ITV I’m A Celebrity bosses ‘planning for emergency evacuations as flood hits camp’

After being hit by floods, I’m A Celebrity stars were forced to flee their tents.

When the storm was wreaking havoc, bosses reportedly created emergency plans to evacuate the stars from the Bush Telegraph and place them in safe haven. A portion of the set was destroyed, according to sources, and the site’s roads were flooded. The trial from last night had to be pushed back by an hour.

Over the weekend, Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly shared their journey inside the camp on social media. They had to cross a flooded road with their vehicles. Ant, 49, explained: “We all got texts this morning saying the rain is so bad you might not even make it in today”.

Dec, also 49, then said: “It was an effort to get the show on air today. Only a small number of people showed up. According to sources, bosses were worried the storm, which had 114.5mm of rain falling in only 24 hours, could hit their satellite system as well as the coverage.

Speaking to The Sun, the insider said: “All the campmates are fine, but producers monitored them on Saturday night as the storm worsened. The crew had trouble arriving on the job site. There was a point when the amount of filming would be taken seriously. Fortunately, it calmed down a bit and all was OK”.

An ITV spokesperson said of the situation: “We have contingency plans in place to cover all weather eventualities, the health and safety of our celebrities is an absolute priority”.

Joel Dommett, the star of Unpacked, revealed that Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers had also been informed about the weather and that the set locations might be difficult to access. Then Ant and Dec stated that the set’s components had been completely destroyed and that a planned trial was in danger of being abandoned as a result of the bad weather.

Ant revealed: “]The trial] has been delayed because of the weather. Therefore, today we will be here much longer. Dec continued, “We just need to make sure the trial that was scheduled is successful in the place where it was.” Here, everything is a little “up in the air.”

Then, Joel said, “People don’t understand that this show is more than what you see on television.” There is a complete infrastructure. And revealing some details of destruction, Ant went on: “Things have blown down in the night. A tent is located in the back where guests from the ITV2 show can stay before leaving. And that’s all blown away. That’s all gone. It’s been pretty tough”.

Prunella Scales ‘not well enough to understand’ death of husband Timothy West

At the age of 90, renowned actor Timothy West, whose credits include “Day of the Jackal,” “On the Run” and “On the Edge,” passed away last month.

His wife, Prunella Scales, famed for her role in Fawlty Towers, suffers from dementia and according to their son Samuel, she is “not well enough” to comprehend the loss of her husband. West, who also cared for Prunella during his life, died “peacefully in his sleep” on November 12.

The beloved actor’s passing was announced by his agent and his three offspring, Samuel, Juliet, and Joseph, through a statement which said: “After a long and extraordinary life on and off the stage, our darling father Timothy West died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening. He was 90 years old”.

Further, it noted: “Tim was with friends and family at the end. He leaves his wife Prunella Scales, to whom he was married for 61 years, a sister, a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren”.

Additionally, the statement thanked NHS staff for their exceptional care: “All of us will miss him terribly. We would like to express our gratitude to the amazing NHS staff at St. George’s Hospital, Tooting, and Avery Wandsworth for their compassionate care of his final days.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Samuel said about his mother, now 92, “All I am going to say is she’s not really well enough to take it all in”., reports the Express. The famous duo first met in the early 1960s while co-producing the period TV show She Died Young. They shared a story on Loose Women last year and frequently exchanged letters and crossword puzzles while they were younger.

When discussing their letter-writing tradition, he once mentioned: “We love writing letters about something that the other person might have missed or not quite understood. We would talk to one another about things and make each other laugh.

In his book Pru and Me: A Love Story, which was released last year to honor their diamond anniversary, Timothy chronicled their union in 1963. However, their lives took a significant turn in 2014 when Prunella was formally diagnosed with vascular dementia, a condition that affects memory, thinking, and behaviour.

In a BBC interview last year, Timothy recounted the doctor’s words during the diagnosis: “We went to see a specialist who said, ‘ Sorry, this is just something which happens to you when you are older and it’s not going to get any easier, but you can cope with it. Don’t let it get you down. ‘”.

Helen Skelton opens up on how parenthood has changed her as she says it’s the ‘ultimate ironman’

Helen Skelton, a television presenter, reveals that she has reached the point where she no longer values opinions and feels at ease with herself. The 41-year-old, mum to three young children, says she is too busy to sweat the small stuff.

Now she worries much less about what she says, what others think and what she eats, instead focusing on having fun, enjoying her TV projects and spending time with Ernie, nine, Louis, seven, and little Elsie, who will turn three this Christmas. Helen, host of BBC1’s Morning Live and Channel 5’s seasonal On The Farm shows, says: “I think we’re past counting calories aren’t we? It’s not fun. You reach the point where you believe fun is impossible because life is too short.

After eight years of marriage, the ex-Blue Peter presenter, who had eight years before, wed England rugby league player Richie Myler in 2022, and they now reside together in a gorgeous new home in Cumbria. As the kids chatter in the background, Helen laughs: “It’s like Piccadilly Circus around here.

” I always say it’s not a kid that needs a nanny, I need a nanny – to do all the boring stuff. Helen acknowledges that she must balance working and parenting with a lot of other people. She says:” I’m very lucky… most of my friends work way more, in offices or schools or hospitals.

They take the blame for my lack of work, they claim. TV work is feast or famine, so you have a crazy few weeks, then you have a really quiet month”. It should come as no surprise that daredevil Helen has signed up for something else because she has famously tackled grueling challenges in the past, such as kayaking the Amazon for Sport Relief, running the Namibian ultra marathon, cycling to the South Pole, and tightrope walking for Comic Relief.

She says: “I’ve just, stupidly, I don’t know why, agreed to do a fitness competition at the end of January with one of my friends. I’ve never attempted something quite like it, and the challenge is essentially glorified circuits. It is terrifying”. But Helen’s attitude is that if you’ve given birth then you can probably do anything.

She says: “Having kids is the ultimate ironman. It’s incredible, I think women need to hear that. I’ve done marathons, I’ve done ultra marathons, but labour is harder”. Helen felt more at ease in her own body after reaching the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2022.

She explains: “Being on Strictly helped me realise what I could do. Louis loves dancing because of Strictly, he wants to be like Gorka]Marquez, her professional partner]”.

Helen loves documenting with South Yorkshire farmers Rob and Dave at Cannon Hall Farm, which returns with a new series of Winter On The Farm on Tuesday. Helen has a passion for farming and the outdoors, which is evident from her upbringing.

She says: “My dad was a dairy farmer, my grandad was a farmer before him. When I was a kid, we had to help out, that’s just what you do”.

Helen is thankful for every TV opportunity. She recently enjoyed documenting the Lake District’s upcoming BBC1 show Lost and Found in the Lake, which centers on fishing for lost objects. She says, “I never take it for granted that people welcome us into their living rooms. Someone chooses what to put on the television, and they invite us to join them for tea. I love my job and I’m just so grateful”.

On Channel 5, Winter On the Farm airs every four nights starting on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Dame Judi Dench gobsmacked as her PARROT hits out at her in foul-mouthed rant

In a furious rant, Dame Judi Dench’s own parrot has slammed her.

The legendary actress, 89, will celebrate her 90th birthday in just a matter of days and despite being one of the most-loved stars in the nation, her parrot doesn’t always think the same. Dame Judi, who is best known for playing Queen Elizabeth I and M in James Bond, has revealed in a rare interview about her life.

Dame Judi revealed that she frequently spends a lot of time talking to her partner, 81-year-old David Mills, who she has been dating since 2010. Dame Judi found love with David after her husband, Michael Williams, passed away from lung cancer in 2001.

The Philomena actress enjoys engaging in conversation with conservationist David in particular. While she admits she’s “hopeless at my own company”, it’s her beloved African grey parrot, Sweetie, who she also confides in. The Tony-winning actor made the revelation in a statement to The Sunday Times that Sweetie’s fans ought to be aware of her rather foul mouth.

Dame Judi Dench has revealed her parrot, Sweetie, has a potty mouth (BBC)

She told the outlet: “We had a long chat just now. You shouldn’t ask what she says. She says ‘ You’re a sl*t’, ‘ you’re a sl*g’, she has said ‘ Boris Johnson ‘ but she didn’t get that from me. She listens to the radio. My God, she’s funny though, she’s very, very funny. Everybody should have a parrot, or a myna bird. Their voices are absolutely incredible”.

Meanwhile, a source who was present at the London Sondheim Theatre’s Christmas edition of I Remember It Well with Dame Judi and Gyles Brandreth reported to the Mirror that Dame Judi informed the audience that Sweetie had made a rather vile observation about her grandson’s girlfriend. After revealing that she was wearing thermal underwear to stay warm, Dame Judi addressed the audience and called Sam Williams’ girlfriend “a s*t.”

However, Dame Judi previously spoke about her winged friend after she begged Sweetie for help after suffering a nasty fall at her Surrey home. The actress, who is losing her sight as a result of macular degeneration, previously described how she spent 30 minutes lying on the floor at her Surrey home.

Speaking in 2022, Dame Judi said: “I had a frightful fall not long ago. I fell over the carpet, fell over, and spent the next 30 minutes lying on the floor. I have a wonderful parrot who kept saying, ‘ What are you doing? What are you doing? ‘ When you need a very convenient parrot to call someone, but she didn’t, so we did.

She confirmed that she will be having dinner with her daughter Finty Williams and her grandson Sam Williams, who has already established himself as a household name thanks to his popularity on TikTok. Barbara Broccoli, the Ivy, the producer of 007, is also having lunch with her.

Claire Sweeney’s message to alarmed fans as she breaks silence on Ricky Hatton split

When it was reported this week that Ricky Hatton and Claire Sweeney had split up, the media was shocked.

The tumultuous relationship started earlier this year when boxing champion Ricky, 46, and soap queen Claire, 53, met while competing on ITV’s Dancing On Ice. However, it appears that the two were unable to leave their relationship and have since agreed to end it.

The couple reportedly hoped to continue being close friends, but their romance sputtered as a result of their different lifestyles. Claire was seen looking out of the world at Sunday’s performance of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical in London following the split’s announcement.

She rocked a plunging form-fitting white dress with a matching mesh cape at the event. The star made sure to match her lipstick color to her nails with the added sparkles, which completed the look. She also had blond hair that ran down her shoulder and wore silver high heels.

Speaking about the breakup, she told MailOnline: “I’m great – we’re still friends, we were friends, we dated and now we’re friends again. It’s all good”! A source earlier today assured the publication that there wasn’t “fallout between them” and that the former couple “mainstay good friends.”

They decided they should be friends and are no longer romantically involved. They enjoyed their time as a couple and have plenty of shared interests, but their lifestyles are very different”, a source said. Offering some insight into the cause of the split, the source continued: “While Claire is one of the biggest stars on Coronation Street and is very career-gliding, Ricky’s more freewheeling and unpredictable.

Ricky is already packing his belongings for a trip to Tenerife, where he feels more at home. Meanwhile, Claire’s putting her heart and soul into her career, leaving romance behind. According to the source, Claire is being consoled by close friends and fellow cast members.

The star has two divorces: one with Tony Hibbard from 2001 to 2007 and the other with Daniel Reilly from 2013 to 2015. Meanwhile, Ricky has never married but was in an 11-year romance with Jennifer Dooley from 2005 until 2016. He is also the father of 23-year-old boxer Campbell Hatton, who he shares with another ex-girlfriend who is also called Claire.
