Speed Darlington, a rapper from Nigeria, claimed on Monday that he had escaped an alleged assassination attempt.
He claimed the incident occurred on Monday morning while leaving a club in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State while giving an X-linked hint to his fans.
His release from detention in Kuje prison, where he was being held on unnamed charges, comes just days after the allegations are made.
Darlington also revealed that a number of unknown gunmen shot at his car in a video that was shared on his Instagram account, severely damageing it.

Bullet holes were visible in the backseat of the car in the video footage.
He wrote “Long face sent killers my way, and I have not even posted anything. Bro, is this necessary? You attempted to commit suicide. Really”? he said, visibly shaken in the video.
The Nolan family has sent fans an emotional plea as they prepare to bury Linda Nolan.
The well-known family has invited guests to a celebration of the singer’s life, which culminated in a success in the 1970s with the help of the Nolan Sisters. At the age of 65, Linda passed away on January 15. She had been suffering from breast cancer for 20 years and died from double pneumonia.
Sharing the invitation on Linda’s Instagram, the star’s sisters Anne, 74, Denise, 72, Maureen, 69, and Coleen, 59, requested that fans join them to celebrate the “remarkable life” of their sister.

Dublin-born Linda is set to be laid to rest in her ‘ spiritual home ‘ of Blackpool. After moving to the town in 1972, the sisters first gained notoriety at the seaside resort.

“‘ Linda’s funeral service will take place on Saturday, 1st February 2025, at St. Paul’s Church, Honister Avenue, Blackpool, at 10: 30 am. The public and the general public are invited to gather outside the church for the funeral, and the more the merrier, in true Linda spirit!
It continued: “St. Paul’s Church holds a deeply special place in Linda’s heart. It is where she married the love of her life, Brian Hudson, with whom she shared 26 wonderful years of marriage. Brian was Linda’s rock, her soulmate, and the love of her life, just as she was his. Linda fought back when Brian tragically passed away in 2007, but she never lost hope in his sacrifice. Linda also said her final farewell to Brian at St. Paul’s, where they had exchanged their vows, in the same church where they both had sung their last songs.
The post concluded by stating that Linda is finally “at peace” with her husband, and that the couple will hold a private service before agreeing to raise money for Trinity Hospice, a charity that has always been close to Linda’s heart.
The announcement comes after Coleen told the Mirror that Linda had eaten the chocolates she had brought and conversed with her friends and family almost all of the time. Before she passed, Linda also discussed what she wanted for her funeral, with Coleen adding” She wanted everyone in black, wearing mantillas, those little lace veils that cover your face. I remember saying, “You are joking, Linda! If I see all my sisters in mantillas, I’m going to laugh the whole way through the funeral! We’ve decided not to do that, but we are wearing black”.
Coleen says she remembers Linda’s last words to her fondly: “When I left that evening, I told her I’d come and visit the next day and she said”, Oh, you don’t have to “and I said”, I know, but I will “and then she said, ‘ Col, I really love you'”.

Customers at Marks & Spencer have praised a new line of activewear, but one seemingly minor detail caught their attention more.
Despite being founded back in 1884, Marks &, Spencer still maintains its relevance and reputation on the high street thanks to its array of clothing, homeware, accessories and food. The company takes pride in providing customers with high-quality goods in every one of its divisions.
M&, S uses social media to showcase each of its departments in order to keep customers informed of all the newest products and releases they can expect to find both online and in stores.
Recently, an Instagram video featuring digital creator Hayley Karseras – known to her 1.1 million followers as @ladyofthemanor77 – proved popular, racking up more than 280K views. Hayley models a number of outfits and accessories in the video to go with a “weekend of wellness.”
Featured items included leggings, fleece jackets, oversized jumpers, a red swimsuit, a borg baseball hat, a shower-proof coat, and much more. Captioning the video, M&, S simply penned: “Wondering what to wear for a weekend of wellness? It’s in the bag”.
Customers who were overjoyed to share their opinions flocked to the comments section. One person declared: “Obsessed” while another said: “Love it”.
A third was particularly enamoured with a matching two-piece set and commented: “Love the white tracksuit!”! while another said: “Love every item”.
But it was the red shopping bag that caught many people’s attention. Hayley modelled each item in the video by pulling them out of a large rectangular shopping bag.
The red bag, which featured simple M&, S branding in white, resembles the gift bags offered to customers at expensive retailers like Selfridges. Users of Instagram were quick to notice.
One person said: “Oh I wonder are they having new bags” while another said: “I need a red bag”. A third added: “I’m loving the M&, S bags” while a fourth commented: “That bag]heart eyes emoji]”.
Someone else said: “I think the bag is nice” while another agreed: “I love the new red bag”.
