It’s been a tumultuous few years for the Royal Family – illness, death, and rifts have all taken centre stage in discussions about them for a long time. The biggest of all has been the animosity between Prince Harry and the rest of his family – so we want to know, do you think Harry and the Royal Family will ever heal their rift?

Since announcing that they would ‘step back from Royal duties’ in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made it very clear that a rift between them and the rest of the Royal Family – known as The Firm – has been ever-growing and ever-present.

After making this announcement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the UK and have been making various attempts to create their own brand separate from the rest of the Royals.

Through various interviews, podcast, charitable projects, and most recently Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand and Netflix show, Harry and Meghan have tried over and over again to make a name for themselves apart from the Royal family, while at times being criticised for still holding onto their royal titles despite stepping back.

The most recent part of the Harry-Firm rift saga involves Prince Harry’s ongoing court case about the security he expects while in the UK.

This court case involved Prince Harry attempting to reverse the decision to have security downgraded since he stepped back from being an ‘active’ royal. Harry has on many occasions expressed his safety concerns about his family, and has made it clear that this is the reason why he does not travel to the UK with his wife and two children on the occasions he does travel here.

Last week, the Prince was yet again not granted his request for armed police protection, which is given to his father King Charles and wife Queen Camilla, as well as to Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales.

Not long after the Court of Appeal gave their judgment that Prince Harry would not be granted taxpayer-funded, armed police protection when visiting the UK, he gave a 30-minute interview with the BBC which reportedly angered many members of his family.

During this interview, Prince Harry described the judgment as ‘devastating’, and said that his father King Charles ‘refuses to speak with him’. He also added that he ‘doesn’t know how much longer’ the King has [to live].

He explained: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things. But you know, I would love reconciliation with my family. I’ve always, there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

The Prince added that ‘it would be nice to reconcile’, because ‘life is precious’.

Meghan Markle showed her support for her husband by posting a family photo just a few hours after Prince Harry’s interview last Friday on her Instagram account. The black and white picture shows Prince Harry and his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in the garden of their California home.

After the bombshell interview, Buckingham Palace responded, saying they had ‘repeatedly and meticulously’ examined issues with Prince Harry’s security arrangements.

They said: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”

During the BBC interview, Prince Harry told the BBC that he hadn’t asked his father, King Charles, to intervene in the decision, saying he had instead asked him to “step out”.

As for other reactions to the interview, Royal sources have said that as well as the King, Prince William has ‘no incentive’ to speak to Harry, citing ‘a major trust issue’.

In March, Lily opened up about the split for the first time during a live recording of her podcast at the Hackney Empire in London, telling the crowd: “I am not over it. I am sort of running away. Maybe I will have a nervous breakdown.” Following their split, it was also claimed their relationship broke down due to him ” cheating” on the songstress with a costume designer he met on a film set.

Following her party, Lily thanked her friends in a post shared on Instagram. Along with a picture of a cake, she said: “Thank you to all my beauty friends and family who showed up for me and made my birthday a special one under some tricky circumstances. Love you all.”

David recently talked about his personal life in a new chat. . The New York native revealed that recently, he had let himself go “physically and emotionally.”

It came just hours after he confirmed their split after ditching his wedding ring on the red carpet at the premiere for the Marvel movie, Thunderbolts.

David said: “I can go to these dark places.” He also found solace in Buddhist monks he first met when he went through a rough period in his thirties, and still goes to see them every couple of years. “You just talk about life,” he said of his time at the monastery in Escondido, California.

However, he hasn’t been to the monastery in the past few years as “things have been busy” for him. When prompted directly about his split from Lily, David gave a two-word response. “Oh boy,” he commented. But he later opened up about his reasoning for remaining silent.

“I’m protective of the people and the reality of my life,” he said. He added to GQ Magazine that he didn’t see the point in engaging with the interest surrounding the split as it had been based on “hysterical hyperbole.”

King Charles sends ‘timely message’ to Prince Harry with Palace balcony ‘power move’

King Charles and the rest of the Royal Family marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a spectacular flypast – and one expert believes it sent a subtle message to Prince Harry

King Charles and the rest of the Royal Family send a message to Prince Harry during their major balcony appearance at VE Day commemorations, according to an expert. Senior royals waved to thousands of people from the Buckingham Palace balcony as a Red Arrows flypast continued the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.

The King and Queen, joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, watched on with tilted heads as the VE Day flypast soared over. The commemorations come just days after Harry told the BBC his father will not speak to him and he does not know how much longer the King has left.

However the King and Queen were said to be “looking forward” to the week’s events, and it is understood that, out of respect for the surviving veterans, Buckingham Palace hopes “nothing will detract or distract from celebrating with full cheer and proud hearts that precious victory and those brave souls, on this most special and poignant of anniversaries”.

And according to body language expert Judi James, the balcony appearance symbolised the royals’ resilience. She told the Mirror: “Royal balcony moments always show the Firm at their highest status best, standing in a position of ultimate power as a strong family unit while looking down on the massed crowds of their subjects, all cheering wildly to show their support.

So, the symbolism of this appearance could hardly have been more timely given the latest verbal pelting to have come from Montecito. This confident, stoic appearance suggested high levels of the kind of resilience that the Royal Family are always known for.”

Meanwhile, Judi also noted several subtle gestures that behind the scenes, the Firm is looking out for each other, especially when it comes to siblings. She noted: “During one moment on the balcony Princess Anne, who had been chatting to her brother in a strong display of unity during the fly-past, seemed to notice that Charles was waving to go indoors before the anthem had been played.

“Placing a hand out to pat him affectionately on the back, she seemed to warn him so he could turn and get into position. It was a gesture that suggested Anne is quietly keeping an eye on her brother.

“Another sibling who was surprisingly keep an eye on their brother at the other end of the balcony was, surprisingly, Louis. When the anthem was played, he stood to attention like his sister, but he suddenly turned to check out his older brother George behind him.

“George was caught with his hands still clasped in front of his body and, in a complete turn-around, it was the normally playful Louis who seemed to quickly correct him before turning back. George, 11, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, seven, were last seen together in public at the Christmas Day church service on the Sandringham Estate.

Louis, who during past public appearances has stolen the show, did not disappoint royal fans and was seen at one moment sticking out his tongue – a trademark gesture for the young royal. He also held William’s gold aiguillettes, the braided loops hanging from the shoulder of his RAF uniform, and appeared to touch his father’s shoulder again, and also held out his hands palms up as if he was testing for rain, which later fell.

The 2025 Met Gala will be held by who?

This year’s fundraising gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is being hosted by a cohort of Black male celebrities, including musical artist and Louis Vuitton menswear director Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton, Colman Domingo, and A$AP Rocky, with NBA legend LeBron James serving as honorary chair. They’re accompanied by Vogue’s Anna Wintour, the brains behind the gala, which is regarded as the most glamorous and star-studded event of the year.

A second tier of hosts from different disciplines is expected to attend, including actors Doechii, Usher, Tyla, Janelle Monáe, and André 3000, playwrights Jeremy O. Harris and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, and fashion icons Grace Wales Bonner, Edward Enninful, Dapper Dan, and Olivier Rousteing.

The Costume Institute’s curation budget is primary focus for the museum’s annual gala.

Dress code for this year is strict.

Consider this a strong recommendation, courtesy of Anna Wintour. The theme of tailoring and suiting this year is based on the annual spring exhibition’s inspiration, which looks at Black dandyism throughout the Atlantic diaspora.

With Miller serving as the guest curator for “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity,” the show has a lot of influence.

According to Miller, “Whether a dandy is subtle or spectacular, the self-conscious display, the reach for tailored perfection, and the occasionally subversive self-expression,” the exhibition catalog explores the historical expressions of dandyism, highlighting their range from meticulous tailoring to extravagant flair.

One can assume that the dress code will remain within certain parameters given Wintour’s influence, but individual taste and creativity have yet to be tested on it. She recently clarified on “Good Morning America” that she doesn’t approve of all appearances but will defend a rumor that has been rife.

The exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” is divided into 12 sections, each incorporating various sources besides Miller’s book. Each embodies a particular dandy style, as Zora Neale Hurston’s 1934 essay, “Characteristics of Negro Expression” lacked.

The gala’s theme includes a variety of ideas, including ownership, presence, distinction, disguise, freedom, respectability, and heritage. These elements are anticipated to be displayed on the museum steps, which double as the event’s red carpet, for those who want to explore the details (or have their stylists do the homework).

Who will be appearing this year?

Around 450 names from various sectors such as technology, sports, arts, entertainment and beyond makeup the exclusive guest list. Williams emphasises the diversity of this assembly.

He spoke to Vogue and said it was crucial for him to have successful Black and brown people from all walks of life: “Not just athletes, actors, actors, entertainers, but also authors, architects, people from the fintech world,” Williams said. We must make an investment in one another. We need to communicate because everyone will need to unite the strength of Black and brown genius into a single, trustworthy force.

Love Island star Tyrique Hyde appeared to share his true thoughts on his ex Ella Thomas moving on with a footballer. The reality TV stars came third on the tenth series of the hit ITV2 dating show, yet things weren’t ever steady.

They had an on and off romance but later fizzled out once and for all. However, Tyrique appears to be keeping tabs on his ex as Ella debuted her new romance.

She had been linked with Charlton Athletic footballer Lloyd Jones and they finally went public over the weekend. Lloyd made their romance Instagram official as he shared a snap of Ella supporting him as he accepted his club’s Player of the Season award.

However, shortly after Lloyd’s post Tyrique shared a cryptic post on his own account. He posted a throwback snap of himself on Love Island as he smiled while talking to the camera.

In 2023, Ella and Tyrique won numerous fans’ delights when they completed the show as a couple. As they split up in November, their romance experienced a bumpy patch, but they eventually reconciled.

However, the relationship ended when the pair ended their romance in February 2024. After the split, a source said, “Ultimately, they want different things, and it’s too difficult to make it work.” They claim that this is over for the moment and that there is no turning back.

Ella herself made a quick comment regarding the ending of the romance. She responded to a fan’s question online, “Just to clear things up, we’re not together…

“We weren’t talking about it while we were sorting it out and dealing with it privately,” he said. We both agree that it is best for him, and we wish him the best. Love at first sight. Thank you to everyone who has stepped up for us both collectively and personally.

After Ella had spoken out in front of a crowd, Tyrique then criticized him for keeping quiet about the split. The reality TV host wrote, “Tf you want me to say?” I’m living my life now.

Don’t feel like I have to, just because people on Love Island typically make statements. That’s not my area. Thank you to all of my loving followers. LATAA”.

Just last month, revealed how he looks back on his romance to OK! Magazine. He said: “Ella’s a lovely person – there’s no bad blood. She taught me a lot about myself and relationships, especially when it comes to emotional intelligence.

She’ll always be so kind to me for that. It’s crazy to leave Love Island because your entire life changes over the course of a year. We both struggled to identify ourselves outside of the villa and make sense of that new world.

The timing just wasn’t right, according to the couple, who were so concerned about each other. We gave it a good chance, which is a big sign that we are still at our cool now.

Prince Louis leaves fans in stitches teasing George with hair flick at VE Day parade

As royal fans watched the military parade, Prince Louis made a blink-and-you’ll miss it moment as he appeared to gently mock his older brother Prince George.

Prince Louis has left royal fans in stitches after appearing to tease his older brother Prince George at VE Day commemorations. The Prince and Princess of Wales’s children made a rare public appearance as they joined the King, Queen and veterans to watch a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe at Buckingham Palace.

The royals sat among veterans watching the parade, with the children shaking their hands and listening to their stories. And in one sweet moment, Louis, aged seven, brushed lint from dad William’s RAF uniform jacket, as the Prince of Wales explained the parade to his youngest son.

However, Louis was caught in another incident as George was removing his face’s hair. And Louis, age 7, appeared to flick his own hair out of his face and ribbing his older brother in a cheeky move.

The royals were applauded as they took their seats as the audience arrived. One veteran shook his friend’s hand as he took his seat. Kate was the last to greet the serviceman as she sat next to him, with his children following his example. Later, he made an appearance and showed her some photos, which she took.

As the King assisted in blanketing veteran Joy Trew up after the royals had taken their seats, many people began to put up umbrellas as a result of the light drizzle.

The royal family is scheduled to attend engagements over the next four days, less than a week after the Duke of Sussex told the BBC his father would not speak to him and he did not know how much longer the King had left.

However, the King and Queen “looking forward” to the week’s events, and it is understood that Buckingham Palace hopes that “nothing will detract from celebrating with full joy and proud hearts that precious victory and those brave souls, on this most special and poignant of anniversaries,” out of respect for the surviving veterans.

The King wore naval uniform number X in a manner similar to that of his grandfather, King George VI. On VE Day, 1945, the monarch wore a simple dress with no decorations or medals, similar to the monarch. Camilla wore the 12th Royal Lancers Brooch, Her Majesty’s late father’s regiment, with a sapphire blue, crepe dress and coat by Fiona Clare.

Princess Anne wore the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps) uniform without any decorations, just like her mother did on the balcony of Buckingham Palace in 1945, a sweet nod to the late Queen.

During VE Day, large crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace to view King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, and Elizabeth and Margaret as well.

The royal family is scheduled to participate in engagements over the next four days, as they hope “nothing will detract or distract” from the commemorations following Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with the BBC. He told the broadcaster his father would not speak to him, and he did not know how much longer the King had left.

On Monday morning, people started gathered at The Mall, with some arriving the day before for a good viewing spot. In other locations, street parties are planned for cities and towns throughout the UK.

Sir Keir Starmer said the week’s events are a reminder that victory was “not just for Britain” as personnel from the US, France and Germany will be among those joining the military procession in London on Monday. In an open letter to veterans, he said: “VE Day is a chance to acknowledge, again, that our debt to those who achieved it can never fully be repaid.”
