Wes Nelson reveals huge dream collaboration after link-up with icon Craig David

Wes Nelson has already linked up with huge names in music, including Craig David, as he continues to make waves in the industry and he has big dreams for the future

Wes Nelson has had hit tunes with Craig David

Wes Nelson has revealed he has big dreams as he continues to make waves in the music industry. The former Love Island star, 27, has already collaborated with huge names, including Clean Bandit, French Montana and his icon Craig David, who featured on the banger, Abracadabra.

But he has his eyes firmly set on an artist over the pond for a future dream link-up. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, he admitted he would love to work with Justin Bieber.

Wes told us: “He hasn’t released a lot of songs in recent years,” before joking: “I know he’s working on other bits, but if he hears this, it’s little Wes Nelson a bloke from Stoke – give me a shout!”

However, he admits he is still in dreamland with his connection to the Seven Days singer. “The Craig one [collaboration] was obviously extra special,” he said.

Explaining further how the pairing happened after he was performing in Ibiza, Wes said: “We sort of got talking about getting in and doing a track, and I had a sort of a bit of a track in mind that I already had pre written.

And then we came in and Craig, “Craigified” it, and we made it. The Abracadabra one was really special to me, because Craig’s just such an idol. And it obviously it was a collaboration, but at the same time, it did feel like the start of a friendship. So I think there’s two wins in everything.”

And he joked at being in awe of Craig’s preparation for any gigs. “He’s been doing it since he was 16,” Wes said. “We literally performed a couple of days ago. He sounds just as incredible if not better than he did when he first started.

“The guy coughs a little bit and clears his throat. That’s his warm up, and he’s ready to go. I just don’t understand how he does it. But obviously it’s super inspirational and he’s one of the nicest people in the industry that I know, for sure.”

Ahead of his upcoming summer shows and Ibiza gigs, Wes has linked up with Lipton Ice Tea Kombucha, creating a catchy track titled Kombucha-cha. He is set to perform at Battersea Power Station on Friday, June 13 and has promised those in attendance a “hell of a performance”, saying the set looks “insane”.

As well as Wes’ performance on the day, fellow Love Island alum Curtis Pritchard will be offering free dance lessons at the event.

As for the future, the Nice To Meet Ya singer says his main goal at his upcoming gigs and future releases is to “get people dancing”. “I don’t feel like we’re moving enough,” he confessed

“Everyone can dance. Whether you can dance good or not is completely up to opinion. I just want to get people moving, spread some positivity, and yeah, just bring people together.”

The Lipton Kombucha Ambassador added: “We all need a little more joy in our lives, and nothing makes you feel alive more than moving your feet.”

And in a fun reference to his new tune, he said: “Whether you’re dancing in your bedroom or out with your mates in the sunshine, let’s bring the fun back – one dance and one Kombucha-cha at a time!”

Dele Alli heartbreak as footballer splits from model after making comeback

Former Everton midfielder Dele Alli has split up from his partner Cindy Kimberly after three years together, with the model having confirmed their break-up this week

Footballer Dele Alli has split up from his partner Cindy Kimberly after three years together. The former Premier League player had been supported by the model earlier this year but it’s now been revealed that they have separated.

Dele, now 29, who currently plays for Serie A team Como 1907, and Cindy, now 26, went public with their romance in 2022. It’s now been announced by the model that she’s no longer in a relationship with the former Everton midfielder.

There had been speculation that they had split up after it was noticed that she wasn’t following Dele on Instagram. Cindy – who has modelled for magazines like Playboy – is also said to have removed photos of him from her page.

Dele however continues to follow her on the platform. Cindy also still features in some posts on his account, including on celebrating his signing with his current football team in January, following his two year absence from the pitch.

The outlet Glam Set & Match (GSM) speculated in a post yesterday that their relationship looked to be “headed for the rocks” after three years. Cindy reacted in the comments section, with her confirming that they have broken up.

She announced that herself and Dele haven’t been together “for a little while”. Addressing rumours about their romance, she wrote in the comments section of the post this morning: “We’ve been broken up for a little while already.”

Although she appears to have removed photos of Dele from her own page, Cindy has kept up a post of herself seemingly sat in the stands at one of his games in Como, Italy, in March. She had been spotted there with him at the time.

She’s since been seen supporting Dele’s team too. More recently, Cindy was seen in the crowd at a match between Como and Torino at Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium on April 13, just two months before the news of their break-up.

Dele – who played for Tottenham Hotspur and England earlier in his career – signed with Como in January. It was announced at the time that he was on an 18-month contract, but with an option to extend that for an additional 12 months.

Head Coach Cesc Fàbregas shared his thoughts on the signing: “The club believes in Dele’s potential and is committed to helping him rediscover his best form. His experience and leadership qualities will undoubtedly benefit the squad.”

The signing came after two year absence from the pitch for Dele, which came following an injury in 2023. It was suggested in February that there was no rush to get the footballer back playing competitive games in the season.

Dele, who’s spoken about challenges he’s faced in his life off the pitch, made his comeback in March but, as reported at the time, he was sent off after 10 minutes when he received a red card. He later posted on Instagram: “2 years! Not necessarily how I planned it, but we keep moving.” It’s been reported that he hasn’t made another appearance for the club since then.

Gilligan’s Island star Tina Louise made her first public appearance in three years this month during an outing in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The 91-year-old icon, who last attended the New York Film Festival in 2022, looked chic in a black leather jacket, classic blue jeans, and black sunglasses in pictures shared by E News.

The actor, who is best known for her role as Ginger Grant on the CBS sitcom, rocked her signature red hair and accessorised with two bags, black sneakers and a navy blue umbrella in snaps shared online. Tina is the only living main cast of Gilligan’s Island – which was a show about seven castaways trying to survive on an island where they were shipwrecked.

The series ran for three series between 1964 and 1967, with the first series being in black and white. Tina previously discussed being known for the show during an interview with The New York Times.

“I’m very grateful for all the things that have happened to me and the opportunities that I’ve had,” she admitted. I’d like to be known for other things.”

After co-star Dawn Wells died in 2020, Tina denied the long-time rumours that she resented the role of Ginger Grant by saying: “Never true – I loved doing my part, especially after they really started writing for my character, originally billed as a ‘Marilyn Monroe’ type of character.

“A different director took over and really started to write for my character. I really loved my character.” She also added she was grateful to the show’s loyal fans, especially during the coronavirus.

“We were part of the wonderful show that everyone loves and has been a great source of comfort, especially during these times. We brought a lot of joy to people and still do. This show is an escape from so many things going on. Fathers share it with their children now. I get letters all the time about that.”

Since Gilligan’s Island, she appeared in the likes of Love, American Style, Police Story, CHiPs, Rituals, and more. The star also took on roles in movies, such as The Good Guys and the Bad Guys, The Stepford Wives, Look What’s Happened to Rosemary’s Baby, and more.

She last appeared in a movie in 2019 for Tapestry and was last a guest star in 1999 for LA Heat. She has focused most of her attention on her daughter, Caprice Crane, as well as her grandkids.

“It’s amazing when you have a child, and I had so much fun—in view of the fact that I had such a strange childhood—so much fun raising her. Now, we have twins—a little boy and a little girl. They’re number one,” ” she said to Forbes.

Tina also worked as a learning leader in the public school system in New York City for the last 30 years.

The Golden Globe winner previously said: “When I walked into the classroom at a public school, I found it to be a very nourishing, important, emotional thing. The idea of helping a first and second grader to read was such a happy experience for me.”

King Charles assembles Hollywood and football royalty for star-studded awards

The King welcomed the likes of former England football captain David Beckham and Oscar winners Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep to St James’ Palace today

The King has been heralded as a “pioneer and a visionary” in his crusade to protect traditional crafts and the environment at an awards ceremony for his foundation. The monarch assembled an A-list cast of supporters to celebrate those at the forefront of sustainability, traditional heritage crafts and environmental education throughout the UK.

The King welcomed former England football captain, David Beckham, soon to be knighted as part of the King’s birthday honours, as well as other ambassadors and friends of his foundation including Oscar winners Kate Winslet and Meryl Streep alongside model and presenter Penny Lancaster and French TV chef Raymond Blanc.

Former Manchester United and England superstar Beckham, who became an ambassador for the foundation last year, bowed his head and greeted the King with “Your Majesty” as the monarch made his way down a line of supporters before the event at St James’s Palace today.

Charles, 76, stopped to talk to model Lancaster, married to rock star Rod Stewart, who told the King she had been keeping bees on their Scottish estate.

Winslet, described by royal aides as “a friend of the foundation” was overheard telling the King “don’t worry, I’ve got your back”. Royal sources suggested the British actor may bolster her role as a supporter of the charity in the future.

As Royal Founding President of the charity, The King was on hand to celebrate the foundation’s 35th anniversary at the event as well as recognising the incredible talent and work of the charity’s students, graduates and partners across sustainability, traditional heritage crafts and environmental education.

He met the winners to congratulate them on their awards after competing for the prize in eight individual categories alongside hundreds of other entrants. Other celebrity supporters at the event included tv presenters Sarah Beeny, Alan Titchmarsh and Stanley Tucci.

The foundation today revealed it has to date trained more than 115,000 students in traditional crafts and environmental education over its 35-year tenure, welcomed more than 2.5million visitors to its UK destinations, and positively affected more than 500,000 lives through sustainable urban planning.

King’s Foundation ambassador Penny Lancaster praised the monarch for his vision for creating the awards and highlighting the needs of the planet throughout his adult life.

She said: “We all know that the King has been the forefront and sort of marching us all along for more than 50 years, he’s been an absolute pioneer and visionary in that sense.

“These awards and indeed the foundation is so important because of the role they have in not only protecting these traditional crafts and the environment but also giving the winners such an incredible platform to go and achieve great things. “The King may have been accused of hugging trees and people thinking he was mad when he started talking about the environment all that time ago, but he was at the forefront then and now has been proved right with everything he said and now we’re all just trying to play catch up.

“I really recognise the beauty in the way he is trying to get us on board with his knowledge and if we can pass that on to the younger generation, and save some of the traditional skills like we’ve seen with these winners today, we can all be a part of making a difference.

“I think the mistake is when we say, well, there’s such a huge job ahead of us that we could give up, but where’s the hope about and confidence that we can pull together to not make it such a mammoth task, there is real hope for the future.”

The Emerging Talent award, presented to an individual who has shown exceptional talent and commitment while on a King’s Foundation programme, went to Emily Hurst.

Emily has recently completed the CHANEL and King’s Foundation Métiers d’Art Fellowship in Millinery, based at Highgrove Gardens. In her final year of university, she independently learned the heritage craft of straw braiding to produce historically accurate hats, a skill that has since become central to her practice.

“In my final year at university, I discovered the craft of straw making and fell in love with it. I found out it was an endangered craft and then my tutors put me in touch with the King’s foundation.

“Working at Highgrove was absolutely the best place to be, surrounded by so much inspiration from His Majesty’s garden andlearning from some of the best milliners with country, I’m so incredibly honoured.”

Winner of the Young Entrepreneur award went to Barnaby Horn for developing his own business after honing his traditional milliner skills also on the CHANEL and King’s Foundation Métiers d’Art Fellowship in Millinery, based at Highgrove Gardens.

Known for his exploration of gender through playing with familiar shapes and historic cultural references, in 2023 he launched his namesake label ‘Barnaby Horn’. Judges said Barnaby “has an experimental approach to millinery and is dedicated to developing a mastery in the traditions of the craft”.

He said: “After having lots of different jobs after university, including being a writer and working as a drag queen, I eventually went to the Royal College of Art to study millinery as a master’s.

“I realised that hats had potential to be artefacts of storytelling and I also wanted to be able to make work that was sculptural and tell stories while I was physically not in the room.

“There’s a lot of my work that is poetry, performance or something that involves dance, so I wanted to create work that could embody characters, and obviously the head is such a sensitive place, like a location of dreams and the continuation of storytelling that I love.”

The King’s Foundation is a charity founded by King Charles III and was first formed in 1990. His Majesty is Royal Founding President of the charity.

Inspired by the vision and values of His Majesty, the Foundation builds and supports communities where people, places and the planet can coexist in harmony.

The charity offers education courses for almost 15,000 students annually, health and wellbeing programmes for nearly 2,000 people every year, and spearheads placemaking and regeneration projects in the UK and overseas to revitalise communities and historic buildings.

The King’s Foundation is headquartered at its flagship regeneration project, Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland, and acts as custodian of other historic Royal sites including the Castle of Mey in Caithness, Scotland, and Highgrove Gardens in Gloucestershire.

The Foundation also carries out its work at educational and cultural hubs in London, based at The King’s Foundation School for Traditional Arts in Shoreditch, Trinity Buoy Wharf on the River Thames and the Garrison Chapel in Chelsea. In addition to its UK presence, the Foundation delivers programmes and projects in over a dozen sites worldwide.

Fern Britton reveals why she quit This Morning – but it’s not what people expect

Highly regarded television presenter Fern Britton has opened up on her decision to leave This Morning in 2009 after spending an impressive 16 years working on the ITV show

Fern Britton has discussed her decision to leave the popular ITV show This Morning in 2009, after years as a presenter on the programme.

The 67-year-old began her broadcasting career as a newsreader on local radio stations, gradually working her way up to become the BBC’s youngest national news presenter on Breakfast Time. She later took on various roles before joining GMTV as a presenter in 1993.

That same year, she started guest presenting on ITV’s This Morning, and by 1999, she had landed a permanent role on the show, co-presenting the Friday slot alongside John Leslie.

Her role on the show became even more regular in 2002, when she began presenting alongside Phillip Schofield.

However, seven years later, Fern decided to leave the programme, sparking rumours about the reasons behind her departure. There were widespread reports of a fallout with co-host Phillip, which he later commented on in his memoir, stating that their relationship “turned sour”.

Fern has also previously mentioned to Good Housekeeping that they are no longer friends, saying “we don’t really (speak anymore)”.

In a recent interview on the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, Fern sought to provide some clarity on the situation. Revealing the key reason for her decision to step away from the show, she said: “Well, it’s 17 years ago, it’s a long time. And I haven’t really thought about that for a long time. I had a fantastic 10 years and I loved it.”

She continued: “But then after a bit, I needed to be back home again, as lots of things were going on. But the boys were about to do their A Levels, going into the two years of that, and the girls as well were leaving little school to go up. I was needed at home, and they needed to come home and know there was chicken in the oven.”

Since her departure from the show in 2009, Fern has been a constant figure on television, participating in some of the nation’s favourite reality TV programmes, including a stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012 where she was the fifth star to be voted off.

Last year, Fern took part in ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother, where she reached the final, ultimately losing out to David Potts who took home the crown.

However, fans can look forward to her return to television in the near future with her very own series, Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s.
