Haunting moment Felix Baumgartner prepares paraglider for doomed flight before death

Felix Baumgartner, an ex-high-level athlete, tragically died in an Italian paragliding accident. Before the deadly flight, his partner had shared what he was doing.

A paraglider’s final moments were captured in harrowing footage moments before his plummeted to his death during a doomed flight.

Felix Baumgartner, who made headlines in 2012 by jumping off the edge of space, tragically passed away in an Italian paragliding accident on Thursday. The 56-year-old Austrian plunged into a pool’s side in Porto Sant Elpidio.

His partner, Michela Radulescuhas, has since released a heartbreaking video of Baumgartner preparing for the ride. She posted the video on Twitter and said: “For over 12 years I was there for every take off and landing, from skydiving, paragliding, helicopter flights, paramotor to aerobatic shows. And when I couldn’t be there for some heli flights, we had the WLC code – ‘the Wifey Landing Call’. Never missed one. Except …this one.”

In a social media post, Massimiliano Ciarpella, the city’s mayor, confirmed Baumgartner’s death. Felix Baumgartner, a figure of global prominence and a symbol of courage and passion for extreme flight, is deeply affected by our community, according to Mr. Ciarpella.

Baumgartner, known as “Fearless Felix”, stunned the world in 2012 when he became the first human to break the sound barrier with only his body. He wore a pressurised suit and jumped from a capsule hoisted more than 24 miles above Earth by a giant helium balloon over New Mexico.

The Austrian, who was part of the Red Bull Stratos team, topped out at 843.6 mph, the equivalent of 1.25 times the speed of sound, during a nine-minute descent. “When I was standing there on top of the world, you become so humble, you do not think about of breaking records any more, you do not think of about gaining scientific data.

After landing in the eastern New Mexico desert, he said, “The only thing you want is to come back alive.” He broke the previous record set by Joe Kittinger, who was Baumgartner’s adviser in the process, in 1960, by jumping to the highest altitude ever.

Baumgartner’s altitude record stood for two years until Google executive Alan Eustace set new marks for the highest free-fall jump and greatest free-fall distance. In 2012, millions watched YouTube’s livestream as Baumgartner coolly flashed a thumbs-up when he came out of the capsule high above Earth and then activated his parachute as he neared the ground, lifting his arms in victory after he landed.

Baumgartner, a former Austrian military parachutist, made thousands of jumps from planes, bridges, skyscrapers and famed landmarks around the world, including the Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil. In 2003, he flew across the English Channel in a carbon fibre wing after being dropped from a plane.

He has recently piloted helicopter stunts for The Flying Bulls in various European countries. It’s difficult to describe moving faster than sound because you don’t feel it, he said later.

Man Utd new boy Leon catches eye in draw with Leeds

In a quiet moment, Manchester United might have discovered a young full-back named Diego Leon.

Even before they opened their pre-season campaign with a goalless draw against newly promoted Leeds, the club had already made some pretty important decisions about the 18-year-old, which indicated the recruitment department believed he had a promising future.

They made an initial investment to bring the South American Paraguay Under-20 international.

Then, instead of letting Harry Amass compete with Leon for what is thought to be the back-up left wingback slot, they gave him a highly sought-after first-team shirt, the number 30.

With Matheus Cunha, a summer signing from Wolves, also appearing in a Manchester United shirt for the first time, head coach Ruben Amorim chose Leon to start against Leeds in Stockholm.

At the end of the first half, the highlight was achieved. Chido Obi received a quick pass inside the penalty area with a delicate touch that one might not expect from a size Leon.

Although Goodness is aware of his formative years in South America, he is already a capable force.

Even in this encounter, which was played in pleasant conditions despite the sun and mid-afternoon kick-off, Leon seemed to be catching his breath on a few occasions as he gets used to the intensity of the Premier League.

“He’s] playing for Manchester United for the first and second weeks. He did a fantastic job. He is learning, Amorim told MUTV.

He is strong, he says. He will develop into a very capable player.

Willy Gnonto and Jayden Bogle overlapping runs initially confused him. But he quickly recovered from any potential danger and avoided the same situation with a little coaching from Luke Shaw, who was playing the left-sided central defender inside of him.

Even though the angle was essentially impossible, Leon was able to convert Casemiro’s deflected shot after it had rebounded from the top of the crossbar.

He didn’t need to fail, so the attitude is encouraging for the future.

Heaton and Meslier guarantee goalless play.

They had the oldest player to blame for keeping Leeds out of United’s squad, which they had named after one of the youngest players.

With Andre Onana out injured, veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton has signed a one-year contract extension. As a result, Altay Bayindir is vying for the interim first-choice starting spot.

And he made three admirable saves in the second half. After Joel Piroe had set up Bogle, Larry Ramazani received two rejections, but the best was the first.

Amorim said the current “environment is really good” at Manchester United, highlighting how well-coordinated the team is overall.

He said, “Of course, we will struggle occasionally.” However, I’ve been feeling this way since the beginning that we will struggle, but we are also struggling together.

That marks the beginning of everything. Then, because this club isn’t just about the effort, we must put the quality. The quality is the. You must succeed in games.

Strange for Leeds was that Jack Harrison, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Everton and is expected to move again, started while Patrick Bamford did not make the trip and no explanation was provided prior to kick-off.

Will Ferrell, an investor in Leeds, watched from the stands as Jaka Bijol and Lukas Nmecha made their first starts under manager Daniel Farke, while other new signings Gabriel Gudmundsson, Sean Longstaff, and Sebastiaan Bornauw made their debuts after half-time.

It is obvious that Farke and Amorim can expect a lot of improvement from his side before their return to the top flight against Everton on August, as news spread about Leeds receiving a £17 million bid accepted by German club Hoffenheim for their midfielder.

BBC ‘scrutinised over differing treatment of stars accused of offensive language’

After using offensive language, MasterChef host John Torode appeared to be subjected to harsher punishment than EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick, who was also a host, on a callout from BBC bosses.

Bosses at the BBC face a grilling over why John Torode and Jamie Borthwick were treated ‘differently’ after both stars used ‘offensive language’. MasterChef star Torode, 59, was sacked by the broadcasting giant after a complaint John used ” highly offensive racist language” was upheld. John denies the incident, which he says he has no recollection of.

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick, 31, was suspended in June after 19 years playing fan favourite character Jay Brown when he was accused of using a slur targeted at disabled people while on the set of Strictly Come Dancing. However, now executives at the BBC are facing questions over why the pair have differences in their treatment with Torode losing his job entirely, while Borthwick faced a suspension.

According to a source, “the differences in how John and Jamie are treated for very similar incidents have raised questions to be resolved.” The BBC has ties itself to this because both stars appear to have used offensive and offensive language, but only one has been fired while the other has kept his lucrative salary and was exonerated with just a suspension.

According to them, “disabled colleagues have been left wondering why incidents of ableist slurs aren’t being taken as seriously as racist language and there aren’t clear answers from bosses,” they continued to The Sun.

Meanwhile, a BBC spokesperson told MailOnline that while we did not comment on any particular situation, each case was always taken into account based on its own facts. We have a very clear understanding of what constitutes inappropriate behavior and language.

Jamie was captured in a video released by The Sun last month that showed him describing the Blackpool residents as “m********s” at the time the show was being shot. When Borthwick made the alleged comment while Wynne Evans and Borthwick were backstage, they were reportedly audible saying, “Oh my God!

Borthwick has since apologized for using the phrase, expressed regret for using it, and expressed regret for being “deeply embarrassed” for saying something offensive. The soap actor apologized in a statement that read, “I sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to surviving Blackpool week on Strictly.

I apologize sincerely for any offence or upset caused by my actions. There is no justification for my ignorance of the offensive term I used and its definition. That completely irritates me.

“Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did. It was wrong.” He went on to issue an apology to the people of Blackpool and reiterate his regret over his words. The Mirror has contacted a representative of the star for comment at the time.

In addition, following allegations of misconduct, MasterChef co-host Gregg Wallace was fired earlier this week after he came forward as the unnamed person in the firm Lewis Silkin’s report, which was commissioned by Banjiay. John has vehemently refuted the accusations that the upheld complaint about him was “a highly offensive racist language against.”

Torode has argued that using the term “was completely absent” from his memory. In a statement, John refuted the claim, saying, “I’m aware that it’s possible that one of the two other people against whom an allegation has been upheld. The Executive Summary of the investigation into Gregg Wallace was released.”

I confirm that I am the person alleged to have once used racial language for the purpose of transparency. The person I was speaking with did not think it was malicious, and I apologized right away after doing it sometime in 2018 or 2019, according to the claim.

“I don’t recall any of this, and I don’t think it ever happened,” I said. I want to be clear that I’ve always believed that any racial language is completely unacceptable in any setting. I’m shocked and depressed by the claim because I would never want to offend anyone.

Minnie Hauk wins Irish Oaks for Classic double

In the final stages of the Irish Oaks at the Curragh, Minnie Hauk won decisively over Wemightakedlongway and won.

The Frankel filly also triumphed in the Oaks at Epsom in early June, completing a Classic double for the Aidan O’Brien-trained horse.

In the mile-and-a-half Group One match on Saturday, Minnie Hauk faced six rivals and a strong 2-11 lead.

The eventual winner was positioned in third place for the majority of the race thanks to Joe Ryan Moore’s transition to pacemaking, with Joseph O’Brien’s Wemightakedlongway (7-2) splitting the pair in second.

With two furlongs to go, Minnie Hauk made up ground before Island Hopping (20-1) came in third.

O’Brien won the Irish Oaks for eighth straight year.

After the race, Moore told RTE, “She’s a good filly and she’s going to go on to do better things.”

Farrell ‘expects different Australia next week’

JavaScript must be enabled in your browser to play this video.

Next Saturday, as the Wallabies attempt to stop the tourists, who have the series to spare, will have a big response from Australia, according to British and Irish Lions head coach Andy Farrell.

After defeating the hosts 27-19 in the first Test match in Brisbane, the Lions will attempt to win the series in Melbourne.

Sione Tuipulotu, Tom Curry, and Dan Sheehan each scored tries in the final 50 minutes of the Lions’ dominant play at Suncorp Stadium.

However, they resisted Australia and conceded two late tries to give the hosts some faith to build on the following week.

When he was Warren Gatland’s side’s defense coach, Farrell recalled how Australia fought back to win the second Test of the 2013 series.

“We do take encouragement from [Saturday’s] display, but we also know what’s coming,” Farrell said.

“We are aware of what transpired in the second half of this match, and we go into the third game knowing exactly what transpired in 2013.

We anticipate a different game the following weekend because it is difficult to handle when an Australian team is in desperate need.

“This Australia’s second game was a lot better for them, and they’ll be much better as a result of that,” he added. They will be forever affected by it.

Will Skelton and Rob Valetini, who both missed the Brisbane opener with calf injuries, were confirmed by Australia head coach Joe Schmidt that they would be able to play in the second Test.

A significant ball-carrying threat will be provided by Skelton and Valetini in addition to their vitality.

Australia looked out of the game when they early in the second half fell 23-24 behind, but they did so successfully to close the gap.

We fought our way back into the fray, Schmidt remarked. You never know what might have happened if we could have managed to score within one.

“I don’t think the Lions didn’t deserve to win because they did in the first half on the strength of what they did.”

I have a devoted Bond fan base. He’s considered sacred territory in my opinion. I want to carry on the tradition and help pave the way for many more missions to come.

He continued, “This is a huge responsibility, but it’s also incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor. He’s back on screen in no time, and Amy, David, and I are absolutely thrilled. For their trust, we thank Amazon MGM Studios.
