At least 25 people were killed and nearly 800 others were hurt in a massive explosion that ripped through Iran’s biggest commercial port on Saturday, according to state media.
Near the Strait of Hormuz, through which passes a fifth of the world’s oil output, the explosion occurred at the Shahid Rajaei Port in Bandar Abbas city in southern Iran.
The hazardous and chemical materials storage depot’s explosion was likely the result of a fire, according to the port’s customs office in a statement released by state television.
After the explosion at Shahid Rajaei, which stretched more than 1, 000 kilometers (620 miles) south of Tehran, rescuers and survivors were seen walking along a long, carpeted, debris-filled boulevard.
A truck trailer was sprayed with blood on the side of a crushed car, and a helicopter dropped water on massive black smoke clouds strewn from behind stacked shipping containers.
State TV reported that “hundreds have been transferred to nearby medical centers,” while the provincial blood transfusion center called for donations and cited local emergency services.
One of Iran’s most fatal workplace accidents in years was the site of the explosion several months later. More than 50 people died in Tabas, in the east of the nation, as a result of a gas leak that caused the coal mine explosion in September.

Fans are only just learning of Thomas Brodie-Sangster’s real age after being compared with another legendary actor. Sangster, an actor from London, is known for his role as Newt in The Maze Runner movie series and as a child actor, he gained recognition for featuring in the hit films Love Actually and Nanny McPhee.
He was born on May 16, 1990 so he is 34 years old. A user on X, @PicturesFoIder, posted side-by-side photos of Sangster and Scottish actor Sean Connery, known for playing James Bond, at the same age and people on the platform couldn’t help but notice how different they look.
One user claimed, “One smoked cigarettes, and the other did not.” Connery, 90, was known to smoke both cigars and cigarettes both on and off-screen. He passed away on October 31, 2020. Another continued, “More testosterone was present in men in Connery’s day than it is today.”
A third chimed in: “Sean Connery, born 1930, was 34 in 1964 during his James Bond era, known for a rugged lifestyle. Thomas Brodie-Sangster, born 1990, was 34 in 2024, often cast in youthful roles like Love Actually. Lifestyle differences, like Connery’s smoking, may explain aging contrast.”
A fourth author claimed that Sean started smoking regularly at the age of 12. also drank a lot. Both of you get older quickly.

At age 34, a fifth user said, “I’m 55 and I’m only just starting to have lines on my face,” and I’m probably able to undo those lines without much trouble (and without having Botox or surgery). You get older and smoking. Particularly, smoking messes with your skin.
Connery was the first actor to play the fictional British secret agent James Bond in motion pictures, starring in seven Bond films between 1962 and 1983. In the original novels by Ian Fleming, James Bond is a heavy smoker, putting away between 60 and 70 cigarettes a day and on screen he doesn’t match the sixty-a-day habit in the books, but he does smoke in eleven of the 23 007 films, as reported by Geist.

Much like his fictional character, Connery himself was a heavy smoker. He started his smoking habit when he was a child aged just nine-years-old, according to The Independent.
In 1971, Connery gave a candid interview to The Guardian. He told the newspaper: “I try not to drink too much because when I do drink I drink too much and too easily. I gave up smoking three years ago’ a complete cut-off; when I smoked pot I found that I didn’t like it because, although it turned me on all right, it was too much like smoking cigarettes”, MI6 Headquarters, the world’s most visited unofficial James Bond 007 website, reported.

In order to save Hearts’ season, Neil Critchley made a surprise appearance.
According to Sportscene pundit and former Tynecastle player Michael Stewart, “Never a Hearts manager.”
It’s over now that it’s six months and 35 matches in all competitions.
The Englishman, 46, managed to save the Edinburgh side from relegation danger but couldn’t make it to the top six.
The threat of demotion through the play-offs has returned to mind after the defeat by Dundee. That was what ultimately resulted in Critchley being informed that his time was up on Saturday night.
What happened during Critchley’s tenure?
Many Hearts fans were unaware of the former Liverpool youth coach when he was appointed in October.
He had a run for Queens Park Rangers and Blackpool (on two separate occasions), but he remained largely unknown.
According to Chief Executive Officer Andrew McKinlay, Critchley may have been the club’s choice because negotiations have broken out with Per-Mathias Hogmo, former Norway manager.
And his two victories in his opening games appeared to indicate that Hearts’ or his data partner, Jamestown Analytics, who had a significant influence on the decision, had found the right person.
However, within the next 14 matches, the Premiership’s bottom two teams managed just three victories.
A poor performance against Moldovan minnows Petrocub at Tynecastle would have allowed European football to continue after Christmas, which was included in this run.
Other major-game setbacks occurred against Celtic, Rangers, and local rivals Hibernian, who resurrected their season following a similarly disappointing campaign.
Important players like Frankie Kent, Stephen Kingsley, and Craig Halkett, who had long-term injuries, didn’t help Critchley. The football gods never really turned on him when you factor in Lawrence Shankland’s dip, either.

McGlynn’s top wish list for hearts?
The decision to oust Critchley was influenced in large part by McKinlay and the recently appointed football director, Graeme Jones.
Liam Fox, who was in charge until Steven Naismith’s dismissal in the fall, is unlikely to have the necessary experience or support to be considered for a long-term position.
There are likely to be names mentioned once more who are unknown to many of the club’s supporters because Jamestown Analytics will undoubtedly play a role in the search for a new head coach/manager.
John McGlynn is a name they will undoubtedly know and have a good chance of placing at the top of their wish list.
The 63-year-old has previously held the club’s leadership and is on the verge of restoring Falkirk to the Scottish Premiership with consecutive promotions, despite their recent slump.
McGlynn is well-versed in Hearts and is well-versed in what is necessary for success at Tynecastle. Without a doubt, he will have supporters at the club.
Derek McInnes and Stephen Robinson of St Mirren, both of whom have previously been linked to the job, will be the other notable names to be mentioned.
Crucial time, but players must stand up straight.
Hearts is in a crucial position at this time. They have millions of pounds invested by the Foundation of Hearts and wealthy benefactors, and they have one of the biggest fan bases in Scotland, but somehow they still can’t get things right.
Many fans are now unsure whether McKinlay should stay at the club in his current position because Chair Ann Budge relinquished a large portion of the control.
Hearts will immediately strive to remain a top-flight organization because Ross County, who are currently five points clear of them, is where they face in the relegation play-offs. On Saturday, Dancingwall might be nervy.
Additionally, the players must demonstrate more than they have recently.
Hearts had more than 70% of the possession when they faced Dundee, but they hardly ever caused any concern for Trevor Carson in the visitors’ goal.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night in Kansas City) welterweight champion Ian Machado Garry escaped a late scare from Carlos Prates and was given a unanimous decision.
Garry won on the judges ‘ scorecards, 48-47, 48-47, 49-46, to end Prates’s unbeaten run in the UFC.
On Saturday night, Garry controlled four of the final five rounds, keeping Prates on guard thanks to the Octagon’s superior movement, feinting, wrestling, and off-balance striking attacks.
Prates attempted a fifth-round technical knockout (TKO) against his taller opponent in the final minute of the fifth round. Although Parates repeatedly punched Garry on the feet and the ground, the Irishman made it through the late onslaught because both fighters were exhausted late in the fight.
Garry expressed his relief after the fifth-round flurry following Prates’ performance.
Garry responded to Prates’ decision with the statement, “I was not hurt. “I was conscious at all times.” That man is a danger, I am aware of. I respect everything The Fighting Nerds do, including him and his team.
Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena’s welterweight title fight will be fought on May 10th, and Garry has revealed that he is the official backup fighter.

Despite the outcome, Smith expressed his pride in his progress over a difficult career.
In the Octagon following the loss, Smith said, “I’m just going to be grateful it happened.” “I appreciate you guys.”
Smith won 13 UFC fights and made his professional debut. Smith (37-22 MMA) ended his three-fight losing streak while Zhang (19-6 MMA) has not yet reached the second round of any of his career victories.

ExCLUSIVE Former TOWIE star Mark Wright was tearful as he described Presley’s health battle after the tot was diagnosed with a rare heart condition.
Mark Wright was overcome with emotion as he opened up about his nephew Presley’s health battle, breaking down in tears during a moving speech.
The former TOWIE star, 37, was speaking at a special event for The Brompton Fountain, a charity supporting children with serious heart and lung conditions, when he became tearful talking about his young nephew’s journey.
A rare heart condition that has deeply affected the entire family led to the diagnosis of Presley, the son of Mark’s sister Jessica Wright and her husband William Lee-Kemp.
Jessica, best known for her appearances on The Only Way Is Essex, welcomed her first child with William in May 2022.

Jessica called her newborn “everything and more,” and the couple described their son’s birth as a “dream come true.

However, their happiness was shattered when they discovered Presley was suffering from a Bicuspid Aortic Valve — a condition where the aortic valve has only two leaflets instead of the usual three.
It can cause serious complications, including heart failure and infections, if left untreated.
Presley now receives regular hospital check-ups every 12 weeks, where doctors use heart scans and ECGs to determine when he will require open-heart surgery.
Presley Wright’s son Presley attended Jess Wright’s “Have a Heart” Gala.
After watching a short film with Presley and the important work The Brompton Fountain does, an emotional Mark struggled to control his feelings at the charity event.
As he addressed the audience, Mark said, “When it’s that close to home, it just hurts,” his voice trembling.
My sister is an extraordinary woman, even though I don’t tell her often. Although I’m biased, I think we can all agree that her and her husband Will’s resolve, sincerity, and love for their son are unquestionable.
“And to my nephew, you’re the bravest little boy I know,” he added, turning his back to the stage to compose himself as the room — including his supportive wife Michelle Keegan — erupted in applause.
Mark’s remarks about Presley and his nephew became emotional.
In this extremely difficult time, the touching scene demonstrated how tightly the family is putting together for little Presley.
Jessica made the hospital admissions process for Presley in February. When Presley refused food and was vomiting the entire night, leading to him sleeping in Jess and her husband Edward’s bed, she claimed it was inappropriate for her son. A week prior to the hospital dash, she opened up Presley and revealed that he had a mystery illness.
However, Jess made the decision to present Presley at their neighborhood accident and emergency department as his illness turned into a “horrible cough and temperature”
