Lucy Bronze mum’s powerful response when Lioness told ‘You can’t play football with boys’

Lucy Bronze, the women’s football team from England, won the Euros on Sunday after beating Spain on penalties. The woman made history with the women’s team.

Lucy Bronze’s mum had no time for those who told her daughter she couldn’t play football like the boys. The inspiring Lioness, 33 – whose full name is Lucia Roberta Tough Bronze – made history with the women’s England football team on Sunday when they won the Euros again after beating Spain on penalties.

Lucy has loved playing football since she was little, but almost had her dreams dashed when her old football coach told her that she would have to leave the mixed team she was playing in for fear of injuring herself.

When Lucy was ten years old, her mother, Diane, purchased the resilient athlete with her first pair of football boots. The young Lioness also played football as the only girl on a team of boys during her final year of primary school.

However, the Chelsea star, who revealed she had a broken leg in the final yesterday, said her mother wouldn’t accept “no” for an answer after being told she would have to leave the team.

Speaking to the Guardian, she recalled Diane responding: “Right. No one is telling my little girl that she can’t do something!”

Lucy frequently posts photos of her adoring mother on Instagram, and last year she paid tribute with two adorable photos to her “number one fan since day one.”

The Berwick-upon-Tweed defender, who had a broken tibia during Euro 2025, was able to demonstrate her tenacity.

In the shootout, Lucy scored a penalty after strapping up her own leg in the quarter-final victory over Sweden, keeping the English defense in top shape all the way through the knockout stages.

However, when asked how she felt following Sunday’s nail-biting final, Bronze paused and grinned before revealing: “I actually played the entire tournament with a fractured tibia, but no-one knew.

“And then I just hurt my other leg today by my knee.”

Because I’ve played a lot of games before, I think that’s why I received a lot of praise from the girls after the Sweden game. But I’ll do that if that’s what it takes to play for England.

Very agonizing.

The Lionesses also settled a personal score with Spain, who had previously defeated them in the World Cup final several years ago, making them the first country to retain the women’s Euros since Germany won six in a row from 1995 to 2013.

Sarina Weigman, England manager, praised Lucy, saying, “We tried to manage that because she had some issues with her tibia.” You’re not managing it when you play 120 minutes, are you? It’s amazing how she and the rest of the team have such great mentalities, but she also has crazy mentalities.

Richard Ashcroft announces huge tour update after ‘nearly outshining Oasis’

After their shared history, Richard Ashcroft would never be questioned, according to Liam Gallagher, who stated it was unquestionable.

After embarking upon the biggest stadium tour of the year as special guest to Oasis, and selling out Manchester’s Co-op Live, Richard Ashcroft today announces additional UK dates due to overwhelming demand. Richard will perform at arenas in Cardiff, Liverpool, London and Leeds in Spring 2026, with tickets on sale at 9.30am on Friday 1st August.

The announcement comes in response to the announcement that his brand-new album Lovin’ You will be released on October 3rd, his first all-new album since 2018’s Natural Rebel, and is a follow-up to 2021’s Acoustic Hymns, Vol. 1.

Speaking on Radio 2 earlier this month Richard Ashcroft said: “The album’s due in September, just after I finish the dates with Oasis. That’ll be coming out in September, and yeah, happy days, we’ll see how it goes. I’m buzzing that I’m still here. I’m still making music, people pay me to make music, people pay me to sing live. It’s like I can’t complain.”

Ashcroft has won huge praise from fans after being picked to join Oasis on their huge sell-out Live 25 tour. Speaking after seeing the band play at Wembley Stadium, David Baddiel said the former Verve frontman gave the Gallaghers a run for their money when it came to entertaining the crowd. Noel has even been spotted watching Ashcroft’s sets before walking on stage himself.

“Oasis were fantastic tonight. However, Richard Ashcroft, who provided the “Scott Walker of Britpop,” nearly made them outlast them in the voiceover.

Without prior authorization, content cannot be displayed.

“Don’t think Richard has ever done a bad show,” replied one of his followers. “Magnificent,” agreed another, while a third said: “It’s the absolute dream lineup. Chris Martin said Richard Ashcroft had the best voice going around. Richard Ashcroft and Oasis playing in 2025. It’s what the world needs some GOOD THINGS! I can’t wait to see them in Australia. Magic. How special to be at Wembley. Brilliant.”

Another X user responded to Baddiel’s video of Ashcroft singing The Drug’s Don’t Work, saying, “This was a real moment in Manchester as well.” That song had a certain freshness or atmosphere in it. Although the Oasis music is excellent, there is a stronger nostalgia tinge to them.

Oasis and Richard Ashcroft have a mutual admiration that dates back to their initial collaboration while they were touring. Richard joins Cast as a special guest on all of their UK shows.

Shop Anne Hathaway’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 T-bar necklace for £80 instead of £9k

On the set of The Devil Wears Prada 2, Anne Hathaway’s snaps have been surfacing, and one piece of jewelry seems to be her go-to accessory.

The Devil Wears Prada is still one of the most well-known movies of the 2000s, and the sequel’s filming is well underway almost 20 years after its initial release in 2006. The Devil Wears Prada 2 features Anne Hathaway, who has been seen filming numerous scenes, and Andy Sachs, who appears to have kept some of her fashionable attire from her time at Runway in the first movie.

There is one thing that has always been a staple in all of her looks, including a T-bar necklace, despite already having seen her in everything, including a tailored trouser suit and a patchwork Gabriele Hearst maxi dress. Due to its 18kt gold and diamond design, the straightforward piece of jewelry has a hefty price tag of about $9, 000.

The best lookalike for Fendi’s £340 knot bracelet is now available for only £55, read more.

The initial necklace by Zara McDermott gives a sweet nod to a romance by Louis Tomlinson.

Fans of the sophisticated necklace, however, are in luck because we found a gorgeous (and much more affordable) alternative, and as an added bonus, you can have it created in your own unique design. You have complete creative control over how you want the Abbott Lyon Custom Stamped T-Bar Necklace to be finished, with the price of the $79 price.

You can choose the type of chain you want, from the tiniest to the most expensive, and have your name engraved in the middle with up to nine characters to play with. To make things more personal, you can also add a glittering birthstone to each end (they don’t have to be the same, you can have two different ones).

The necklace has an anti-tarnish protective coating to prevent it from deteriorating and is made of 18kt gold plating. You can wear it year-round for any occasion because it is water, sweat, and heat-resistant.

If you want an even more affordable pick, Boden’s T-bar Chain Necklace is only £35, although it’s recommended you remove it when applying things like perfume or beauty products, or when going in water. We also love Tilly Sveaas’ Small Gold T-Bar On Belcher Chain, which is slightly pricier at £125-£140 depending on which chain length you pick, and is a favourite of Taylor Swift, who wears hers often.

Anne has already paired her T-bar necklace with a similar-length pearl necklace on all of her outfits. Abbott Lyon also sells the T-bar Pearl Necklace for £59, which swaps out the traditional chain for freshwater pearls if you want to combine the two.

Chloe Kelly sent a subtle but powerful message to fans with her pre-game beauty ritual

Chloe Kelly’s nails weren’t just pretty; they sent a powerful message about respecting women in football.

Chloe Kelly’s manicure is a strong reminder for women in sport(Image: Getty)

Chloe Kelly is a beauty queen as well as a football powerhouse. All eyes were presumably on the pitch during last night’s England vs. Spain Euros final, which was understandably tense. However, if you had a little extra time to zoom in, you might have noticed something that was very powerful about the Lioness forward’s manicure: a delicate two-tone butter-yellow and pastel pink polish that is thought to have been carefully chosen and carefully chosen.

In a world where women in sport are often expected to tuck away their femininity, Chloe’s manicure felt like a needed reminder that you can be both– powerful and polished, strong and soft, fierce on the pitch but still into nail art.

Chloe’s favorite nail type is BIAB (builder in a bottle), which we have been aware of from previous interviews. This salon-favorite manicure is known for being extremely strong yet still looks natural if you haven’t heard of it. It is widely accepted as the mani suit for those who, in order to concentrate on slamming footballs into the back of the net, really don’t want to risk chips.

Chloe has not made a statement before with beauty either. Chloe scored the winning goal against Germany in the 2022 Women’s Euros final while sporting a polished blonde ponytail and flawless nude manicure that immediately caught the attention of the crowd. Since then, she has embraced beauty as a component of her game-day preparation, demonstrating that caring about your hair, skin, or nails is not mutually exclusive.

Purchase the brand-new Lionesses Euro 2025 kit.

The Lionesses' newest kit has been unveiled in time for the Women's Euro 2025 tournament

See the range

It’s a great reminder for women in sport. For so long, women have had to dull down anything remotely feminine for fear of not being taken seriously. However, when male athletes groom, it’s usually seen as a show of status. Take Cristiano Ronaldo’s impeccably gelled hair or Jack Grealish’s signature Alice band, for example. The two pro players are rarely, if ever, criticised for caring about how they look; rather, it adds to their brand. Their grooming choices tend to be framed as confident or stylish, not vain or distracting.

Despite this, Chloe and other female players’ choices are frequently taken into consideration. When they embrace beauty, whether it’s a cunning manicure or a well-planned hairstyle, it’s occasionally perceived as a contradiction to their athleticism or as a sign of uninterest in the sport. The forward refuses to bow out of fear of being called an unsophisticated player because of her beauty choices because she proudly displays her feminine pink and yellow nails on the pitch.

@lulusnailszurich, who used The Gel Bottle colors to create Chloe’s most recent yellow set, did the look. The buttery yellow that has dominated this summer’s beauty and style trends is called “Queen Bee,” and it’s exactly that color.

You must be asking if you can get Chloe’s favorite BIAB-style mani without having to book in. It’s never been simpler to DIY a set at home that won’t snap off if you so much as look at your car keys funny. Gel kits have come a long way.

Save on Chloe’s favorite manicure with DIY gel and BIAB polishes and kits.

Although purchasing a kit will initially cost you money, learning to do gel and BIAB manises for yourself could save you hundreds of pounds on salon manicures, as our beauty director Zoe did.

EastEnders star rushes wife to A&E after she’s left ‘unable to speak’

Ricky Champ, a rap star, has revealed that his wife was taken to the hospital after she lost her voice. Sammy, the mother of two, had to deal with complications from an ongoing health condition and was unable to see out of her swollen eyes.

The influencer revealed that the family was about to embark on a magical trip to Disney, and that she had to get medical attention.

What is the one thing that, according to her, shouldn’t happen the day before a Disney trip when you need to go shopping, pack, clean, or do washing? Oh, yes, you wake up with your lips so swollen you can’t speak and your eyes so swollen shut that you need to spend the day in the A&amp, E at 7am.

I have severe hives all over my body every morning that go away before bed, and then it starts all over again because of my gallstones and liver.

Sammy and Ricky have two children.

“Something due to the toxins, etc. (still not urgent, but we’ve been told to wait a year or more for an operation)”

Sammy, the mother-of-two, then shared a number of images of her extremely swollen face before resuming her normal self.

Actor Ricky Champ has forged a diverse career beyond EastEnders while raising two children, daughter Beatrix and son River.

Sammy shared a number of facial photos in various social media accounts.

Champ, who is best known for playing Stuart Highway, had a transformative experience when he left the long-running BBC soap in 2022.

He later told Digital Spy that he went from being a villain to a hero to a father in EastEnders. It was amazing to work with a character’s arc for five years. He acknowledged that it was strange to leave him.

Champ hasn’t closed the door on a potential comeback despite moving on professionally. He did not pass away. He took off into the evening. He claimed that his on-screen alter ego, Rainie, is somewhere in the North Circular where he lives with her.

Sammy's experience left him terrified.

Louise Thompson praised for bikini photos showing stoma bag as she urges ‘be kind’

After years of battle with ulcerative colitis, former Made in Chelsea actress Louise Thompson bravely displayed her stoma bag in a number of bikini photos.

Louise Thompson has been praised for proudly showing her stoma bag in some inspiring new bikini photos. The mum-of-one, 35, revealed last year that she had been fitted with a stoma, which is a surgically-created opening made in the abdomen to divert the flow of body waste, after years of battling ulcerative colitis.

The former Made In Chelsea star, who is the sister of fellow reality star, Sam Thompson, has spoken openly about her health concerns after a traumatic birth with her son, Leo, who she shares with fiancé, Ryan Libbey, in 2021, in which she almost died.

After revealing that she had a stoma fitted following numerous hospital visits to treat her chronic bowel condition, Louise has now urged people to “be kind” by sharing photos of herself sporting a yellow bikini where clearly visible her stoma bag, which she calls “Winnie.”

Louise acknowledged she doesn’t typically wear a bikini and shared that she doesn’t usually wear one when describing the photos of her radiant two-piece on vacation. I don’t believe it’s because I just really enjoy wearing a swimsuit for comfort, I don’t believe it’s because of confidence. It’s very practical, and I’d venture to say that when you’re in your mid-thirties, you’ll feel more sophisticated.

People staring at me that much are another thing I don’t LOVE. No stoma, or no stoma. You get more attention with a random black or grey bag glued to your abs regardless of the circumstances, even though it doesn’t happen to me as frequently as it does now that I’m a little older and a mother (gone are the days of men checking me out on the tube or the beach). Really unsurprising.

She continued, “I fancied giving my tummy a little tan time/vit d on holiday… so here she is,” saying she feels “no shame” when she looks at her body.

“The old bod,” Winnie and me hanging out. Wearing her with admiration. I believe I still have it. I feel good.

Louise continued, “I don’t feel held back at all, but I know some do, and I want to remind anyone out there who doesn’t really understand what this is that many normal and nice people in the UK have them (100k) and to be kind.

” Don’t judge. People can choose to wear what they want. If you really can’t help it, ask polite questions. You might discover some cool things. #stoma. “

After sharing her encouraging post, Louise received numerous compliments, including from one follower, who said, “You look incredible, but even more so than looking incredible, the way you speak about how things are for you will help so many people get through their difficulties.” You are the woman I need if I ever needed someone who inspires me.

Another wrote, “You’re amazing, Louise,” while another wrote, “It’s all about the big love heart emoji.
