Mariah Carey has entertained fans with her sassy remark about Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s star-studded wedding. The billionaire Amazon boss caused controversy over his $50million nuptials in Italy.

He tied the knot in Venice despite threats and protests by anti-capitalists and locals. The 25-minute wedding ceremony saw the pair exchange vows in front of around 200 high profile guests, including the Kardashian-Jenners, Orlando Bloom and Oprah Winfrey, as well as Ivanka Trump and her family.

Rania Al Abdullah, the Queen of Jordan also watched on, as did supermodels, actors and business-people. However, among those not on the guest list was Mariah.

The singer, 56, was asked her thoughts on the lavish wedding, with fans thinking she threw some subtle shade at the newlyweds in her response. While out over the weekend, a photographer asked: “What did you think about Jeff Bezos’ wedding?”

In the clip, which has since gone viral, Mariah quipped: “I wasn’t there.” Many fans thought her three-word response struck a familiar cord with Mariah’s infamous “I don’t know her” line about Jennifer Lopez in 2003.

Mariah was probed even further about Bezos and Sanchez as she was asked: “Were you not invited or what?” The Grammy winner responded: “Oh, don’t turn this into that.”

Fans loved Mariah’s witty response as one said: “I don’t think she knows them [crying emoji].” Another joked: “Who? What wedding she doesn’t know it.” Someone else commented: “Her saying I wasn’t there she clearly knows who he is come on.”

“Love she had a sense of humor about it,” praised another. Jeff and Lauren caused controversy with their wedding, and the high profile guests have also received backlash for attending.

Protestors gathered in Venice at Santa Lucia train station armed with banners that read “If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax.” The demonstration is believed to have been organised by the No Space For Bezos group.

A few members of the group were seen laden with Amazon boxes that had the words “ordered, shipped, delivered, rejected” written on them. Not only did people on social media criticise the wedding, so did Hollywood celebrities like Charlize Theron and Rosie O’Donnell.

Charlize spoke about the nuptials while at the fifth annual block party for her charity, Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project and said she was okay with not getting an invitation.

“I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding, but that’s okay because they suck and we’re cool,” the Oscar winner said. She went on to thank people for coming to her charity event, “especially when the world feels like it’s burning because it is.”

Rosie O’Donnell also criticised Jeff in the form of a poem shared on her Substack. “It turned my stomach / Seeing all these billionaires / Gathering in the gross excess of it all / The show of it,” she wrote.

“Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos / Really – how is that possible / He treats his employees with disdain / By any metric he is not a nice man.”

She then took aim at Lauren before hyping up his ex-wife MacKenzie Scott. “And his fake fem bot wife / Who looks like that / Why would he choose her / After the salt of the earth Mackenzie.”

Yungblud was joined on stage by Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne touring keyboardist Adam Wakeman, Anthrax’s Frank Bello on bass, Nuno Bettencourt on guitar, and Sleep Token’s II on drums.

Before the farewell concert began, the Doncaster performer gave Ozzy a custom cross.

Ozzy gave me his gold cross while filming The Funeral, and he said, “I hope this brings you luck,” Yungblud said of the special moment backstage.

“I figured it was time for me to return the favor and let him know how important he and the band are to me at this monumental moment,” he said.

He captioned the clip: “my f****** hero]bat emoji] (sic)”

When he presented Ozzy with a large wooden box, he said, “I made you something.” You eluded me, and I wanted to give you something because I made you.

Kindle Scribe

The most recent, second-generation Kindle Scribe, which was released in December of this year, has a modernized software and a fresh design. It’s the largest Kindle available thanks to its 10.2-inch screen, which is ideal if you want a bigger display for reading.

The Scribe’s size is a result of a dual purpose, according to the Express, which allows you to create your own E-Ink notebooks for use at work or on the go.

Because of this, the Scribe comes with a stylus pen. You can also annotate e-books that you bought from the Kindle Store in addition to taking notes. This feature is especially useful if you enjoy taking notes while reading for pleasure or research, and it’s a real plus if you’re studying for exams on your Kindle for school or university.

The size of the Scribe isn’t just about the screen. It offers the longest battery life of any Kindle, promising up to 12 weeks of use, even with the backlight on, for reading at least 30 minutes per day. Although a cable is included in the box, the Kindle is not charged via USB-C.

You will receive a free update to the Scribe software from Amazon. This includes word-processed text summaries, which are made possible by AI-powered notebook summarization, making them ideal for separating up long-term thoughts or breaking down meeting notes.

Additionally, the update makes it possible to write notes in e-book margins or attach a sticky note anywhere on the page to create a flow around the note.

Amazon has confirmed that this deal will be available throughout Prime Day, from July 8 to July 11, but only while stocks last. To find out more about Amazon Prime Day sales and discounts, click here.

Noni Madueke has been signed by Chelsea, and Arsenal has made contact with them.

The Gunners had already made an official approach to Madueke last week, according to BBC Sport, before any potential move.

According to reports, Chelsea are interested in paying around £50 million for the England international, who is 23.

Madueke started for Chelsea in the Club World Cup after beating Brazilian side Fluminense 2-0 to reach the final of the competition.

Since relocating to Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, the wideman has scored 20 goals.

Before completing four and a half years in the Netherlands, Madueke attended Tottenham’s academy.

With Rodrygo and Eberechi Eze both being considered for attacking positions, Arsenal are looking to expand their options.

Everton sign Villarreal striker Barry for £27m

Thierno Barry’s transfer from Villarreal to Everton for £27 million has been completed.

The Toffees’ four-year contract runs until the end of June 2029 for the France Under-21 striker.

Everton negotiated a lower fee for Barry, who scored 11 goals and contributed four assists in 38 games last season as the Spanish club finished fifth in La Liga and qualified for the Champions League. However, Barry had a £34.5 million release clause in his Villarreal contract.

After Dominic Calvert-Lewin left at the end of his contract, he will strengthen Everton’s attacking options.

Barry expressed his happiness on Everton TV. “It’s very exciting to be here,” said one.

“The Premier League’s Everton is a significant club. Romelu Lukaku and Wayne Rooney are two notable players who have played here over the years.

“When I was younger, I liked to watch these players; now I want to like these players who have already gone.”

Armando Broja, a forward who was also on loan, resigned from Chelsea without a permanent deal.

Barry was born in Lyon, and he left French club Sochaux at the age of 19 to join Belgian second division club Beveren.

What Barry might have to offer Everton as an aerial threat

Barry’s rapid development in recent seasons will be affirmed by a 22-year-old Premier League move.

He left French fifth-tier football just three years ago, and he moved to Belgian second-tier club Beveren in July 2022.

He finished his first season of top-flight football with 12 goals, including 20 goals in 28 starts, to earn a move to Basel a year later.

Villareal was given a 15 million euros (£13 million) for his services in August after a flurry of eight goals in the first four matches of 2024-25.

In addition to the likes of Leipzig’s in-demand Benjamin Sesko, PSG’s Bradley Barcola, and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, Barry was one of the elite group of players under the age of 23 who scored 10 or more goals in Europe’s top five leagues last year.

Barry won 66.7% of his 153 challenges (minimum 100 aerial duels), which placed him as a significant threat in the air. He was also ranked second behind all other forwards in Europe’s major leagues (and top of anyone in La Liga) for aerial duel success in 2024-25.

It is a crucial component of Barry’s game for Moyes, whose teams typically receive a lot of crosses into the box.

The examination began on May 12, 2025, and ended on May 23, 2025.

NECO management and several secondary school principals from across the nation attended the award committee meeting, which made the decision to release.

NECO has approved the dates and schedule for the 2025 BECE resit in addition to the results’ release. The re-sit test, which will cover the two core subjects required for senior secondary school, will be held on July 23 and 24, 2025.

Candidates who want to take part in the resit are expected to do the necessary preparations in the Council’s forthcoming guidelines.

NECO urged schools and candidates to check results and find out more about the re-sit process on its official website or approved channels.

Sani said the release is in line with NECO’s ongoing efforts to maintain credibility and transparency in the organization of its exams and results-mining.
