Scots legend Craig retires after knockout UFC loss

Paul Craig, a British boxer, announced his retirement after being defeated by Modestas Bukauskas at UFC Paris, fittingly ending his distinguished 29-fight career.

At the conclusion of the first round at Accor Arena, Craig, the most successful Scottish fighter in UFC history, received a brutal elbow on the ground.

The 37-year-old quit the sport after defeating Jamahal Hill and current light-heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev in nine of his 21 UFC fights.

The young eat the old, and I’m the old, according to this sport. Craig thanked you for the memories.

His 29 fights, with only two decisions in each, demonstrate his ability to put on entertaining fights, with the majority of them coming to a stoppage.

With his six wins by submission being the second-most in light-heavyweight history, after Glover Teixeira’s seven, he established himself as a grappling expert in the UFC.

Craig entered the fight with Lithuanian-Briton Bukauskus with only one victory in eight fights after a five-fight winning streak between 2019 and 2022.

With only one minute left, Bukauskus avoided danger before delivering the knockout blow, as Craig had already finished four of his UFC opponents with his signature triangle choke.

Before falling to his feet, a bleeding and dazed Craig sought medical attention and received a console from Bukauskus.

He thanked the crowd for their memories, who reacted with a huge round of applause, removed his gloves, and placed them in the middle of the canvas.

Molly McCann hung up her gloves in March, making Craig the second major MMA fighter to retire this year.

Hevyweight champion Tom Aspinall praised Craig’s “amazing career” while UFC star Aljamain Sterling praised the UFC’s Aljamain Sterling.

Craig ranked among the all-time light-heavyweight champions of the UFC.

Loose Women star hits out at ‘cruel’ cuts by ITV ahead of schedule changes

Loose Women will only be broadcasting for 30 weeks of the year on ITV, which will cause Sherrie Hewson to react. From January, the daytime schedule will change.

A Loose Women panellist has criticised the decision to reduce the output of the long-running ITV show. It follows the news of several changes to the broadcaster’s daytime schedule from the start of next year.

The show will begin airing only for 30 weeks of its runtime starting in January, according to a May announcement. It will be broadcast on a “seasonable basis” for an additional hour between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. According to ITV, the schedule changes “were in part due to it]generating savings that will allow it to reinvest the program budget in other genres.”

Sherrie Hewson, 74, who was a panellist on Loose Women between 2003 and 2017, has now questioned the decision to reduce the number of episodes. She’s suggested that it is “cruel,” describing the show as a “lifeline” to some viewers.

She told the Sun: “For women of all ages, those up to 95 down to younger women at home with young children, it’s like therapy to them.” Sherrie added that it “feels cruel and sad” that the broadcaster is cutting episodes of Loose Women, which she said can “bring anger and emotions. “

The actor claimed that viewers “need shows where they can shout out to the TV.” The outlet then continued, saying, “Some people are lonely and it’s their only source of comfort during the day. They use it as a lifeline.”

Sherrie argued that “TV should be a source of joy,” before adding that Loose Women offers the opportunity to “join in.” She predicted that “a lot of people” will miss the show over the coming weeks if it isn’t on next year.

She stated in the interview that was released earlier this weekend, “I know there are budget cuts, I know there are constraints.” However, she criticized Lorraine and Loose Women as “being affected by this,” calling it “such a shame”.

Sherrie reportedly works in nursing homes and told the outlet that Loose Women is “so crucial” for dementia patients living in these settings. She claimed that it “keeps them alive.” They feel as though they are “interacting,” and she observes them closely.

ITV announced upcoming changes to its daytime schedule in May. It was revealed that, from January next year, Good Morning Britain (GMB) will be extended by 30 minutes, with the show soon to be running from 6am to 9.30am daily.

Lorraine will be shortened by 30 minutes, running from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., and will only air on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks a year. GMB will be broadcast between 6am and 10am during the weeks when it isn’t on.

This Morning will remain in its 10am to 12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year. Loose Women will stay in its 12.30pm to 1.30pm slot but will only air on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the years when the changes happen.

Additionally, it was made known that ITV News’ London-based GMB team will work there. While ITV Studios will continue to produce Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women, which will be televised from a new city location.

The changes were described in a statement released at the time by Kevin Lygo, managing director of ITV’s Media and Entertainment division. He added, “Daytime is a really important part of what we do, and these scheduling and production changes will allow us to continue to deliver a schedule that gives viewers the news, debate, and discussion they love from the presenters they know and trust.” It also saves money, which will allow us to reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.

He continued, adding that the adjustments would increase the news output. At a time when our viewers are more demanding for accurate, unbiased news coverage than ever, he added, “These changes also allow us to consolidate our news operations, expand our national, international, and regional news output.”

Kevin continued, “I am aware that our plans will have an impact on Daytime production teams’ off-screen staff, and we will work with ITV Studios and ITN to help them transition.” As we approach the eighth decade, ITV will continue to offer viewers award-winning news, views, and discussion as a key component of its programming for more than 40 years.

Harry Styles ‘breaks character’ with Zoe Kravitz as he’s in ‘happiest place’

A source claims that the singer is “so happy” with the actress and that “they’re just having fun” with Zoe Kravitz after being photographed on a number of dates.

Harry Styles is reportedly in the “happiest” place of his life after embarking on a fresh romance with Zoë Kravitz. The 31-year-old former One Direction heartthrob has been snapped strolling arm in arm with actress Zoë, 36, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this week.

It marks their latest outing after they were first romantically connected when spotted together in August in Rome. At the time, they enjoyed a romantic stroll through the city. Zoë, who possesses a flat in Williamsburg, previously occupied the property with her former fiancé Channing Tatum.

And a source revealed that “Harry wouldn’t have gone public with Zo if it weren’t anything.” It’s so difficult to date a celebrity. They are just having fun, and the design is brand-new and fresh.

The insider continued to tell Page Six, “Harry doesn’t label this stuff.” Additionally, another source confirmed the allegations, saying “He’s just having a great time, Harry is the happiest he’s ever been.”

Since wrapping up his two-year global tour in Italy in July 2023, Harry has been secluded from the public eye. He “worked his a** off” during the stint, according to friends, and has since focused on a more peaceful schedule.

In addition to completing the Tokyo marathon in March and observing Pope Francis deliver a speech at St Peter’s Square in May, he has also participated in visiting neighborhood cafés close to his Hampstead residence while blending into the crowds while wearing baseball caps and dark glasses.

Over the Labor Day weekend, Harry was also spotted at the Parisian wedding of Instagram bigwig Charles Porch and philanthropist Robert Denning. Carole Radziwill, star of The Real Housewives of New York, revealed that the pop heartthrob assisted her up the steps of Le Bristol hotel.

A handsome @harrystyles, the brains behind the beauty brand Violet Grey, graciously lent her his arm like Cinderella’s prince, as Cassandra Grey shared on Instagram.

Before their split in October, Zo, the daughter of rock legends Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, was previously engaged to Karl Glusman and engaged to Channing Tatum last year.

She recently spotted promoting her film Caught Stealing alongside Austin Butler’s co-star.

After meeting on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, Harry and Olivia Wilde, 41, started a two-year romance in 2020 and 2022. Since then, he’s been linked to Ella Kenny, Taylor Russell, Olivia Dean, and Emily Ratajkowski.

Additionally, Pals discovered Harry is working on new songs for a release in 2025 on Page Six. One friend continued, “It’s in Harry’s nature to be like, You have to miss me.” He can’t be in your face; instead, he’s enjoying his free time, writing music at his own pace, and not being told by labels, “You need to deliver on this day.”

Katie Price makes bombshell marriage admission as she admits ‘suffering’

Kate Price acknowledges that, despite having some happy memories of her union with Peter Andre, she has endured almost 20 years of suffering as a result of their split.

Katie and Kerry Katona appeared on stage talking about their marriage.

Katie Price has opened up about the breakdown of her marriage to Peter Andre – but insists there are “happy memories”. The former glamour model and telly star was joined by her friend Kerry Katona for the opening night of their joint tour at Marine Hall in Fleetwood tonight, where the friends of more than two decades spoke openly about their lives.

On their tour, Price, 47, and Katona, 45, will stop in cities like New Brighton, Ellsmere Port, Stockport, and London. Talk soon turned to their ex-husbands during the opening night.

It comes after Katie found herself under fire from her first husband, Peter, who issued a blistering statement as he vowed that things ought to stop. Taking to Instagram, Andre said he would be setting the record straight following “repeated lies” from Price and her family, throughout which he had stayed silent.

He continued, “The most recent comments about the welfare and living conditions of my children compel me to set the record straight.” Junior and Princess were placed with me until they were adults in 2018 for well-known reasons and for their safety.

The family courts issued a legally binding order to carry out this agreement in 2019. Out of respect for my children, I’ve never made this public.

“My ex-wife made false claims in court cases that were publicly documented in 2011 and 2015.” She was also required to apologize to me and my management and pay substantial damages and legal costs. Today, the same lies are being made. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet addressed any of the lies and false accusations I have heard. In the upcoming months, those will now be addressed.

Kerry made a joke about how sorry she had placed Katie and Peter on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Due to his pop career, Peter already had a management team after they left the jungle, according to Katie.

She continued, “Well, he had a manager,” adding, “I needed to be careful with how I word things now because I wanted to be with Pete and Pete wanted to be with me.” Kerry interrupted, saying, “I’ll say it. She ultimately managed me, Pete, and… We were three in the marriage.

Katie continued: “There are memories. They were very good memories. I’ve suffered 16 years cause of it, from when I split up I’ve had 16 years of hell. But I’m glad now that the truth is coming out on social media and people are seeing.” An audience member told the Mirror: “Kerry jumped in joking saying ‘I’ll say it’ when Katie seemed hesitant to talk candidly due to legal concerns. There was a huge wave of support for her when she did open up. Say what you like about Katie but she has a fierce support base.”

This week, Katie found herself at Number Two on the Official Download Charts with her 2017 track, I Got U, with sources claiming it was “revenge” after a turbulent time. A source told us that the move had left Katie “on top of the world.”

Our source claims that Katie is delighted and that this is “real revenge” for everyone that has recently occurred due to the drama. She has been so hurt and feels like she has always been cast as the bad guy, so this has really helped her when she needed it most, she said. “She won’t go quietly where the haters are concerned.”

Fans who show their support for Katie’s single and purchasing tickets to the show, according to the source, has helped them cope with a high-pressure situation a little bit. Katie has struggled to defend herself against her exes, which has been difficult. She appears to have held much of what has transpired in her mind, according to them, and she does. She always threatened to fight back, but she appreciates it when she finally has some self-assurance and support.

Pool C of the Women’s Rugby World Cup: Ireland vs. New Zealand

Brighton &amp Hove Albion Stadium Date: Sunday, September Kick-off: 14:45 BST

Coverage on BBC Two and the BBC iPlayer starting at 14:30, BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra starting at 14:30, and BBC Radio Ulster and Foyle starting at 14:00, with text commentary from the BBC Sport website.

When the teams reunite in Brighton on Sunday to decide the World Cup Pool C winner, Ireland’s Edel McMahon believes New Zealand will “definitely” have revenge on their minds.

Ireland stunned the Black Ferns late on at the WXV1 finals last year in Vancouver, winning 29-27 against the world champions with a last-gasp Erin King try and Dannah O’Brien conversion.

McMahon believes that Ireland have gained the “respect” of their rivals despite the many changes both teams have made for the match.

The co-captain remarked, “I’m sure they felt more than they wanted to take us for granted from the last outing.”

We only have the ability to dictate how the opposition plays and prepares for the game.

It’s not surprising that teams will take this Irish team more seriously, as they have in the lead up to this World Cup.

The Irish defeated New Zealand in their final World Cup match in 2014, but they have since triumphed in both 2017 and 2021.

Despite the talents of Jorja Miller and Portia Woodman-Wickliffe grabbing attention, McMahon insists Ireland’s focus is on the collective. This is their goal for a third straight victory and seventh overall.

The skilled flanker asserted, “It’s not about isolating any players.”

New Zealand deserves respect for how we have produced and performed over the past two years, but we also deserve respect for how we have treated them.

Dickson denies Bears to steer Somerset to Finals Day

Features of Rex

Taunton Vitality Blast quarter-final

Bears 190-6 (20 overs): Davies 71, Green 2-30

Somerset 191-6 (19.5 overs): Dickson 71*, Abell 51, Hannon-Dalby 3-24

By four wickets, Somerset won.

On a nail-biting night under the lights of Taunton, Sean Dickson led Somerset to a record-equalling 11th appearance at T20 Blast finals day as the Bears’ quarter-final curse once more took hold.

With one ball left, Dickson hit Ed Barnard for two sixes and a four to send his team over the line. The final score required 19 to prevail.

The 34-year-old started at 80-3 with 11 runs per over required, but he first supported Tom Abell (51) before taking center stage with an unbeaten 71 coming from 26 balls. A Somerset victory appeared unlikely.

Bears captain Alex Davies batting against SomersetGetty Images

Bears arrived in the south west as underdogs after playing their first game in the Blast since 2023 and fielding a side without an international player.

Rob Yates (25) hammering 24 from Australian paceman Meredith’s first set of six when Davies struck the final ball of Craig Overton’s opening over for four.

With their first six overs to go, the visitors ran to 82-1, setting a new tournament record.

Davies recorded 71 runs with 13 fours in a final T20 innings at Taunton, but when he became one of Ben Green’s (2-30) two victims, the Bears lost momentum. Only 63 of those runs came from the final 8.3 overs, and for the first time in Blast history, a side failed to hit a six until the final T20 innings at Taunton.

Somerset’s first innings was more difficult than their opponents’, with the home crowd’s performance unusually subdued as their team consistently lost wickets.

When Dickson joined Abell at the wicket, the home side’s chances of winning a third title sounded to be waning. They still needed 111 more runs from under 10 overs when the latter fell for 51 with 57 still needed.

Despite having a short match time in the format, Hannon-Dalby (34) bowled superbly, but the South African kept Somerset in the game while wickets fell at the other end.
