MAFS star Georges Berthonneau claims Celebs Go Dating bosses snubbed him from show

The former Married At First Sight UK contestant wanted to try dating on a different reality show, but Channel 4 executives refused to let him appear on a second season.

A Married At First Sight UK star has claimed he was banned from appearing on Celebs Go Dating, despite pleas for him to do so.

Georges Berthonneau has revealed he was not welcomed on Celebs Go Dating, despite begging producers to give him a chance.

The reality star, who is known for appearing on the 2023 series of MAFS, said he was eager to go on the celebrity Channel 4 dating show. But according to Georges, he was quickly knocked back.

“I would be brilliant on a show like that,” he told The Sun. “I did Celebs Go Dating years ago, but they’re not interested. They said they’re not interested. They don’t want anyone from MAFS, they only wanted Ella [Morgan].”

When Georges, 31, suggested he would make compelling television, his employers allegedly refused to even hear him out.

He said, “You’re missing out on a trick here.” You may show you some of my older, illustrious photos. No one has ever done that, in my opinion. You would have a completely different story.

He continued, “No, you went on MAFS.” No, you participated in MAFS; instead, we are not interested. Cool, that’s okay. Your loss

Georges previously appeared on Celebs Go Dating back in 2018, where he was paired up with TOWIE favourite Chloe Sims. Despite his recent rejection from E4 bosses, the reality star insists he would jump at the chance to take part in another romantic series.

He declared, “I would]do it within a heartbeat.” “Because there aren’t any genuine blokes on the television anymore,” he said. I don’t resemble any of them, either. They all have handbags, fake teeth, and tattoos of their own. They all have six packs, are all skinny, and are all that and more. I am incredibly unique. I’m actually interesting, and I chat, too.

Just months after the cameras stopped rolling, Georges’ marriage to Peggy Rose from his time on MAFS ended in heartache. Later, Peggy claimed that as Georges’ obsession with fame increased, their relationship began to deteriorate.

She made a jab at her ex-husband last October, saying that “boys like attention, especially when boys haven’t had the attention before.” They tend to be a little big-headed, in my opinion.

The couple split at the start of 2024, when Peggy accused Georges of cheating after receiving messages showing him on dates with another woman.

Peggy claims that during a romantic getaway in Paris, he started to doubt her. They parted ways at the end of January of that year, and a girl contacted the Kent local to offer ‘proof’ that Georges and someone else were having affairs in December of that year.

She said at the time, “I was heartbroken. I can recall crying out loud. Georges refuted the accusations, claiming that Peggy’s actions during their marriage caused him to leave.

He resisted saying, “I never cheated on her.” She gaslighted, was manipulative, and would never let me down again. Now it’s boring.

GB claim world gold, silver and bronze in Shanghai

British Rowing/Benedict Tufnell

The men’s and women’s eights both placed on the podium at the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai, continuing their dominance in the PR3 mixed coxed four.

For the first time since winning Paralympic gold at the Paris Games in 2024, the PR3 mixed coxed quartet of Frankie Allen, Giedre Rakauskaite, Ed Fuller, and Josh O’Brien, along with newly chosen cox Tom Bryce, were competing together.

Rakauskaite became the joint most decorated woman in the category by taking her career total to six world golds in PR3: five in the mixed coxed four and one in the women’s pair.

The Dutch also won the women’s eights, with the GB crew coming in third place, but the men’s eights were unable to defend their crown, finishing in second place behind the Netherlands.

Because I now have a record, this means a lot. Rakauskaite, 34, who also holds two Paralympic gold medals in the PR3 mixed coxed four, is “so proud of that – it’s a big one for me.”

She and fellow Briton Naomi Riches, Norway’s Birgit Skarstein, and Corne de Koning from the Netherlands, all have six world titles in PR3.

Germany came in third, seven seconds ahead of China, while the British team came in seventh.

Allen once said, “The nerves on the start line stay the same despite being unbeaten.” I believe you have a target on your back if you win more. So it encourages us to keep moving as quickly as possible and also pushes the limits.

Will Stewart, Archie Drummond, David Bewicke-Copley, Fergus Woolnough, Miles Beeson, Sam Nunn, Matt Aldridge, Matt Rowe, and cox Will Denegri, the British men’s eight team, fought it out in the final seconds to take silver.

After the race had to be re-started due to a technical issue, a much-changed boat showed calm heads to maintain their form.

We put up a good fight, Aldridge said, and we could have rolled over. I’m really happy for these guys and look forward to what comes next because it’s a young crew with little international experience.

Eleanor Brinkhoff, Juliette Perry, Amelia Standing, Martha Birtles, Lauren Irwin, Eve Stewart, Heidi Long, Megan Slabbert, and cox Jack Tottem also had a strong performance to earn their first world medal in the event since 2011.

Strictly’s Thomas Skinner’s wife took a long time to forgive him over ‘awful’ affair

Since his name was announced as a member of the BBC dance series this year, Thomas Skinner has been the subject of controversy.

Thomas Skinner, the star of Strictly Come Dancing, claimed that his wife Sinead overtly condoleed him over her affair with Amy-Lucy O’Rourke.

Just weeks after marrying his wife Sinead, Thomas, 34, recently admitted to having a “one-off fling” with beauty expert Amy-Lucy. Amy-Lucy later refuted Thomas’ claims, saying that the couple had been having a three-month relationship.

After Amy-Lucy’s revelations, Thomas has since stated how his wife Sinead has been “awful” by witnessing the scandal. After the birth of their son in October 2020, Thomas and Sinead tied the knot in May 2022. In June 2023, they welcomed twin daughters.

Even though Thomas’ affair was three years old, it recently gained attention before his Strictly debut.

Thomas has now explained how his wife managed to forgive him for the fling and how she feels the same way about it.

He said, “I know the mistakes I’ve made in my life, but it was awful for my poor wife to read it all, which is why I feel bad.”

Thomas continued, “We had already left this,” Thomas continued to write to the Daily Mail. I’m working hard and currently viewed in the public eye. My wife needs to read something she has read to get through, and my entire life has been squandered and repurposed.

The Strictly star, who is working with Amy Dowden on the series, also revealed how his wife forgived him. He continued, “We have worked at it for a long, long time until she forgives me.” Although I won’t ever claim to be perfect, it was heartbreaking to see my wife go through this. But she asserted that it wouldn’t compromise us or cause us to fall apart. She said, “I love her and she loves me to pieces.

Thomas also disclosed that his wife will attend his first live performance on Strictly until he is chosen to leave the show. The performance will take place tonight.

Due to his centre-right political stance, outspoken rants on X, and connections to Donald Trump’s vice president JD Vance, Thomas’ signing hasn’t been a popular choice among Strictly fans. However, the Apprentice star has maintained a positive outlook on his Strictly journey.

Professional dancer Amy sent a message to her partner ahead of his first live performance dance with Amy Dowden.

She wrote, “Today is the day! ” on Instagram. I’m so excited to dance on the magical @bbcstrictly floor with my amazing partner @iamtomskinner for the first live performance. Watching Tom develop a love for dancing and seeing improvement each day has been such a wonderful experience.

His day job “couldn’t be any easier” to dance and perform. We worked really hard, and we had a great time. I’ve got to know how much fun family man Tom is! Let’s have fun with this! Can’t wait to find a partner.

Palestinian statehood: Recognition amidst erasure?

The Western powers have now signed synchronized declarations acknowledging Palestinian statehood, a diplomatic move that appears to have been a result of Israeli-led genocide in Gaza, for almost two years. The only thing left out of the narrative is how effective those governments could be in stopping the massacre in Gaza and their complicity by continuing to supply weapons to Israel.

Dani Dyer’s sweet message to Strictly Come Dancing co-stars ahead of first live show

Dani Dyer, a star of Love Island, was forced to leave the Strictly Come Dancing studio days before her first dance on the series’ first live performance. She had a painful injury.

After being forced to leave the show earlier this week due to an injury, Dani Dyer has now shared a sweet message to her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars.

Following a fall during rehearsals that caused her to fracture her ankle, it was made public on Tuesday that the 29-year-old would no longer be able to compete in the show. Dani has sent her co-stars a message of support despite being unable to participate.

Taking to her Instagram stories, the mum-of-three wrote: “Good luck to all the gorgeous cast starting there Strictly journey tonight. Can’t wait to watch you all, so proud & know how hard you’ve all been working.. see you all soon.”

The official Strictly Come Dancing Instagram page revealed the sad news of Dani’s exit as they captioned it: “Unfortunately due to an injury Dani Dyer is no longer able to compete in #Strictly 2025. She’ll be sorely missed and we wish her a speedy recovery.”

Dani remarked, “I fell on Friday during rehearsals and landed funny. My foot swelled up so much over the weekend, and it turns out I’ve broken my ankle after an MRI yesterday.

I was forced to leave the show because it seemed like performing the Quickstep on a broken leg was not recommended and because the doctors had told me I was not allowed to dance.

The biggest understatement is to say I’m heartbroken. Although I’m going to miss Nikita dancing, I’ll definitely be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.

Following the news, Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios added: “Dani has brought so much passion, joy and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start.

Everyone on the show is deeply sad that she is unable to compete in the current series this year. We wish her the best recovery possible and express our love to her in the future.

Dani’s professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin took to his own Instagram to share how “gutted” he was to not perform with her on a live show. He penned: “So so gutted to have finished our journey before it even properly started.

“We had an incredible amount of fun and laughs in such a short amount of time!” After posting a number of photos and videos of the two of them in rehearsals and at the launch show, Nikita wrote, “Really loved our partnership and hope that one day we can actually get to week one.”

He continued, “breaking my heart,” and said he was hoping for the best for her because she was so eager to watch the show. He said, “Hopefully we can pick up next year.”

Dani responded, “It brought me to tears.” She stated, “I’m crying again,” in Nikita’s post comments. Thank you for being the best teacher you have ever had, for being the most generous and amazing. We’re going to miss our laughs and dancing with you; let’s try again one day and arrange our team name.

Iraq resumes Kurdish oil exports to Turkiye after two-and-a-half-year halt

Following a two-and-a-half-year deadlock caused by legal and technical issues, Iraq resumed its exports of crude oil to Turkiye from the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region.

According to a statement from the Iraqi oil ministry on Saturday, the resumption of operations was at 6am local time (03:00 GMT). The ministry claimed that “operations started at a quick pace and with complete smoothness,” and that no significant technical issues were found.

Alparslan Bayraktar, the minister of energy in Turkey, provided additional confirmation in a post on X.

The agreement between Iraq’s federal government, the Kurdistan regional government, and regional oil producers operating in the area will allow the flow of 180, 000 to 190, 000 barrels of crude to Turkiye’s Ceyhan port, according to the oil minister’s statement to Kurdish broadcaster Rudaw on Friday.

Following a tripartite agreement reached earlier this week between the ministry, the ministry of natural resources, and international oil companies operating in the area, the resume is scheduled to resume.

At a time when the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is increasing output to increase market share, the United States had pushed for a restart, which is anticipated to eventually bring up 230, 000 bpd of crude back to international markets. In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised the agreement, saying it “will bring tangible benefits to both Americans and Iraqis.”

According to state news agency INA on Saturday, Iraq’s OPEC delegate, Mohammed al-Najjar, said his nation can export more than it can now now, in addition to other planned projects at Basra port, according to the state news agency INA.

He claimed that “OPEC member states have the right to demand an increase in their production shares, especially if they have projects that have increased production capacity.”

The region’s Kurdistan-based businesses will receive $ 16 per barrel to cover production and transportation costs. Within 30 days of exports, the eight oil companies that signed the agreement and the Kurdish government have agreed to meet to discuss a solution to settle the $1 billion debt the region owes to the firms.

Baghdad and Erbil have been at odds with one another over their lucrative oil exports, with the agreement being seen as a step toward stabilizing the relationship between Baghdad’s central government and the Kurdish region and raising Iraq’s oil revenues.

Prior to now, the Kurdish authorities independently sold oil exports through the port of Ceyhan in Turkiye, without the federal government’s approval or oversight.

The International Chamber of Commerce in Paris ordered Turkiye to pay $ 1.5 billion in damages to Iraq for unauthorised exports by the Kurdish regional authorities in March 2023, which was the reason the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline was shut down.
