Seven people died in Kyiv as a result of Russian drone and missile fire, according to Ukraine’s report from Monday.
The last direct meeting between Kyiv and Moscow almost three weeks ago and no follow-up discussions are scheduled, which has stifled diplomatic efforts to put an end to the three-year conflict.
During the overnight barrage, AFP journalists audibly heard drones soaring over the capital’s center and explosions ringing.
According to Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, six people died in Kyiv, and one more was found dead in Bila Tserkva, a short distance from the capital.
According to Zelensky, Russia has launched 352 unmanned aerial vehicles, including 16 missiles, at Ukraine, and provided some of the ammunition to Moscow by North Korea.
If this coalition of murderers persists and continues to spread their terror, he said, “everyone in the nations that border Russia, Iran, and North Korea should be thinking about how to protect lives.”
He also made a statement that he would be speaking with Ukraine’s partners about sanctions and defense issues with one of Kyiv’s staunchest allies in the UK on Monday.
A NATO summit is scheduled for later this week in The Hague, so make time for the visit.

Zelensky is scheduled to attend on the sidelines, but he is being kept to a minimum to prevent a fight with US President Donald Trump.

Trump has undercut Kyiv and stifled the West’s view of Russia’s war on Ukraine since taking office, opening the way for closer ties with Moscow.
People waiting for the end of the attack to come to an end, as seen by AFP journalists, were huddled up in a residential building in Kyiv’s heartland while scrolling through their phones for news.
A multi-story residential building was destroyed by the attack, according to AFP reporters on the scene, where rescue workers were removing debris.
According to Zelensky, “Rescuers are currently clearing the rubble and offering assistance wherever it is needed.”
He added that the attack had damaged five “ordinary homes.”
At least 28 people were killed in a second attack in Kyiv less than a week after Ukrainian commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky vowed to increase strikes on Russia.
He told reporters, including AFP, “We will not just sit in defense because this brings nothing, and eventually leads to the fact that we continue to retreat, lose people, and lose territories.”
According to Syrsky, Ukraine will continue its “effective” strikes on Russian military installations.
The defense ministry in Moscow reported that 23 Ukrainian drones had been shot down over eastern Russia by the ministry’s air defense systems.
Throughout the entire war, Ukraine has targeted energy and military installations, sometimes hundreds of kilometers (miles) away from the front line, as well as Russia.
According to Kyiv, the strikes are a fair response to Russian assaults on Ukrainian citizens and infrastructure.
Syrsky acknowledged that Russia had some advantages in drone warfare, particularly because it produced tethered and jam-proof fiber-optic drones.
In addition to Crimea, which it captured in 2014, Russia claims to have annexed four of Ukraine’s regions since launching its invasion in 2022.
Moscow has accused Kyiv of purposefully sabotaging a peace deal in an effort to prolong its full-fledged offensive and seize more territory.
