Noel Gallagher pays touching tribute to Caroline Aherne at Manchester show

Noel Gallagher dedicated a touching tribute to fellow Mancunian Caroline Aherne as he took to the stage with brother Liam again in their hometown. Oasis are playing five sold-out shows at Heaton Park in the city to 80,000 fans each night.

Last weekend, the iconic Britpop band paid tribute to footballer Diogo Jota following his tragic death aged 28. During their first Manchester show, Noel took time to pay tribute to comedian, actress, writer and director Caroline.

Noel dedicated Half the World Away to the late Royale Family star, who died in 2016 aged 52, as he said: “This one is for Caroline.” Caroline was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014. Just today, it was revealed Noel had made an incredible gesture to the Teenage Cancer Trust, an organisation extremely close to his heart.

According to the charity’s website, it supports “specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment”.

It has been reported Noel is set to make a generous donation to the charity following the income made on Oasis’ world tour.

Oasis fans have descended on Manchester and unusually, the forecast has bucked the usual unpredictable weather during outdoor events, with hot weather sweeping the UK.

Manchester is set to see temperatures reach nearly 30 degrees over the weekend as the mini-heatwave continues. Bosses have relaxed their usual rules at Heaton Park and have encouraged fans to take water, suncream and hats into the venue.

A few simple words on social media on August 27 in 2024 were enough to spark pandemonium among Oasis fans and were the catalyst for the most eagerly awaited UK gigs of all time.

There will also be medical assistance from the three welfare tents, two situated to the left of the stage and one to the right, close to the merchandise stand and bar. However, dark scenes from inside the tents have shown the preparations in place to support those due to the heat.

BBC Radio 2 host and longtime Oasis fan Vernon Kay shared a glimpse inside a tent as rows and rows of medical beds could be seen. “Here we go, Heaton Park getting ready for those people who refuse to hydrate themselves,” Vernon said as he panned around the room.

He urged: “Come on, gets some electrolytes in your body. We don’t want to see you on any of these mats. These are not for yoga, these are not yoga mats. This is not a sun lounger. These are where people will recover.”

Oasis fans stun the Gallaghers with incredible comeback gift that they never saw coming

Oasis have soared back to the top of the UK charts following their reunion tour, with Time Flies hitting number one and fans flooding Manchester’s Heaton Park

Oasis fans stun Gallaghers brothers with a comeback gift they never saw coming

Oasis are back after a 16 year hiatus – and so is their dominance of the charts. Just days after their long-awaited reunion kicked off in Cardiff, the band has returned to the top of the UK album chart with their greatest hits collection Time Flies, while (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? has climbed to number two.

If that wasn’t enough, their debut album Definitely Maybe also surged to number four, with only Sabrina Carpenter blocking an Oasis clean sweep of the top three. Fans aren’t just streaming albums as their iconic singles are soaring to the top of the charts. Acquiesce, once just a B-side, has landed at number 17 in the singles chart, followed closely by Don’t Look Back in Anger at 18 and Live Forever at 19.

The Britpop legends, who last performed together in 2009, reunited for their first show in 16 years last week. Now, Noel and Liam Gallagher are back on stage for five sold-out nights at Manchester’s Heaton Park, where 80,000 fans are expected each evening.

The tour will continue with multiple dates at London’s Wembley Stadium, as well as shows in Edinburgh, Dublin, and beyond as part of a global run.

While the onstage reunion has been widely praised, ticket sales were not without controversy. Fans reported chaotic queues and inflated prices during the initial sale, but the atmosphere around the shows has since eclipsed those frustrations.

In Manchester, excitement has reached fever pitch. Crowds began forming outside Heaton Park at dawn, armed with camping chairs and umbrellas to endure the 28-degree heat. The gates opened early, giving dedicated fans a head start on finding the perfect view – though the Gallagher brothers weren’t set to appear for another five hours.

The city itself has embraced the comeback as Liam’s voice played over the tram system, while Noel was spotted leaving Gary Neville’s Stock Exchange hotel, and pubs were packed with merch-clad fans.

Amid the heatwave, organizers set up a medical recovery area at the venue in case of dehydration.

Vernon Kay took to Instagram to warn fans to stay safe: “Here we go, Heaton Park – for those who refuse to hydrate themselves – come on! Fill yourselves up with liquid, people! Get some electrolytes in your body.

“We don’t want to see you on any of these mats – these are not yoga mats! This is not a sun lounger! These are where people recover… We don’t want to see a queue for the beds of doom.”

Oasis fans make safety plea to Liam Gallagher as he takes to stage in heatwave

Oasis fans at the band’s Heaton Park gig have made a desperate plea to star Liam Gallagher after the singer took to the stage in the ongoing heatwave. Liam and Noel reunited on stage tonight for the third time for their reunion tour, marking the first gig in their hometown since 2009.

However, both the band and their fans have been battling the heat in Manchester today – with temperatures reaching highs of 30 degree Celsius. Worried fans have taken to social media after Liam appeared on stage in a parka jacket despite the heat.

“Liam, I beg you, take the jacket off #Oasis #HeatonPark #oasislive2025,” one fan wrote.

Another tweeted: “There is no way Liam can wear a coat or even a jacket tonight.”

A third questioned: “Has Liam got his Parka on tonight? #Oasis #HeatonPark”

While a fourth wrote: “Just seen footage.. and even in 30 degree heat he’s not taking that jacket off #oasislive25 #Oasis #oasisheatonpark sounds unreal by the way.”

The Gallagher brothers aren’t the only ones who could be affected by the heat, with the venue setting up emergency rooms for dehydrated fans ahead of tonight.

Bosses have relaxed their usual rules and have encouraged fans to take water, suncream and hats into the venue, while there is medical assistance on hand for anyone who falls ill tonight.

Vernon added: “I know you are going to want to have a drink or two but just go steady people. We want to have a good time, we don’t want to see a queue for the beds of doom.”

Earlier this week, Heaton Park bosses warned fans to stay hydrated in the scorching temperatures.

“Wear sunscreen, you will be permitted to bring in a small bottle 200ml or under and protect yourself from the sun overall/wear a hat; we know the legendary bucket hat will be making an appearance, so you’ll fit right in! Look after yourself and those around you,” they said.

This Morning’s Rylan Clark shares sad emotional struggle post-divorce with Dan Neal

Rylan Clark has opened up about his personal struggles following his divorce from ex-husband Dan Neal three years ago, admitting that he “felt like a failure” at the time

Former X-Factor star Rylan Clark has opened up about the devastating period he went through after his divorce three years ago, revealing he “felt like a failure.” The presenter shot to stardom after defying expectations to reach the X Factor quarter-finals in 2012, before cementing his celebrity status on Celebrity Big Brother.

More recently, his television venture Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour became an instant hit when it launched in 2024, with Rylan becoming visibly emotional after the programme scooped the 2025 British Academy Television Award for Best Factual Entertainment earlier this year.

Despite his ongoing professional triumphs – which include regular appearances co-hosting ITV’s This Morning and presenting BBC Radio 2’s Rylan on Saturday – the star revealed his personal battles during his podcast How to Be in Love whilst speaking with guest Tasha Ghouri about her break up with Andrew Le Page.

He reflected particularly on the difficult period following his split from former husband Dan Neal in 2021 during the candid conversation.

In a raw moment of honesty, Rylan revealed the emotional devastation he experienced when news of their divorce became public: “When I went through my divorce, I had a full-on breakdown because it wasn’t just us. It felt like it wasn’t just us, even though it was just me and my ex. I felt that everyone’s going to think this of me.”

He admitted: “Everyone’s going to think, ‘Oh look, his life isn’t perfect. Oh look, he’s failed like that.’ I just felt like a failure.” Despite sharing his sentiments on the tough split, he conceded that parting ways was the “right thing to happen.”

The love story between Rylan and Dan began quite unexpectedly in 2013 when they crossed paths on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side; Rylan was the host while Dan was competing in the main show.

They got engaged in 2014 and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Braxted Park Estate in Essex, with a guest list that read like a who’s who of celebrities, including Katie Price, Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford, and Matt and Emma Willis.

Sadly, after almost six years of marriage, the couple announced their separation in June 2021. Rylan has been open about the trauma of the divorce, including the emotional pain and physical toll it took on him. He has discussed the period of breakdown in his memoir “TEN: The Decade That Changed My Future”.

Rylan has also addressed speculation about a romantic relationship with Rob Rinder, his co-presenter on the show “Strictly: It Takes Two”. He clarified that they are close friends but not romantically involved, likening their relationship to that of a married couple.

Love Island’s Casey O’Gorman breaks silence on fourth villa stint with telling comment

Reality star Casey O’Gorman has finally broken his silence after speculation that he would enter the villa for a fourth time, dropping a major hint that he could return

Just months after winning All Stars with now-ex Gabby Allen, Casey O’Gorman has broken his silence about whether he would do the show for a fourth time. It’s been reported that the 28-year-old is in talks to take part in spin-off series Love Island Games and now the hunk has addressed the rumours for the first time.

He told The Sun : “I don’t think I’d go back on for £10,000, no. Look, money talks right? So if I’m getting paid £1,000,000 to go back on, I think you’d be stupid not to. That’s not really been a thought of mine to be honest with you.”

Casey and Gabby, 33, won the second series of All Stars back in February but ultimately called time on their relationship three months later.

Their representatives released a statement that read: “After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically.

“This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other.”

Casey shot to fame back in 2023 when he appeared as a contestant on the ninth series of the hit show, but he and love interest Rosie Seabrook fizzled out soon after leaving the villa.

He then returned for the first series of All Stars in 2024, but ultimately was unable to find a love connection on the show.

Runners up Luca Bish and Grace Jackson are the only couple from All Stars series two to still be going strong after leaving the villa.

Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint have appeared to be giving their romance another go, just a week after splitting up last month.

The first series of Love island Games aired on Peacock back in November 2023 and saw various former contestants from different countries competing in challenges.

As well as trying to find love on the show, the islanders would have to compete in physical and mental challenges in order to stay in the villa.

Competing on behalf of the British version were Curtis Pritchard, Toby Aromolaran, Georgia Steel, Megan Barton Hanson and Liberty Poole.

Also taking part were Mike Boateng, Scott Van-der-Sluis, Eyal Booker and eventual winner Jack Fowler, who won with US native Justine Ndiba.

As fans eagerly await the second season of Love Island Games, they can tune into the current 11 th series which is airing on ITV2.

With movie night set to air tonight (July 11), fans have plenty of exciting episodes to watch ahead of the reported final on August 4.
