Victoria Sugden is currently the longest-serving character on Emmerdale, and has had plenty of ups and downs since her first appearance in 1994. While Victoria has been married on the ITV soap in the past, the actress behind the character, Isabel Hodgins, has only played the part of bride – until recently, when she tied the knot in real life.

Isabel, 31, got married just a few days ago in a gorgeous ceremony in Manchester covered exclusively by the Mirror. The actress exchanged her vows with teacher Adam Whitehead, and was surrounded by loved ones and co-stars for the blissful day.

The duo got engaged in November 2023 after years together, and Isabel shared the happy news on Instagram at the time. She wrote: “The most incredible night of my life. I said yes to marrying my best friend. My kind, sweet, patient and generous, perfect person. I can’t wait to spend forever with you.”

Isabel and Adam even celebrated buying their first house together not long before their wedding, and looked incredibly loved-up on the big day. During the nuptials Isabel also revealed how her relationship with the teacher started, and shared how her dad had a huge – and hilarious – part to play in getting things off the ground.

The actress shared the tale as part of her wedding speech, and explained that she wanted to flout tradition by speaking up. “It bothers me that it’s just the men, so I was like, ‘I’ll absolutely be speaking,’” she said of her choice to address the guests.

Despite the scary undertaking, Isabel only put pen to paper the night before she walked down the aisle, but the speech came together easily once she decided to focus on how she first met Adam two and a half years ago at the gym and was immediately taken by him.

Although it was love at first sight there was one issue about Adam that left Isabel scared – and her beloved dad was the one to clear things up.

The soap star recalled: “I had a crush on Adam at the gym. I thought he was younger than me, which was an issue. I train with my dad and I said I wanted to know how old he was. My dad went over and asked him!”

Adam then shared: “Her dad was her wingman. I said that in my speech. He came up to me on that Monday morning and said, ‘How old are you?’ And when I answered he said, ‘Thanks,’ and walked off. There was no small talk. The day after, Isabel requested to follow me on Instagram and it started to make sense.”

Thankfully, age turned out to be just a number for the pair after meeting when Adam was 25 and Isabel was 28. Speaking after the wedding, Isabel admitted: “At the start I made such a fuss about it. He thought I was going to break up with him over it! Now we’re married and it’s a non issue.”

What it’s REALLY like to have a baby with Elon Musk as Amber Heard sparks rumours

Actress Amber Heard has given birth to twins, a daughter named Agnes and a son named Ocean. The newborns have made the star a mum-of-three, with her older daughter Oonagh born via surrogate in 2021.

Speaking at the time, Amber said she had started a family “by myself and on my own terms despite my own fertility challenges”, with the father of her latest new arrivals so far remaining unknown. This lack of confirmation has prompted speculation the twins’ father could be her ex, billionaire Elon Musk.

For back in 2022, a family friend of Amber alleged she was in a legal battle over embryos she had created with the Space X founder. Adding fuel to the fire is Elon’s concerns about falling birth rates globally, with leaked messages suggesting the father of 14 wanted to personally have a “legion” of children.

Some fans on X, the site formerly known as Twitter owned by Elon, are convinced this means the entrepreneur is the twins’ dad. “Amber Heard welcomes twins! Actress, 39, announces arrival of daughter, Anges and son, Ocean,” one tweeted. “Fishy… I wonder is all of her children are by ELON MUSK.”

“Interesting,” said another. “Reportedly, Amber Heard and Elon Musk created embryos together during their relationship then had a legal dispute over the rights after their breakup. Heard wished to keep them to have a child. So, @elonmusk could well be the father of her children.” These claims are unfounded and neither Amber nor Elon have confirmed them.

Meanwhile, Ashley St Clair, the woman who claims to be the mother of Elon’s 13th child Romulus, recently opened up to The Wall Street Journal about the kind of father he apparently is. The former couple met in the spring of 2023, when they started direct messaging on X, before Elon invited the 26-year-old to visit the social media giant’s San Francisco offices.

According to The Journal, Elon sent St Clair a text during her pregnancy about his wish to father a “legion” of children. “To reach legion-level before the apocalypse,” he allegedly wrote. “We will need to use surrogates.”

The billionaire also reportedly suggested St Clair have ten babies, with a fixer allegedly being involved in financial negotiations. According to the publication, the Tesla founder instructed him to send St Claire $2 million – £1.5m – during her pregnancy, with half of the amount structured as a loan.

It is claimed that the employee asked her to leave Elon’s name off Romulus’s birth certificate and sign documents keeping his paternity a secret in return for financial support set at £11m for a house and £75,000 a month until the boy turned 21. In a text, the business mogul claimed the secrecy was for the protection of his son, claiming he was “#2 after Trump for assassination” and that “only the paranoid survive”.

St Clair didn’t sign the agreement, instead going public with her story and hiring a lawyer. The right-wing influencer wrote on X this February: “Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world.

“Elon Musk is the father. I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child’s privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause. I intend to allow our child to grow in a normal and safe environment. For that reason, I ask that the media honour our child’s privacy, and refrain from invasive reporting.”
