Paul Weller, the Jam’s star, has stated that he won’t be watching Noel Gallagher and Oasis’ return to the big stages after almost 16 years.

Paul Weller has admitted he won’t be joining the hundreds of thousands of fans taking in the epic Oasis reunion tour this summer. Despite The Jam star, 67, being a close pal of Noel Gallagher, he’s revealed he has no intention of watching his eagerly awaited return to the stage with brother Liam and the band.
Explaining his thought process behind his decision, Paul confessed he isn’t a fan of stadium shows and prefers to see bands perform in more intimate venues. He made his point clear during an interview with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2.
The musician, who appears on numerous Oasis tracks, including Champagne Supernova, said: “I’ve not been to see them [Oasis], no… I recently asked Noel, “Are you going to do any warm-ups?” because I’m not a big fan of big gigs. which he wasn’t, but I would attend a smaller venue to see something similar, but I don’t enjoy big performances. Really, who it was is irrelevant.

He continued, “Inevitably, it doesn’t matter unless you’re right in the front row, you just end up watching the screens.” I want to be able to see who is singing or playing, but it kind of spoils things for me.
Paul revealed he is happy for his pal despite having snubbed the shows. He claimed that the reunion was a “big cultural moment.”
You’ve got to be mad, Paul said, “You know how it’s going to go for him, it’s going to be crazy.” I told him that because the number of people I speak to just outside the city, not necessarily those who would ordinarily be fans of Oasis, is going to be significant cultural moments, I believe it will be forever remembered.
There are probably not many bands that compare to [Oasis] at the moment, y’know, guitar music. I don’t recall any, even though I’m not from the UK. Perhaps Fontaines, DC, is unique and people like that. Therefore, I believe that younger audiences were likely to miss out on that 90s experience.
The Oasis Live ’25 Tour started in the UK in Cardiff with shows on July 4 and 5 before heading to the band’s hometown of Manchester for five gigs at Heaton Park between July 11 and 16. Gigs in London, Edinburgh and Dublin will wrap up their UK and Ireland offerings before heading to North America, South Korea, Japan, Australia and South America.
On November 25, the tour will end in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but there have been rumors that 2026 will bring in additional dates. Rome was a location that was cut out of this year’s running.

But this could all change in the coming weeks, it appears. The Rome City Councillor for Major Events suggested last week that there are currently talks to have the band perform in the capital city, Rome.

Oasis in the capital, according to Alessandro Onorato? The financial aspect is crucial because these are live events for businesses that hold events all over the world. Negotiations are taking place. He continued, “He continued to say that Rome had lacked significant opportunities in the past.
He stated that planning a big event in Rome was challenging because it had historically been the “city of missed opportunities.” Onorato has been vocal about wanting Liam and Noel to play in the capital before. He stated in September of last year that Oasis could tour Europe in 2026, just days after the reunion was announced. Yes, we’ve applied to host them in Rome.

Midge Ure, a Scottish musician, announced with “great sadness and difficulty” that he must “reschedule all shows scheduled from September onward.” The singer claimed that doctors have discovered a health condition that requires “urgent treatment and a period of recovery.”
The health issue had been discovered during a recent routine check-up, according to James “Midge” Ure, 71, the frontman of the electronic pop group Ultravox, whose song Vienna is among the most well-known songs of the 1980s.
Dates for the rescheduled performances include those in Europe, the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
He added in a statement that “I have to reschedule all shows that are scheduled starting in September. ” A health condition that requires urgent care and recovery was recently discovered during a routine check-up.
I never take the support of many of you for granted because I know many of you travel far distances and frequently cross borders to see the shows. I’m so sorry if this interferes with your plans.
“I’m still fully committed to performing all of the shows that are currently scheduled for this month, and I’m eager to spend as much time with you as possible.”
For this year’s Live Aid anniversary (PA), Midge Ure and Sir Bob Geldof reunited.
He assured fans that “very much going forward” with his previously announced A Man of Two Worlds Tour, which will take place in May and June 2026.
The 2026 tour, which was announced last month, aims to combine album favorites with “cinematic instrumentals” to provide fans with a “rare and deeply personal concert experience.”
In a statement from Ure, it was stated, “I’m aiming to hit the road once more as soon as possible and looking forward to getting back out there and sharing this music with you all.”
We’ll update the schedule on my Facebook page as soon as possible, and my team and I are working closely with promoters to do so. In this challenging time, I ask that you respectfully respect my family and myself.
He concluded his statement by saying, “As always, I appreciate your understanding, patience, and unwavering support. It really means a lot. Midge, I’m grateful and in love.

Marcel Somerville has revealed his thoughts after his ex-wife made her new relationship public. The singer and former Love Island star, 39, and Rebecca Vieira announced their split in March 2024, two years after the couple married one another.
The musician from the Blazin’ Squad was “utterly broken” when he learned that she had been sending racy messages to another man. Now, it appears that Marcel has found peace and has spent time focusing on himself.
While many would still hold a grudge, the musician who is returning with his latest single, Did For Love, has spoken about how he’s happy that Rebecca has found someone who makes her happy. It comes after Liam Neeson’s son reacts to his dad’s romance with Pamela Anderson.

Marcel Somerville has revealed he has no negative felings towards his ex-wife, Rebecca(Image: Instagram)
“I found out that Rebecca’s got a new partner, which is good,” he told the Mirror. He went on to add: “I’m glad that she’s found someone new.” Marcel continued: “My biggest priority is Roman,” his son, adding: “He is my heart outside of my chest. He’s literally the love of my life.
” I love that boy with all my heart, so everything that I’m trying to do, I’m just trying to do things with the level of decorum and level of respect so that he’s not affected by what’s going on too much. I’m not going to speak for Rebecca or what she’s feeling, but I’m making an effort to resolve issues as quickly and as peacefully as possible.
We are co-parenting, and Roman, who plays the central role in our relationship for the rest of our lives, is what we need to make sure we get right. With her moving on and doing her thing, I’m glad she’s found someone who wants to be with her.
Roman, I’m just more focused on myself and on just getting through life. There is still a way to go before I can fully recover from that journey and feel like I want to be in that same situation once more. But in regards to Roman, I’m out here trying to be the best dad and best man I can be to make sure he’s growing up happy and thriving. “

Marcel later shared a cryptic post, but he doesn’t intend to cover up his ex-wife, despite Rebecca providing insight into her new relationship. When everyone’s been contacting me, I’ve been like ‘ I’ve seen it, it’s not triggering me, ‘ “he commented. He continued, “I’ve made a decision to choose myself and choose self-respect over sticking with something that wasn’t right for me.”
“Rebecca’s moving on is not an uproar. Good luck to her, I really hope it works out for them. I want to make sure they are firmly established if this is the person who will be around my son, so I’m hoping this is the case and she is content. That’s the case, I hope.
Nowadays, the musician is happier in himself and is living a relaxed and free life, with “respect and as much compassion” as he can. His most recent single, Did For Love, a house track, respectfully addresses the breakdown of his marriage. He said, “I’m so excited,” while reflecting on the track that will be out this Friday. I’ve lived decades in music, this is the realest and most honest pieces of work I’ve ever made.
The song is about me reflecting on love, the choices I’ve made for someone I love, and the choices I’ve made in terms of loving myself. He claimed that he had been working on this project for two years after his marriage broke down, and that he had been working on it for the past year. While working on the music, he poured his soul into the tracks, with some having” hurt “in them.
Marcel’s latest track, Did For Love, explores him finding happiness again(Image: Dave Benett/Getty Images)
He explained, “With this song, there’s no hurt; I feel like I’ve healed myself since the situation;” he is reflecting on the wise choices he’s made in his life and the choice to “walk away from someone who wasn’t good for him.” I had to make the choice to walk away, I needed to love myself again, “Marcel said.
Marcel admits to putting on a persona with his rapping while growing up in the Blazin’ Squad, but in recent years he has been living his true self through his music. He said, “This is the most difficult situation I’ve ever had to go through in my life,” before stating that although he had previously experienced difficult circumstances, his heartache had not been equal.
He said:” The experience of being in something that you thought was going to last forever and doing everything you could do to try and make it last forever, then realising that it’s not, it has a mental toll on you. It can rob you a lot. I believe that when I wrote the song, I put down the lyrics and the beat because I felt like I was a release because everyone in my life is aware of what is happening.
Marcel’s sole focus is now living respectfully for the sake of his son(Image: instagram/@marcel_rockyb)
“I’ve tried to handle the situation with decorum and respect and not say anything about Rebecca because I don’t think it’s on me to do that,” said one person who knows my life. When you listen to the lyrics of the song, I’m not talking about Rebecca; I’m talking about me going through the situation and reflecting on who I was in it.
Aged just 15, Marcel found himself swapping the school hall for the bright lights of fame with the Blazin ‘ Squad. He and his bandmates were touring the country and performing in concert every night at the age of 16 just one year later. The band’s six top ten hits included the recognizable Crossroads.
“Dealing with that and living this wave of the craziest and best life”, he said, adding: “When the record label doesn’t take up the third option on the album, you’re thinking ‘ What do I do next? ‘ I learned from living through the upheaval and dealing with the downfall that life can go up when things don’t go down.
“My life has been spent on numerous occasions. “Just two years after he found fame, Blazin ‘ Squad came to an end, with Marcel finding himself working on the other side of music, in a publishing company. Just before Love Island knocked on his door, he later discovered that he had already been fired from the position.

But working in publishing gave Marcel a different perspective on the music industry. He found himself looking into music production and production after settling on Love Island. I was managing artists, so it was a good idea to bring all of the information with me.
” So I was able to teach people about it and bring it to the front, there’s a lot of artists who don’t know that they’re meant to sign up for PPL and PRS to get the royalties. I was involved in a lot of development, development production, and management tasks. I was imparting the knowledge I had learned.
“I always knew about that stuff, but when you’re in the industry, you’ve obviously got publishers and people that deal with that stuff. You learn even more by actually doing the legwork and discovering new ways to earn money from music. What has he learned most about himself after almost 25 years of being in the public eye?
“I’m resilient, I can adapt to the harder situations”, he said. He continued, “You’ll always come out no matter how difficult the situation is as long as you handle yourself in the right way, you handle things the right way, and you handle things properly.”

” It’s when things don’t go in the right way, people tend to be like ‘ I’m going to take a step back’, so handling yourself with decorum and giving yourself freedom to try new things and just be resilient in life. It’s about reinventing yourself and living true to yourself in these challenging industries, they’re difficult to navigate and maintain. At the touch of a dime, life changes.

Welcome to the club if you’ve ever seen an outfit “in the wild” and thought, “I have that,” I immediately had to track down Damson Madder’s leopard print Persephone Midi Dress when I saw someone wearing it on the street in London. I was so taken by how flattering and effortlessly cool it was.
Imagine my relief when I learned that it was still in stock and that it also had a significant 50% discount, reducing the cost from £95 to £48. I’ve never been so pleased with a purchase, and it immediately went into my basket.

My studded clogs cost less than Birkenstock’s and are the ideal summer-to-autumn pair.
I wore the Persephone Midi Dress the very next day for dinner and drinks with a friend, and I can’t remember the last time a dress got me so many compliments. From strangers to friends to people on Instagram, everyone raved about how flattering, unusual and fun the dress was, with its drop waist and bow details.
It has a shirred back that allows for some movement while still maintaining its fitted silhouette, a square neckline, and thin spaghetti straps that are fully adjustable. Although I’m petite at 5’4″ and a curvy size 14, I was pleasantly surprised by how much taller and proportionate it made me look, even though I wasn’t sure if the drop waist would fit my body type.

I went up from my regular size and am glad I did because it kept the Persephone Midi Dress form-fitting but didn’t feel overly tight and restrictive. I felt a size up would have hung a little nicer and didn’t highlight any lumps or bumps because the fabric has little stretch aside from the shirring and is made of a fairly structured material.
The leopard print version of the Damson Madder dress is currently out of stock, and the size 8 is available in six to twenty. If animal print isn’t your thing, you can get it in a black and white gingham check with contrast-colored bows on the hips and a £38 discount.

The Persephone Midi Dress was the most wearable option for both the day and the evening, which I adored. A simple swap to some kitten heels and a clutch would add some drama for evenings out, while a pair of ballet flats, sandals, or even trainers would make it casual enough for brunch, picnics in the park, or even sightseeing on vacation.

Iconic Hollywood director Francis Ford Coppola has issued an update on his health after being hospitalised in Italy following an appearance at a film festival

Francis Ford Coppola has issued a health update after concerning reports he had been hospitalised in Italy. It was suggested in local media that the iconic director of the Godfather film, 86, had been rushed to hospital unexpectedly in the Italian city on August 5.
The apparent scare came as he was in the country for the Magna Grecia Festival in Calabria to present his controversial movie, Megalopolis, which stars Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, and Giancarlo Esposito.
However, he took to social media to clear up the situation and insisted he is “well”. Taking to Instagram, the five-time Oscar winner clarified: “Da Dada (what my kids call me) is fine, taking an opportunity while in Rome to do the update of my 30 year old afib procedure with its inventor, a great Italian doctor – Dr. Andrea Natale! I am well!”

The director updated followers on social media(Image: Corbis via Getty Images)
He shared the update alongside an image of himself grinning. And his followers were thrilled with his announcement.
Among those sharing their delight was actress Sharon Stone. She wrote: “We love you honey,” along with an emoji with love heart eyes.
Another user penned: “I’m glad you’re doing ok. It’s bad enough we lost David Lynch this year. We can’t afford to lose another brilliant filmmaker in the same year.” They added emojis of praying hands and a bandaged heart on their comment.
The update comes after the director recently addressed a crowd at the film festival in Italy. He spent a lot of the summer in Italy scouting locations for his new film, which is said to start filming this autumn, as reported by ANSA.
He told the crowd: “Young people tell me the world is a mess, but I tell them there’s no problem that humanity can’t solve. We must build a great new future, and do it together for the sake of our children. And tonight, we’re taking a leap into the future.”

The legendary director has long had close ties to the country thanks to his grandfather, Agostino, who emigrated from Bernalda in the early 1900s. In 1989, Francis became an honorary citizen of the town.
Francis’ huge film Megalopolis released earlier this year to mixed reviews. The decades-in-the-making project stars Adam Driver as a rich and tortured visionary trying to build a utopian city while rowing with a conservative mayor. It’s said the film cost a huge $120million but only grossed just over $14million across the globe.
However, the figures didn’t appear to bother the icon. He said: “I lost my wife a year ago, around this time. But my attitude for death is that I always lived my life so that when I was at the moment approaching death, I wouldn’t say, ‘Oh, I wish I had done this and I wish I had done that.’ Instead, I say to myself, ‘I got to do this.’”
“I got to see my daughter win an Oscar. I got to see my father win an Oscar. I’m going to be so busy saying all the things I got to do that when I die, I’m not going to notice it. When I die, I’m not going to notice it. You know how your electric toothbrush just shuts off when you least expect it? That’s what death is like.”
As well as his work on The Godfather, Francis is also known for The Cotton Club, Peggy Sue Got Married, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Outsiders and The Rainmaker.

Gen Z beauty trends regularly disrupt the internet. We’re talking about under-eye bags, blush blindness, and the morning shed, just to name a few. Pimple patches are the most recent topic to bring up some debate.
And now, football star Lauren James is getting in on the action, sporting the £9 spot stickers that have already found fans in celebs like Pink Pantheress, Hailey and Justin Bieber, and SZA. Cute, controversial, and clinically effective, these tiny patches are making a major statement.
The 23-year-old was seen rocking Starface’s Pink Hydro-Star Patches, $8.99, while observing the Lionesses’ victory parade around London.
While looking adorable on your face, this pack of 32 pink, star-shaped stickers helps reduce redness, absorb gunk, and reduce spots. These patches are made of 100% hydrocolloid, which helps to control inflammation, prevent acne, and stop skin wrinkling (a bad habit I’m sure we all have once had).
This £25 vanilla body mist is in demand because Love Island’s Toni and Billykiss can’t stop ingesting it.

When you’re running around, cooking dinner at home, or celebrating your recent Euros win, Hydro-Stars are precisely shaped to hug your skin and stay put.
They’re vegan, cruelty-free, and dermatologist-tested, so they actually help you get breakouts rather than just concealing them. They’re safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Pimple patches were initially intended to cover up spots without appearing too obvious and blend in with skin. There are some fantastic invisible designs that don’t stand out from ordinary on the face from The Inkey List and Mighty Patch.
However, Starface completely changed the game with its instantly recognisable star patches, which were created specifically to stand out after its launch in 2019.

The recent shift in beauty standards is highlighted by the popularity of these patches. Gen Z embraces and highlights previous “shameful” imperfections rather than cover-up acne, scars, or blemishes in secret. It’s both a conscious choice to reject overly airbrushed or filtered faces as well as a form of fun and self-expression.
