Austria’s JJ received a hero’s welcome at Vienna airport this Sunday, after taking the title at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest with his chart-topping hit Wasted Love. The scene was one of celebration as hundreds of fans erupted into cheers as JJ made his grand entrance through the arrivals gate.

Devotees of the 24-year-old countertenor, who is also a performer at the Vienna State Opera, were seen blasting his winning track, eager to embrace him and grab his autograph. Victorious and visibly moved, JJ, whose offstage name is Johannes Pietsch, beamed as he waved his trophy alongside a sizeable bunch of roses, declaring to all present that “that victory is for you.”

Austria celebrates JJ’s victory at Eurovision, joining three other notable winners, Conchita Wurst and Udo Jürgens, with three more victories under its belt.

JJ, who was overcome with emotion, reflected on his incredible accomplishments following the victory in Basel, expressing his shock at how incredible his accomplishments were. It’s crazy”,.

President Alexander van der Bellen hailed JJ’s incredible victory online, saying, “What a success! What a voice! What a show “! The president claims that the entire country soaked in the splendor.

Chancellor Christian Stoecker added to the avalanche of praise by posting the words “What a great success – my warmest congratulations on winning #ESC2025” on social media. Today, JJ is rewriting Austrian music history.

With today’s victory, the Vienna State Opera is thrilled. Opera director Bogdan Roscic stated to APA that “the story that can only exist in Austria is somehow related to the Magic Flute.”

Cities all over Austria showed no signs of interest in hosting the competition the following year. Oberwart in Burgenland and Wels in Upper Austria both expressed their desire to host the event, while Innsbruck’s mayor Johannes Anzengruber told APA that “not everything has to take place in Vienna… Austria is bigger than that.”

JJ himself expressed his desire for Vienna to be chosen for the upcoming ESC, an event he’d enjoy hosting alongside his mentor Conchita Wurst, just after winning on Saturday night.

Controversial Israeli singer Yuval Raphael clinched second place, with the entrant’s participation being hit with criticism over the country’s bombardment of Palestine, which had resulted in over 52,000 deaths.

JJ stated at a press conference that “love is the strongest force on planet Earth, and love persevered,” which is the key message of his song about unrequited love.

JJ declared, “Let’s spread love, guys,” and expressed his pride at winning the first Eurovision contest in a proudly queer gender.

Osimhen Scores As Galatasaray Win Turkish League, Second Trophy In Five Days

Five days after the Lions were declared the winners of the Turkish Super Lig, Galatasaray defeated Kayserispor 3-0 on Sunday to claim the title. Victor Osimhen from Nigeria was once more on target. &nbsp,

In the 26th minute of the match, Osimhen, 24, scored from the top of Gabriel Sara’s cross to lead his club. &nbsp,

Hailey, the daughter of the Nigerian striker, announced his father as the scorer, which made the goal special.

The second of the night was scored by Baris Alper Yilmaz three minutes later. Osimhen allowed goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to take the spot kick, but he was designated as the Turkish side’s penalty taker. &nbsp,

The 38-year-old Uruguayan, who was expected to leave the club at the end of the season, hit the back of the net as Galatasaray cruised to a 3-0 victory, tying them with the title.

Galatasaray won the Turkish League game with an unachievable 89 points, eight ahead of Fenerbahce’s Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, who are still playing.

Galatasaray won the Turkish Cup just days after winning the 25th Super Lig title over Trabzonspor. Osimhen, who is currently out on a season-long loan from Napoli in Italy, added a brace to his impressive form this campaign.

Osimhen now has 25 league goals this season thanks to Sunday’s goal. The Super Eagles became the most prolific foreign player in Turkish football when he scored a brace last Wednesday, breaking the 24-year-old record. His 34 goals in a campaign was more than Brazilian legend Mario Jardel’s.

However, according to local media, Mourinho’s departure from Fenerbahce could result from losing out on silverware a year before his contract expires.

Mourinho’s team failed to win any of the four Istanbul derbies against Galatasaray and Besiktas, which was their last triumphant season 11 years ago.

Lightning beat Pulse in battle of NSL’s top two

Loughborough Lightning, reigning champions, defeated Loughborough Lightning 58-53 to move level on points with London Pulse at the top of the table on Sunday.

In the final minutes of the game, Lightning looked comfortable, looking to build on that lead and lead the league in the end.

But they eventually fell short of expectations and held on for a jittery victory, winning 17-6.

In the end, the Lightning, who were embarrassed by Pulse in the second round of the season, won 77-51.

The teams are now tied on 25 points after 10 rounds, with the London side trailing on goal difference, as a result of Pulse’s narrow margin of victory, which included a losing bonus point as a result of Pulse’s fourth-quarter surge.

This season, teams that lose by five goals or fewer receive a losing bonus point.

London Mavericks reclaimed the top four after a nail-biting 71-66 victory over Leeds Rhinos earlier.

With just under a minute to go, the Rhinos had a chance to win the third game of the season, but Mavericks’ one-pointer made it a stretch.

The capital club then held their resolve to triumph over Nottingham Forest next weekend in a potentially crucial match for the deciding play-off spots at Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield.

With a 77-53 victory over Cardiff Dragons, League newcomers Forest had boosted their chances of being among the top four prospects on Friday.

Rolene Streutker, a South African goalie, shot 110 shots for the campaign on a successful night.

With only four points from nine games, Cardiff is still at the bottom.

What they said about Pulse v. Lightning

Loughborough Lightning player of the match Berri Neil stated to Sky Sports, “We’ve all been hoping to win this round, hoping to return to Lightning after our first game.” We knew we had a lot more to give, but we were so disappointed with it. We are unhappy with that last quarter because it is still not perfect. A win over them would be good, but if we were to face them again at any point, we would have to be much better and be capable.

Sam Bird, the head coach for Pulse, said, “I thought Loughborough really got going.” We’re still having trouble finding connections, but some of our players have been completely isolated and shut down by them. I’m working on giving our shooters confidence to go post and shoot, but we both had a great time. Our attack needs to have a little more faith in one another.

Kylie Jenner leaves fans convinced she’d ‘eloped’ with Timothée Chalamet

When Kylie Jenner shared a number of photos on Instagram wearing a form-fitting white dress, many people assumed it to be a wedding gown.

Fans of Kylie Jenner speculated that Timothee Chalamet and her ‘eloped’ after recent snaps.

Kylie Jenner’s fans were convinced she eloped with boyfriend Timothée Chalamet after she shared snaps of her in a white dress while on vacation. The socialite, 27, and the Oscar-nominated actor, 29, have been going from strength to strength since they were first linked in early 2023.

On Sunday afternoon, Kylie took to her Instagram page to share a series of snaps taken at the beach at an unknown location as she rocked a tight mesh mini-dress with crochet floral detailing. She completed the stunning look with matching white stockings, a tight, slicked back bun and pearl earrings. Kylie simply captioned the post: “cosmic girl,” referring to her new fragrance.

After seeing the white outfit, some fans initially thought she had eloped with her boyfriend, and they hurried to the comment section to express their excitement.

One user wrote, “Legit thought she eloped and this was an iconic wedding dress,” and another, “Not me zooming in on the left.” One fan said, “For a moment, I thought she was launching that about her wedding!” “!

It comes after Timothée and Kylie took their relationship to the next step by making their first red carpet appearance as a couple earlier this month.

The pair has been dating since 2023 and has previously posed for photos at sporting events as well as together on the red carpet until May.

At the 70th David di Donatello Awards, the lovers posed for photos together during a famous photocall. Fans didn’t have to wait long for the couple’s formal debut, despite Timothée’s earlier absence from the Met Gala.

A source close to the couple revealed the reason behind his no-show at the Met Gala: “Timothée did consider going to the Met Gala, but he is a huge Knicks fan and Kylie knows this,” they said. “Kylie didn’t bother him to go with her and that’s something he appreciates about her. She allows him to do his own thing.”

The couple has previously kept their relationship a secret, reserving their public appearances to private parties and low-key outings, and Kylie and Timothee’s relaxed approach seems to work well for them. Their dazzling Rome appearance, however, turned out to be a turning point for the lovers.

Following his incredible performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, Timothee is reportedly scheduled to play a secret set at Glastonbury in 2025 for the duo’s loved-up red carpet debut.

The actor is reportedly scheduled to play with the Dylan-inspired ensemble Not Completely Unknown on Saturday, June 28 at the Acoustic Stage, according to a recent Sun report.

The band’s listing on Glastonbury’s official website makes reference to “special guests,” which further amplifies the whispers.

The UN says global hunger has hit a new high

In 2024, nearly 300 million people experienced acute hunger.

The United Nations has issued a sharp warning that the world is dangerously off course following its discovery that more than 295 million people were suffering from acute hunger in 2024.

As major donor nations are anticipated to reduce funding this year, there are growing concerns about the future.

96 million people in 18 nations, including Syria and Yemen, are affected by climate change and economic crises.

After two years of civil war, Sudan’s largest humanitarian crisis is primarily brought on by conflict and violence.

Israel’s third-month-long humanitarian and food embargo has caused a manufactured crisis in Gaza.

Is the lack of global food shortage a result of human nature or of system failure?
