Two more years? Europe captain Donald not ruling out third term

As the celebrations go on in New York, Luke Donald says he won’t “rush into a decision” but that he won’t “hurt into a decision.”

Donald, 47, won a tense victory over the United States in New York, cementing his position as one of Europe’s greatest captains.

After Tony Jacklin in 1985 and 1987, he was the only European captain to win back-to-back Ryder Cup victories.

After performing it so well in Rome, Donald told BBC Sport from the European team’s Long Island hotel on Monday, “a lot of people questioned why I would do it a second time.”

“But I’ve checked both home and away boxes because that’s a different challenge.”

I’ll have to consider whether I do it again.

When the competition resumes at Adare Manor in Ireland on September 17 and 19, Europe will defend the trophy on its own soil in 2027.

Donald also mentioned:

What data are gathered from this quiz?

Donald won’t “hurry” into the captaincy decision.

Donald will become the first European captain to lead the County of County Limerick since Bernard Gallacher in 1995, if he is elected.

Before the 2023 edition, LIV defector Henrik Stenson was informed that he would not be permitted to take the role after a little over a year away from the Rome contest.

His players and thousands of supporters clamoured for the Englishman to be given another term after Donald won the home team a convincing victory.

The same refrain is repeated, “Two more years!” After a tenser-than-expected win, the Englishman reclaimed control of the Ryder Cup at Bethpage on Sunday.

During the team’s victory press conference, the players reverberated.

He remarked, “I’m very humbled and grateful that some of the players and fans were chanting two more years.”

I’ll never rule out doing it three times.

“Everything I do, I sit down and consider it in preparation. What are the costs, what are the goals, and what are the challenges?

I won’t make such a quick decision today. Just enjoy this one, I say.

If Donald does not step down, Justin Rose, who played in Bethpage, has been hailed as a potential replacement, and Francesco and Edoardo, two of Donald’s vice-captains, could be replacements if Europe chooses to advance from within.

As Jon Rahm and Shane Lowry both warned on Sunday, who takes over has a difficult task ahead.

It’s like trying to follow [Manchester United’s] Sir Alex Ferguson into the dressing room. “Lowry told reporters in the paper.

Over the past 12 years, we’ve seen how that has changed. It will be very difficult to fill, in my opinion.

Watson is “happy,” but there is no official US reprimand.

A New York crowd, who had been subjected to intense verbal abuse, was the scene of Europe’s victory.

Tom Watson, the eight-time major champion who twice led the US team in 1993 and 2014, said he was embarrassed by the chaotic scenes.

Our American audience at Bethpage has shown me some crude and mean-spirited behavior, said 76-year-old Watson.

Rory McIlroy, the most famous American talisman, was the main target, and his wife Erica was hit by a beverage cup that swung from one of the stands.

McIlroy claimed that the volume of the personal insults was unacceptable after winning on Sunday.

Any arrests and ejections that occurred over the weekend have been reported to New York State Police, according to information obtained by BBC Sport.

Donald, who praised police officers for handling a tense situation, said, “The behavior needs to be discussed and addressed.

The “the odd people who shout,” “I don’t know how you rein it in. It’s challenging.

“We would love to just play,” said the US team, who made an effort to quieten the crowd.

“Many Americans were reaching out to tell their fans how embarrassed they were of some of their fans. You can control it, but it was a small subset.

Although Watson expressed his gratitude on social media, the US team has not yet issued an official apology.

Donald thanked Keegan Bradley and his players for challenging the crowd with respect, but he also thanked Donald.

Donald responded, “I believe the Americans were acting correctly.

They are aware that they want the crowd to support them but not to be vile toward us.

How Europe recovered from its “most stressful” day

Most people expected a straightforward gallop over the line with Europe holding a record 1112-412 lead going into the Sunday singles.

Instead, the Americans faced a threat to halt their biggest comeback in Ryder Cup history by putting pressure on the hosts.

As thousands of European fans gathered at Bethpage to celebrate with Donald and his jubilant players pouring champagne from their winning press conference and putting green in the air, the relief was palpable.

The team hotel’s families, caddies, and other backroom staff continued to celebrate after the party.

The American contingent was having a separate function at the same hotel.

Donald continued, “It was the most stressful day of my life on a golf course,” adding that he finally had a few glasses after going teetotal in the build-up.

He said, “I thought Rome was stressful, but that beat it quite a bit.”

I once predicted that we would score 20 points before I predicted a loss.

Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea manager, said he “will always be a Blue” but that he is ready to park his loyalty to the team that “helped me become a bigger Jose” for 90 minutes.

On Tuesday, he travels to Stamford Bridge along with his new team, Benfica, in the Champions League.

In Mourinho’s two years in charge, Chelsea won seven major titles, including the Premier League on three occasions, the FA Cup, and three League Cups.

Mourinho, 62, previously held positions in the Premier League at Tottenham and Manchester United, and he took over the Turkish side Fenerbahce this year after being fired in August before making his first appearance at his former club Benfica this month.

At Benfica, the club he joined as a manager in 2000, he has won two games and drawn one of his first three games.

When asked about his relationship with Chelsea, Mourinho declared, “I will always be a Blue.” I’m a part of their history, they say. They are a part of my past. I assisted them in growing Chelsea, and they also assisted me in growing Jose.

Before the start and after the game, Chelsea will be my Chelsea, but my Benfica will be my opponent during the game, which is irrelevant.

Mourinho and Porto won the Champions League in 2004 and Inter Milan the same year.

When Fenerbahce lost 1-0 on aggregate to Benfica in the play-off round to qualify for the Champions League in August, he was appointed as manager.

However, in their first league game, Mourinho replaced Bruno Lage after losing to Azerbaijani side Qarabag, who had previously won the title.

Mourinho, whose professional career included stints at Real Madrid and Roma, stated that he did not anticipate playing for another club.

After 25 years of coaching, I hoped to return to Portugal through the national team rather than Benfica, and now that I’m back, I have no career plans,” Mourinho said. I don’t try to imagine what might or might not happen.

Giving everything is important. I’m very happy and am currently in Benfica. Even for a man who has spent years playing football, it’s a big responsibility. Benfica is a significant responsibility for many reasons.

Mourinho, the self-declared “Special One,” quietly addressed the diverse international media, three times as many as the group that welcomed Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, with a straightforward “Cao.”

Three photos of Mourinho hoisting each of his three Premier League titles are displayed in the room, which is a tribute to Chelsea’s acclaimed managers, along with images of Antonio Conte and Carlo Ancelotti. He joked with Dodi Lukebakio, a charismatic and depressed player, who briefly answered questions prior to the main event.

Jose Mourinho’s return to Chelsea made a special effort at Stamford Bridge, thanks to the efforts of many Chelsea employees.

A masterclass in media conferences was given to them. I’m not a Blue any more, he said when I was asked in Portuguese what the pictures on the wall were. I want to win, but I’m already a Red.

However, he responded, “I will always be a Blue,” when asked a similar question in English. I’m a part of their past. They are a part of my past. I assisted them in growing Chelsea. And they encouraged me to grow bigger Jose. I only speak about the work I have to do tomorrow when I say I’m not a blue.

Despite having stints at Tottenham and Manchester United, those comments also appeared to demonstrate that Mourinho is ready to accept the status of a legend and the home supporters on Tuesday.

Nearly two decades after the first film, The Simpsons is scheduled for release. Following its successful release in 2007, the iconic animation will once more be shown on television.

The new movie adaptation is scheduled to be released on July 23, 2027, according to a social media announcement. Fans are anticipating a feature adaptation of the long-running Matt Groening-created Fox animated series, despite the lack of plot details.

On their Instagram feed, 20th Century Studios confirmed the news. A pink donut adorned with sprinkles in the shape of the number 2 was shared with Homer Simpson in a picture. “Homer is returning for seconds,” the caption of the photo read.

On social media, the new film was made known.

One user wrote: “Bart kept his promise on Twitter/X. The new “SIMPSONS” movie is scheduled for July 23, 2027, replacing a Marvel Studios film’s opening day.

Disney’s second animated feature aimed at older audiences is the second Simpsons film.

Fans went into more detail about the meaning of the Instagram announcement, quoting a famous school board scribble. They kept their word and didn’t wait 20 years for a sequel. One user wrote, “They took 19 years and 363 days.

Another phrase, “I will not wait 20 years to make another movie,”

Another person rephrased the phrase “Is it too early for me to mark my calendar,” and another responded, “Mmm, another Simpson movie… Excellent.”

The first film was released after 400 of the well-known yellow family’s 400 television appearances spanned more than 20 years. Critics received mixed reviews of the film despite enthusiastic fans of the show who were quick to praise the result.

They even claimed Homer had predicted the character’s demise at the beginning when she said, “I can’t believe we’re paying to watch something we did on TV for free!” Everyone in the theater is a giant sucker, if you ask me.

Showrunner Matt Selman recently acknowledged that Variety over the summer that “the streaming platforms have helped the series remain popular” with the animation coming back to theaters.

“Now they can watch it all, all day, all forever,” according to the statement from the parents.

Strictly Come Dancing star Alex Kingston ‘mortified’ over hilarious blunder cut from show

Strictly stars are said to have been “howling with laughter” over an unaired “unintentional innuendo” one of the contestants shared while filming the launch show.

The stars of Strictly Come Dancing are said to have been “howling with laughter” whilst filming the launch over an unaired “unintentional innuendo” from Alex Kingston. Her co-star George Clarke has since recalled the moment.

Alex, 62, who is known for her roles on ER and Doctor Who, is among the contestants on the BBC show this year. She made her debut on the dancefloor in the pre-recorded launch show, which aired two weekends ago after having been filmed in the Strictly studio days prior to its broadcast.

During the episode, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the contestants, with the hosts having been seen asking them questions at one point. It’s since been revealed that one interaction with Alex didn’t get broadcast but had “everyone howling with laughter” at the time.

On a Useless Hotline episode that was released last week, Alex’s co-star George, 25, recalled the incident. The actor claimed to be unintentionally funny on the podcast because of how sweet, lovely, and kind she is, and that’s how he and his co-host Max Balegde put it.

George then stated that not all of Tess and Claudia’s questions to the contestants were included in the launch show’s broadcast date. He claimed that “Alexa was asked one, and she responded very well.” So someone came round before going backstage and said, “That’s good, so we’re gonna get Tess and Claudia to ask a question if you could just kind of lead into that story.”

He continued, “Tess or Claudia later] teed up with, “So you, your family, your friends, they’re big Strictly fans, right? ” How did you explain your initial efforts to them? and [Alex] was the author of the story. But she did it so beautifully.

She responded, “Well, I was actually at my friend’s husband’s birthday, and I know he’s a huge fan, so I thought I would give him a little birthday gift,” so I waited until everyone was asleep before sneaking into his room and telling him I had a secret to share. Then he arrived… We all just wet ourselves, and I could see him getting more and more stiff. And she responded, “No! with fear, fear! “

I can’t even recall what she said next in an effort to save it, George said, “Not helping Alex! “, but it basically doubled down on the bit. And it was hilarious as well. Claudia was wet, just like she once said something in response. She was shocked when she finished it, but it was still good.

A source has told the Mirror: “Alex’s unintentional innuendo had everyone howling with laughter in the studio. She was so shocked when she realised how it sounded.”

Everyone is eager to see what Alex might do on air now that Strictly’s live every Saturday night, they continued, “Sadly there wasn’t time to do the full story justice in the launch show.” Together, she and Claudia should be “TV gold.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
