Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has revealed she caused the break up of a celebrity couple after making one gesture at a glitzy showbiz bash that ended in an awkward confrontation

Sophie Turner has boldly admitted she was to blame for breaking up a celebrity couple following a run-in at a lavish party. The Game of Thrones actress, 29, shocked fans with the wild confession as she laid it all bare.

She decided to make the revelation while on Late Night with Seth Meyers as she reminisced about her first meeting with the TV host. Sophie said they met over a decade ago at San Diego Comic-Con but confessed her night “quickly went south”.

The actress said she headed to the event’s after party and was excited to let her hair down. It comes after Andy Carroll ‘splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands’ weeks after public row.

Sophie recalled: “We were going to have a great night… and I can’t name names ’cause I’ll get in trouble… but I had brought my best friend from school days and she saw an actor she absolutely loved and asked if I could just say hi…”

She said she’d never met the unidentified actor before and decided to give him a smile from across the room to break the ice. “And that was it,” Sophie said.

However, things didn’t end there. Sophie continued: “And then later on I see this girl looking at me and she’s a famous actress and I was like ‘I have to go tell her how much she means to me’.

“So I dance on over and she goes, ‘Can you stop f****** flirting with my fiance?’ And I was like, ‘Who’s your fiancé?’ And she points to the guy that I waved at and I still have no idea who this man is.”

Sophie shockingly revealed: “Turns out, they broke their engagement off that night because of my [wave]. I didn’t realise I held this power.”

Earlier this week, Sophie issued a savage response after she was mum-shamed over her kids. She shares daughters, Willa, four, and Delphine, two, with her ex-husband, Joe Jonas.

Sophie, who is reportedly back with her on/off boyfriend, aristocrat, Peregrine Pearson, co-parents her kids with Joe, who lives in LA. However, she was accused of ‘forgetting’ about her daughters by a troll online.

Sharing a photo of herself at Oasis’ gig in London, the Sansa Stark star wrote: “Bucket hats and beers. That’ll do me. Thank you @Levis.” Responding to Sophie, one of her followers said: “Lmfao I think she has forgotten that she has two kids.”

Yet, Sophie shot back: “Ah, I’m so sorry, sometimes, I forget some people can’t think for themselves. So, get this… There’s this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.”

Sophie was married to Joe from 2019 to 2023 before the singer filed for divorce in September 2023, which kick-started a lengthy and messy custody battle.

Brooklyn has yet to formally address the row. But this week on social media, he gave his clearest sign yet of how he was feeling by liking a comment of an Instagram user who had defended Nicola.

The person had written: “Why is it assumed that she made the decision to exclude them? … If he really wanted his parents there, they would be.”

The Mirror told this week how the rift was so bad between David and Victoria Beckham and their and their daughter in-law that the pair only found out about the vow renewal when they read the news and saw the photos online.

Pals of Nicola and Brooklyn also told how his siblings Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, were also not invited after what they claimed was a series of online barbs.

One said: “Brooklyn’s brothers have been fanning the flames. They’ve openly made fun of and trolled Brooklyn in comments on social media.” But some have questioned why the whole family had to be blacklisted.

The whole Beckham clan – including sister Harper, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins – were left out of the August 2 celebration in the US. As one insider told the Mirror: “Why punish the whole family for what is essentially a fallout with just the mum and dad?”

Pals had claimed it was hard to leave out Harper, 14, who is close to Brooklyn and his grandparents. One said: “They are trying to make the best decisions for them in what are very unfortunate circumstances. Navigating family stuff is hard and it’s ugly.”

The couple still claim to hope for a reconciliation. The pal said: “The door is open. No one wants to see this kind of pain exist. There is always hope. At the end of the day, blood is thicker than water.”

Workers at a pub in the Cotswolds threatened to walk out after they discovered that American Vice President JD Vance had hoped to dine there during his trip to the UK

A pub in the Cotswolds was almost faced with chaos after dinner reservations were made for Vice President JD Vance, according to reports. It’s claimed the US vice president was expected to attend a gastro-pub in the area, but had to swiftly change plans.

Vance has been on a family holiday with his wife, Usha Chilukuri, 39, and their three children. His visit to the UK had sparked controversy after locals hit out at him for making their life “hell” due to the multiple car police convoys and buzzing helicopters.

And now, it’s been reported that one group of staff took matters into their own hands. It’s thought Vance had reservations at the Bull Pub, which entertained former US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris last week. It comes after Vogue Williams quits drinking after blacking out drunk at lavish showbiz wedding.

But workers were reportedly unimpressed with a planned visit from the Vance clan and threatened to walk out if his reservation was honoured.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Richard Fairhurst, who runs the local Charlbury community blog, said: “It’s very widely believed locally [that staff refused to serve Vance] but The Bull are keeping schtum.’

The showbiz blog Popbitch also wrote: “The mutinous staff all said they wouldn’t come to work if they had to serve Vance and his wife. Facing staff grumbles and a barrage of negative press attention, The Bull refused his patronage.”

But Vance’s camp played down the alleged incident, with a source saying: “The Bull was included as a potential option for lunch, but the family ultimately decided not to go. There was never any indication from the Bull that he or his family were not welcome.”

The Bull is owned by florist, Willow Crossley. Her floral designs were featured at the 2018 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Vance’s UK visit comes as his friendship with The Apprentice star Tom Skinner is also in the public eye of late. The reality TV star’s upcoming Strictly Come Dancing appearance has fans of the BBC show outraged.

While some of Tom’s followers enjoyed his no-nonsense posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, his controversial opinions have also landed him in hot water at times.

He recently confirmed he had enjoyed a BBQ with the US Vice President after he had shown support for convicted felon Donald Trump and the Republican Party. Vance and Skinner had previously interacted on social media before meeting “in the beautiful English countryside” where the VP is holidaying.

After hanging out, Tom wrote on X: “Unreal night with JD and his friends and family. He was a proper gent. Lots of laughs and some fantastic food. A brilliant night, one to tell the grandkids about.”

He also posted a picture of himself posing with Vance after a “couple of beers”. He said: “Here is a pic of Me and Vice President @JDVance towards the end of the night after a few beers.

“I’m overdressed in my suit, but when the VP invites you to a BBQ, you don’t risk turning up in shorts and flip-flops. Cracking night in the beautiful English countryside with JD, his friends and family. Once in a lifetime. Bosh.”

Derry Girls actress Saoirse-Monica Jackson and her DJ partner honoured their Celtic roots as they tied the knot in a spectacular three-day Irish celebration.

The 31-year-old, famed for portraying schoolgirl Erin Quinn in the beloved Channel 4 series, donned a cream gown featuring puff sleeves as she exchanged vows with Hector Barbour, professionally known as Denis Sulta, near Kenmare in Co Kerry.

Fellow Derry Girls star Jamie-Lee O’Donnell opted for an elegant floor-length green Rat & Boa number whilst serving as one of the bridesmaids, as Jackson made her way down the aisle, accompanied by her father, to a rendition of the programme’s iconic theme tune Dreams by The Cranberries. Last night, a source close to the sale said: “They were in negotiation on the price, and it isn’t on the market any more, which would suggest it’s a done deal.”

The couple’s first home was hit by flooding but they’ve since relocated to a £38 million hilltop pad set in sprawling grounds. It is around a 30-minute drive from their original home, and planning documents show it has a “sustainable drainage system” and is not “at risk of flooding.”

Brad Pitt reportedly owns a home nearby, while Tom Cruise and singer Ariana Grande are frequent visitors. Last August, Taylor Swift and her partner Travis Kelce rented a £33.3 million bolthole in the village of Great Tew during the UK leg of her Eras tour.

And the late tech giant Steve Jobs’ daughter Eve, 27, wed Olympic show jumper Harry Charles, 26, in the local church last month. Guests at the ceremony included Former US Vice President Kamala Harris, Bill Gates’s daughter Jennifer and Bruce Springsteen’s daughter, Jessica.

US Vice President JD Vance is currently holidaying with his family at Dean Manor, a Grade II-listed country home in the tiny Cotswolds hamlet of Dean. He also stayed with the Foreign Secretary David Lammy in Kent and will later travel to Scotland.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are no strangers to the property market. In 2017, they moved into a 12,000 sq ft residence in Malibu, complete with a cinema, gym, wine cellar and ocean views. And they splashed out £66 million later that year for a 30,000 sq ft mansion in Bel Air, California, with eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, four swimming pools and a 15-car garage.

News of the couple’s UK move comes hours after Beyoncé won her first Emmy award for Beyoncé Bowl – her Christmas Day halftime NFL show streamed by Netflix.

When approached by the Mirror, the previous landowner declined to comment. Beyonce’s publicist was approached for comment.
