Shamed BBC presenter Huw Edwards ‘had complaint made against him in 2012’

According to reports that the BBC received a complaint about disgraced news anchor Huw Edwards more than ten years prior to his sentencing,

A dossier of emails sent to the BBC has reportedly revealed that a complaint was made against shamed newsreader Huw Edwards all the way back in 2012.

Last September, the Welsh broadcaster was given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, after he admitted charges of making indecent images of children.

Following the release of the report, Huw was alleged to have paid a young person for sexually explicit photos.

Now, according to The Sunday Times, an email was sent to BBC director-general Tim Davie an hour before Huw was sentenced in September, which claimed that a complaint was made about Huw all the way back in 2012, in the aftermath of the Jimmy Savile scandal.

A former BBC employee provided the email, which the Times obtained under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act. According to them, they allegedly explained how a complaint against the newsreader had been filed ten years prior to his suspension.

According to the report, it stated, “The reason for my email to you is just to point out that there is a good chance that this complaint was documented somewhere but that it was (from memory) deemed non-actionable.

They added that the complaint was “Not necessarily a criminal allegation” and that “I have no real details I can offer you – other than it exists.”

Tim allegedly responded with an email thanking the former employee and telling the team he would share it with the team three minutes later.

The Times requested all of Huw’s’ senior BBC executives’ email correspondence, which dates back to the day he was sentenced. Six months later, they were given access to nearly 200 emails and the information.

Huw allegedly offered to repay some of his salary to the BBC between the time of his arrest and his resignation from the broadcaster according to the emails.

However, Huw is yet to repay any of the money back, with a BBC spokesperson confirming to Mirror, “The BBC believes that Huw Edwards should return the money paid to him by the BBC, covering the period between his arrest and his resignation.”

Huw, who was the presenter of the BBC News At Ten for two decades, was known as the corporation’s highest-paid newsreader but later found himself at the centre of a scandal when The Sun claimed that a presenter had given payments to a young person for sexually explicit images.

Not naming Huw at first, many presenters such as Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine were quick to clear up that the reports were not aimed at them.

More than a month after the news broke, TV producer Vicky Flind, Huw’s wife, named him as the person responsible for the reports and issued a statement claiming he was “suffering from serious mental health issues.”

Vicky described it as “difficult days” for their family and described how Huw had recently been treated for severe depression.

Mary Earps’ life off the pitch from major setback, humbling family and mysterious love life

England Lioness goalkeeper Mary Earps spends time with her closest and dearest at home and enjoys lavish vacations in Greece, Dubai, and Madrid.

Mary Earps, the England goalkeeper, has been making headlines for her sporting career, but when she’s not on the field, she lives in a lavish lifestyle. The 32-year-old has had her fair share of difficult times despite her glamorous lifestyle and impressive football achievements.

If you watched the women’s World Cup back in 2023, you’ll remember Earps’ incredible penalty save when the Lionesses were up against Spain in the final. The moment went down in history, despite England’s defeat, but Earps was recognised for her standout performance. She was awarded the Golden Glove for the best goalkeeper at the tournament and, in the same year, took home the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Fast-forward two years, and Earps is still close with her fellow Lionesses and was spotted supporting some of her teammates for the Women’s FA Cup match against Chelsea and Manchester United. But what has the star been up to in the last few years?

The England goalie swapped Man U for a new life in the French capital when she joined Paris St-Germain last summer. Speaking of her new adventure, she told BBC Sport: “I’ve kind of gone away from the craziness of England. I get to go away and work hard in silence and just kind of get on with my job quietly”.

Here, the Mirror takes a closer look at her life away from the pitch…

Family that is supportive

The Nottingham-born star claims that her family keeps her grounded thanks to all of her newfound success. She described how her desire to pursue a career in sports inspired her to play football with her dad and brother in a GQ magazine interview.

She joined a neighborhood club with the unwavering support of her parents, who ferried her to games and training sessions. She recalled the moment she realized her future lay in goalkeeping by recalling that she was playing a local Saturday game and saved a penalty.

Her parents were the first to know about her nomination for the FIFA Best Award. She claimed to be overwhelmed by the award and said, “I was blown away [to be nominated]].” Despite her accolades, there aren’t many awards for goalkeepers, which highlights her modesty.

“I immediately texted my parents and mom. They politely responded, “Well done!” Super chilled, it was the typical Earps family response. It’s fantastic and the perfect finishing touch. I forget that these awards do exist in some way because it doesn’t happen frequently and it never really happens to me. It was really cool to be chosen for the shortlist, and it came out of the blue.

Earps has received numerous awards, has received support from her neighborhood, and even has a bus in her hometown of West Bridgford, near Nottingham, named after her. Fans frequently stop for photos and spot her in the street, but it takes some getting used to.

She told Vogue: “A lot has changed since our Euros win, including the profile of the game. I’m trying to adjust to and enjoy the attention that comes with success. Not that I would have it any other way.”

Setback

But it wasn’t always smooth sailing for the top-notch goalie; she once believed her professional aspirations were dashed. Back in September 2020, after tirelessly working for Manchester United, she was hoping for a comeback on the English team – yet, she missed the cut. She found herself behind goalkeepers Carly Telford, Ellie Roebuck, Hannah Hampton, and Sandy MacIver in the pecking order.

Mary fell emotionally to the floor of her kitchen as a result of the crushing blow. She recalled that she had reached the point where she believed she had “attained my limits.” Although I had a good time, I wasn’t quite good enough. I had responsibilities, I had a mortgage, and it wasn’t working.

Earps persevered for another two years, earning her spot back on the national team and shining at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, but she never gave up on the sport. Before one game against Nigeria at Brisbane Stadium, she boldly declared, “We don’t fear anyone,” becoming a model for many.

degree and part-time employment

Before Earps became a household name in English football, she was working part-time to save money for gas so that she could travel to Doncaster Belles training. She worked a toy shop and a movie theater, provided football coaching, and even worked for her father’s business.

She recounted her experiences on Jill Scott’s podcast, saying, “That summer I was just moving on to my A-levels, I had a job in the cinema, a job at a kids’ toy shop, two coaching jobs, and I worked for my dad’s business, where I was doing some telesales work for him. I basically had to pay for my boots and gasoline from a number of jobs.

She went on to describe how there wasn’t much cash in footie during her early days: “I used to get expenses with Doncaster but there was no real money in the game back then. At first I had not passed my driving test so I was relying on my local team-mates for help. There was a girl who even drove from Southampton up to Doncaster and used to pick me up on the way. It is mad how the game has changed since then.”

Earps managed to complete her degree at Loughborough University despite her busy schedule and extra-curricular activities to meet her entrance requirements.

Celebrating on Instagram, she wrote: “Today I graduated from one of the top universities in the country, the university that I’ve always dreamed of attending, with a 2:1 degree in Business… and it’s safe to say that the stress, sweat, tears and sleep deprivation were all worth it. Thank you for a challenging and unforgettable four years.”

Jet-setter and romantic life

Away from football, the pro player lives her best life, travelling the world and spending time with her loved ones at home. A glance at her Instagram account (@1maryearps) reveals her adventures in Paris, Madrid, Dubai, Australia, and Berlin.

Mary often shares carefree, sun-kissed photos from her getaways, showcasing her lighter side. Her sense of humour is also evident, as seen in a Greek holiday snap captioned: “I can finally say that I’ve been to Greece, better late than feta.”

Earps avoids sharing behind-the-scenes match footage and participating in trending challenges despite being the Lionesses’ TikTok sensation with 1.2 million followers. She is not in a relationship, it is known.

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright’s baby girl has been proudly shown off by her aunt. The former Coronation Street star, 37, and her reality star husband, 38, became first-time parents in March.

The couple, who have been married since 2015, are parents to a daughter that they named Palma, with Mark even taking his bundle of joy to work and introducing her to listeners on his Heart radio show. Michelle has also given fans glimpses of her baby girl, sharing heartwarming snaps via social media.

And it seems that Palma has won over the whole family as proud aunt Natalya Wright has also been posing with the baby. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the model & content creator shared a collection of photographs from recent weeks.

Along with a number of emojis, including hearts, a racing horse, and dog paw prints, she uploaded the snapshots with the straightforward caption “Life lately.” A number of her photos featured her holding Palma in a variety of settings.

Natalya and Natalya were seated outside with one another and a close-up of the baby was seen in the hero image. The pair sought shelter in the shade with the sun setting above them, and Palma wore a summer hat.

She wrote, “Goodbye Erin, I’m sorry,” in a moving message. What an incredible seven years it has been since the Brassic journey has finally come to an end (feels strange to say that). I consider myself to be a key participant in such a spectacular production.

Michelle continued, “I knew this job was going to be special and amp; it definitely was. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the show over the years for the memories, laughs, and friendship.

What a magical seven years we had, she wrote to the end of the post.

Mark had expressed his joy about having his daughter with him when he arrived at work a few weeks earlier. He posted a video of himself with his daughter nipped on his chest in the Heart FM studio.

He later said to listers, “I have a very special moment happening right now.” On Heart, I’m introducing the show to you. I enjoy being here and participating in the songs like Amy Winehouse and Jessie J. I also have my baby Palma in my arms at the same time.

Law and Order’s Mariska Hargitay’s horror after discovering real dad after 30-year lie

In her new documentary, My Mom Jayne, Mariska Hargitay revealed Mickey Hargitay isn’t her real father in a 30-year secret.

After being unsure about her father’s identity for 30 years, Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay made it known. She discovered that Nelson Sardelli, a well-known Italian singer and comedian, is actually her biological father, not Mickey Hargitay, the man who raised her.

In her new documentary, My Mom Jayne, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival this weekend, the actress, 61, learned that bodybuilder and actor Mickey had been her father her entire childhood. Jayne Mansfield, her mother, died in a car accident in 1967 when she was just three years old, according to the movie.

She shockingly revealed that Nelson is her true father in the documentary. Jayne, an actress and Playboy Playmate, divorced Mickey in 1963 after having two children with him, and they later started dating Nelson.

A few months before Mariska was born, she later reconciled with Mickey. When she first saw a picture of Nelson in her 20s, Marinska thought he was her true father.

In the documentary, Mariska describes how “my infrastructure dissolved as the floor fell out from beneath me.” She goes on to claim that she has spent three decades “living a lie.”

She claimed to have once inquired about Nelson’s biological father’s identity to Vanity Fair, but he later denied it, so she never brought up the subject until after his 2006 passing.

Mariska turned 30 when she saw Nelson perform in Atlantic City, and he emotionally thanked her for “waiting for this moment for 30 years.”

“I told you, “I don’t want anything, I don’t need anything from you,” I replied. She remarked, “I have a father.” There was a theme of loyalty, they said. I aspired to remain faithful to Mickey.

Before slowly developing a relationship with the comedian, who is also a part of her documentary, she struggled with “knowing I’m living a life my entire life.”

That is not a lie because I am Mickey Hargitay’s daughter. There is no one I was closer to on this planet, so this documentary is kind of a love letter to him,” Mariska continued.

She continued to describe her two adopted children in detail as she “understands.” They are my children, they say. I’ve grown to appreciate it so much, and boy, is it sweet.

On May 17, My Mom Jayne debuted at the Cannes Festival, and it will be available on HBO and HBO Max on June 27.

How Coleen Rooney is making sure son Kai doesn’t go off the rails like his dad Wayne

After the former Manchester United player made some errors following his meteoric rise to fame, leaving him with significant regrets, Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s marriage almost ended.

Coleen Rooney is making sure her son Kai is “protected” from fame, with the 16-year-old already having a glittering football career ahead of him. But to make sure he doesn’t make the same mistakes as his dad, Wayne, she’s reportedly making sure he keeps up with his school work.

The mother-of-four has two sons: Cass, 7, and Klay, 11, Kit, 9, and Wayne, 39, who live with her husband. After seeing how fame affected Wayne, who rose to fame at the age of 16, Coleen, 39, is wary of her sons being thrust into the limelight at a young age.

Like any relationship, the couple has had its fair share of rough patches since getting married in 2008 when Coleen was 22. When it was revealed that the ex-football player had been pulled over behind the wheel of a different woman’s car while he was three times over the drink-drive limit, their marriage was about to end in 2017.

Wayne Rooney met Laura Simpson at a bar before joining her for a drive in her VW Beetle. During her Disney+ documentary, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, Coleen says: “I’ve had that feeling in my stomach a few times and I would never wish anyone to feel that.

But having put their troubles behind them, Coleen and Wayne are back on track – and she wants to make sure her son Kai stays on the straight and narrow. The Sun reports a source said: “Kai is already being touted as one to watch and played a big part in Man United winning the Under 15s league.

Within the next few years, he’s being projected to join the first-team. Nobody knows what will happen, so Coleen is making sure he doesn’t rely on it and has told him he must take his GCSEs the following year. He must also work hard at school.

She’s making sure he’s protected and kept out of the spotlight like Wayne did when he was a young child, though, and she’s playing a significant role in his career. “Cohen and Wayne have been supporting Kai’s football, and the pair regularly congratulate him on social media.

Coleen won't let her four boys play football because their father won't let them. Instead, Coleen wants them to be true to themselves.
Coleen won’t let her four boys play football because their father won’t let them. Instead, Coleen wants them to be true to themselves.

Kai has insisted that he is more keen on forging his own path within the game than following his dad. Mum Coleen revealed to the Mirror: “We’ve never pressured them into even playing football.

We’ve always just let them make their decisions,” he said. My eight-year-old was doing really well before deciding he didn’t want to, which is acceptable.

You know, I believe they do occasionally put pressure on other people. When we’re outside, people say, “Are you as good as your dad?” ‘. I’m a different kind of player, Kai claims. You must let them know that you are not required to emulate anyone and that you are also your own person.

Princess Andre brutally snubs Katie Price over new project after making ‘final decision’

Katie Price, a model, rose to fame in her teens, and now it seems like her eldest daughter might follow her mother’s example.

Katie Price has been dissed by her eldest daughter Princess Andre in her new ITV reality series. The 17-year-old is set to get her own taste of fame as she will be the centre of a fly-on-the-wall show.

However, it’s believed former glitz model Katie won’t be getting a look. The 46-year-old will likely allow her daughter to enjoy the experience on her own, despite not being a celebrity before.

Princess has been following in the footsteps of famous parents, Katie and Peter Andre, as she’s been working with brands for the past two years. But now she is due to show a behind the scenes look in her new documentary style programme.

Katie will take a backseat, according to The MailOnline, but Peter and his wife Emily will be featured. Kate won’t appear in Princess’s show, according to a source who confirmed it was final and had been made. The show is all about Princess’s work and personal life, despite the fact that Princess loves her mother and they have a wonderful relationship.

Television executives vehemently opposed to including Katie because it would not provide a true and accurate view of her life. The plot will follow Princess until she turns 18 in June.

Princess also revealed last week that she was able to pass her driving test, which isn’t the only thing happening in her life right now. Princess announced that she had passed her driving test on Instagram.

As they left their congratulations messages, friends and fans of the star flooded the comment section. One person congratulated the princess. Bravo … Now that I’m a family taxi, I’ll live it.

Brilliant! as another person wrote: Congratulations, “with a third ending: I’m sure your dad will buy you a good car.” As Peter bought his son Junior his first car, it should come true.

Peter treated him to an Audi A1 for his 17th birthday, even before he got a driving licence. Peter paid out for the car along with a private registration and green callipers. Junior was absolutely thrilled with his “dream car”.

Junior posed on the bonnet of his car to show off the private plate in a post on his own Instagram account at the time. He remarked, “We can’t be more appreciative right now. My dad just gave me the car of my dreams for the release of my debut single “SLIDE” on June 17th.
