Man Who Breached Protocol During Tinubu’s Visit Has Psychiatric Disorders — Police

The president’s team, according to the Kaduna State Police Command, had “psychiatric disorders” as a child when they were commissioning projects in Murtala Mohammed Square.

In a statement, the Command’s spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, claimed the person, an Anguwan Muazu native from Kaduna, was Umar Mohammed.

The police acknowledged that the man, who was an All Progressives Congress (APC) supporter, was screened and accepted into the stadium while sporting the typical campaign T-shirt and carrying banners emblazoned with President and Governor Uba Sani, just like everyone else who has been accepted into the stadium.

The person jumped into the restricted arena out of curiosity to see the President, according to the police, who claimed the person had broken the law out of excitement. The security team immediately detained the fellow, according to the police, and the officer was immediately obstructing him.

Smart Policing: GBB, Police Trust Fund Join Forces To Digitize Security

Through the creation and deployment of smart police stations throughout the country, Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) have established a strategic partnership to promote digital transformation in the country’s security sector.

According to reports, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at Galaxy Backbone’s Abuja headquarters as a significant step in the implementation of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Digital Transformation Agenda.

Authorities claim it reflects the two institutions’ commitment to creating a law enforcement system that is both technologically advanced, responsive, and transparent.

The collaboration, according to Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, marked a turning point in Nigeria’s effort to integrate digital governance, during the signing ceremony. This agreement reflects our shared desire for a more inclusive, resilient, and smart Nigeria. We are incorporating cutting-edge technology into the foundation of our security architecture through this partnership,” he said.

GBB will provide high-speed fiber connectivity, cloud computing infrastructure, and cutting-edge ICT tools to support the deployment of smart police stations in accordance with the agreement’s terms. These locations will have advanced policing-related capabilities like artificial intelligence-driven capabilities, digital case management systems, secure communication platforms, and real-time surveillance.

The project is anticipated to shorten police response times, streamline information sharing, and increase transparency throughout police operations, according to the Nigeria Police Trust Fund. Additionally, the Smart Policing initiative hopes to boost public confidence in law enforcement by enabling more reliable and reliable decision-making.

Additionally, Professor Adeyanju noted that the initiative is in line with Galaxy Backbone’s role as the government’s digital backbone, highlighting the value of collaboration in addressing national issues. The future of governance is secure, resilient, and digitally connected. He continued, “This partnership brings us closer to that reality.”

The MoU supports the wider Integrated Digital Transformation Strategy (2025-2028), which aims to expand the scope of technology’s contribution to national development and delivery of public services.

Top GBB and NPTF officials, as well as Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy officials, attended the event. The Nigeria Police Force’s operational effectiveness would be enhanced by this partnership, according to stakeholders’ optimism.

Botafogo Shock PSG In Club World Cup Upset

Paris Saint-Germain suffered a shock 1-0 Club World Cup defeat against Brazilian side Botafogo on Thursday in a hardfought battle between the reigning champions of Europe and South America.

A first-half goal from Brazilian international Igor Jesus proved the difference as Botafogo all but sealed a place in the knockout rounds in front of a 53, 699 crowd at the Pasadena Rose Bowl.

French champions PSG are widely regarded as one of the favourites for FIFA’s 32-team tournament after a dazzling season which culminated with a scintillating 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan in the Champions League final last month.

But their hopes of securing a victory which would have seen them become the first side to reach the last 16 were stymied by a resilient performance from their opponents from Rio de Janeiro.

“A lot of people wondered, but we showed how strong Botafogo is”, goalscorer Jesus said after the win. “It was a difficult game, and we had to defend well, and we did our job and scored a goal.

” We’re really happy — we knew how important this game was. One team was the champion of the Champions League, the other team was the champion of South America, “added Jesus, who had been strongly linked with a move to English Premier League side Nottingham Forest earlier this year before opting to stay with the Brazilians to play in the Club World Cup.

” I think I made the right choice to stay in Botafogo, “Jesus quipped.

‘Intense’

PSG coach Luis Enrique said his team had expected a tough battle.

” We knew it was going to be a very difficult match — they defended very well, “the Spaniard said.

” This Club World Cup is very intense and difficult, and all the teams are highly motivated, especially when they’re playing against us. “

The PSG manager though was adamant that the European champions still had plenty of time to resurrect their campaign.

” If there’s a team that can turn it around, it’s our team, “he said”. We’ve got to analyse this and there’s things we can improve. But I think our performance was good. “

PSG picked up where they had left off in Sunday’s 4-0 Group B rout of Atletico Madrid, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia testing Botafogo goalkeeper John with an early curling effort after just two minutes.

In a scrappy first half, puncted by a number of niggling fouls, the European champions couldn’t settle into their passing game, but that early effort was as close as PSG could get.

Despite dominating possession, Botafogo’s midfield trio of Marlon Freitas, Gregore, and Allan worked tirelessly to stop Vitinha, denying the skilled PSG playmaker the opportunity to launch attacks.

Instead, Botafogo opened the scoring in the 36th minute, going over the break.

Jesus flew past PSG on goal with a perfectly weighted through ball from Jefferson Savarino.

The Botafogo striker misjudiciously headed past PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma before deflecting a fine ball past the covering Willian Pacho.

PSG spent a lot of time in the final third of the second half camped out, but they continued to dominate possession throughout.

The Brazilians are now firmly in the last 16, with a final group game against Atletico Madrid scheduled for Monday in Pasadena, thanks to Botafogo’s defense remaining unwavering.

Kebbi CAN Clarifies Rejected ₦30m Donation, Warns Against Incitement

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged media professionals and bloggers to refrain from making the state governor and the Christian community feel uncomfortable.

Following the public outcry over the alleged rejection of a $30 million donation to a crusade hosted by Pastor Paul Enenche in the state capital, this appeal was made during a press briefing held in Birnin Kebbi.

Sam Audu, the Special Adviser to the Governor for Christian Affairs, clarified the circumstances during the briefing by stating that the Christian community would not reject the donation.

According to Audu, “The Christians did not reject the money.” The state should be benefited by the people, according to “Pastor Enenche,” who merely stated that the $30 million belonged to the state. The state CAN be asked to receive the money, which they did.

Governor Nasir Idris’ continued support of Christians in the state was also praised by Audu.

He continued, “Christians in Kebbi State have never had it this good.” More than any other prior administration, Governor Idris has shown genuine commitment to the welfare of Christians through various gestures and support.
