Dakota Johnson has revealed the one rule her partners must stick to in the wake of her breakup with Coldplay’s Chris Martin. The Fifty Shades of Gray star, 35, has reportedly called it quits with the Fix You singer, 48, after eight years together.

Dakota, who is currently starring in the flick, Materialists, in which her character boasts several love interests – including Marvel star, Chris Evans – was pretty clear about the one thing her prospective partner must not be as she opened up about her expectations. Speaking to Craig Melvin on the June 9 episode of Today, she stated: “Just, like, not an a**hole.” Chuckling, Chris, who was seen looking cosy with Dakota during the New York premiere of their film on the weekend, replied: “That’s concise. There it is. Nail on the head.”

Dakota’s blunt reply comes amid reports that she and Chris Martin have called it a day. On June 4, it was reported that the couple—who first sparked dating rumours in 2018—had gone their separate ways.

The actress’ rep was forced to deny break-up rumours back in August 2024 and then almost a year later, Dakota was seen out in New York without her engagement ring.

Neither Dakota nor Chris has confirmed or spoken about the reports yet, but a source has claimed that the rumoured split has been “painful” for the daughter of Melanie Griffiths. Speaking to the Sun, they revealed: “Dakota wanted this relationship to work.

“She not only loves Chris, but his two kids, and that loss feels incredibly painful. The decision to end things was amicable, but Dakota is finding it hard.

“Over the past year, it became clear that their relationship had stalled and wasn’t moving forwards.”

However, Chris—who shares kids Apple Martin, 21, and Moses Martin, 19, with ex Gwyneth Paltrow—is still supporting his ex as he encouraged them to see her new film.

During his June 1 Coldplay show in California, he told the crowd, “Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other. Don’t forget to see Materialists!”

Dakota was seen looking very cosy with her Materialists co-star at the New York City premiere of her new movie on Saturday night.

While she attended the event and posed for photos, the actress had Chris Evans’ arm tightly wrapped around her waist.

Dakota looked in high spirits as she stood in front of the cameras with the Marvel star, but it wasn’t him she locked lips with. In the absence of Pedro Pascal, who also stars in the film as the actress’ ‘perfect match’, she held up a cardboard cut-out of her on-screen love interest and kissed his photo instead.

Red flags of ulcerative colitis as TOWIE’s Chloe Meadows shares health struggle

Chloe Meadows has opened up about her battle with the condition after first noticing unusual symptoms at 16 years old

The reality star opened up about her symptoms on a recent podcast(Image: (Photo by Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/Getty Images for Peacocks))

Chloe Meadows openly discussed her struggle with ulcerative colitis on Dr. Oscar Duke’s Bedside Manners podcast, revealing that she ignored warning signs for almost ten years. The 33-year-old reality star recalled noticing blood in her stool at the age of 16 while attending boarding school.

“I remember I told my mum and was like there is quite a lot of blood down the toilet,” Chloe, who once starred in The Only Way Is Essex, said. “I’m not really sure what is going on and she, of course, said go to the doctors. I went to the doctors and they said that I would have to have a colonoscopy.

“The doctor referred me and I got this letter, and this is awful, but I got this letter and I just never went to the appointment because I was terrified. It would stop for periods of time so that the blood would go away.

“I’d be like, ‘Oh, cool, it’s gone away, I’m better. There’s nothing wrong with me’. I’d go through years where it wouldn’t happen and then it would happen again, and then it would stop again.

“I just got on with it and ignored it. I think I was scared of having any procedure done.” The podcast episode underscored the importance of recognising this condition, pointing out how frequently people dismiss or overlook symptoms when they occur.

To gain further insights into ulcerative colitis, we interviewed Pearl Avery, the IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) nursing lead at Crohn’s & Colitis UK, who discussed several typical red flags to be aware of.

Ulcerative colitis explained

“Ulcerative colitis is a type of IBD where parts of the large bowel – the colon and rectum – become inflamed and ulcerated,” Avery said. “This can cause worrying symptoms like blood in your poo and frequent, urgent diarrhoea as well as weight loss (because you’re struggling to absorb nutrients) and fatigue.

“Usually, the immune system protects the body, but it’s thought that in colitis it goes wrong and starts attacking the bowel.” Despite this, Avery emphasised that its exact cause remains largely unknown.

She went on: “We don’t know for sure what causes colitis or Crohn’s, but researchers believe it’s a mix of genes, bacteria in the gut and something in the environment that triggers it. There are all sorts of exciting studies happening now to unlock the mystery of what causes IBD and hopefully one day find a cure.”

Typical red flags to look out for

While each person experiences colitis in their own way, certain warning signs should not be ignored. “Some symptoms to look out for include blood in your poo (more than once), urgent and frequent diarrhoea, unexplained weight loss, joint pain and fatigue,” Avery said.

“Constipation can also be a symptom of colitis, as can stomach pain. There is a really handy symptom checker on the Crohn’s & Colitis UK website which takes just 30 seconds to complete and provides support and guidance on when to see a doctor and what to say when you get there.”

When you should seek medical advice

Although symptoms can be easily brushed off as a ‘dodgy tummy’ or something consumed, Avery advised consulting an expert promptly. “If you are seeing blood in the toilet when you poo, having frequent diarrhoea, or even waking up in the night to rush to the loo, then it’s time to speak to someone about it,” she said.

“We know that it’s taking too long for people with Crohn’s and colitis to be diagnosed, but the sooner you start that process and ask for help, the better.”

Diagnosing ulcerative colitis

If colitis is suspected, various tests might be suggested. Avery explained: “One is a straightforward faecal calprotectin test, which analyses a sample of your poo to work out how much inflammation you’ve got going on in your bowel.

“Then you might be referred for a colonoscopy, which is done in the hospital and involves having a scope, or tiny camera, put into your bottom to look around the colon and rectum.”

Treatment options

Currently, a cure for colitis is not available; however, several treatments exist to alleviate its symptoms. These treatments include immunosuppressants and steroids.

Avery continued: “There are new drugs being developed all the time, which is really encouraging. Some people with colitis end up having surgery to have part of their bowel removed and a stoma fitted.

Kate Garraway reveals secret health issue that made it ‘dangerous’ to be Derek’s carer

Kate Garraway has opened up on the tough times she had while trying to care for her late husband Derek Draper while also dealing with her own health issues

Kate Garraway has revealed the health issue that “worsened significantly” while she was caring for late husband Derek Draper. The political lobbyist died in January 2024 following a four year health battle after he contracted long Covid.

Good Morning Britain host Kate, 58, was his primary carer, but she has candidly opened up on the health issues she also faced at the time. The presenter said at one point, her conditions made her feel it was “not safe” for her or her family.

She confessed that the stress of looking after her husband triggered her own health scares. And she admitted that it seemed as though surgery would be likely.

Speaking to the Sun, Kate revealed: “The stress of fighting for Derek to get the support he needed along with the physical demands of being a primary carer 24 hours a day was such a strain that my body was feeling the effect.

“And there were other signs too. Missed appointments. No time to rest. My autoimmune thyroid condition — neglected during Derek’s illness — has now worsened significantly. Surgery now looks likely. It could have been avoided.”

She also explained how she had been so sleep deprived as the system tried to work out how to best look after Derek that she felt it was no longer safe. She claimed the situation wasn’t safe for her, her kids or Derek.

Kate went on to describe calling health services in desperation following three weeks of no support. She told them at the time she had refused to get off the phone until she was given an answer on how things were going to proceed.

“In the end, the person on the other end of the phone, who was also clearly exhausted, told me, “There is nothing I can do but — and this isn’t official — you are not alone and what I always say to people is take him to A&E and leave him there, then they legally have to do something.”

Exasperated, Kate wondered how it had come to this stage. “I didn’t take him, I just couldn’t, physically or morally,” she said.

Kate also admitted she knows she was lucky to have had family around her who were able to help. However, she knows some people were – and are – in worse situations.

“Carers are the backbone of this country — but are being broken under the weight,” she said. She then pleaded with Rachel Reeves not to forget the carers in her spending review.

Last year, shortly after Derek’s death, Kate praised their two children and the way the handled the heartbreaking situation. And she revealed the sweet message her daughter Darcey gave her dad during his struggles.

Kate revealed how Darcey told Derek: “If, dad, you can’t do this, it’s okay. Don’t worry about us.” She confessed she too had had similar conversations with her husband.

Sam Thompson and Louis Tomlinson to come face to face this weekend after brutal dig

Made In Chelsea star, Sam Thompson, is playing on the same team as his ex Zara McDermott’s new boyfriend, Louis Tomlinson, for Soccer Aid at Old Trafford this weekend

Sam Thompson is about to get up close and personal with his ex’s new man, Louis Tomlinson

Sam Thompson is about to get up close and personal with his ex’s new man, Louis Tomlinson, after admitting he was ‘blindsided’ by the One Direction star. Zara McDermott split up from the Made In Chelsea alum in January and is now dating pop icon, Louis, who is playing on the same team as Sam for Soccer Aid this weekend.

One Direction fans were shocked when Zara moved on with Louis, with Sam making a sly dig about the relationship shortly after the news went viral. Hinting that Zara may have moved on too soon, he said: “I suppose a lot of people look for validation in other people right? And they look for the next person instantly because it’s like ‘I need to find someone else to fill that hole and I need to find that excitement.'”

Louis and Sam are now set to come face to face when they play for England at Soccer Aid at Old Trafford on the weekend, where they will be joined by sports stars, including Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville.

However, the question on everyone’s lips is how will the ex and current boyfriend of Zara get on.

Explaining that he was asked about the awkward meet-up during an interview recently, Sam told his mate, Pete Wicks on their podcast: “At the end of the interview, he goes, ‘Look mate, I’ve got to ask the question that everyone wants to know. This is sort of the big question really, the elephant in the room, What’s it going to be like with you and Louis? Obviously he’s doing Soccer Aid too.'”

Sam continued: “Mate, you should have seen the room, everybody, it was a silent then everyone goes ‘Woah, Woah Woah, end the call! End the call!’ and I have just gone ‘No, no guys, I’ve got this, I’ve got this.’ I held my hands up to say just relax.

“I think I did alright and I meant everything I said as well, that it’s not about me or Louis or who anyone is dating, it’s f**king Unicef and charity and everyone is going to be there for the exact same reason.

“And if he has anything about him which I’ve heard he does, he’s going to sit there and say the exact same thing.”

When interviewed by The Mirror and asked this question in May, Sam said: “I’ve never met Louis, but the moment I see him, I’ll be like, ‘mate, how amazing is this what we’re doing, and hopefully we can make as much money as possible.

“And I imagine – from what I hear is a really lovely bloke – I imagine the reply will be exactly the same.”

Sam has already raised over £1.5 million for Unicef by cycling and running from Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford and told us of his achievement: “I am totally broken – but so happy.

“The fact this challenge has grabbed everyone’s attention is just so incredible and I have just been blown away!”

Katie Price shares ‘sad’ admission about co-parenting with Peter Andre and wife Emily

Katie Price has opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Peter Andre and his new wife Emily, and what she finds “the most difficult” about co-parenting

Katie Price confessed to feeling ‘sad’ about the lack of communication(Image: Nordin Catic, Getty Images for The Cambridge Union)

Katie Price has opened up, admitting she feels “sad” over the lack of communication with her ex-husband Peter Andre, despite sharing two children.

The former glamour model, now 47, struck up a romance with the pop star on the hit show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! back in 2004, leading to a fairy-tale wedding at Highclere Castle the next year.

Yet, by 2009, their love story had turned bitter, resulting in a split. Katie recently disclosed that she and Peter do not speak, even though they co-parent their son Junior, 19, and daughter Princess, 17. Instead, the pair communicate through their legal teams.

Appearing on the Katherine Ryan on the What’s My Age Again? podcast Katie described co-parenting as “the most difficult thing”. Expressing her feelings about Peter and his new wife Emily, she said, “It’s sad, really. Now, we don’t even talk, even though I’d like to. I’m glad he’s with Emily. She seems like a proper lady. I think it’d be weird if he went for someone like me.”

Katie shared that Princess is unable to picture her parents as a couple: “But what is funny, Junior and Princess. Mainly Princess, because Junior’s more like a bit more guarded, [Princess says] ‘I can’t imagine you and Dad together. You’re just so nuts, Mum. When I see you and Emily, you’re just so different. I can’t imagine you and Dad’.”

Katie Price opened up about the lighter moments of her past relationship on Paul Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast, recalling to her daughter: “I said I was with your dad for six years. Trust me. We had a laugh, bantered together. We did.

“She said, ‘I just can’t imagine Dad being like that’. I said, but he was. He was like that. We did have a laugh. And, you know, she can’t believe that whenever he went everywhere or me, we were together with the kids. And we’d go as a family.”

Katie highlighted differences in parenting approaches: “Emily doesn’t do all that for Pete. I said, me and Pete just did it all together as a family. If we’d got you kids, you would come with us. Like, she goes, ‘I just can’t imagine it, Mum.'”.

During her emotional session on the podcast, Katie also detailed the accusations which led to her split from Peter Andre: “We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I’ve never slept with him. I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.”

She expressed her frustration during their breakup, saying: “But when me and Pete split, because he used to keep saying, that’s it. I’ve had enough. I’ve had enough. It got to a point where I went well f****** divorce me.”

Katie recollected the dramatic day of her separation: “And I remember the day, because then I flew to the Maldives with the kids. That day, I’m at the airport, it’s all on Sky News, it wasn’t mutual at all.”

She said public perception differed from reality: “And then I redone a statement saying I don’t want to split with Pete, it’s Pete that’s splitting with me. Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it.”

The mum-of-five opened up about the strains of co-parenting, sharing: “Behind the scenes, it’s the most difficult thing, but I realised you get to know what people are really like, and I’ve had it tough.

“But yeah, it is sad. Never ever sat down with him and spoke about it. We were kept apart…then all of a sudden, split and I think that’s where my independence comes from.”

Greta Thunberg’s unknown sister with racy image who changed her name to avoid association

Greta Thunberg’s younger sister Beata Ernman is pursuing a career in the arts and, ditching her famous surname, is trying to carve her own path away from her activist sibling

Greta Thunberg’s sister Beata Ernman steps into the limelight with her own career and political messages

Greta Thunberg and her loved ones are in the spotlight currently thanks to the Swedish activist’s recent bid to enter Gaza and provide humanitarian aid to Palestinians. The 22-year-old said on Tuesday that the Israeli regime kidnapped her and others aboard the Gaza-bound Madleen aid ship in international waters.

After being forcibly taken to Israel before being deported, Greta landed in France where she answered a few questions about her detainment to reporters waiting for her at the airport. The award-winning activist described the circumstances of her kidnapping as “quite chaotic and uncertain”.

She added: “But the conditions we faced are absolutely nothing compared to what people are going through in Palestine and especially Gaza right now. This is not the real story. The real story is there is a genocide going on in Gaza and systematic starvation.”

As Greta tends to international matters, her little sister is living quite a different life. As Greta was discussing her kidnapping on Tuesday, her younger sibling Beata Ernman, 19, shared snaps from a photoshoot on her Instagram Stories and promoted her musical releases.

Beata, who Greta once claimed “is the one who suffers” due to her humanitarian work, is seemingly trying to distance herself from her famous sister and carve her own path. Ditching her well-known surname and taking her opera singer mother Malena Ernman’s maiden name instead, Bea is pursuing a career as an actress, singer and model.

But Beata, like her sister, also has a political edge to her work. Discussing her latest single, I Found Your Father’s Gun, the teenage singer told her Instagram followers on Tuesday: “When people objectify girls, they reduce us to body parts — They treat us like multiple girls add up to one man. So in this song, I use their own language against them.

“I objectify him by sexualizing his father, to expose the absurdity, the cruelty, and the double standard, associating him with another man, to flip it, as if 10 men were treated like 1 girl. Beneath the metaphor is something real: Men need to stop taking advantage of girls who are too young to fight back. This song is what it sounds like when we do. When the object speaks. Twice as brutal as the offense itself, right? Right.”

After her milestone speech at the United Nations climate summit made her a household name, Greta – then 16 – told Dagens Nyheter how her “wonderful and strong” sister’s life had been impacted due to her activism.

“The one who suffers is my sister,” Greta told the Swedish news outlet. “She is 13 years old and she has been subjected to systematic bullying, threats and harassment. The people who write threats and hate to me do it to the whole family, even to her.”

Beata shared this snap on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday

“The difference between me and the people who are left at home is that I am always travelling, inaccessible. People don’t know where I am staying, where I sleep at night, where I am. I have no daily life. But for my sister at home, who tries to have a daily life … she is much more reachable.”

Beata has been active on her Instagram page over recent days, sharing several racy snaps with her 10,400 followers, but is yet to publicly comment on sister Greta’s involvement in The Gaza Freedom Flotilla, a humanitarian maritime mission.

The mission, led by the UK-flagged vessel Madleen, was organised by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) with the aim of breaking the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza and delivering aid. Setting sail from Catania, Sicily, on June 1, the flotilla’s journey was abruptly halted.

In the early hours of Monday morning, Israeli forces intercepted, boarded, and seized the vessel in international waters, preventing its arrival in the Gaza Strip and detaining those onboard.

Among the 12-member crew were European Parliament representative Rima Hassan and environmental activist Greta. According to Hassan, the cargo included baby formula, crutches, nappies, flour, medical kits, and rice.
