Zara shoppers love a “gorgeous” and “classy” black dress that resembles a pricier alternative. Customers fell for the £69.99 Halter Ruffle Long Dress when it was showcased on TikTok by @thescousestylists. Fashion fans Georgina and Jess regularly share style tips on their popular account, devoting a recent video to the Zara style.

In the clip, the TiKTokers said: “I just love this. I think if you’ve got a special event coming up, it’s gorgeous.” They praised the “fab” dipped hem, suggesting “it would be lovely on holiday” or for a special occasion.

The pair thought the dress would look stunning with gold accessories. “I just love all the ruffles on it,” they said. They added that it would look “very nice” with a tan. Reacting to the video, someone praised: “That’s a gorgeous dress!”

Another commenter said: “Classy!!” Meanwhile, a shopper said the style reminded them of another brand’s dresses. The comment read: “They’ve similar allsaints over £230!” While it wasn’t clear which style the shopper meant, they could have been referencing AllSaints’ £279 Sienna Ruffled Maxi Dress.

While there are differences between the dresses, there are arguably many similarities. Both black maxi dresses have a similar silhouette, with a high-low skirt and ruffle detailing.

You could likely wear either dress to the same event with the same styling choices. In the product images, both brands modelled their dresses with matching black shoes, though Zara opted for wedge sandals while AllSaints opted for black cowboy boots.

However, it’s worth noting that the Zara dress has a halter neck shape. In contrast, the pricier style has an asymmetrical design with an off-the-shoulder sleeve.

There are also differences between the materials used. Zara’s product description says: “Halter neck long dress with buttons. Ruffle detail. Inner lining. Asymmetric hem. Side zip fastening concealed in the seam.” Both the lining and the outer shell are 100% polyester.

Meanwhile, AllSaints’ product description reads: “We’ve got a thing for ruffles this season. Our statement Sienna Dress is full of volume and layered with five heavily ruffled tiers that create a high-low hem.

“A bit of drama, but always playful – we love this dress for all seasons.” The lining is 100% recycled polyester, while the shell is 74% lyocell and 26% polyamide.

AllSaints also offers a Nat Ruffled High Low Maxi Dress, which has a high-low skirt but presents a different look thanks to its long sleeves, on sale for £167 from £279. There’s also a £229 Cavarly Tiered Ruffle Maxi Dress with a scooped neckline and high-low detailing.

Zara does offer a selection of ruffle dresses, but they don’t share the high-low feature. For instance, there’s a £99.99 Long Ruffled Dress – ZW Collection and a 39.99 Metallic Thread Midi Camisole Dress, which offer a different take on the maxi dress style.

Liam Payne update as two men charged over star’s death will stand trial

Two men accused of supplying former One Direction star Liam Payne with cocaine shortly before his tragic death will face trial it has been confirmed. Prosecutors have revealed Waiter Braian Nahuel Paiz and ex-hotel worker Ezequiel David Pereyra will stand trial for their alleged part in the singer’s death last October.

They have been behind bars since January after being charged in connection to Liam’s death at a Buenos Aires hotel. The pair face up to 15 years in prison if convicted of drugs offences.

Prosecutors also revealed Liam had taken cocaine in his CasaSur Palermo Hotel and and consumed it “up to a few minutes before his death”.

Liam Payne fell to his death at a Buenos Aires hotel

In a lengthy statement, Argentina’s public prosecution service said: “At the request of the head of the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14, Andres Esteban Madrea, the two defendants remanded in custody as part of the court investigation into the circumstances surrounding Liam James Payne’s death, will go on trial accused of the crime of selling drugs.

“They are Braian Nahuel Paiz, 25, who met Payne while working as a waiter in a restaurant in Puerto Madero, and Ezequiel David Pereyra, 24, who was an employee at the Hotel CasaSur Palermo where the former One Direction member died eight months ago after falling from the balcony of room 310, in a proven state of intoxication with cocaine, alcohol and psychotropic drugs.”

The statement continued: “The autopsy showed Liam’s death was caused by polytrauma and internal and external haemorrhaging and it was also determined he had ethyl alcohol in a concentration of up to 2.7 grams per litre as well as cocaine, methylecgonine, benzoylecgonine, cocaethylene and sertraline.

“The forensic medical specialists who performed the autopsy indicated toxicology results showed the dead man consumed cocaine via his nose as well as inhaling it by smoking the drug. Consumption took place at least 72 hours prior to his death and up to a few minutes before his death.”

The alleged drug dealers are the only two suspects who will end up on the stand, with three other men initially charged over Liam’s death being told in February the case against them had been dropped.

No date has yet been set for the Paiz and Pereyra trial although it is expected to kick off shortly.

Liam’s death stunned the world on October 16, 2024. Liam fell from the third floor of a hotel building in the Argentinian capital.

Police, firefighters and ambulances were seen outside of a hotel building after Liam tragically fell. In a statement in the moments after his death, the local ambulance manager told TN: “At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.

“At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation.”

“I have used this product for over 10 days and I can notice my skin is improved,” one person wrote. “My skin can get dry, blemished or irritated depending on the weather or hormones. After starting using this product morning and evening I noticed my skin is better hydrated, softer and smoother. My skin tone is improved, no more dull skin. Redness and irritation areas are better than before. This product is light, not sticky and not heavy, my skin absorbs it easily. Definitely recommend it.”

“I struggle a lot with combined skin so it can go from dry to oily, this product has been a game changer,” another agreed. “It’s helped with my uneven skin tone in just a few days. It’s light on the skin and melts in, you only need a small amount of product. My redness on my face has also gone down. And it gives me moisture but doesn’t make my face oily. It’s great for sensitive skin as doesn’t make your skin sore or sting.”

“When it says it strengthens the skin in just four hours – it actually does,” one person wrote. “My skin would usually feel very tight and stripped after washing but after using this it instantly helped my skin feel hydrated and silky! The only thing to improve would be the texture as it dries up really quickly. But overall – LOVE it!”

Loose Women star reveals she left show after husband begged “please could you stop”

After starring as a panellist on Loose Women for four years, the singer said her husband begged her to quit

A former Loose Women panellist has spilled the beans on why she left the hit ITV show, revealing her husband’s plea for her to step down.

Celebrated opera singer Lesley Garrett, who has serenaded royalty including King Charles and the late Queen during her impressive 45-year career, is also known for her stints on television favourites like Strictly Come Dancing and Loose Women.

After sharing her views on the daytime talk show for four years, Lesley has now disclosed that it was her husband, Peter Christian, a GP by profession, who influenced her decision to leave.

“[It’s] the only time he’s ever asked me to stop doing something,” she told the Daily Mail.

“He said, ‘At the surgery I’ve got ten minutes with each patient. And eight minutes is taken up with what you’ve said the day before. I’m worried I’m going to misdiagnose somebody, so please could you stop?'”

It is not the first time Lesley expressed her family’s fears about her time on the topical programme. In 2011, she said her parents asked her to “give it a rest” for a while.

“My mum and dad said, ‘Do you think you could just give it a rest for a bit because we can’t go down the shops at the moment without somebody saying, ‘What have you been up to?'”

Despite the pressure, Lesley admitted, “But I enjoy it so much on the show. It’s the best fun you can ever have.”

Now at 70, Lesley is gearing up for her summer concert, leaving fans to wonder if this performance might be the last chance for fans to see her.

Speaking to the Sunday Express, Lesley hinted at hanging up her microphone soon to enjoy a quieter life with her partner in the south of France.

On the topic of retirement, she remarked: “I do think about retiring, because I don’t want to go on when I’m not as good as I was.”

Lesley said: “I want to quit while I’m ahead. I don’t want to carry on past my sell-by date. My voice is changing, as voices do. It’s still beautiful in the middle, but I can’t get as high as I used to.”

She explained: “Every season I think could be my last. This one I seriously think could be my last year, because I am 70 and it seems like a very round number – I’ve been doing this for exactly 45 years.”

If Lesley decides to retire, she acknowledges that members of the Royal Family might miss her performances.

Reflecting on Royal engagements, the South Yorkshire-born vocalist shared: “I have sung for King Charles and met him several times. I sang for both the King and Queen recently.

Victoria Beckham has taken to Instagram to share an adorable message from her husband David amid a devastating time for the pair. It comes after the couple’s eldest son has been locked in a bitter feud with his family allegedly over wife Nicola Peltz.

David and Victoria have put on a brave face throughout the ordeal, having attended a number of events including David Beckham’s lavish 50th birthday party last month. Despite the arrival of a number of A-Listers, his eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola were nowhere to be seen. They also failed to acknowledge the star’s big day on social media.

Now, Victoria has shared an adorable message from her husband, telling her 32.9 million Instagram followers that he “really does look after me.”

Taking to her Instagram story on Thursday morning, the former Spice Girl, 51, posted a picture of her Victoria Beckham Beauty tumbler cup with a pink post-it note stuck on. The message, from David, read: “I Love u… Drink for energy focus + Gut xxx”. The star had also drawn a heart on the note.

The sweet message comes after it was reported that Brooklyn Beckham’s feud with his parents had notched up a devastating gear. Reports suggest he wanted no contact with them and is allegedly ignoring their messages.

Last week, it was announced that the former Manchester United player would be receiving a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours list after years of ‘being snubbed’. However, he reportedly didn’t tell Brooklyn about the achievement, with him reportedly finding out through the media.

Sources close to the 26-year-old told Page Six that he was thrilled his dad was finally receiving the honour. However, another source close to Brooklyn told the publication: “Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he’s not responding to those that try to connect.”

Yet a separate Brooklyn source denied the claim, saying: “This seems to be another deliberate attempt to misrepresent the truth, and it only serves to distract from this honor being bestowed on Brooklyn’s father.”

The Mirror has reached out to Brooklyn and Victoria and David’s reps for comment.

Last year, the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary by re-wearing their iconic purple outfits, which sent fans into a frenzy in 1999. Fans have been following the couple since 1997, who have never been afraid to show their love towards one another.

They can expect to see even more adorable moments from the couple in Victoria’s upcoming Netflix docuseries, which will follow her day to day as the creative director of her fashion and beauty brands.

Speaking on David’s involvement in the series to Bloomberg, Posh Spice said: “Well, he might end up on the cutting-room floor. I mean, who knows?”
