Ashley Walters, the actor and former So Solid Crew star, has revealed his secret to a happy home life with his family. You might think that’s what you’d expect.

Ashley Walters has revealed the strict rule he uses to stay connected to his kids. The 42-year-old Top Boy actor is currently starring in hit Netflix drama Adolescence alongside Stephen Graham.

The actor is a father of eight, who was also a member of UK garage band So Solid Crew in the early Noughties. He is step-dad to his partner’s child from another relationship, step-dad to his ex-partner’s child from another relationship, step-dad to two daughters from another relationship, Amaiya-Love, nine, and River, five, with his current wife Danielle Isaie, as well as having three grown-up kids with his ex-partner Natalie Williams and step-dad to his two daughters from another relationship.

And he claims that arranging for a weekly family meal and removing all unnecessary items from the kitchen are the keys to a happy home life. Have Sunday lunch with your kids and keep their devices a lock, he told the Daily Mail. We do that, too.

My wife and I have lunch together and talk every Sunday and place our children’s devices in a safe. The majority of us are equipped with such things. Even though our devices are fantastic, I firmly believe they have taken something away from us. That human connection that you can express your feelings to someone.

Ashley continued to add that everyone can cope with their issues when they are able to communicate in a relaxed family setting. He said, “A problem can be halved if it is shared.” It is authentic. It functions. We can become less enraged if we can discuss it. We discuss a problem, and we can talk about it without feeling down.

The confession comes as Ashley’s latest acting project Adolescence, about a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a female schoolmate after becoming influenced by online misogyny, has become a huge hit on Netflix. It also tipped to be nominated at the TV BAFTAS, which take place in May.

Ashley previously admitted he was surprised by his 15-year-old co-star Owen Cooper, and the show tackles the hard-hitting themes of toxic masculinity and the “manosphere.” He claimed to be a magician in GQ magazine. I had no idea how he was acting. I was shocked at how confident he was as I watched him.

He says, “He’s just holding his own with everyone,” not only with his first professional job, but it’s also his first with one-take episodes and actors who are very experienced. I have a lot of respect for him, and I think he will achieve great things.

Owen helped me recall what I ought to be attempting to achieve: that childlike innocence that you should strive to retain in every job even as an adult. That’s what acting is all about: letting go of any limitations or how society might have affected you, or simply believing in what you’re doing.

*Now available to watch Adolescence on Netflix.

Shameless star Tina Malone sobs as she opens up about husband’s tragic suicide

In a heartfelt interview, Tina Malone shared her heartbreak, breaking down as she contemplated the passing of her husband, Paul Chase.

Tina Malone has opened up about the pain of losing her husband, Paul Chase, who tragically took his own life last year. Tina is best known for playing Mimi Maguire in Shameless and is also recognised for her roles in Brookside and Celebrity Big Brother. Last year, Tina shared her heartbreak following the death of Paul and since then, has been campaigning for more support for former members of the Armed Forces.

The actress, 62, opened up about the emotional roller coaster she’s been riding since Paul’s passing. Paul had served in the army and committed suicide in March 2023 at the age of 42. Before their reconciliation in 2020, Tina described the challenging situations they both faced as a couple, including their split in 2019.

During the conversation, Tina was overcome with emotion as she recalled Paul’s service and the struggles he faced. In a promo clip, she shared: “My husband fought in Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland. He went from Belize to Cyprus, and he had a wonderful life in the army. But 4.8 veterans take their own lives in the UK every week.”

She urged more people to be aware of the problem, saying, “You never hear about it, and it needs to change now.”

Tina revealed last year that her husband, a veteran of the military, committed suicide. His mental health had fallen drastically in the 12 months leading up to his death. I hadn’t discussed this in public until this minute, Tina said at the time. For the first time in my opinion, I have confirmed it. Paul did kill himself. I think there is truth.

The TV personality continued, “I’ll never get over it. I adore and miss him dearly. One thing I am aware of is that he is more advantageous than we are.

Paul served his country for ten years before being given the nickname “Chevy” by Army pals as a result of his surname. However, he was ultimately overthrown by the enemy inside. And Tina “just knew” when police knocked on their shared home in Liverpool. She had previously stated that “Paul hadn’t arrived home the night before.” I recognized the sirens, the flashing blue lights, and the sirens.

Tina and Paul got married after falling in love in the unlikely setting of a boot camp in 2009 despite the 21-year age difference. They had daughter Flame, who is now 10, when she was 50. She admits, “I really wouldn’t want to be here if I didn’t have Flame.”

She described how Paul had turned to drinking and drugs as a result of his downward spiral of anxiety and depression. She said, “He felt empty and lost.” He was unable to continue fighting. Drugs weren’t just for fun. Drinking was not social.

Following campaigns supported by this newspaper to support veterans returning to civilian life, the Ministry of Defense finally released data on the number of suicides among military veterans for the first time last year. In 2021, according to the Office for National Statistics, veterans aged 35 to 44 had an average suicide rate of 33.5 per 100 000, compared to 18.8 per 100 000 in the most recent figures.

And veterans with mental health issues, like those who work for Icarus, are only too aware of the need for quick, efficient assistance. According to medical director Sarah Jones, “the better the outcome is the sooner someone gets professional help.”

Four years ago, Paul was diagnosed with PTSD. Tina founded Paul’s Flame, a foundation that helps those in crisis, on May 28 for his birthday. She said, “You have depression, you have emotional issues because of what you’ve seen,” and he would rant about the army when he was drunk. But he would discard it. If he had that, he might ask, “How will I get a job?” In the end, he acknowledged it, but by that point, things had already gotten too far.

This man fought for his country, they say. I can only survive by attempting to help others, advocating for change, and addressing the issues facing veterans and soldiers.

Meghan Markle’s awkward run-in with woman at heart of Prince Harry’s charity row

Prince Harry made the “devastating” choice to leave a charity he founded in honor of his late mother, Diana. And just a few months ago, his wife Meghan and the woman at the center of the contentious conflict engulfing the organization had an awkward conversation.

Prince Harry has found himself embroiled in a “shocking” row after sensationally resigning from his own charity. The Duke of Sussex made the “devastating” decision to leave Sentebale, an African children’s charity he founded to honour his late mother Diana, as relationships within the organisation “broke down beyond repair.”

When trustees complained about Dr. Sophie Chandauka, the chairwoman of the charity’s board, and demanded her resignation, the boardroom conflict erupted into a heated argument. She allegedly sued the charity to keep her in the voluntary position, leading to a mass exodus. In show of support for the entire board of trustees, Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho have decided to leave. Mark Dyer, a former equerry to the King and a lifelong friend of Harry’s, is one of them.

Both princes said in a brutal joint statement that was leaked on Tuesday night that they had founded Sentebale in honor of our mothers. In Sesotho, Lesotho’s native language, Sesotho, Senebale means “forget-me-not,” which is what we’ve always promised to the young people we’ve served through this organization.

“There is no different today. In support of and in solidarity with the board of trustees, who has been forced to do the same, we have resigned from our positions as organization’s patrons until further notice. The dysfunctional relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chair of the board caused an untenable situation, which is devastating. “

When they asked the chair to step down while keeping the welfare of the staff in mind, these trustees acted in the charity’s best interest. She then filed a lawsuit against the charity, which demonstrates how discordant the relationship is. We applaud all the trustees who have helped the organization over the years and are heartbroken that they have had to carry out this act. “

Dr. Chandauka made an apparent attack on the duke for “playing the victim card” and “going to the press” in response. She stated in her own statement that Sentebale pursues its mission, the organization’s integrity, and the young people we serve. Regardless of social status or financial circumstances, the principles of fairness and equitable treatment for all guide my decisions. People in this world act as though they are above the law and treat others badly, then play the victim, and use the very press they despise to harm those who have the guts to challenge their actions. “

She also claimed that the Charity Commission had received information from trustees and that an emergency injunction had been issued to stop her removal. The woman who dared to make the case about issues of poor governance, weak executive management, bullying, harassment, misogyny, misogynoir, and the coverup that followed, she continued. I’m a possibility. Just as I’m a woman who is educated and aware that the law will guide and protect me, I just happen to be one. At this time, I won’t go into more detail about this. The Charity Commission “made itself known of concerns,” The Mirror reported.

Harry’s dedication to the project has remained unwavering despite the charity’s ongoing internal rumors. The 2006-founded charity assists young people in poverty and provides assistance to children who are affected by HIV and AIDS. Harry returned to South Africa in five years last month to Lethoso. He and Prince Seeiso reconnected there while he was there.

Meghan and Harry’s wife joined in a show of support at a separate Senteale event a few months earlier. The couple and the couple took part in a yearly Sentable charity polo game last April in Miami, Florida, where the duke led the winning team. The couple put on their PDAs during the ceremony and exchanged a passionate kiss. The Duchess also had an awkward encounter with the charity’s chairwoman that raised questions that day.

Meghan allegedly asked Dr. Chandauka not to pose next to Harry during the celebration of his victory during footage from the match. After handing her husband a trophy, the Duchess was seen giving speeches on stage. Additionally, Meghan twice asked Dr. Chandauka, who was standing on Harry’s right, to turn her left and keep his arm firmly tucked inside the Duchess.

By repeatedly waving her hands to the opposite side of the stage, Meghan awkwardly signaled Dr. Chandauka’s movement. The charity chairwoman had to crouch under the trophy to get in the spot Meghan asked her to be in because other performers on stage made up enough room. Then, Dr. Chandauka addressed her in an unaudible voice in the video.

Prince Harry’s statement on Tuesday was leaked, and Sentebale responded by saying that the royal patrons had not resigned and that the board’s restructuring was “part of Sentebale’s ambitious transformation agenda.”

Anthea Turner’s sister strips off for topless photoshoot after devastating loss

Wendy Turner, a TV presenter, stepped down from a charity event to pay tribute to her best friend, who was “stolen” from her life. The actress has been briefed on the project.

Wendy Turner was unafraid to take part in a half-naked photography exhibition for the Pink Ribbon Foundation in her friend’s memory.

Having spent the best part of the last 30 years as a TV presenter, Wendy Turner-Webster is no stranger to posing for pictures, but being asked to take part in her first topless photoshoot was something of a first. However, stripping off for BUSTOUT 100, a special photographic tribute to breast cancer awareness featuring the striking images of 100 bare chests, was important enough to persuade her to strip off.

“I’ve never been asked to do anything like this before, but I thought – if other people have been brave and got their breasts out, then so will I,” she says. “When I was younger, I did a lot of theatre and panto. You get used to sharing a dressing room with someone else and stripping off or getting changed in the wings,” she explains. “It didn’t faze me then and it doesn’t faze me now.

However, Wendy’s decision to participate is tempered by the seriousness of the joke. She is doing it in memory of her best friend Shirley Galligan, who passed away four years ago, at the age of 55, in the wake of a breast cancer diagnosis. I wanted to show my support for such a significant event in my life. Not a day does it pass since my best friend’s best friend was taken from me because of breast cancer, she claims.

Wendy and Shirley met 30 years ago. Wendy, who appeared on TV in the ‘90s presenting Absolutely Animals and Pet Rescue, is a passionate campaigner for animal rights and Shirley worked for the Born Free Foundation. “We met on a train and clicked straightaway and became the best of friends,” Wendy recalls.

“We were always meeting up and going a bit wild, as neither of us had any responsibilities. So, we’d go shopping, go to parties and drink cocktails and we once even went off to Paris on a whim. We shared a passion for animals, but we had the same sense of humour and would laugh until our bodies ached.”

Wendy Turner was unafraid to take part in a half-naked photography exhibition for the Pink Ribbon Foundation in her friend’s memory.

When Wendy married actor Gary Webster, Shirley was a bridesmaid and when the couple had sons Jack, 25 and Freddie, 22, Shirley was their godmother. But six years ago, Shirley found a lump in her breast. To both her and Wendy’s relief, after a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, she was given the all-clear.

“Then four years ago I received a call from her,” Wendy says. “She told me not to be sad and not to cry, because she was going to need all my strength to help her fight, but her cancer had come back and spread to her liver, bones and lungs. I kept it together on the phone, but of course I was sobbing after the call. I was so shocked. I offered her any of my organs, but it was too late for that; her cancer was at stage 4. When we met up, I barely recognised her. She’d lost weight and she looked grey. I was so shocked.”

Wendy, sister of former Blue Peter and GMTV presenter Anthea Turner, did all she could, taking her friend to chemotherapy sessions and oncology appointments. Shirley seemed to turn a corner and the two friends even enjoyed a weekend away in Windsor to celebrate. Then a few months later came the devastating news that the cancer had now spread to Shirley’s brain. She was admitted to a hospice and Wendy, who lives in west London, was frequently at her bedside.

“She didn’t realise where she was and she thought she was staying at a five star hotel, which I was grateful for, because it softened the blow for her,” Wendy remembers. “We were always making plans and even when she was in the hospice and dying, we were still talking about visiting Kenya and seeing the wild animals. I would hold her hand and go along with the plans, but inside, my heart was breaking into a million pieces.”

BUSTOUT 100 features 99 women and one man, to symbolise the one per cent of breast cancer cases that occur in men. The participants are a mixture of survivors, those currently undergoing treatment and supporters like Wendy. The project aims to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Pink Ribbon Foundation, which supports UK charities helping people affected by breast cancer.

Shirley, according to Wendy, would have been “tickled pink.” Given that she was the Pink Ribbon Foundation’s PR director and knew the value of publicity, she would have thought it was a great idea. She would have been impressed by the bravery of those participating, but I am sure she would have found it hilarious that I was also doing it. She also had a great sense of humor. In any circumstance, Shirley would discover a laugh.

Rebecca Romijn and Alan Cumming to reprise X-Men roles for Avengers: Doomsday

The upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” cast includes several of the original X-Men as well as some of the biggest stars in cinema, according to a press release on Wednesday.

As Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, and Loki’s Tom Hiddleston’s Loki reunite for the Avengers team, Marvel’s star-studded lineup will once again amaze fans. Some of the original X-Men from earlier movies, including Rebecca Romijin, will play them there as well.

Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday,” a series of social media videos that were tantalizingly released on Wednesday, will feature the quartet of Marvel Cinematic Universe stalwarts.

Patrick Stewart, 84, reprising his role in the early 2000s “X-Men” movies as Professor X, and Ian McKellen, 85, who is back as the formidable Magneto, are also stars. Disney and Marvel make the most of Fox’s acquisition of its film assets, which is a casting coup.

Kelsey Grammer was cast as Hank “Beast” McCoy, along with Rebecca Romijn’s “Mystique” Romijn, James “Cyclops” Marsden, and Alan “Nightcrawler” Cumming. In the 2010 reboot of the “X-Men” series, these characters were voiced by younger actors, and their return is likely to stoke heated debate about potential plotlines and timelines for “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Fresher faces, including some who are on the verge of making their first appearance in the MCU, will also be present alongside the seasoned superheroes. In addition to her role in the star-studded “Avengers: Doomsday,” Vanessa Kirby has confirmed her role as the Invisible Woman Sue Storm in the upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps” from the upcoming July release “Fantastic Four: First Steps.”

Alan Cumming will also reprise his role as Nightcrawler

Reed Richards’ shoes will be met by Pedro Pascal, who will team up with the Avengers. Ebon Moss-Bachrach will take on the role of Ben Grimm, or the Thing, while Joseph Quinn stars as Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch, who will join them in both cinematic adventures.

Tenoch Huerta Meja, best known for his portrayal of Namor in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” joins this formidable lineup alongside Simu Liu, who stunned audiences in 2021’s “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” The “Black Panther” saga co-star Winston Duke will also make a comeback, with Letitia Wright taking over the role of Shuri.

Florence Pugh will reprise her role in “Doomsday,” where she reprised Yelena Belova from the MCU in the eagerly awaited “Thunderbolts.”

Additionally, Sir Ian McKellen will be coming back.
Additionally, Sir Ian McKellen will be coming back.

Both of the blockbusters feature actors besides David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, and Lewis Pullman. In addition to the dynamic ensemble cast, Dani Ramirez is thrust into action as the new Falcon.

While the roster boasts 27 names, some of the biggest prospects were noticeably absent. Marvel and Disney might be holding back the big reveals, as there was no word on Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine or Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.

Fans did, however, get a tease from Channing Tatum, who was most recently portrayed as Gambit from the X-Men in “Deadpool &amp, Wolverine.” There was a noticeable absence of the name Tom Holland. Due to Sony’s complex relationship with Marvel, Spider-Man’s portrayal of him, who had previously collaborated with the Avengers, has become a contentious issue.

Robert Downey Jr. excited fans last summer by announcing his return to the MCU as the villain Doctor Doom in the upcoming “Avengers” saga. The next instalment, “Avengers: Doomsday,” is slated for a May 2026 release and will be the fifth film in the “Avengers” series, marking the first since “Avengers Endgame” in 2019, which became one of the highest-grossing films ever.

Since then, Marvel has been working hard to regain its cultural standing and fortune, putting its hopes on the new ensemble films to reclaim its illustrious cinematic dominance.
