Sean Combs’s Ex Cassie Says He Forced Her Into ‘Disgusting’ Sex Ordeals

Sean “Diddy” Combs’s former partner Casandra Ventura told jurors at the music mogul’s sex trafficking trial Tuesday how he subjected her to “disgusting” marathon group sex sessions.

Ventura’s bombshell testimony underpins much of the prosecution’s case against Combs, who is alleged to have used violence and blackmail to manipulate women over many years.

Ventura said of the so-called “freak-off” sex parties that she was “just in love and wanted to make (Combs) happy — to a point I didn’t feel like I had much of a choice.”

She described Combs urinating on her, or him instructing one of the numerous sex workers he engaged to do so, and paying the escorts, almost always men, thousands of dollars cash after encounters.

“It was disgusting. It was too much. It was overwhelming,” she said, adding that the hotel rooms used for the marathon sex sessions were often trashed, with establishment’s charging sizable cleaning and repair bills.

Asked if she enjoyed anything about the curated encounters that Combs allegedly instructed her to coordinate, Ventura wept openly, answering that “the time spent with (Combs)” was enjoyable.

“Sean would want me to clarify if the person was a cop,” she said of screening male escorts to evade law enforcement on Combs’s behalf.

Combs’s defense team said they would seek to emphasize that Ventura took drugs of her own free will, and behaved erratically.

Ventura said that during the encounters she took ecstasy or cocaine, and that the “drugs honestly helped” her stay awake for days on end as demanded by Combs.

“Sean controlled a lot of my life — whether it was (my) career, the way I dressed,” she said.

‘He would mash me’

Ventura, who is heavily pregnant and will take regular breaks from her graphic testimony that could last several days, said “Sean controlled a lot of my life — whether it was (my) career, the way I dressed.”

“He would mash me in my head, knock me over, drag me, kick me, stomp me on the head if I was down,” she said, her voice shaking at points.

In a hotel surveillance clip from March 2016 shown to jurors Monday, Combs is apparently seen brutally beating and dragging Ventura — widely known as “Cassie” — down a hallway.

Former security officer at a Los Angeles InterContinental hotel, Israel Florez, told the court Monday that he was first on the scene after the incident and that Combs sought to pay him off.

Florez’s testimony provided the foundation for the prosecution to introduce the security footage that was published by CNN last year.

The panel of 12 jurors and six alternates responsible for determining Combs’s fate heard of the famed artist’s explosive outbursts and an attempt to preserve his own reputation and celebrity through bribery.

But the 55-year-old’s defense team insisted while some of his behavior was questionable — at times constituting domestic abuse — it did meet the evidence needed to prove racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

Combs has pleaded not guilty on all counts, including the racketeering charge that the hip-hop pioneer led a sex crime ring that included drug-fueled sex parties by use of force, threats and violence.

Prosecutor Emily Johnson told jurors Combs used a web of companies and employees to attend to his desires — a key plank of the racketeering allegations.

Combs’s defense lawyer Teny Geragos told jurors the “case is about love, jealousy and infidelity and money.”

Geragos called Combs’s accusers “capable, strong adult women,” and said his situation with Ventura was a “toxic relationship” but “between two people who loved each other.”

“Being a willing participant in your own sex life is not sex trafficking,” she said, adding that the defense would admit there was domestic violence — but that Combs is not charged with such crimes.

Florez’s testimony was followed by a male dancer who engaged in a sexual relationship, often in exchange for money, with Combs and Ventura from 2012 to approximately the end of 2013. He concluded his testimony Tuesday.

If convicted, the one-time rap producer and global superstar, who is often credited for his role in bringing hip-hop into the mainstream, could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Robert De Niro Calls Trump ‘Philistine’, Slams Tariffs At Cannes

Hollywood star Robert De Niro slammed US President Donald Trump as a “philistine” Tuesday as he accepted a lifetime achievement award at the Cannes film festival.

The 81-year-old actor said that “in my country we are fighting like hell for the democracy we once took for granted” against “America’s philistine president”.

De Niro, a fierce and longtime critic of his fellow New Yorker Trump, said the president’s swingeing cuts in funding for the arts and education were deliberate.

“Because art is the crucible that brings people together… Art looks for truth. Art embraces diversity. That’s why art is a threat. That’s why we are a threat to autocrats and fascists.”

The “Taxi Driver” and “Goodfellas” star lambasted Trump for threatening tariffs on movies “produced in foreign lands”.

“And now he has announced 100 percent tariffs on film production outside of America. You can’t put a price on creativity. But apparently, you can put a tariff on it. Of course, all these attacks are unacceptable. This is not just an American problem, it is a global one,” he added.

“We can’t just all sit back and watch. We have to act, and we have to act now,” he urged.

The Hollywood legend cried as his friend Leonardo Di Caprio presented with his honorary Palme d’Or prize.

Di Caprio thanked De Niro for recommending him to Martin Scorsese, who has since made six films with the star, from “Gangs of New York” to “Killers of the Flower Moon”.

Chimamanda To Headline Inaugural ‘Things Fall Apart’ Festival In Enugu

Celebrated Nigerian novelist, Chimamanda Adichie, will headline the inaugural edition of the ‘Things Fall Apart’ Festival, a cultural event set to take place in Enugu State from June 29 to July 5, 2025.

The week-long festival, organised by the Enugu-based Centre for Memories – Ncheta Ndigbo, is an evolution of the annual Things Fall Apart Day, now in its fifth year.

This expanded format aims to celebrate the towering legacy of the late Chinua Achebe, one of Africa’s most revered literary icons, with a festival that mirrors his global stature.

Adichie, widely regarded as one of Achebe’s most prominent literary descendants, will deliver the keynote address inspired by the festival’s theme, ‘Masculine, Feminine, Human – The Dialogue of Complements in Things Fall Apart’.

According to the organisers, the selected theme will explore how Achebe’s work reflects harmony and conflict between male and female roles, linking it to today’s discussions on identity, humanity, and culture.

Returning home amid a global tour for her new novel, Dream Count—her first in over a decade—the author will reflect on Achebe’s enduring influence on literature, identity, and the power of cultural storytelling.

In a statement, the organisers described the event as “a week-long cultural immersion designed to honour Achebe’s legacy through art, performance, technology and scholarship”.

Expected Highlights

The organisers noted that the event’s highlights will include dramatic performances, staged readings, art exhibitions, film screenings, saloon-style conversations with cultural thought leaders, and immersive tech installations.

A striking feature will be the recreation of Umuofia Village, the fictional setting of Achebe’s seminal novel, offering visitors a living glimpse into the world he so vividly imagined.

A special appearance will also be made by the lead cast of the 1987 television adaptation of Things Fall Apart, including Nollywood veteran actor, Pete Edochie, who famously portrayed the protagonist, Okonkwo.

In a symbolic nod to Igbo tradition, the iconic Ajofia masquerade—featured prominently in the novel—will make a dramatic entrance into the reimagined village.

Halle Berry Trips Up On Cannes Festival’s New Dress Code

Hollywood star Halle Berry was tripped up by the Cannes film festival’s new dress code Tuesday banning extravagantly large dresses on the red carpet, while others appeared to flout the rules.

New regulations banning nudity on the red carpet as well as long dress trains meant Berry had to leave a gown she had chosen for the opening night in her wardrobe.

“I had an amazing dress to wear tonight by Gupta, and I cannot wear it because the train is too big,” the Oscar winner told reporters, referring to the Indian designer Gaurav Gupta, who has previously dressed rapper Cardi B and made big statement gowns for the Met Gala.

“Of course, I’m going to follow the rules,” the American actor, who is on the jury that will decide which film wins the Palme d’Or top prize, said.

Yet others clearly did not.

German model Heidi Klum sported a pink train that was at least three metres (10 feet) long on the first red carpet of the festival, while a Chinese actor and influencer Wan Qianhui also appeared in an enormous white marshmallow mountain of white taffeta.

Berry, who won an Oscar for “Monster’s Ball”, also backed the festival organisers on clamping down on overly risque outfits with new written rules.

“The nudity part is probably also a good rule,” she said.

Cannes organisers raised eyebrows Monday by putting its dress rules publicly into writing for the first time.

“It is not about regulating” what people wear but “to ban total nudity on the red carpet, in line with French law”, a spokesman told AFP.

The Cannes red carpet has seen a procession of daring and revealing looks over the years, with model Bella Hadid in particular sending social media into a spin with a plunging sculptural Schiaparelli creation in 2021.

Stilettos get the heel

“Naked dresses” — provocative looks that reveal considerably more than they conceal — have become something of a red carpet phenomenon of late, with rapper Kanye West’s wife, architect Bianca Censori, causing a scandal at the Grammy Awards in February.

After years of rows and controversies, Cannes has also clarified its rules on footwear, with many accusing it of forcing women to wear high heels.

Several stars defied the tacit rule by going in flats or even barefoot, including Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett and Isabelle Huppert.

Kristen Stewart dug in her heels by walking onto the red carpet in 2018 and then dramatically removing her towering Christian Louboutin stilettos before the cameras.

The rule has now been clearly codified.

‘I Thought I Was Going To Die,’ Kardashian Tells Paris Robbery Trial

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian told a Paris court on Tuesday she feared she would be killed by the masked men who robbed her at gunpoint of some $10 million of jewellery in her hotel room in 2016, but expressed her forgiveness despite the “trauma”.

The trial of 10 suspects has attracted huge media attention, with close to 500 reporters accredited, and crowds flocking around the courthouse on Paris’s historic Ile de la Cite hoping for a glimpse of the celebrity.

“Hi! I’m Kim Kardashian and I just want to thank everyone, especially the French authorities, for allowing me to testify today and tell my truth,” she told the packed court, wearing a black suit.

“I came to Paris for Fashion Week and Paris is always a place I love so much,” Kardashian said, giving the court her account of the night of October 2-3, 2016, when she was robbed while staying at an exclusive, discreet hotel in the centre of the city.

‘Prayer For My Family’

She was in her room — “with my best friend downstairs, my sister and my friend and my mom… all out for the night” — when she heard “stomping” up the stairs.

Then people “who I assumed were police officers because they were in uniform” entered her room, said Kardashian, who is among the world’s most followed people on Instagram and X.

“Then I heard one of the gentlemen say ‘ring’ a few times over, ‘ring’, ‘ring’ and he pointed his finger with an accent,” she said, adding that she didn’t at first “understand it was for my jewellery”.

The man found what he was looking for: a diamond ring given to Kardashian by her then-husband, rapper Kanye West, and valued at 3.5 million euros ($3.9 million).

The attackers then began to look for more valuables, threatened Kardashian with a gun and tied her up with a zip tie, she said, visibly emotional.

“I was certain that he was going to shoot me, so I said a prayer for my family,” she said.

Asked by the presiding judge if she feared she was going to be killed, Kardashian replied: “I absolutely did. I thought I was going to die.”

She said she also feared she would be raped but the man with the gun “closed my legs and put a tape on my leg.”

‘Absolutely Terrifying’

Kardashian said she was “grabbed and dragged into the other room” but not hit by the men.

Their sudden appearance and the gun were, however, “absolutely terrifying”.

From comments from one of the men, “I felt that he wanted me to know that I would be OK if I just shut up”.

Those on trial are mainly men in their 60s and 70s with previous criminal records.

They have underworld nicknames like “Old Omar” and “Blue Eyes” that resemble those of old-school French bandits of 1960s and 1970s films noirs.

Sixty-eight-year-old Aomar Ait Khedache, known as “Old Omar”, has admitted to tying up Kardashian but denies being the mastermind of the robbery.

Another suspect in the dock, 71-year-old Yunice Abbas, later wrote a book about the heist.

In it he described how his bag got caught in the wheel of his escape vehicle, a bicycle, causing him to fall off and have to scramble to shove the loot back in the bag.

‘I Forgive You’

Khedache, who according to his lawyers is no longer able to speak due to health problems, told Kardashian that he “regrets” his actions in a letter that was read out in court. He said he had been “moved and touched by your tears”.

Kardashian, who appeared tearful during the reading, said: “I do appreciate the letter, for sure” and “I’ve always believed in the second chance.”

She added: “I forgive you for what has taken place but it does not change the emotion, the feelings, the trauma and the way my life changed.”

Kardashian has never viewed her security in the same way since the Paris robbery, she told the court.

“It changed the way that I felt safe at home,” she said, adding she now relied on up to six security guards there.

In what she called a “copycat” burglary, her house in Los Angeles was robbed a month after the Paris heist “because they heard it happened in Paris”.

The US celebrity, sometimes described as being “famous for being famous”, became well known in the early 2000s through TV reality shows, before launching fashion brands and appearing in several films.
