Inside Netflix star Cecilie Fjellhoy’s life since Tinder Swindler fame

What happened to Cecilie Fjellhoy, the star of The Tinder Swindler, after it reached the top of the Netflix charts when it first appeared in 2022?

The Tinder Swindler is the subject of Netflix’s newest show, which even includes a well-known face from the popular 2022 documentary.

True crime television series Love Con Revenge shines a spotlight on partners who lent thousands of dollars before discovering they had been duped.

Cecilie Fjellhoy, who shared her own romance fraud tale in The Tinder Swindler, hosts the six-part show.

With the assistance of private investigator Brianne Joseph, the Norwegian-born star is now on a mission to assist other love scam victims in seeking justice.

What, then, has kept Cecilie busy since she first gained fame?

After dominating Netflix’s charts, Cecilie and another scam victim, Anna Rowe, founded LoveSaid, a think tank focused on combating romance fraud.

The duo frequently posts updates to their social media profiles and write articles to raise awareness of love scams and offer assistance to other victims.

Although the term “victim” may have connotations, Cecilie doesn’t like it.

The TV star clarified her position on the label in 2023 by saying, “Yes, f***, I want to be seen as a victim.” After being told by the police, “It’s not really a crime.” What will they do to others if that is how I was treated and my case was so public?”

The entrepreneur has also gained success as a public speaker, frequently giving talks on fraud prevention and detection in addition to her collaboration with Anna.

The Netflix star has spoken at educational conferences everywhere from New York to Dubai, and more recently transformed her story into a novel.

Without prior authorization, content cannot be displayed.

Along with Pernilla Sjoholm, The Tinder Swindler’s other alleged victim, Cecilie wrote the book with the title Swindled Never After.

The duo assert that this book is “a powerful synthesis of personal storytelling and eye-opening insights” rather than just “just a retelling of The Tinder Swindler.”

Cecilie’s most recent effort to expose romance fraud is her new Netflix series, which highlights the variety of forms love scams can take.

Speaking before the series premiere, she told Netflix: “Since The Tinder Swindler, I’ve heard from people all over the world who’ve been targeted by criminals hiding behind love.

I can use what I’ve learned to help others heal, regain their voices, their influence, and their lives through Love Con Revenge.

Climate-change-driven wildfires increasing air pollution across globe: UN

According to the United Nations’ weather and climate agency, wildfires contributed significantly to air pollution last year.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reported on Friday that wildfires are releasing a “witches’ brew” of pollutants that could end up destroying air quality across the globe. These pollutants are likely to have been made more frequent by climate change.

In its fifth annual Air Quality and Climate Bulletin, the WMO outlined how significant an impact air quality can be on a global scale following such wildfires in the Amazon, Canada, and Siberia.

The WMO stated in a statement that “wildfires are a major contributor to particle pollution and the problem is expected to get worse as the climate warms, putting rising risks to infrastructure, ecosystems, and human health.”

“Air quality and climate change cannot be addressed alone,” he said. In order to safeguard our planet, our communities, and our economies, Deputy Secretary-General Ko Barrett said, “They must be tackled together.”

The UN warns that wildfires in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest could spread throughout the world.

The WMO cited the importance of tiny aerosols as aerosols in wildfires, winter fog, shipping emissions, and urban pollution as particular risks because they can penetrate deep into the lungs or cardiovascular systems.

According to the WMO, wildfires in 2024 caused above-average PM 2.5 levels in Canada, Siberia, and central Africa. However, the Amazon basin experienced the biggest PM 2.5 surge.

According to WMO Scientific Officer Lorenzo Labrador, who coordinated the bulletin, wildfires in Canada also ended up causing air pollution in Europe.

“That occurred last year and this year as well.” When the weather is right, the air quality will deteriorate across continents, Labrador said at a press conference.

“We have essentially a witches’ brew of components that pollute the air,” the author says.

According to the WHO, air pollution causes 4.5 million premature deaths annually.

To protect human and environmental health, as well as reduce agricultural and economic losses, the WMO has called for better monitoring and better policies.

According to Paolo Laj, the WMO’s global atmosphere chief, the improvement can be clearly seen in meteorological data when nations take steps to combat poor air quality.

He told the AFP news agency, “Look at Europe, Shanghai, Beijing, and the cities in the United States: Many cities have taken measures and you see a significant decrease” in air pollution over the long term.

“Over the past ten years, Chinese cities have significantly improved their air quality. What they have accomplished is truly impressive.

The WMO attributed the decline in PM 2.5 levels in eastern China to sustained mitigation measures last year.

Protecting presidents & fighting terrorists – from the army to UFC

Francois Hollande, a former French president, was protected by Benoit Saint-Denis in 2016.

He has spearheaded counter-terrorism efforts, stopping terrorist extractions, and eradicating threats made by organizations like Boko Haram.

The 29-year-old spent five years in the French military, which ended in 2019, but the most difficult situation of his life was in the UFC, not the army.

Dustin Poirier ended Saint-Denis’ five-fight winning streak in the promotion in March, and he lost to Renato Moicano six months later.

Saint-Denis’ momentum was shattered as he fell from the title picture as a result of his defeats.

Despite having fought for his country before, he was unprepared for the attention a top UFC fighter would receive.

Saint-Denis tells BBC Sport, “Every year in 2024 was the hardest.”

“It’s the pressure,” he said. Despite all the hype and controversy surrounding massive fights, the ability to maintain the same passion and fire for the fight are all under pressure.

Saint-Denis revealed that he had largely been self-training for the fights without the assistance of a trustworthy head coach after Poirier and Moicano lost.

This was different from when he served in the military, where he learned impeccably to follow orders.

Being disciplined, able to have a plan, respect it, and stay close to it was important, Saint-Denis remarked.

He had what he needed in the UFC because he had mentored other members of the French army who helped shape strategy in the most difficult of circumstances.

Saint-Denis faced Kyle Prepolec in May after making the decision to work with Nicolas Ott.

He will next face Brazilian lightweight Mauricio Ruffy on Saturday at UFC Paris, and he will have a different perspective on combat when they meet at Accor Arena.

“Being disciplined, having a good head coach who values you as a person.” Saint-Denis praises his dedication to making a better fighter.

When he enlisted at the age of 18, Saint-Denis, who was born in southern France, joined the French Army Special Forces.

“The sub-Saharan region was where I spent the majority of my time working as a Special Force operator.” So Mali, Burkinabe, and Niger are all there. Saint-Denis claims that he primarily worked against Boko Haram.

The United Kingdom has designated Boko Haram as a terrorist organization, which operates in nations like Nigeria, Niger, and Mali.

Saint-Denis’ work primarily involved tackling the threatposed by organizations like Boko Haram.

“The arrest or the destruction of terrorist threats is going to be the talking point when we’re talking about counter-terrorism.” “Or preventing terrorist extractions in cities like Timbuktu, for example,” Saint-Denis claims.

Along with Hollande, his team was also tasked with defending significant members of the French government when they traveled abroad.

Saint-Denis is fond of his service to the French military.

He claims that it was drawn in and demanding, and that he eventually realized that he was a man because he had been disciplined and able to work hard to accomplish things.

“I loved it because it was very adventurous.”

Although fighting terrorism and competing in the UFC are completely different worlds with distinct pressures, Saint-Denis is not required to consider which is more difficult.

‘I’ve been so close’ – McColgan targets Great North Run win

Great North Run

Date: Sunday, September 7th, 2018 Course: Newcastle to South Shields

After twice coming close to imitating her mother with victory, Eilish McColgan hopes the Great North Run this year will prove third-place.

The 34-year-old Scot defeated Liz McColgan’s best time last year on the route from Newcastle to South Shields.

However, the 2021 runner-up finished the race five seconds behind Mary Ngugi-Cooper, who had previously completed a stunning six-athlete sprint that year.

Everyone would genuinely enjoy a victory, of course. It’s a truly iconic race. My mother won the race, and legends of the sport have all won it, McColgan said to BBC Sport.

“I’ve been so close to each other.” In the end, I’d love to visit and claim the victory, which would be incredible. But I am aware that there is always a lot of talent.

On Sunday’s start line, along with 60, 000 other runners, will be joined by Kenyan New York marathon champion Sheila Chepkirui and two-time Great North Run champion Vivian Cheruiyot.

In the elite men’s race, Belgium’s Bashir Abdi and Kenya’s Abel Kipchumba, the country’s defending champion of the 2024 London Marathon, and the country’s Alex Mutiso Munyao, the country’s record-holder, will face off in the elite men’s race.

Following knee surgery, McColgan had a significant year already, with the marathon debut she had in London in April coming up in two years.

The British record-holder for 5K, 10K, and half marathons has been training at altitude in Font Romeu for the past two months, and the record holder has admitted that it felt like a “weight lifted” after a “really challenging” period.

“I just needed to get around a marathon and feel like I could do it,” McColgan said, noting that I never wanted it to become more of a mental illness.

After recovering from an injury at the height of her career, McColgan learned to trust her body once more. Between 2021 and 2023, she won Commonwealth 10 000m and national records on the track and road.

Her cautious training for the London Marathon this year paid off, breaking her mother’s Scottish record in two hours and 24 minutes, despite having to take a six-month break to recover from her knee problem.

When you’re in the best shape of your life, you’re always just a few inches away from pushing a little too hard, McColgan said.

McColgan has been chosen to compete in the November New York Marathon, but her selection is not guaranteed as she transitions to this most important year of her career.

With Paula Radcliffe’s British record of 2: 15: 25, on her radar, the immediate goal is to complete a sub-2:20 marathon before determining how much lower she can go.

According to McColgan, “I have broken all the other national records, and she has said there is no reason why breaking the British marathon record is not possible,” added McColgan.

US Department of Defense to be renamed ‘Department of War’: Report

In an effort to rebrand the government agency with a more powerful brand, Donald Trump is slated to rename it the Department of Defense.

According to The Associated Press news agency, White House officials who are aware of the rebranding effort are expected to implement the name change in an executive order on Friday.

Unknown facts: The Department of Defense will have the name “Department of War” as its secondary name until legislation can change it permanently.

In a post above a news story about the reported change, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wrote “DEPARTMENT OF WAR.”

Hegseth didn’t make any additional remarks.

When the US was a new superpower, President Trump had predicted that a name change would bring back memories of earlier US military victories in World Wars I and II.

He told reporters late last month that “everyone likes that we had an unbelievable history of victory when it was Department of War.”

He explained that the name was changed to “Department of Defense.”

Defense is “too defensive,” he said. And if we have to be offensive, we also want to be defensive, he said.

From 1789 until the US military’s reorganization at the end of World War II, which ended in 1945, the Department of Defense was known as the “Department of War.”

Following a merger with other departments in 1947, it was later renamed the National Military Establishment, and the name was later changed to the Department of Defense.

These name changes were made by a Congress-approved resolution.

The defense department is frequently referred to as simply the “Pentagon” or simply by its moniker, “DOD,” given the distinctive shape of its headquarters close to Washington, DC.

In 2022, the Pentagon can be seen from the air near Washington, DC.

Defense Secretary Hegseth will be instructed to pursue legal and legislative means, according to reports from US media reports that it is still unclear how Trump will change the name.

In an interview with Fox News in the US, Hegseth claimed that his organization wants a “warrior ethos” and made similar remarks to Trump’s regarding the department’s name.

We need warriors who are able to impose lethal force on the enemy, he said.

We don’t want to play defense all the time, so we don’t want to have endless contingencies. We believe that titles, names, and words count. We are currently working on it with the president and the White House. He remarked, “Stand by.”

Jason Manford says ‘I f***ed it’ as he recalls his The One Show exit amid sexting scandal

After being forced to quit his BBC show, comedian Jason Manford and his former coworker Alex Jones have reunited on The One Show.

Jason Manford is reunited with his former The One Show colleague Alex Jones as he admitted to a fan how he ruined his previous presenting stint on the show.

In 2010 Manford was forced to step down from BBC ’s The One Show after admitting swapping X-rated messages with women.

A viewer commented online how it was “such a shame” that his on-screen partnership with Jones hadn’t endured after appearing on the show this week.

Manford replied: “I know! F***ed it! But hey ho, we live and learn and grow!” Manford, then 29, had only been in the post with Jones for three months after the departure of former presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley to ITV.

Manford, who was married at the time, said, “I’ve made the decision to leave The One Show so that I can concentrate on my family and travel commitments.”

Later, he claimed that his then-wife Catherine had forgiven him and claimed that he had been “a d***head.” He reaffirmed that he was a good husband and father. I’ll be one forever from now on.

But he eventually ended his relationship with her in 2013. Four children were born to them. In 2014, he started dating TV producer Lucy Dyke. She and his daughter were expecting in January 2015, and they tied the knot two years later.

Last month, Manford experienced a health crisis, forcing the comic to axe a number of shows after suffering from appendicitis.

The father-of-six informed fans he had surgery to remove his appendix after three more shows were postponed. He posted a photo of himself in his gown as he updated the news from his hospital bed.

“Appendix surgery all went well, now in recovery with my Vimto, they serve it in all Manchester hospitals,” Manford told his followers on social media. “Bit of a scary and extremely painful 24 hours but thankful to our NHS and my incredible nurse mum who’s a godsend in a health crisis!”.

Then, he eluded his supporters with a cheeky bit of “sage.” He said, “My advice would be to avoid getting appendicitis while driving at 70 mph on the motorway!” “.

Seriously, I’m upset that I had to change the weekend dates, and I apologize for the late notice being given to so many people in St Albans, Oxford, Lincoln, Skegness, and Kendall Calling.

“I was told not to worry because I believed I could get by on antibiotics and surgery so I could continue doing the shows.” Also, means that I can’t travel to Portugal on Monday to take my family on vacation! That’s life, I suppose. Thank you for all the “Get Well Soon” messages.
