Megan McKenna slams MasterChef star for calling her a ‘bad mum’ in cruel swipe

TV star Megan McKenna has hit back at MasterChef star Bernice Marie on social media after being publicly criticised for her 11-month-old son Landon not crawling

Megan McKenna has publicly confronted a BBC star who criticised her parenting on social media. The 32-year-old former TOWIE star reacted after MasterChef series 13 contestant Bernice Marie wrote a now-deleted comment claiming Megan was a “bad mum” because her 11-month-old son, Landon, has not yet started crawling.

The reality star, who shares Landon with footballer husband Oliver Burke, addressed the remark in detail on her Instagram Story on Sunday, describing it as “bizarre” and insisting she should not have to justify herself. Megan said: “Do you know what I never come on to just like out people but something these people need to be educated.

“So there is a lady that has just written something on my page about Landon saying that I’m clearly not a good mum because he doesn’t crawl yet and he’s nearly one.”

She explained the natural variation in infant development: “Firstly, crawling can be from seven months to 13 months, some babies don’t even crawl, they just go straight to walking.

“Landon is literally on the verge. He is literally like on his knees and moving, he just hasn’t been able to do the actual moving with the knees. I don’t need to explain myself but he’s obviously 11 months [old].”

Megan also criticised the person making the comments, pointing out the irony of a fellow parent criticising her: “I just find it bizarre that another mum who is proudly stating she’s cabin crew, has kids, has been on TV, and I’m actually going to put her Instagram on my next post.

“I just think this mum-shaming needs to stop because it’s absolutely ridiculous,” she insisted.

Bernice, who left MasterChef in week one of series 13 in 2017, deleted her comment after Megan shared a screenshot.

This is not the first time Megan has faced online criticism since giving birth to Landon last year.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star has shared her parenting journey on Instagram, and trolls have often commented on mundane aspects of her day-to-day life.

Last month, she faced backlash over a video showing her cooking spaghetti with Landon by her side, with one critic writing: “Megan he’s sat in the direct sunlight in that position. Can you not tilt the blinds or something x”

Fans quickly defended her parenting. One follower responded directly to the troll: “Have a day off Trace.”

Megan’s message comes amid wider conversations around mum-shaming on social media, highlighting the pressure public figures face when sharing family life online.

She emphasised that such criticisms are both unwarranted and harmful, especially when they focus on natural differences in child development.

The reality star’s response has sparked support from her followers, who praised her for addressing the criticism firmly while educating others about the normal range of milestones for infants.

Megan remains vocal about defending her parenting choices and using her platform to challenge judgment from strangers online.

Yungblud relieved to have avoided the ’27 club’ as he reflects on wild past

Yungblud, real name Dom, has opened up about his wild past and how he’s relieved to have avoided the 27 club after turning 28 this year

Musician Yungblud is relieved he managed to dodge joining the deadly 27 Club and marked the milestone with Aerosmith whilst paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. The Doncaster lad, whose real name is Dom, raised eyebrows when he rocked up to the MTV VMAs on Sunday topless and looking rather manic.

Yet Dom – who celebrated his 28th birthday this year – put any worries about his wellbeing to rest and voiced his gratitude at avoiding the fate of tragic icons like Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain who died at 27. Dom said: “I made it through the 27 Club, thank f***!”

“Hitting 27, I was like ‘alright I’ve messed around with everything now, I think I just wanna make rock forever, I mean maybe I won’t, whatever the f***. But I went back to my fundamentals from like a two-year-old to 13.”

The performer teamed up with Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and Steve Tyler for an Ozzy tribute medley featuring Crazy Train, Mama, I’m Coming Home and Changes, a track that has transformed his existence permanently, reports the Daily Star.

“I just feel indebted and I’ve gotta sing that song for the rest of my life, every night, forever,” he pledged.

Honouring the Prince of Darkness by sporting a necklace he presented to him, Dom gushed about his idol: “You gave me something, let alone you have me hope through my f****** life and as a fan and as a music fan but you literally gave me a magic wand when you let me do that.

“And then you left us, it’s just mad. I just love him, and I am grateful to that family and her and him, especially her (Sharon), as she’s just the f****** boss.”

Dom recalled the heart-wrenching moment he learned of Ozzy’s death, saying: “I went to the Bahamas and I heard that he wasn’t well and so I texted him from the Bahamas, I was like ‘I hope you’re alright Oz’ and two days later I had 50 missed calls on my phone.

“I was like ‘what the f***’ and then he wasn’t here any more.”

The emotional tribute continued as Jack Osbourne and four of Ozzy’s grandkids paid their respects to the late rock legend.

Surrounded by Pearl Clementine, (13), Andy Rose, (10), Minnie Theodora (7), and Maple (3), Jack expressed his gratitude to MTV for honouring his dad’s life: “I know for sure it would make him incredibly happy to see these great musicians carry on his legacy and help inspire the next generation of rockers. We love you, dad.”

Echoing their grandfather’s words, the grandchildren chimed in: “In the words of our papa, ‘Let’s go crazy!'”.

Oasis could release new album as Noel and Liam ‘forget why they are arguing’

Oasis have reunited for a series of massive gigs and the band’s photographer Kevin Cummins reckons the end of the tour is not the end for the iconic band

A fresh Oasis album is definitely maybe on the horizon following Noel and Liam Gallagher’s blockbuster reunion shows. The band’s photographer Kevin Cummins has disclosed that Noel has been penning tracks whilst on tour and Liam has dialled back his “frontman ego”.

He said: “I don’t see why they couldn’t get in the studio and record a new album. Noel is writing songs all the time, and Liam’s voice is well suited to what Noel writes. Liam’s voice is better than it was. It’s got more maturity, more depth to it. Noel is a great guitarist, and sometimes he’s just looking at Liam thinking ‘He’s fantastic’.

“He kind of forgets that he’s on stage with him. Liam’s matured a lot. He’s quite self-deprecating. There’s a lot of fondness on stage between them,” he added.

He also revealed there had been no sign of the “resentment” between the siblings on tour that led to a backstage row in Paris in 2009.

And he believes the conclusion of the tour in November was “not the end” for the group. The 72-year-old added: “Next year there’s a documentary about them getting back together. So while that’s showing and people have still got the bug of Oasis in them they could be in the studio.”

Should his forecasts prove accurate, it would mark the first Oasis studio album for 17 years. The snapper is championing his book Oasis: The Masterplan, showcasing his photographs of the band he has captured since the early 90s.

It comes as the Gallagher brothers are set for another reunion after their epic tour – at the comeback fight of boxing hero Ricky Hatton.

The ‘Hitman’ takes to the ring again against ‘Arabian Warrior’ Eisa Al Dah, 46, in December, 13 years after his last professional bout. Noel and Liam Gallagher are being lined up for a repeat of their appearance at Hatton’s 2008 fight in Las Vegas.

The duo famously carried his world title belts into the ring before Hatton defeated Italian-American Paulie Malignaggi. The former light welterweight and welterweight world champion could yet have the rock duo by his side again.

“They are friends and he still sees Noel at Man City games,” said a source. “They would like to go and Oasis will have finished their tour by then. So it all depends on whether they do any more gigs.” The last date of the Oasis ’25 world tour is November 23 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The brothers accompanied their hero into the ring in Vegas 17 years ago. Hatton recalled: “You could see they were both a bit nervous, obviously they had never walked a fighter out before. They asked, ‘What do I do, Rick, what do we do?’. I said, ‘Get in the ring and hold it up and put it in Malignaggi’s face’.

“So Noel got in, I got in, then Liam. Liam then came straight past me, right past Noel, and went straight to Malignaggi and said something like: ‘What do you think about that d***head?’, shoving the belt in his face.

“I thought, ‘That’s not quite what I meant, Liam’.” Hatton’s comeback bout will be held over eight three-minute rounds.

Prince Harry set to make huge announcement on UK visit without Meghan Markle

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has already set tongues wagging during his bombshell four-day trip to the UK, and is set to make a startlingly generous gesture

Prince Harry’s four-day trip to the UK has already caused quite the stir, and it appears he set to make a major announcement while here.

The Duke of Sussex landed on British soil this morning, having flown over from California solo, without his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, or their two young children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

Montecito-based Harry, 40, rarely journeys across the Atlantic to the country of his birth, with tensions still very much fraught between the Sussexes and the rest of the British Royal Family. On this occasion, however, Harry was in London on a purpose very close to his heart, the WellChild Awards.

Harry, who is a Wellchild patron, attended the very special event this evening, which celebrates the achievements and resilience of seriously ill youngsters and their families. And this isn’t the only good deed he’ll be getting up to during his flying visit on this side of the pond.

Over the course of just four days, the Duke will partake in various charity-focused duties, including an informal meet with Children in Need. And it’s understood the generous prince has given a eye-popping donation to the charity, which supports disadvantaged children across the UK.

Earlier today, after arriving in the UK, Harry prioritised visiting his grandmother’s grave in Windsor, where he was seen paying his respects privately inside St George’s Chapel, where he laid a wreath and some flowers.

It’s been rumoured that this brief trip could well see Harry reunite with his father, King Charles, with a long-awaited meeting understood to be a possibility.

A source told the Daily Mail: “A meeting with Charles is not off the table, but the only people who would know about it are Clive Alderton [the King’s private secretary] and Charles and Harry. If anything is planned, then he is keeping this extremely close to his chest. It certainly is part of his intention to see his father. If it’s on Wednesday, then he would make it work.”

However, it’s understood to be a different story entirely when it comes to Harry’s relationship with his brother Prince William, with the pair understood not to be on speaking terms.

This is despite the siblings having been in close proximity today. Indeed, Harry was just a few short miles away from his brother while visiting the late Queen’s grave.

While Harry was laying his flowers, Prince William and his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales, were just on the other side of Windsor Great Park, where they were meeting with WI members as part of a sweet tribute to the beloved grandmother and monarch.

Olivia Attwood fights back over marriage saying ‘Brad’s not perfect’

Olivia Attwood has admitted that her marriage to Bradley Dack “isn’t perfect” after hitting headlines last week for a boozy Ibiza trip with close pal Pete Wicks.

Olivia Attwood is used to putting terrible partners through their paces, whether she’s standing her ground in the Love Island villa or correcting unfaithful contestants on Bad Boyfriends . However, the now-married star, 34, admits she’s the one who’s been in trouble with her husband Bradley Dack after a recent Ibiza trip.

“I am wild and I do go to Ibiza every year,” she says. “I let my hair down and I do get told off by my husband and I’m honest about that. “I’m not alone in that. The difference is that other people in our industry just wouldn’t be honest to say that. That is just what happens. I’m just not perfect, Brad’s not perfect, but we make it work.”

Earlier this month, the presenter was spotted looking cosy with her KISS FM co-host Pete Wicks while on the holiday. The pair made headlines when the former TOWIE star was seen with his arm around Olivia’s waist as they partied with friends on a yacht trip. But after seven years in the spotlight, happily married Olivia is used to dealing with rumours.

“I think it’s going to be expected when you have two straight people working together,” she says. “It happened when I first joined TOWIE and Pete and I became very close. We spent a lot of time together. There was a rumour mill spinning back then and I expect it. I honestly do know that the way I am with the press and how I survive in my career is that I just don’t deep it that much. Unless it was something really bad that someone was saying about me, I don’t get too invested.”

Olivia has previously admitted that she signed up for Love Island as “a very public revenge” after discovering Bradley had been cheating on her. She left the show with Chris Hughes, but when they eventually split after seven months, she rekindled her romance with Bradley and they married in 2023.

Having reformed a bad boyfriend of her own, Olivia is ready to help a new cast of exasperated partners to train their significant others – although it’s proven to be a challenge in series two of her ITV2 show. “These boyfriends make the last series’ boyfriends look positively vanilla,” she says. “They are a lot naughtier. With a second series, you can become a bit braver and there’s a lot more depth. We explore the reasons for people’s behaviour on a much deeper level. It’s very funny in part and it’s very emotional.”

On the show, Olivia lures eight men to a paradise island under the illusion that they’re taking part in new reality show Hot Shots , on which they will compete to see who is the biggest party animal. After a night on the town, the men are confronted by their long-suffering girlfriends and revealed to actually be on Bad Boyfriends .

From serial cheaters to one man who spent his girlfriend’s birthday at a strip club, Olivia had her work cut out. “Some of the things that come out of the boys’ mouths, I’m like, ‘What the hell are you thinking?’” she says. “I’m firm with them and I don’t take any s**t. You can’t bulls**t a bulls**tter because I’ve been there, done that, got the T-shirt. But I also feel protective because once we reveal the fake show, all those boys have to be reconciled to agree to stay on the actual show, which is Bad Boyfriends , which is scary and not what they expected.”

Olivia adds that she sets out to help the boyfriends “evolve” throughout the show. “I think by berating someone or belittling them or just having a go, you’re not going to get the best out of them,” she says. “They’re going to go, ‘Do you know what? F this, I’m off.’ And that’s not what we want at all.”

Olivia channelled the late Caroline Flack when hosting the show after her experience on Love Island in 2017. “I always want to check in with the contestants off-camera because I know what they feel like,” she says. “I’ve been a contributor more than once and as much as people like to roll their eyes at reality TV, it is a very brave thing to do. It’s scary. You don’t have your phone, you don’t know any of these people, you’re putting trust in a production company. I was this absolute gobs***e on Love Island , but underneath I was a bit nervous. I remembered the way Caroline was with us, I will never forget that ever. It’s always what I wanted to be like if I was ever lucky enough to get into the position that I am now in.”

With all the drama on the show, Olivia says it makes her glad to be in her thirties. “When I’m speaking, especially to the younger girls, I can’t wait for them to get to a stage in their life where I am,” she says. “I’m so happy to be in my thirties and know what I want from life and know what I will and won’t accept. I was really lost in my twenties and I didn’t know who I was, what I wanted. I didn’t date the right people because how can you if you don’t know what you want?”

Since her Love Island days, Olivia has gone on to land huge presenting roles, including one on ITV ’s This Morning over the summer. “I loved it and luckily they loved me, which was all I was worried about,” she says. “From their side and our side, we’d like it to be a repeat thing, but now it’s going back into regular scheduling with Cat and Ben so it’s more to say where and when I could pop back in.”

With Bad Boyfriends covered, can we expect a Bad Girlfriends spin-off in the near future? “Yeah and I think I’d star in it!” Olivia laughs.

EastEnders fans livid as Jay’s ‘last scene’ revealed after Jamie Borthwick exit

It was announced over the weekend that Jamie Borthwick won’t be returning to EastEnders and fans have since reacted to a scene that is thought to be his character Jay Brown’s last

EastEnders fans have reacted to the apparent final scenes of the character Jay Brown. It comes following the news over the weekend that actor Jamie Borthwick, who’s been in the role for 19 years, has beeen ‘axed’ from the show.

Jamie, 31, has played Jay on the BBC show since he joined the cast in 2006. He was suspended earlier this year for using an offensive term whilst on Strictly Come Dancing last year, but he was rumoured to be returning this month.

The Mirror however revealed on Saturday that Jamie won’t be returning to EastEnders. BBC Studios, which makes the long-running show, confirmed his departure in a statement.

The RadioTimes has since suggested that his final scenes have already aired on the show. It’s thought that they were broadcast on August 19, with EastEnders fans having been reacting to the prospect in posts on social media.

That episode saw Jay and step-daughter Lexi Pearce (played by Isabella Brown) turn up outside the café. They joined her grandfather Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) who were already in a conversation there.

Jay was seen talking about chickens brought onto Albert Square by Nigel’s wife Julie Bates (Karen Henthorn) upon her arrival. The character was then seen tying one of Lexi’s shoelaces as Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) watched.

Speaking about the chickens, Jay said: “Are they gonna be permanent? Only that cockerel’s a bit …” Phil replied: “Listen, chickens come with Nigel’s wife, so they stay here as long as she does.” Moments later, Jay is heard saying: “Lex, your lace is undone.” He then helps tie her lace up on the street.

It’s believed to be the final scene featuring Jay. Some fans have reacted, with one writing alongside a video of the shoelace scene, which had the show’s credits added to the end, on X: “The fact this is Jay’s last scene after 19 years.” Someone replied: “Unbelievable.” Another said: “It can’t be.”

Over a video of the chicken conversation and the shoelace scene, someone wrote: “This best not have been Jay’s last scene. I’m sure he’s filmed more scenes but he deserves an exit.” The TikTok user who shared it added: “I’ll cry.” Another account shared a version with a teary-eyed emoji over it.

Jamie’s departure was confirmed by BBC Studios recently. In a statement to the Mirror, it said last week: “We can confirm that Jamie Borthwick will not be returning to EastEnders. We do not comment on individual matters.”

It comes after he was suspended in June for using an offensive term for people with disabilities to describe residents of Blackpool whilst filming Strictly. The BBC said at the time that his language, reportedly caught in a video on a phone, was “entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect”.

Jamie apologised after making the slur, saying in a statement shared by the Sun at the time: “I want to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to making it through Blackpool week on Strictly. I am deeply sorry for any offence and upset my words and actions have caused. It is no excuse, but I did not fully understand the derogatory term I used and its meaning. That is on me completely. Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did. It was wrong.”

He added: “When I made the video, I was excited and caught up in the moment. Again, that is no excuse. But my regrettable actions are not a true reflection of my views, or who I am. I enjoyed every minute of my time in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and the town itself. The people of Blackpool have always been amazing with the Strictly crew, dancers and cast members. I know they will be again for this year’s show and those in years to come. I am truly sorry.”

He sparked criticism over the situation, including from the disability charity Scope. It said on X, following the news of his suspension: “Attitudes and language like this are never acceptable. We’re pleased to see that the team at the BBC have taken this incident so seriously. We hope Mr Borthwick takes this opportunity to get to know the reality of disabled people’s lives.”
