Five Star musician Stedman Pearson’s cause of death has been announced.
It was announced earlier that the late singer had died, aged 60, prompting tributes on social media. It has been announced that he died on March and had been on dialysis. His sister Deniece Pearson, 56, who was also his bandmate, told the PA news agency: “He died on March 10, he was on dialysis and he had diabetes”.
A statement from his family to PA read: “He was a gentleman to the very end – in every way and an amazing son/brother and uncle. May the memories and love he gave to us and the world be our greatest comfort. He will be deeply missed”.
Stedman rose to fame four decades ago as a member of the band Five Star alongside his younger siblings, including Deniece. The group also included Lorraine Pearson, 57, Doris Pearson, 58, and Delroy Pearson, 54. Five Star, which had been put together by their father and manager Buster Pearson, had six Top 10 singles in the UK.

Five Star released their debut album, Luxury of Life, in 1985 – just two years after their formation as a group. The album included the song System Addict, which remains one of their highest charting singles after peaking at Number 3.
Their follow-up album Silk &, Steel topped the charts upon its release in 1986. Its tracklist includes the Slightest Touch and Find the Time. Rain or Shine – which is the band’s highest charting single, having reached Number 2 – is also on the album.
The siblings have since released several other albums and numerous singles.

In a surprising turn, Dawn Robinson from En Vogue, the famous R&, B girl group known for their hits in the ‘ 90s, revealed that she had recently been living in a car while struggling to get by.
She shared her story of homelessness in a video posted on YouTube earlier this week. “For the past three – almost three years, I have been living in my car… I said it. Oh my God”, the 58-year-old singer, who had a successful solo career before returning to En Vogue, said in the clip.
Dawn’s struggles began in 2020 when she felt compelled to move out the Las Vegas home she shared with her mother. The musician continued: “I can’t deal with this. I respect her too much. I didn’t understand it. I still don’t and it hurt me. I was just trying to figure it out but I couldn’t… you can’t read someone else’s mind and you can’t figure them out”.

Her exit led her to spend around a month sleeping in her vehicle in the heat of Las Vegas. During this time, her manager encouraged her to head back to Los Angeles, a city she “loved”. Initially, the plan was for her to crash with her manager until she found stability, but space issues arose due to both having dogs. After living in a hotel, with the support of her manager, and struggling to find suitable rental accommodation, Dawn decided to leave hotel life behind and took her car to Malibu in 2022.
Dawn has lived out of her car ever since and has adapted to her living arrangement, revealing she now feels “free”. But, the singer isn’t the only celebrity to have fallen on hard times. In fact, many celebrities have had to battle homelessness or extreme financial difficulties before eventually finding their way to the top. Let’s take a closer look at some well-known stars who have faced adversity and struggled with homelessness or financial difficulties.

Before Halle Berry became an Oscar-winning actress, she was living in a homeless shelter in New York City. Halle had moved to the city to pursue acting, but after running out of money, she had no choice but to seek shelter. She eventually landed small roles and went on to become one of Hollywood’s most recognised actresses, starring in films like Monster’s Ball and X-Men.
Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez faced financial difficulties early in her career. Before her big break, she was living in a small apartment in the Bronx while working as a dancer in low-paying jobs. JLo’s career took off after her role in Selena (1977), and she soon became a multi-talented superstar, excelling in acting, singing, and fashion. She made her chart debut in May 1999 with her hit song If You Had My Love. The song topped the charts in six countries, including the USA.
Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey experienced homelessness throughout his teens after his family went from “lower-middle class to complete poverty” when his father lost his job as an accountant. Forced to live out of a van and in a tent, Jim supported his family by working as a janitor while still attending school. According to an interview with James Lipton on Inside the Actors Studio, Jim became angry and withdrawn, with his grades and mental health suffering as a result. His breakthrough came in 1994 when he got a lead role in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Sylvester Stallone
Before Rocky, Stallone faced poverty and struggled to land acting roles, eventually writing the screenplay for the film that made him famous (Getty Images)
Sylvester Stallone’s journey was a challenging one before the release of Rocky. In the early 1970s, Sylvester faced extreme financial hardship and even homelessness while struggling to find work. At his lowest point, he had to sell his family dog because he couldn’t afford to care for it. “I was at the end — the very end of my rope”, Sylvester reflected in a 2001 commentary for the Rocky DVD.
Sylvester wrote the screenplay for Rocky and, after much persistence, was able to sell it on the condition that he would play the lead role. The movie became a major success, launching his career. Rocky earned over $225 million at the box office and brought Sylvester nominations for Best Actor and Best Screenplay in 1977.
Hilary Swank

Hilary Swank and her mother were living in a car after they moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. The pair ended up living in their car after her parents ‘ separation. “We stayed in her Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme on quiet streets”, Hilary told The Wall Street Journal. “When we weren’t in the car, we stayed at a friend’s house, sleeping on an air mattress”.
Hilary had grown up in a trailer park in Bellingham, Washington, facing financial struggles from a young age. While she tried to remain positive, she felt the sting of social rejection from wealthier peers.
“It wasn’t until I was excluded from dinners and playdates that I realised living in a trailer park made me an outcast”, she said. “Though I knew I was perceived as different, I didn’t immediately understand the classism. Then I did. I also understood that where we lived was a bigger issue for people than who I was”. Hilary faced a series of challenges, but she eventually landed the role in Boys Don’t Cry (1999), which earned her an Academy Award. She went on to win another Oscar for her role in Million Dollar Baby (2004).

Natasha Lyonne
Natasha Lyonne spent time in a homeless shelter and overcame addiction before finding fame in Orange Is the New Black (FilmMagic)
Actress Natasha Lyonne shot to fame in hit movie American Pie. But her struggles with addiction reportedly led her to living on the streets for a stint.
In 2004 she had been staying at her actor friend Michael Rapaport’s house. But, she was later evicted, leaving her homeless. While living in the Manhattan townhouse, she was arrested for harassing neighbours and destroying property. On the eviction and fallout, she told Entertainment Weekly: “At the time I didn’t understand, but now it’s like, if I owned a nice brownstone—and]someone] was constantly moving pianos while listening to Richard Pryor CDs, and trying to figure out how to play Easy Like Sunday Morning on the piano for days at a time—I would potentially be p**sed too”.
Natasha, who at the time was also facing issues with addiction in her life, later had the charges dropped. Her career took an upturn when she was cast on Netflix hit Orange Is The New Black.
Shania Twain

Shania Twain grew up in poverty, and after her parents’ divorce, she and her family lived in a shelter. She previously told KIIS FM presenter Kyle Sandilands: “First we went to a battered women’s sort of crisis centre until they can place you in a battered women’s home. Thankfully we were placed fairly quickly within a week or two into a battered wives home which was so necessary, all the steps are necessary to keep you protected and off the street so it’s better to be in a homeless shelter than be homeless on the street.”
Shania went on to become one of the best-selling female artists in country music with hits like Man! I Feel Like a Woman! and You’re Still the One.

Donatella Versace is giving up the creative reins of luxury fashion label Versace, which she has led for nearly 30 years, with Miu Miu’s Dario Vitale taking over, the brand’s owner said Thursday.
The shuffling comes amid reports that larger Italian rival Prada — which owns Miu Miu — is in talks to buy Versace, which was co-founded by Donatella Versace’s brother, Gianni, in 1978.
The development brings to an end the family control over the creative direction of Versace, a brand famous for its showy, skin-baring looks for jet-setters.

Donatella Versace will become the label’s chief brand ambassador beginning April 1, the same day Vitale takes over, owner Capri Holdings Limited said in a statement.
“It has been the greatest honour of my life to carry on my brother Gianni’s legacy.  , He was the true , genius,  , but , I hope I have some of his spirit and tenacity”, Versace said, adding that she will remain “Versace’s , most passionate supporter”.
Vitale has led the design direction of Miu Miu — Prada’s sister brand, which targets a younger clientele — since 2023, helping to boost the company’s bottom line in a challenging environment for luxury fashion.
Versace boasts “a unique heritage that has spanned decades and has shaped the history of fashion”, Vitale said.

Fashion group Capri Holdings, which also owns Jimmy Choo and Michael Kors, has owned Versace since 2018.
Bloomberg reported earlier this month that Capri is asking for nearly 1.5 billion euros ($1.6 billion) for the brand.
“Chief Creative Officer Donatella Versace will assume the role of chief brand ambassador effective April 1, 2025”, the same day that Vitale will take over, Capri said in a statement.
The backlash Maura Higgins has faced following her kiss with married Danny Jones will subside and end with her ‘ coming out on top’, a PR expert has predicted.
Maura, 34, and her former I’m A Celebrity co-star Danny, 39, were seen locking lips at a BRIT Awards after-party in London earlier this month. Footage released shortly after the awards ceremony showed Danny, who is married to Georgia Horsley, 38, with whom he shares son Cooper, seven, getting close to the ex Love Islander.
Both Maura and Danny have come under fire from fans following their late-night antics. While despite being the single one, a friend of Maura’s told the Mirror the reaction has been “utterly relentless”, adding that “the abuse” she’s experienced over the situation has been “off the charts”.
Maura is yet to publicly comment on the scandal, like McFly member Danny and his wife Georgia, but has continued posting to Instagram amid the furore. Maura shared snaps of her jetting off to Los Angeles first class and then shared more photos of her glamorous work trip. While Danny has kept silent with the exception of reposting birthday messages from his fans and celebrity pals.
Sharing his thoughts on the differing approaches to the drama, talent and brand strategist Dylan Davey, who founded The Social Inc, has suggested that Maura won’t be defeated for one simple reason.

It comes after she reportedly had a ‘ drunken kiss ‘ with Danny Jones (left), who is married to Georgia Horsley (right) (Getty Images for the NTA’s)
While Danny has gone to ground since the news broke, Maura has refused to be cut off – continuing to post about her glamorous jet-setting lifestyle and larking about with pals.
Expert Dylan says: “Maura has been through a lot and has thick skin so I have a feeling she will come out on top regardless. She is young, popular, beautiful and in demand”. He then added: “All this is doing is giving her some temporary backlash, which will subside once she has played her next moves publicly”.
Asked if it’s advisable for a celebrity to release a statement to direct the narrative amid a scandal, Dylan suggested the best way to tackle bad publicity is to ‘ control the narrative ‘, as Maura has by promoting her lucrative next modelling campaign.
“Getting on the front foot can definitely be a way to control the way a news story pans out publicly, but it’s really down to the talent individually to sign off a strategy”, says Dylan “The benefit of speaking out means you take back an element of control, and also stops any articles or speculation that can cause any damage. I’m a big believer in controlling the narrative otherwise it becomes silly season”.

McFly’s Danny and wife of 14 years Georgia are said to be “very much together”, with a source telling us recently: “They are clearly looking to put things behind them, and move on with their lives”. Following their united front in photos released this week, Dylan speculates that Danny will “come out of this fine” too.
He commented: “Danny has a hugely loyal fanbase of over 20 plus years, this fanbase are the same fanbase that voted for him to win the jungle, the same fanbase that voted for Dougie to win in the jungle and who buy tickets that sell out McFly arena tours and keep them alive as a group.
” Therefore on that basis I think Danny will come out of this fine if he manages to sort things out with his wife and commits to a strategy that shows that they will continue to be strong as a unit and have worked through their issues. “

Katie Price has opened up about the trauma she has from her Mucky Mansion.
The former model was evicted from her mock Tudor home in May last year after she failed to keep up her payments on the mortgage for the property. Katie had purchased the home from ex Tory peer, Francis Maude, and it even had its own Channel 4 programme as she attempted to renovate the derelict building she once called home.
But after moving out of the once glorious property with sprawling gardens, Katie lashed out and said that it was “cursed” and she had nothing but “bad memories” as she looked to start a fresh in her swanky new home. Now, the 46-year-old has opened up about the home and the trauma she feels when she drives past it.
“Everything is going so well for me”, Katie said, adding: “Moving house, being in this house, it’s the best thing I ever did was move from that house. When I drive past my old house, I get a knot in my stomach, my anxiety, my brain is like a flip chart of all different memories.
Katie has revealed the trauma she experiences when she sees Mucky Mansion
” It’s just a trigger for me that, even when I have to drive past that house. I can’t avoid it sometimes from the areas that I go to. “Katie continued:” But it’s weird how a house can torment you mentally, memories, it’s weird. “Having been declared bankrupt for the second time last year, Katie’s Mucky Mansion was sold in December for just £1.5 million in order to pay off her debts.
Last year, before she left Mucky Mansion, sources told that Katie was excited to turn her back on Mucky Mansion. They told The Sun:” Katie has been dreading this day for so long but now it is here, she can’t wait to leave. The house has caused her so much grief and was too much to handle on her own. With work and the kids it all became too much in recent years. And she’s convinced it’s haunted. “

Meanwhile, Katie said:” I absolutely hate the Mucky Mansion, even how it’s been called the Mucky Mansion because of all the stuff that happened there before. I can’t wait to get out of that house I’ve had nothing but bad memories in that house for nine years. I hate the Mucky Mansion, I never want to see it again. New beginnings, new start, reset button, I love it. “
Katie sold Mucky Mansion for £1.15 million, a fraction of the cost it was originally listed for at a whooping £1.35 million. However, Katie didn’t receive a single penny from the sale as she hadn’t owned it at the time. The property which sits on 12 acres of land was Katie’s home for several years.
After she vacated the home, the property was left in a severely neglected state. The grounds became overgrown, the swimming pool water turned green, and cleaners had to clear piles of rubbish and remove abandoned vehicles before it could be listed for sale. Reports claim that over 20 tonnes of waste needed to be cleared to make the property market-ready.

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright are in a “perfect love bubble” with their new baby daughter as a friend lifted the lid on their new-found bliss.
A friend said her and Mark has “shut up shop and cleared the diary” as they decamped with baby Palma to their Essex mansion.
The baby – named after their Majorcan capital – was born a week ago, and they told only the immediate family circle. A source said: “They wanted to keep the news very private and bask in the glory of a new-born without any distractions without the world knowing. They are in a perfect love bubble with no external noises, and it’s been total and utter bliss”.
A pal said that Michelle had a couple of things in the pipeline but “much further down the line” so she could enjoy being a mum to Palma.

A source added: “It’s such a special time for them both, they are head over heels in love and can’t believe they have created this tiny person. The last week has been utterly wonderful”.
The pair announced the arrival of their daughter with an intimate and tender black and white photo.
Ex-Coronation Street actress Michelle, 37, and former Towie star Mark, 38, were snapped holding hands with tiny Palma Elizabeth. They posted on Instagram: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl” followed by a white heart emoji.
Michelle gave birth last Thursday. Mark’s sister Jess wrote: “Most beautiful addition to our family. I finally have a niece and I am so in love”. The couple, who married in 2015, announced the lifechanging news by sharing a pic of themselves on the beach of a Spanish island with Michelle’s baby bump proudly on display.
In a joint post, they wrote in December: “2025 is going to be a special one for us”.
