Roman Kemp says ‘it will ruin the show a little bit’ as he issues Gogglebox warning

Roman Kemp has been appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his dad, EastEnders icon Martin, for the past three years and has now ‘ruined’ the secrets of the hit Channel 4 show

Roman Kemp has spilled the beans on Gogglebox’s behind-the-scenes setup, revealing the show’s “tiny TVs” and the guidance stars receive from producers. The One Show‘s Roman, 32, has been appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his dad, EastEnders legend Martin Kemp, 63, since 2019.

Initially, the duo began filming in Roman’s flat, but a dispute with a neighbour led to interruptions during recordings. This hiccup forced them to film in a show home temporarily before settling into an annexe on the property where soap star Martin lives with his wife Shirlie.

On his podcast You About? with musician Tom Grennan, Roman revealed that they spend roughly “four hours” each week filming for Gogglebox. He warned Gogglebox fans he was about to “ruin” some of the show’s mystique.

Roman remarked: “With Gogglebox, and they’ve done it for so many years, I don’t think they mind me saying—you’re not watching the entire show. By the way, if you like Gogglebox and don’t want to know this, don’t listen, because it will ruin the show a little bit,” he said, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

He continued: “You watch on a smaller telly—the TV is so tiny. It’s a small, tiny little monitor that you have to watch it on. And you’re watching TV there with about three cameras in the room with you. They don’t have people behind them—they’re electronic.

“There’s a little voice, and the producer will talk to you and so on. You probably watch, out of an hour-long show or movie, 12 minutes. Usually, a cut-down is around 12 minutes; a lot of the time it’s six or seven.

“If you’re watching a quiz show, you’re only watching six minutes of that quiz show—the best bit. So that’s when we were like, ‘Okay, you’ve got to play this.'”

Tom, who also appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with his father, explained that celebrities “don’t get TV time” if they misjudge what viewers want. This prompted Roman to explain that he and Martin quickly figured out what works for them.

He added: “You have to figure out what people like watching from you. We found out quite quickly that literally the only parts of me and my dad being in it are when one of us is farting, one of us is falling over… What I will say, though, is that that is our relationship.”

While Roman and Martin eventually settled on using the former Spandau Ballet bassist’s house as their filming base, Martin had a series of conditions for crew members. He told them they had to “sit outside in a van” and couldn’t come in for lunch.

Bob Vylan announce last-minute Bristol gig amid ongoing police investigations

Bob Vylan, the punk duo who sparked controversy with their Glastonbury Festival set, have just announced another last-minute gig in Bristol tonight, July 11, amid ongoing police investigations.

Punk duo Bob Vylan have announced a second last-minute gig of the week in Bristol on Friday night, following a similar performance in London amid two police investigations into the band.

The pair are being investigated by Avon and Somerset Police over their Glastonbury Festival set, which saw frontman Bobby Vylan, whose real name is reportedly Pascal Robinson-Foster, 34, lead crowds in chants of “Death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)” during their ‘high risk’ livestreamed performance.

The Ipswich-formed duo, who are completed by drummer Bobbie Vylan, are also being investigated by the Metropolitan Police for alleged comments in a video of their performance supporting Iggy Pop at Alexandra Palace in May.

In the video, Bobby Vylan appears to say: “Death to every single IDF soldier out there as an agent of terror for Israel. Death to the IDF.”

Announcing the show at Bristol’s Thekla venue, the band said on Instagram: “Bristol tonight @‌theklabris ticket link in bio. On sale now.”

The new gig comes after the band posted a message on Instagram on Thursday saying “where next?” following their London show.

At their performance at the 100 Club in Oxford Street on Wednesday, the singer told the crowd to stop the IDF chants as they could “get me in trouble”, before leading the crowd in chants of “Free, free Palestine.”

The duo ended the gig by holding up a Palestinian flag, with Bobby Vylan telling the audience: “We are a loving band, we love you lot for being here with us. We love the Palestinian people.

“Their strength, their resilience, their ability to keep on going in the face of it all is a beautiful and inspiring thing. So as hard as this week may have been for us, it has been nothing in comparison to what the Palestinian people are going through right now.

“That is where the attention should be. That is where the focus should be. That is where these politicians and media outlets should be focusing their attention right now, not on the words or the actions of a f— punk band. It is ridiculous and it only speaks to the ridiculous state of this country right now.”

Following their Glastonbury performance, the band have had their US visas revoked, ahead of their US tour later this year, and were pulled from their Saturday headline slot at Radar festival in Manchester and from an upcoming performance at a German music venue.

Their agency United Talent Agency (UTA) has also reportedly dropped them following the comments, and appears to have removed the act from its official website.

The group issued a statement last week claiming they were being “targeted for speaking up”.

Bob Vylan are still expected to perform at the Boardmasters surfing and music festival in Newquay, Cornwall, in August.

According to reports in The Times, the BBC’s director of music Lorna Clarke was among a group of senior staff who have stepped back from their day-to-day roles after controversy over the broadcaster’s decision to show Bob Vylan’s set live.

Their Glastonbury Festival set came directly before Irish rap trio Kneecap performed on the West Holts Stage.

The group, made up of Liam Og O hAnnaidh, JJ O Dochartaigh and Naoise O Caireallain, are also seeing their Glastonbury set investigated by police.

Their performance saw one of the band’s members joke that fans should “start a riot” outside his bandmate’s upcoming court appearance, and led crowds in chants of “F— Keir Starmer”, after the British Prime Minister claimed their appearance at the festival was “not appropriate”.

O hAnnaidh, who performs as Mo Chara, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in June charged with a terror offence and will return next month.

Formed in 2017, Bob Vylan are known for addressing political issues in their albums including racism, masculinity and class.

Love Island’s Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri issue statement after he slammed star in brutal rant

Love Island’s Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page shared their wish to ‘move on’ from their relationship after the latter took to social media to slam the Strictly Come Dancing favourite.

He previously took to his Snapchat to write: “Wasn’t gonna speak about it all. However, the girl can’t keep my name out her mouth even thought she’s got a new boyfriend. The truth is… She went on Raya while we were still together… Oops. No one is perfect in a relationship but you keep talking s**t about me, I’ll start talking. She did one too many podcasts unfortunately. This is your closure chat.”

The couple met on Love Island in 2022 but went their separate ways in January, with Tasha recently admitting she regrets how she treated him after they ‘grew apart’ during her Strictly stint.

The two split up earlier this year

Speaking to Rylan Clark on How To Be In Love, Tasha said their relationship struggled before her Strictly stint as she claimed he offered her ‘no support’ during her time on the show.

“It got to a point where I was also trying to help him out, but he wasn’t willing to help himself. And that’s so hard because when you love someone, you want them to… you want the best for them,” she admitted.

“But there’s a point where you’re trying to also do the best for yourself and you’re trying to grow. And then Strictly happened and then I think that made us grow apart. On social media… it did come across like he was there supporting me, but emotionally at home, he wasn’t.

“I remember this one time, I was in a dance -off in the semi-finals. And I called him, like, you know, ‘I feel really nervous’. And he was just out there, gaming, didn’t stop gaming, didn’t put his console down, or take his headphones off and say, ‘Okay, talk to me.'”

She realised she ‘deserved better than that’ as she asked herself: “Why am I settling for something that I’m having to really beg for?'”

Not long after, he took to Snapchat to share the furious rant, which he soon deleted. Tasha once opened up about her regret in joining Raya before her split was public.

“I’ve already owned up to it, so yeah,” before she was asked: “And admitted you thought it was a mistake in retrospect?”

She then said: “Yeah. I’m happy being single at the moment.” And now, the duo put on a united front as they hit out at the ‘judgement and cruelty’ from fans and trolls.

Tasha said: “No one deserves to be torn down, especially when they’re already trying to heal. We’ve both made mistakes, we’ve both learned, and we’ve both grown. But the judgement and cruelty we are facing from people online has been hard.”

The dancer went on to remind fans there are ‘real people with real emotions’ behind every social media comment.

Meanwhile, Andrew addressed their back-and-forth, telling MailOnline: “Things were said on both sides, but at the end of the day, no relationship is perfect, but ours still had some incredible moments I’ll always be grateful for.

“I truly just want us both to move on and be happy. Wishing Tasha nothing but the best, and I’ll always be proud of her.”

Justin Bieber’s most concerning lyrics on new album as fans stunned by revelations

Justin Bieber has surprised fans by dropping a new album called SWAG, which features emotional songs and voice notes including Therapy Sessions, Glory Voice Memo and All I Can Take

Justin Bieber has surprised fans by dropping a new album titled SWAG. The Baby singer released new music, with tracks including Therapy Sessions, Dadz Love and Devotion amongst others.

In his emotional album – which some fans are describing as his best work yet – Justin opened up about his own feelings and emotions at length, where he and his collaborators sang and spoke about their emotions.

Justin has concerned fans as of late with his erratic social media posts, and there had even been rumours he had split from his wife Hailey Bieber. However, it seems like they are stronger than ever as he shared a snap of them and their son to mark the album release.

Here’s all the most heartbreaking lyrics in Justin’s new album.

All I Can Take

In his song All I Can Take, Justin sings about “no one listening” and talks about the “symptoms of his sensitivity”. He explains in the lyrics: “These symptoms of my sensitivity / Feels worser knowin’ no one’s listening / This is it, I can’t change, Lord knows I try.”

In another part of the song, he sings about all he can take, as he shares: “And it’s all I can take (In this moment) / And it’s all I can take (All I can take) / And it’s all I can take (In this moment).”

Daisies

In Daisies, he talks about whether someone loves him or not and his own fears about the future of a bond with someone else. He makes no specific reference to any relationship including that of his wife Hailey Bieber.

In the song, he sings, “Throwin’ petals like, “Do you love me or not?” / Head is spinnin’, and it don’t know when to stop / You said “Forever,” babe, did you mean it or not? / Hold on, hold on.”

Go Baby

In his track Go Baby, Justin sings about supporting someone else as they struggle. He promises them they can cry on his shoulder whenever they need and that they “don’t need to pretend” they’re ok.

“When sunlight turns to shadow and it gets hard to face / Like water to a flower, babe, I know you need the rain / Nothing needs to work out and nothing needs to break / Don’t need to pretend that you’re okay,” he sings.

“So cry on my shoulder, just turn into me / Cry on my shoulder whenever you need it / You better believe it that I can hold all the weight and shrivel inside.”

Butterflies

In Butterflies, Justin sings about someone just wanting money from him. Money has been a big topic surrounding Justin as he reportedly owed $26 million to his former manager Scooter Braun. Braun stepped in to pay for Justin when he was given an advance for his Justice tour, which he cancelled.

Justin has now reportedly agreed to pay back the $26 million as well as half of a whopping $11 million that Braun claimed he was owed in unpaid commissions.

In his song, he sings: “You just want money / Money, money, money, money, money, money / Money, get out of here, bro / Money, that’s all you want, you don’t care about human beings / All you want is money.”

Walking Away

In his track Walking Away, Justin worryingly sings about being “defenceless” and wanting to change.

“Days go by so fast, don’t wanna spend them with you / So tell me why you’re throwing stones at my back / You know I’m defenceless,” he sings, whilst in another bit, he adds: “I made you a promise / I told you I’d change / It’s just human nature / These growing pains / And baby, I ain’t walking away.”

Glory Voice Memo

Perhaps one of the most heartbreaking moments of the album, he sings about being used and “let down”.

He sings over a heavy bassline: “I’ve been used, and I’ve been beaten down / I been let down and strung out / Too wild when I fall down, screaming out / But I, I reach out my hands, I’m beggin’ You for mercy.”

Therapy Sessions

In Therapy Sessions, Justin speaks openly about his feelings and struggles, addressing the concerns in full for the first time.

He tells his collaborator Druski: “And that’s been a tough thing for me recently / It’s feelin’ like, you know, I have had to go through a lot of my struggles as a human / As all of us do really publicly.

“And so people are always askin’ if I’m okay / And that starts to really weigh on me.” When Druski talks about people’s reaction to his comments, he adds: “It starts to make me feel like I’m the one with issues and everyone else is perfect.”

Fan feedback

Since the album dropped, fans have been taking to social media to share their concerns. One wrote: “Damn it hurt me listening like , I just kept thinking that’s exactly what’s going on inside his head right now, very sad man indeed. And music is a Pass. Sorry Justin.. it’s just terrible,” as another added: “I really need people to listen to this album not expecting justin bieber but just justin. it’s raw, it’s real, it’s vulnerable and you can tell it was therapeutic for him to make.

“He stepped away for years and made his most authentic project yet. it’s an album full of REAL music, it’s an album full of JUSTIN, a man who loves to make music for the ART. i truly love everything about it.”

Amanda Holden throws lavish garden party for daughter, 13, with tepees and ice cream van

Britain’s Got Talent judge and Heart Radio Breakfast star Amanda Holden has thrown her daughter Hollie a lavish party to mark the teen’s school year coming to an end

Amanda Holden has thrown a Beverly Hills inspired party for her daughter Hollie to mark a new era for the teen. Hollie, 13, is heading into Year nine this coming September and is also changing schools.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge pulled out all the stops for the special occasion as she rented a VIP bus for Hollie and all of her school friends to arrive in style to the party. The actress took to her Instagram page on Thursday as she shared a video of the party which took place in a glamping tepee tent in the garden.

As well as this Hollie and her friends enjoyed a meal in the garden – which was covered in pink and green balloons, green cardboard cut out palm trees and pink and white striped rubber rings to add to the summery theme – as the group sat on colourful pink and green pillows in front of a long table laden with plenty of delicious plates. A sign was put up for the occasion which read: “Hollie’s goodbye for now…”

Hollie and Amanda’s guests were also treated to delicious ice creams as the BGT judge hired an ice cream van to come and visit her lavish home. The guests were also treated to a sleepover in the stunning tepee tents, complete with comfy, plump roll out mattresses and tray tables which each had personalised cups and towels on and were each decorated with a vase of flowers and a tiny lamp each.

The guests were also gifted their own personalised denim jackets to top off the lavish celebrations. As Amanda gave a glimpse inside the adorable and swanky garden party, with the video on her Instagram, she wrote in the caption: “A new era for our #HRH she’s changing schools!!! To a truly fabulous one closer to home… Roll on year 9!!”

She added: “We did a little au-revoir party as even though she won’t be seeing them every day her friends will stay her friends!! and it goes without saying that me and the mum’s will forever be drinking rosé and enjoying life as normal!!

“Thank you to the people below – everything was bought and paid for, but they all went above and beyond to make this a truly special afternoon in the sunshine.”

The company who helped set up the event, called Muddy Boots, took to their own Instagram page to reveal the the brief for the event was “Beverly Hills vibes”.

Amanda is mum to 13-year-old Hollie and 19-year-old daughter Lexi with her husband Chris Hughes who she has been married to since 2008.

This comes after Amanda was left embarrassed as she made an awkward admission on her Heart Radio show. She revealed, as she sat with Jamie Theakston, that she had accidentally been flashing her electrician.

Speaking on Wednesday, Amanda said that her back garden was being renovated and that a time lapse camera was installed to help understand the layout. But, in a funny turn of events, Amanda said she didn’t realise the camera was recording and had been naked in her garden as well as flashing her breasts to her husband.

She said: “We are having our garden done over the summer and I thought it would be really fun to put a time-lapse camera over the whole of our garden.

“He [the electrician] said ‘oh well I’ll have to look at what we’re doing for all the angles are right on that [time lapse]’. Yeah he said it’s been going for the last couple of days and I went ‘I am always naked in my back garden’.”

Amanda added: “No word of a lie, I have definitely been naked and then for a joke the other day, I was sorting something out in the garden and my husband waved at me, from the bedroom window, and I flashed my boobs at him.”

Jamie Theakston then simply asked: “What’s wrong with you?” Amanda responded: “Because I thought this is funny! And I went ‘woo-hoo!’ like that.”

Amanda added: “I had no idea! Because it was all stuck to a drainpipe which is black and the camera’s black, I had no idea it was up and now Andy’s going to be reviewing this footage and I need it all deleted!”

Fiona Phillips ‘doesn’t know her husband’ as he gives heartbreaking health update

Martin Frizell, husband to former broadcaster Fiona Phillips, shared a heartbreaking update on his wife’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease on This Morning

Fiona Phillips’ husband explained in a heartbreaking interview on This Morning that she “doesn’t quite know that I’m her husband.”

Martin Frizell appeared on This Morning on Friday (11 July) to discuss his wife’s memoir, Remember When: My Life with Alzheimer’s, which was published in June.

He sat down with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary to share an insight into Fiona’s current state, admitting she now struggles to remember who he is.

“She does recognise me most of the time. She doesn’t quite know that I’m her husband, but she knows who I am,” Martin, who has been married to Fiona for 28 years, heartbreakingly told the ITV hosts.

Martin revealed that Fiona has anxiety but would “love to be” at the interview with him. He also added: “She’s got a secondary problem that causes her to be in pain a lot, which adds to the confusion.”

He went on to recall a recent incident where Fiona had mistakenly thought he was trying to kidnap her, as she failed to recognise him while they were out by their home.

“In the book, there’s a picture of her at the end of our road. The most recent picture I took, only a few weeks ago. She’s looking great, she’s smiling, she’s got her coat on. What you don’t know is, she thought I’d kidnapped her,” he said.

“This was us going out, because you get all sorts of delusions, because you get so worked up. She’s saying ‘I want to go home’.”

He added that Fiona occasionally says she wants to “go home to her parents,” but she doesn’t have “the heart” to inform her that her parents are no longer around.

Explaining his approach during these moments, Martin told Dermot and Alison: “Well, what you do is, you say ‘Let’s get our coats on, let’s get our shoes on’, we go out round the block a couple of times and come back in. She says ‘Oh, I’m home now’.”

Fiona was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease in 2022 but didn’t publicly share her diagnosis until 2023. Both of her parents and her uncle also had the disease.

Martin admitted that Fiona had long feared she would be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s due to her family’s history. He said on This Morning: “She knew this disease was going to come knocking at some point.”
