Cheryl issues advice to fans amid revealing she brushed off warning earlier in career

Girls Aloud star Cheryl looked back at her career in a video promoting Nivea recently, in which she shared that she had once not paid much attention to some advice she received

A message for the younger generation has been shared by Cheryl, who has revealed that she ignored advice given to her years ago. She spoke about the guidance she’d received whilst reflecting on moments from earlier in her career.

Cheryl, now 42, rose to fame on Popstars: The Rivals back in 2002, which led to the formation of Girls Aloud. She’s continued to perform alongside her bandmates in the years since then, as well as having enjoyed success as a solo artist.

The former X Factor judge looked back at three moments from her career recently, including one from 2012, and said that she hadn’t listened to a warning she was given at the time. She’s now issued the same advice to younger fans.

She took a “trip down memory lane” to promote skincare brand Nivea. Cheryl was announced as the face of its new Cellular Epigenetics Age Rewind Serum last month and fronts the campaign, which has marked her TV comeback following her late former partner Liam Payne’s death.

In a video promoting the product, which was shared a few days ago on Instagram, Cheryl “looks back at her skin journey through the years”. She’s seen going through a photo album, with her then reflecting on each of the entries.

The first photo in the album showed Cheryl towards the start of her career. She said about it: “Okay, wow! What do we have here? What do I see? I see a lot of youth and innocence maybe here. On the skin as well as in the eyes.

“Before I joined Girls Aloud, I never used to wear foundation. I don’t think I really paid much attention to the skin in general because I never had to. But the stage makeup, the long nights, long days, probably a bit dehydrated. Everything plays a part.”

She then mentioned bandmate Kimberley Walsh, saying: “So [she] had a lot of tips when I first joined the group. She always had [a] lovely foundation base. She always had really nice skin and I learned a lot from her. Actually, funnily enough, we all used to wear the thick blue Nivea cream.”

Cheryl was then shown a photo of herself on her A Million Lights solo tour in 2012. She reacted: “Oh! This was a good period of time for me – enjoying being on stage and enjoying what I do. But, yeah the makeup and the skin … my poor, poor skin. The worst of it is that I didn’t do anything to rectify it, really.”

She continued by saying that she hadn’t taken advice from older women seriously at the time. She said: “I did have older women around that would say ‘make sure you take care of your skin now. Y’know you’ll thank yourself when you get older and make sure you wear your SPF’. And you’re like ‘yeah yeah’. You hear it but you don’t listen.”

Cheryl then issued a message for fans in the video. She told viewers: “I promise you, to the younger generation and the young women out there now, taking care of your skin now, you will thank yourself as you get older.”

The final photo showed Cheryl performing at Mighty Hoopla festival in 2021. She said: “Aww, here we are. I love this. This actually isn’t that long ago. Maybe … it’s maybe three years ago? At a performance in Mighty Hoopla.”

She added: “And yeah, you can see by now that I’ve started to take notice of all the data and the science we have to prove the different stresses that can affect your skin. By this era, I’ve definitely started taking care of the skin and based on the science.”

Cheryl concluded by saying: “It was really nice to take a little trip down memory lane. I always like to look back on the old photos just to see how far I’ve come personally, spiritually and epigenetically. It’s been a long road.”

Strictly’s Dianne Buswell teases engagement rumours with boyfriend Joe Sugg

Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell and her boyfriend Joe Sugg have been together since 2018, and fans are convinced she’s now given him a public engagement nudge

Strictly Come Dancing’s professional dancer Dianne Buswell, who won the series last year with Chris McCausland, has sparked engagement rumours with her long-term boyfriend Joe Sugg after dropping what fans believe to be a public engagement hint on social media.

The Strictly star first crossed paths with YouTube sensation Joe Sugg when they were paired up together on the dance show in 2018. Despite being bombarded with dating speculations throughout their time on the programme, it wasn’t until they secured second place in the finale they officially confirmed their relationship. Since then, followers have been treated to glimpses of their life together on social media.

This has included trips to Australia to visit Dianne’s family, as well as spending quality time with Joe’s sister, fellow YouTube star Zoe Sugg, and her two daughters, while also sharing snippets of them dancing together.

The couple recently revealed their move to a lavish £3.5 million mansion in West Sussex in 2023, after admitting their previous residence required too much work when living there for two and a half years.

Despite owning two luxurious properties together, fans are increasingly eager to know if wedding bells are in the future for the pair, especially as they’ve both hinted at wanting children in the coming years.

In a recent TikTok post, Dianne decided to address the engagement speculation head-on, leading fans to believe she was publicly nudging Joe towards a proposal.

Content cannot be displayed without consent

In the clip, Dianne is seen sitting in the back of a car, staring directly into the camera as music plays. Suddenly, some familiar lyrics can be heard.

“If it hadn’t been for Cotton Eye’d Joe, I’d been married a long time ago. Where did you come from, where did you go?” the singer croons as Dianne lifts her left hand to reveal an absence of engagement and wedding rings.

Strictly fans will instantly recognise ‘Cotton Eyed Joe’ as the tune that accompanied Joe and Dianne’s first dance together on the show – a lively Charleston.

The duo reprised the performance during the finale. Throughout their relationship, Dianne has often referred to the song when discussing her partner.

The comments section of Dianne’s video was soon flooded with speculation, with many wondering if the clip was a playful jab at Joe for not having popped the question yet.

“I feel like you’re trying to tell us something here,” one viewer remarked, while another quipped: “Take the hint Joseph.”

“This is so iconic,” another fan gushed, with several other fans also dubbing Dianne ‘iconic’ for her post.

Hollywood bosses are reportedly in a bidding war to create a biopic movie about music legend David Bowie, which promises to give a detailed look into his life, including his raunchy private life and launch into fame.

Suzi Ronson, the wife of Mick Ronson who was Bowie’s right-hand man, has revealed her autobiography is being turned into a huge big-budget movie. The book, Me And Mr Jones: My Life With David Bowie And The Spiders From Mars came out last year, and now Suzi is hoping it will be a ‘great movie’.

During a talk at the first Ziggyfest Bowie fan event, Suzi said she was excited about seeing who won the rights for the movie. She said: “The book has now been auctioned to be made into a major motion picture. It hasn’t been bought but we are hoping it will be soon, and it will be a great movie about the Ziggy Stardust days and his rise to fame.”

The movie is also set to include her one-night stand with the superstar, which happened while he was still married to his first wife, Angie. She told The Sun: “The bedroom at his home was pink with a gold ceiling. Everybody thought he was so gay. I was curious about him. I think Angie set me up.”

She added: “I went to do her hair on a Wednesday and she said: ‘I have got to look fabulous. I am going on a date tonight.’ David called me and said: ‘Why don’t you come over and do my hair?’ So I went up to London, had a great meal, and he kind of seduced me. David used to mark his territory. He was definitely flamboyant in that regard.”

Suzi, best known for creating David Bowie’s iconic Ziggy Stardust look, revealed the secrets behind the transformation as she said: “I used to do David’s mum’s hair and I got introduced to Angie to cut David’s hair off. I never thought I would be talking about him 52 years later.”

Revealing how the orange spiked hair came about, she said: “He showed me a photo of a girl with spiky hair and said, ‘Can you do that?’ I thought, ‘This is a girl’s hairstyle. I didn’t have the dye. No one had products in those days. So I went away and found the colour and used this anti-dandruff treatment called Guard, and it set hair like stone.”

‘Game changer’ viral gel-cream moisturiser that reduces wrinkles in seven days

This US skincare brand has just launched in the UK, and one product in particular is already proving popular: a lightweight moisturiser with impressive wrinkle-reducing results

Lots of products promise to miraculously reduce wrinkles, however it can be hard to know which ones are really worth buying – but we’ve found a newly launched lightweight moisturiser with impressive clinical results, before-and-after photos and customer reviews all praising its skin-enhancing benefits.

Viral US skincare brand INNBEAUTY Project recently launched over here in the UK in Sephora stores and on the Sephora website, much to the joy of beauty fans, and one product in particular has grabbed our attention for its non-greasy texture and noticeable results: its Recharge Gel Cream.

In the brand’s tests, 100% of users saw a significant decrease in wrinkles after seven days of using this, and it’s clinically proven to deeply hydrate skin by 53% after just one application.

Now available in the UK(Image: Sephora)

INNBEAUTY Project’s Recharge Gel Cream, priced at £49, is a hydrating moisturiser containing a combination of smart ingredients: orchid stem cells, peptides and a plant-derived retinol alternative. Together these work to target fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture, dullness and loss of firmness, in apparently as little as one week.

And it’s not just INNBEAUTY Project that’s saying this – this cream has dozens of five-star reviews on the Sephora website, praising its results on the skin:

“I am loving this Recharge Smoothing & Plumping Moisturizer!” one person wrote. “I’ve been using it for about a week now and am already seeing some nice results, specifically on my forehead. It’s visibly reducing the look of my fine lines and makes my skin look more supple. I can’t wait to see how my skin looks after continued use.”

“This moisturizer is such a gem!” another agreed. “The texture feels silky and lightweight, but it gives my skin deep hydration that lasts all day. I love that it sinks in quickly without leaving a greasy or sticky layer—perfect under make-up or on its own. My skin looks plump, smooth, and has a nice healthy glow after using it consistently.”

“I’ve been using the Recharge Plumping Gel Cream and I’m honestly impressed,” a third echoes. “It feels super refreshing, hydrates right away, and makes my skin look smoother and more radiant. Within a week, I noticed my fine lines were softer and my skin barrier felt stronger.”

Some, however, weren’t so keen on the packaging: “The only this I don’t like about this product is the packaging,” one comment reads. “It’s way too big and bulky for 50ml that we’re getting.”

Got drier skin and after a richer alternative? Beauty buffs may have found just that with this Elizabeth Grant Collagen Re-Inforce 3D Advanced Face Lift Night Cream, which has shoppers exclaiming, “Everyone thinks I’ve had Botox.”

Beyoncé and Jay-Z set to transform tiny Cotswold village with mega-estate

The Cotswolds are about to be shaken up as Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s plans for a mega-estate progress

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are putting down roots in the UK

The Cotswolds have a reputation for quaint, sleepy villages, far removed from the hustle and bustle of cities. But, thanks to power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, that could all change.

It’s been reported that the couple are in the final stages of purchasing land with the intent to build a ‘mega-estate’ on the edge of Wigginton, an Oxfordshire village which currently boasts a population under 200, no shop and no pub.

Beyoncé, 44, and Jay-Z, 55, are estimated to be the world’s richest couple and have secured planning permission to build on a 58-acre plot just outside the village. Designs show they plan to eventually have a seven bedroom, nine bathroom mansion there.

While the Carters would no doubt be two of the most-high profile people to move to the area, they are far from the only celebs to pick The Cotswolds as an area to relocate to.

The Beckhams have set up home not far from where the Carters plan to live, as has Kate Moss, while Ellen DeGeneres is also rumoured to have bought a £15million Cotswolds farmhouse.

It seems the quiet nature of the Cotswolds has been a draw for many celebrities. Though, for local residents, the allure it has for celebrities isn’t necessarily a positive.

Speaking to The Times, an employee of The Falkland Arms in Great Tew, where the Beckhams live, said: “We love our local clientele and we don’t want the couple’s arrival to bring in a different sort.”

The sleepiness of the Cotswolds isn’t the only thing that has drawn Beyoncé and her husband to the area though. Or, more accurately, its not the only thing that’s drawn them away from Los Angeles.

The couple reportedly began searching for new places to live during the LA wildfires earlier this year, which is estimated to have resulted in the deaths of anywhere between 31 and 440 people.

They are still expected to maintain LA as their primary base of operations, as a source said the the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential: “They will always be based in LA.

“But the UK is on the agenda,” they added. “Beyoncé loves the UK because they support everything she does.”

Ringo Starr admits he hasn’t watched the new Beatles Anthology episode

The drummer and Beatles legend is back out on tour with his All Starr Band heading around America

Ringo with his All Starr Band getting ready to hit the road again

Ringo Starr has admitted he has not yet watched the new ninth Beatles anthology programme coming out on Disney+ in November 26 – he’s been too busy making new music.

The Beatles legend, 85, heads out on the road again this week with his All Star Band and speaking from rehearsals, he said: “I think the new version of the anthology that’s coming out is great, but I haven’t seen Episode 9, so I can’t tell you anything about it. It’s gonna be a surprise to me, too.”

Ringo also confirmed rumours he has just finished a new album in the studio, his second country LP in a row and third of his career. He is again working with top producer T Bone Burnett. Look Up was Ringo’s acclaimed Country album with T Bone released in January which garnered him his first UK number 1 and saw him chart in the Top 10 on numerous Billboard Charts.

On the follow up drummer RIngo said: “I loved making the record, and T-Bone is great, and musical, and he just knows his stuff, and it was very easy, you know, he made it easy for me. So I’ve just finished my part in, another country album.

“I love country music, so there’s no problems with it. I’ve written two songs on the next one, and we do a cover of a Carl Perkins song. My first recordings with the Beatles were Carl Perkins songs. I love Carl.

Ringo also has a new art exhibition he will visit in Vegas when he plays at the Venetian this month. It contains giant 8 foot by 10 foot paintings he created by spinning the canvas and throwing paint, a style once adopted by Damien Hirst. Ringo said: “I’ve been doing spin art, because I saw the guys on the computer and there were, like, two kids they had this canvas and then they attach it to a household drill. And it was like, wow! Of course.

“I didn’t go that way. I’ve got a great machine that spins it round. And we started with 10x8s feet.

“Biggies, and yeah, it’s something else I do, you know? I love it, and I do it at home.”

Ringo was speaking from the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee where he has been rehearsing with bandmates Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Hamish Stuart, Warren Ham, Buck Johnson and Gregg Bissonette. They make up Ringo & His All Starr Band who are now on tour, which kicks off tonight (September 10) at the Chicago Theatre before heading out around America including two residencies in Las Vegas.

Ringo also has the art exhibition at Animazing Art Gallery from September-October 15 in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian Resort Las Vegas, his first show since 2019.

The Beatles’ landmark ‘Anthology’ TV series and albums from 30 years ago have been restored and remastered and will be available for fans around the world in November – with extra unseen footage.

Disney+ announced The Anthology, originally shown on ITV in 1995 and also released as a three part music collection, will now return in its “ultimate form”.

On screen it will become a nine part series, as well as a four volume music collection, and in print there will be a new book.

The Anthology featured John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr candidly telling their own story, with all its complexities and contradictions with new interviews from three of the fab four, with Lennon having died in 1980.

It traces the legendary journey that began in Liverpool and Hamburg and soon captivated the world. Rare archival footage of their live performances and rehearsals also featured in the series.

And it introduced The Beatles to new generations of viewers and listeners and marked the start of a creative and commercial afterlife that continues to this day.

There is now a completely new Episode Nine, including unseen behind-the-scenes footage of Paul, George and Ringo coming together between 1994 and 1995 to work on “The Anthology” and reflecting on their shared life as The Beatles.
