Danny Jones’ biggest fear is ‘losing his career’ over Maura Higgins kiss

Danny Jones is reportedly fearing he could ‘ lose his career ‘ because of his kiss with Maura Higgins.

The McFly singer is married to Georgia Horsley, with the two tying the knot in 2014 and sharing a seven-year-old son named Cooper. However, at a recent BRIT Awards afterparty on March 1, he was filmed sharing a smooch with Love Island star and I’m A Celebrity campmate Maura Higgins.

Danny attended the awards ceremony with his McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher, but was the only member of his band in attendance at the glitzy afterparty Danny, Maura and Georgia have yet to publicly speak out about the incident, but a source from Danny’s camp said he has concerns that his long career could be coming to an end.

They said: “Earlier today, Georgia broke her silence by posting a picture of Cooper, their son. But I don’t think we can get too excited. We need to remember that in the past 2 weeks, 2 videos have emerged online of Danny and Maura spending the night of the BRITs together.

” Georgia is likely trying to resume some normality because she has other engagements that she has to fulfil. Danny has been too silent and I believe this is because he’s expecting it to pass and he can resume his career like normal. Danny has been more concerned to family and friends that his career is coming to an end, when he should be caring about his marriage to his wife and his son.

“It’s time for Danny to explain to his fans and audience what has happened and to own his mistakes”. Earlier today, Georgia broke her silence on the shock kiss by sharing a sweet black-and-white photo of the couple’s son. The mum, who is said to have been ‘ humiliated ‘ by Dannys ‘ actions added a simple blue heart as a dedication to her only child in the caption.

Georgia’s supportive followers were quick to rush to the comments to share their support. “Love you. what a lucky boy he is to have a mummy like you xxxxxx”, wrote one. While another added: “Hope you’re okay Georgia, you’ve got this”. Someone else added: “YES GIRL!!! Lovely to see Coops a post from you. You’ve got this”.

While another commented: “So nice to see you back posting. We’re all behind you and love you so much”. Earlier this week, Georgia was a no-show for her Monday podcast with Kelsey Parker as she pulled out of all work commitments after Danny’s kiss with Maura. Sources close to the mum told the Mirror she was at a loss at what to say publicly about the betrayal.

BBC presenter’s replacement revealed after unexpected quitting following 26 year stint

The BBC have made a huge announcement following the surprise exit of one of its radio presenters.

Mishal Husain unexpectedly left BBC 4 in December. Mishal was on of the Today programme’s main presenters but concluded her 26-year career with the organisation before the turn of the year.

Now, it’s been revealed she is being replaced by former Middle East correspondent Anna Foster. The former BBC Radio 5 Live and Radio 1’s Newsbeat presenter is stepping in to present a number of editions of the show from Salford. It marks the BBC’s efforts to represent more areas of the UK beyond London.

Mishal Husain left the BBC in December 2024 (BBC)

Anna said in a statement following the announcement: “There are few more exciting opportunities for a journalist than presenting Today, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team. I’ve always loved making important, agenda-setting, engaging radio, and there’s nowhere better to do that. It’s such a beloved programme to so many people, and I can’t wait to be a part of it”.

The BBC also said that Foster’s role in covering foreign news wouldn’t stop, with the company saying viewers will still see her on TV coverage of major stories. Speaking following the announcement, the station’s controller Mohit Bakaya said: “She brings important international reporting experience at a time when it is needed so urgently by listeners to Radio 4”.

Anna has been one of a number of people to have taking on a co-host role on Today in the weeks since Mishal’s exit. Simon Jack and Jonny Dymond have also stepped in, but it’s reported BBC wanted a female host to be Mishal’s replacement in order to maintain gender balance on the show. Currently, the show’s other presenters include Emma Barnett, Justin Webb, Amol Rajan and Nick Robinson.

Mishal had joined the Today programme in 2013. However, she left her role to take on a new position at Bloomberg. Joining her co-presenters Nick Robinson and Justin Webb, as well as former Today hosts Sarah Montague and John Humphrys, the journalist took to the airwaves for one last time for the BBC in December. In her segment, she shared a few sentimental remarks about her time with the news outlet. She then closed with a heartfelt song that she felt best captured her emotions on her final day.

“The moment is now upon me, time to say farewell to this programme and to the BBC”, she told listeners on her final show. “In my time here, I have found more in me than I knew was there, and I journey on to discover what might lie within me. In the tradition of my faith, when people used to go on pilgrimage in generations past, they would not only take their leave of friends and associates, but they would ask for their forgiveness because, in those days, many did not return from the arduous journey”.

She added: “I hope, therefore, you might forgive me for the times I crashed the pips, squeezed the weather, any other dastardly deeds, and yes, the 1810 that did involve swearing. But my heartfelt thanks go to all my BBC colleagues across the UK and around the world and to you, wherever you are listening from, for your time and your trust. On this last morning, I have been allowed music and I am going to leave you with my choice”. The Monkees ‘ Daydream Believer then began playing, with the star adding: “From me, good morning and goodbye”.

Courteney Cox’s Snow Patrol boyfriend rushed to hospital for surgery after nasty injury

A major UK rock star has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid is now racing to recover ahead of a busy festival season for the band. Lead singer Gary Lightbody confirmed that McDaid, who is dating Friends icon Courteney Cox injured his hand after getting it caught in a door. But the injuries didn’t stop there for McDaid.

The band had been playing two sold out shows in Belfast after two separate incidents involving Johnny but he continued to perform despite the pain. He sustained his latest injury ahead of their show last Thursday. “Johnny McDaid had hurt his hand at the start of the tour, we were going from Switzerland to Frankfurt on a train”, said Lightbody.

He went on to tell RTE: “We did the whole European tour on the train, it was really fun — except for this thing which happened, where Jonny got his hand caught in a door. And it wrecked his hand. He ended up getting surgery on his hand. Never missed a show.

” And then the Thursday night in Belfast, at midnight or so, he fell and wrecked his other hand — smashed his knuckles on his other hand. When we came in for soundcheck on Friday, he couldn’t move the fingers on his right hand. And he still played the show on Friday night. “

Gary said Johnny had undergone his surgery on Sunday, adding it was” insane””. He had two broken hands on Friday’s sow and he played the gig, “the singer commented”. Unbelievable — he’s made of different stuff from the rest of us, absolutely, “he said.

The operation comes six years after the band were forced to pull out of playing Glastonbury Festival due to Johnny requiring an operation on his neck. At the time, Gary told fans:” Our dear brother, piano and guitar player Johnny McDaid has a serious problem with his neck and after consulting with some top neurosurgeons they are all in agreement that the only course of action is immediate surgery.

“Johnny has been incredible in the wake of this news and has remained calm at a time when a lot of people might freak out”. The health scare comes ahead of a hectic schedule for the band who are due to play dozens of shows across the UK this summer, with their first being in Cardiff on June 12, before heading to the likes of Plymouth, Delamere, Cannock Chase and Scarborough.

But despite their busy schedule, Johnny has been speaking about his new book, The Forest Is The Path, which coincides with the release of their latest album, which was inspired by the death of his dad in 2019. Jack, Gary’s dad had tragically suffered from dementia.

Speaking about his late dad, he said: “In my youth he was more of a sort of a stoic figure. He was a very funny man but he wouldn’t have been too emotional. I never saw him cry or anything like that, he was kind of a tough guy. He wouldn’t be running around telling people his feelings or anything like that, which probably would have been the opposite of me, I was more like my mum. Him and I were a bit sort of chalk and cheese”.

Today’s horoscope for March 12 as Aries sees a promising day for their love life

It’s Wednesday, March 12, and one star sign will see a promising day for their love life.

There are 12 zodiac signs – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces – and the horoscopes for each can give you the lowdown on what your future holds, be it in work, your love life, your friends and family or more.

These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant, who has been reading star signs for over 50 years. From horoscopes/aries/daily/”>Aries through to Pisces, here’s what today could bring for your horoscope – and what you can do to be prepared.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

A promising day for your love life and you might see an increase in your income as well. Travelling will bring some happy experiences but be prepared for unexpected expenses to arise. Pay attention to your health later in the day.

Taurus (Apr 21 – May 21)

Whether you’re trying to improve your own opportunities or helping to inspire someone close to make a name for themselves, patience is essential. Your eagerness for change may not be shared by others who will be indifferent until you help them see the potential advantages.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

If you don’t want to end up disappointed, set goals that you can realistically reach. Keep your approach practical and grounded. If you’re uneasy about tension in a close relationship, take the first step towards mending things between you by reaching out. Put time into it and you can work through any disagreement.

Cancer (June 22 – July 23)

An unexpected meeting could open the door to an amazing opportunity. This experience will cause you to reflect on aspects of life that often go unnoticed. Focus your attention on activities shared with others so you don’t feel as if you’re wasting your time.

Leo (July 24 – Aug 23)

Should you face any delays or sudden changes in travel plans, think about cutting your trip short or even not going at all. Someone will try to rush you into making decisions. Carelessness can lead to accidents so pause, take a deep breath and then decide what you want to do.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sept 23)

Even though you’re a down to earth person, there are times when an emotional tale can pull at your heartstrings. This seems to be happening now. While someone’s worries may seem sincere, take a moment to think before responding. It could be that you are more susceptible to these kinds of emotional appeals right now.

Libra (Sept 24 – Oct 23)

Believe in yourself and your talents and you will achieve great things in your job and professional life. Much to your surprise you could receive encouragement from a superior who has been impressed by your recent efforts. Work related travel will go well for you.

Scorpio (Oct 24 – Nov 22)

Difficult situations can drive you to extremes, causing you to behave in ways that feel out of character. Your upbringing or guidance from an older figure in your childhood has left a mark on your mindset. Now it’s important to take a step back and decide what is right for you.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 – Dec 21)

Your aim should be to make the most of beneficial circumstances. There is no need to hesitate when you receive an excellent offer. Go for it. Links with a foreigner, foreign country or multinational corporation will bring you both financial gains and some enjoyable experiences.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20)

A joint effort will bring mixed results. Looking to the future, some lengthy trips could be feasible but will they bring the happiness you anticipate? People and places you visit and those you are travelling with will all impact the overall experience.

Aquarius (Jan 21 – Feb 19)

Chatting with a friend or neighbour will be more informative than expected. Whether they’re talking about the past or discussing a potential opportunity, what they say will leave you surprised. It will appear as if they’re a bit too knowledgeable about things that don’t really involve them.

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

It feels wonderful to be in the company of people you love and that’s all you want at the moment. Yet some concerns will take you away from what you really want to do. Work through these distractions. Get them over with and then you will be free to cherish those special moments with the people who are closest to your heart.

Rosie O’Donnell leaves USA for Ireland – because she is so fed up with Donald Trump

Award-winning comedian Rosie O’Donnell isn’t laughing now.

For the TV star has become so annoyed with Donald Trump, she has left the USA for a new life in Ireland, more than 3, 000 miles away. The 62-year-old comedian told fans the development in a nine-minute video she posted on social media.

The actress, born in New York, says: “When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back… I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child. And here we are”.

O’Donnell praised the “kind” people of Ireland in the footage. She adds: “It’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming. And I’m very grateful”.

The star, who had her own daytime talk programme, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, between 1996 and 2002, has been a vocal President Trump critic over the years. They had an infamous spat on X, then called Twitter, during Mr Trump’s first presidency.

And the Republican’s return has proved too much for O’Donnell, who began her comedy career as a teenager in 1979. In the video, the mum of five continues: “It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know”.

She confirms, in the clip, she is in Ireland with her 12-year-old daughter but her other children are understood to still be in the US. They are all older than school age. O’Donnell says: “Sorry for those of you who were worried and who missed me. I just felt like we needed to take care of ourselves and make some hard decisions and follow through”.

O’Donnell’s big move follows that of Golden Globe-winning actor Richard Gere, who left the US for a new life in Madrid, Spain. The 75-year-old star, who was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, upped sticks recently to, in part, be closer to his wife’s in-laws, according to Vanity Fair.

Gere, who was in Chicago and Pretty Woman, told the outlet he felt it would be a “great adventure” to relocate with wife Alejandra Silva, 42, and their sons Alexander, five, and James, four, “because I have never lived full-time outside of the United States”.

Danny Jones and wife Georgia ‘are now on a break’ following his ‘ultimate betrayal’

Danny Jones and wife Georgia are “now on a break and are living apart from each other”, according to reports today.

Georgia Horsley is said to want “time to process what has happened” following her husband’s kiss with TV personality Maura Higgins at a BRITs afterparty. It had seemed, though, the couple were united as photographs taken on Tuesday – the first time the couple had been pictured together since the kiss – showed Danny and Georgia nursing coffees in Richmond, southwest London.

But a friend said: “It has been overwhelming and she needs time to process what has happened. Only then can she begin to talk about the future. They are now on a break and are living apart from each other”.

Their claims come after Georgia, a former Miss England, posted on social media a tender picture of Cooper, the seven-year-old son she shares with McFly singer Danny. The mum of one, who is from York, has been inundated with support across social media since the kiss, including from her celebrity pals.

And the Mail Online reports the 10-year marriage is on the rocks as the source said Georgia is angry with the “chaos” the scandal has caused. They added: “She is furious – not just with her husband’s actions, but with all the chaos this has brought to their lives, particularly for their young son Cooper. All she wants to do is protect her boy from this mess”. Another source told the publication Danny, 39 today, had committed the “ultimate betrayal”.

Danny, who won I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here last year after competing with Maura, was blasted on social media after the footage of the smooch emerged.

One fan commented on Instagram: “Then he went and cheated on his wife”. Another echoed: “Wtf Danny. You are married with a child. Fans are meant to respect you but how can they when you don’t even respect yourself”. Someone else added: “Oh Danny you had it all man”. Another fan defended Danny, as they wrote: “Omg EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP! These are people lives. Leave them alone”.

And Maura, who was in Love Island in 2019, also caused a stir online. People tagged Maura alongside vomiting emojis and others left rantings of frustration. Another said: “Not cool” with a series of emojis, including three “thumbs-down” graphics. One Instagram user posted: “Oh dear very disappointing” among the string of comments.
