The Prince and Princess of Wales were visiting their home with their children nearby on a day when an intruder is said to have climbed over the wall to enter Windsor Castle, but the intruder was quickly detained by police.

An intruder sparked a royal security scare after they allegedly broke into the grounds of Windsor Castle. The man is said to have climbed over the wall to get in the castle grounds on Sunday before he was quickly detained by officers from the Metropolitan Police, which is responsible for security at the royal residence.
A man in his 30s was then handed over to the local police force, Thames Valley, before being arrested on suspicion of trespass and possession of a Class A drug. It has been reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales, were at their Adelaide Cottage home on the Windsor estate at the time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. However, as the intruder is said to have entered the grounds near Town Gate, it was some distance away from the royals’ home.

The man is also said to have not entered the inner buildings of Windsor Castle. A source told The Sun: “He broke into the castle near Town Gate and was quickly detained by police. It was a crazy thing to do and caused quite a stir but at this stage it appears there was no intent to cause any serious harm.”
A 30-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of trespassing on a protected site and of possessing Class A drugs after entering Windsor Castle’s restricted grounds, according to a Met Police spokesperson.
“Officers in the grounds spotted the man just after 13:00hrs on Sunday, 1 June and quickly arrested him. He was then passed into the custody of Thames Valley Police.”

Meanwhile, Thames Valley Police reported that a man entered Windsor Castle’s restricted grounds shortly after 1pm on Sunday, June 1. Met police quickly arrested him after challenging him. He avoided entering Windsor Castle’s interior.
He was detained on suspicion of trespassing on a public property and possessing class A drugs. Thames Valley Police are looking into his bail, and an investigation is ongoing.
Just last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales suffered another terrifying security breach after masked intruders allegedly smashed down a barrier and scaled a six-foot fence to get access to the Windsor Castle estate.
The two men allegedly entered the estate at night to break into a barn to steal farm vehicles before departing on a pick-up truck and quad bike.
William and Kate were reportedly sleeping with their three children at Adelaide Cottage when King Charles and Queen Camilla were not present at the time.

An inquest has determined that the daughter of a former Glamorgan and England cricket player could have been saved if she had received the appropriate care.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Bethan James, 21, from Cardiff, had died on February 9, 2020, and had died from a combination of sepsis, pneumonia, and Crohn’s disease.
She had been previously diagnosed with Crohn’s, according to the inquest at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court.
In the days leading up to her death, the hearing was informed that Ms. James had been hospitalized on numerous occasions.
She died the following day after her condition worsened and she was taken to a hospital on February 8.
Her mother informed the coroner that nowhere was the possibility that her daughter had sepsis.
Bethan received treatment at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, according to the inquest.
Ms. James claimed that knowing that her daughter could have been saved would have saved her life. She also claimed that receiving the appropriate care and treatment for sepsis would have saved her.
Steve James, who was born in Gloucestershire and made his Glamorgan debut in 1985, is Bethan’s father.
Before resigning in 2004 due to a long-standing knee injury, he previously worked as an English journalist for the Times.
Tens of thousands of people came home to check on their homes and reunite with loved ones after Sudan’s army recaptured Khartoum, the country’s capital region, in March.
The shock of returning was tempered by the damage that had been done for nearly two years by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary organization that has been fighting the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) since April 2023, which are widely recognized as Sudanese and the UN as the de facto authority there.
Many returnees started becoming sick in a region where the RSF had systematic plundernied hospitals and food and drug stores.

Omdurman falters
In Omdurman, one of the three cities in the country’s capital, where many of the returnees lived, there were only slightly better living conditions. Due to the RSF’s continued presence in several areas of Omdurman, preventing it from frequent clashes, pillaging, and looting, several of them never came under their control.
According to Dr. Dirar Abeer, a member of Khartoum’s Emergency Response Rooms, neighborhood committees spearheading relief efforts across the country, “thousands of people]return] from Egypt alone.”
According to Dr. Abeer, the crowding contributed to the rapid spread of cholera, a severe, highly contagious diarrhoeal disease that is endemic to Sudan and can be fatal if left untreated.
According to Badawi, a volunteer in Omdurman who declined to give his full name because speaking in a warzone is difficult, “There are a lot of corpses rotting next to]or in] the Nile, and this has partially] caused the spread of infection.”
In Sudan, hundreds have died in the past two weeks from cholera, which has spread throughout several states, including White Nile and Gadarif.
Similar to Khartoum, overcrowding and a lacked essential services in these areas contributed to the spread.
According to Fazli Kostan, the project manager for Doctors Without Borders, which is known by its French names as MSF, basic sanitation and provisions could stop the waterborne disease.
However, he claimed that this is not currently possible because Omdurman’s electricity grids went offline on May 14.
The RSF fired a number of suicide drones that day, which severely damaged major power plants and grids, shutting down water treatment plants, and causing a sharp rise in cases.
People have resorted to drinking contaminated water from the Nile and removing water from the ground after it rains because they lack safe drinking and bathing water, according to Badawi.
Between May 15 and May 25, according to the SAF-backed Ministry of Health, a significant rise in daily cholera deaths occurred in the national capital region, with at least 172 people passing away between May 20 and May 27.
According to the UN, daily cases increased from 90 to more than 815 in the latter half of May.
Patients waited patiently in the streets.
The disease-stricken person frequently flies to the closest hospital, putting strain on an already underdeveloped and underprepared health sector. Local volunteers, however, claimed that many people who don’t have life-threatening symptoms would benefit from staying at home and isolating themselves.
According to them, the overcrowding in hospitals has increased the spread of the disease and increased the strain on the already defunct healthcare system.
The rate of patients coming to the hospitals is much higher than we can handle, according to Kareem al-Noor, a doctor at Omdurman’s al-Nao hospital. “We do not have enough medication or medical tools.”
“The remaining hospitals are full, and people are also waiting for treatment, and there are crowded on the streets,” al-Noor continued.
Dr. Abeer believes that the health authorities, which are funded by SAF, are not adequately combating the epidemic. She believes the current health authorities could be doing more, despite the fact that the RSF had largely destroyed the sector.
Al Jazeera emailed Dr. Montasser Towarra, the spokesperson for the MoH, to inquire about the steps the ministry is taking to assist volunteers and provide basic necessities.
By the time this article was published, he had not responded.

A serious hunger crisis also exists in Sudan.
Millions of Sudanese have struggled to feed their families as a result of the civil war’s spoiled harvests, the systematic looting of markets, food aid, and the destruction of homes and livelihoods.
About 25 million people, or more than half the population, are currently experiencing severe food shortages, according to the UN.
According to Alex De Waal, an expert on Sudan and famine, hunger can weaken people’s bodies and cause an acute rise in contagious diseases.
He noted that people who are also near starvation have always been more likely to die from diseases, especially children.
De Waal warned that “we could see an excess of hundreds of thousands of deaths]resulting from these factors over the coming year.”
Up to one million children could perish from cholera unless the spread is stopped right away, according to the UN.
De Waal argued that the only way to address the health crisis is to repair basic infrastructures like water and sewers, which would improve sanitation.
He thinks that the army, which is essentially the ruling body, shouldn’t prioritize fixing the army’s fundamental services.
Nabil Abdullah, a spokesperson for the SAF, was contacted by Al Jazeera to inquire about whether the army plans to repair crucial resources like bombed electricity grids.
According to Abdullah, “The Ministry of Health is in charge of these inquiries, not the army.”
Additionally, the MoH’s Tawarra did not respond to these inquiries.
De Waal believes that the army prioritizes combat operations against the RSF.

Just hours after far-right icon Geert Wilders withdrew support for the coalition government in an immigration-related row, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof announced his resignation.
Wilders announced on Tuesday that his Party for Freedom (PVV) had withdrawn from the right-wing coalition because its three partners had failed to support his efforts to restrict immigration. This caused the government to go into a bind.
“No signature required by our asylum plans.” After a brief meeting of party leaders in parliament, the PVV leader said in a post on X.
Schoof announced he would step down following an emergency cabinet meeting that was set up following Wilders’ announcement.
According to the Reuters news agency, Wilders’s PVV ministers would leave the cabinet, while the rest would continue to serve as a caretaker government, adding that any new elections are likely to be held until October.

‘Irresponsible’
Wilders’ coalition partners accused him of putting his country’s interests before those of his own at a crucial time for Europe.
“Our continent is in a war,” he declared. Wilders is demonstrating that he is unwilling to accept responsibility, according to Dilan Yesilgoz, the leader of the conservative People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy.
The center-right leader of the centrist New Social Contract, Nicolien van Vroonhoven, described the flamboyant far-right figure as “irresponsible at this point.”
The Labour/Green Left alliance’s leader Frans Timmermans said he could not “see any other way to form a stable government” than through early elections.
People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy leader Dilan Yesilgoz claims she was “shocked” by Wilders’ action.
The Netherlands’ “Demise”
The PVV capitalized on Europe’s rising populist tide with promises to combat immigration to claim the most votes in the November 2023 elections, which came in at 23 percent.
However, Schoof, an unelected career bureaucrat, emerged as a compromise candidate after Wilders failed to win enough votes to become prime minister. There was no ministerial position for Wilders.
Wilders has repeatedly criticized the coalition for putting his party’s immigration proposals into practice.
The PVV’s support has dropped to about 20%, matching its polls-reported level with the Labour/Green Left alliance, despite continuing to be popular.
Wilders urged the coalition to approve a 10-point plan to reduce immigration, including mobilizing the army to patrol Dutch borders and rejecting all asylum requests last week.
As he explained his exit, Wilders told reporters on Tuesday, “I signed up for the toughest asylum policy and not the Netherlands’ downfall.”
The decision comes a day after Karol Nawrocki, a nationalist conservative, was declared the winner of Poland’s presidential election, giving right-wing populists a leg up in Europe.
Accidental “double-touch” penalties will only be permitted to be recovered if the kick was successful.
Following controversy in Atletico Madrid’s Champions League last-16 second-leg tie against Real Madrid in March, European football’s governing body Uefa requested that the laws governing these uncommon circumstances be revised.
Julian Alvarez, an Argentina international, slipped as he converted on a penalty kick and made a slight contact with the ball with his standing leg.

However, Uefa stated that it would be in discussions with Ifab and Fifa, the world’s governing body, regarding instances where a double touch is “clearly unintentional.”
