Supermarket hack gets you a viral Revlon hair multi-styler for £45 instead of £80

The Revlon multi styler hair tool makes a great gift for beauty lovers this Christmas, and now supermarket shoppers can get their hands on it with almost 50% off with a clever hack

If you’re trying to think of the perfect gift to get beauty fans this Christmas, then a hair styling tool is always a winner, especially when it’s a tool that does it all. Revlon’s One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Air Styler 5-in-1 is the perfect budget-friendly choice that comes with five attachments to blow dry, curl, straighten and smooth hair.

Although it’s usually priced at £80, making it considerably cheaper than big brands like Shark or Dyson, shoppers can currently get it for even less at one major supermarket. Tesco shoppers who have a Clubcard can currently pick it up for just £45, saving almost 50% on the usual price and making it an even more affordable pick.

To get the Revlon styler at the discounted price, Tesco shoppers just need to sign up for the supermarket’s free Clubcard, then use it to save money on the multi styler. There’s no word on how long the discount will last, though, so you’ll need to be quick to snap it up.

If you happen to miss out on the offer, there are still other places you can pick up the hair tool at a discounted price. At Boots, the One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Air Styler 5-in-1 is permanently priced at £69.99, making it one of the cheaper places to find the air styler all year round.

However at Amazon right now, The Revlon 5-in-1 Multi Air Styler is pricedat £54.99 down from £79.99. It’s still not quite as cheap as the Tesco offer, but it’s a great option if you can’t pick up the styler at your local supermarket.

If you are looking for one that has a few more styling options, the Beauty Works Aeris Multi-Styler comes with six different attachments including two types of curlers, a smoothing brush and a volumising one to create the perfect blow dry at home. Although it’s a little pricier at £220, LookFantastic has slashed the price down to £176, saving you 20%.

However the Revlon One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Air Styler 5-in-1 is the perfect choice if you’re looking for an affordable gift for a loved one, or want to nab yourself an affordable styling tool ready for the festive party season. It lets you create salon-worthy styles whilst minimising damage on your hair, with a versatile range of attachments that lets you create all kinds of looks.

Boots shoppers also rated the budget-friendly tool, with one saying: “It is so fantastic, it gives my hair proper volume and it has more than one attachments to play with and use so you can curl your hair or blow dry it! You can style it however you want too and it is brilliant!”

Another agreed: “I love this product. I have tried other air stylers before but have had the best results with this one. I love the root drying attachment, I find that really helps when styling to make sure everything is dry enough. I did have to watch a few videos before getting the hang of using the different attachments but was so worth it!”

However some were less pleased, with one rating it three stars and writing: “Lovely little tools for your hair not as light as I thought it would be but for the job the 5 in 1 tools are ah dy for extra bouncy hair and volume I don’t think it’s as good some other on the market.”

Another said: “So very disappointed. I’d seen it on line but now I’ve actually opened the box the attachments are HUGE way too big for my hair. I’ve not even tried to use it and would dearly like to return it but it’s over the 35 days.”

However another loved the One-Step Blow-Dry Multi Air Styler 5-in-1 , saying: “This is a very versatile and effective styler which worked well at giving me smooth hair at whatever style I was looking for. The different attachments were brilliant and easy to use and I couldn’t recommend this product enough.”

Cat Deeley wows in £46 M&S skirt that’s ‘perfect for the Christmas season’

The Marks and Spencer mini skirt – set to be a hit for festive parties – is still in stock but selling fast, according to the retailer

A sparkly skirt hailed as ‘very stylish’ and ‘versatile’ has not only earned the approval of fashion fans at Marks and Spencer, but a thumbs up from one of Britain’s best-dressed TV presenters, too. Cat Deeley appeared on This Morning wearing the retailer’s Tweed Embellished Mini A-Line Skirt, which has already gained praise from wearers who bagged it early.

The black mini skirt is made in a ‘heavy’ tweed fabric that’s giving us all the Chanel vibes, but on a budget. While some of the 49-year-old’s previous outfits have proven costly, this skirt comes in at a reasonable £46.

Hailed as ‘great for the party season’, it’s detailed with pearl and bead embellishment for added sparkle. It’s cut in a flattering A-line shape, with a zip fastening at the back, and due to the nature of the fabric, it’s less likely to crease so means it won’t need ironing, either.

Styled by Rachael Hughes, Cat wore her skirt with a white frilled blouse from Holland Cooper, black opaque tights and patent Mary Jane shoes. It’s giving a crossover between St Trinian’s chic and Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl – a combination we’re absolutely here for.

For a similar look, FatFace has this £49 Mari Black Boucle Skirt with a slightly more subtle sparkle in the form of a metallic thread. Wear on office days with tights and the matching cardigan or to evening drinks with heels and a blouse, this skirt is versatile and easy to wear for all occasions.

Alternatively, for those who believe more is more, River Island is bringing all the glitz to the party with its £36 Black Boucle Tailored Sequin Mini Skirt. Made in a boucle fabric, it boasts sequin embellishment and pearl embellished button detail.

But the M&S skirt has been backed by a number of positive shopper reviews, which prove just how well-loved it is among festive fashion enthusiasts. One said: “Really lovely skirt. One of my favourite skirts ever. Can be dressed up or down and is very versatile.”

“Beautiful skirt which will be perfect for the Christmas season,” said another, adding: “Comes up slightly big. I wish I had sized down although I might be glad of the extra room on Christmas Day.”

While one considered it to be roomy, another suggested it comes up small, noting: “Really lovely skirt, worn it to work and got so many compliments. It does run small though, I am a 10-12 and had to get a 14 and even that’s a bit tight by the end of the day.”

A fourth said: “Literally love this skirt. Great for the party season. Heavy tweed type fabric that hangs really well. Lovely fit. Can’t wait to wear it.” Another penned: “Beautiful and very stylish sparkly skirt all ready for Christmas.”

Another high-street number Cat has worn in recent days is this Brown Belted Jumper Dress from River Island, which we predict will sell out in the coming weeks. A jumper dress is a key wardrobe staple for autumn, offering the perfect mix of warmth, comfort and style as temperatures drop.

Priced at £46, the high-neck, long-sleeve design is ideal for the crisp November weather while offering a sophisticated silhouette. With subtle seam detailing and a flattering mini length, it’s as relaxed as it is refined, making it a great option for nailing Cat’s easy-going yet polished style.

Celebrity Traitors’ Alan Carr reveals health issue that left him ‘unable to do anything’

The TV presenter and Celebrity Traitors finalist Alan Carr opened up about his crippling health battle earlier this year as he revealed the issue left him unable to “do anything”

Celebrity Traitors star Alan Carr has opened up about how he was left completely incapacitated after battling a debilitating health condition last year.

The popular TV host and comic is one of five celebrities who will appear in the finale of the first ever Celebrity Traitors series tonight (Thursday, November 6). He will be joined by former rugby star Joe Marler, actor Nick Mohammed, historian David Olusoga and singer-songwriter Cat Burns.

The star made the candid admission during an appearance on singer (and fellow Celebrity Traitors star) Paloma Faith’s Mad, Sad and Bad podcast earlier this year where he shared details of his issue.

When the 48 year old was quizzed about any concerns regarding getting older, he confessed: “I had sciatica last year and I couldn’t do anything.”

However, staying true to his trademark wit, the funnyman managed to find humour in his health struggles: “When you’re younger, you’re so arrogant, you think people get old for a bet. You think ‘oh look at that man, he’s got a stick for a laugh’.”

He went on to say that his recent bout with sciatica had ‘knocked him for six’, reports Surrey Live.

The NHS explains that sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve, which extends from your lower back down to your feet, becomes irritated or compressed.

The condition typically improves within a few weeks to a few months, though it can persist for longer periods.

Sciatica “usually affects your bottom and the back of one leg, often including your foot and toes”.

Signs of the condition may include a sharp, burning sensation down the back of the leg, tingling, numbness and weakness.

Experts estimate that roughly 40% of the UK population will experience the condition at some stage during their lives.

Alan has become a familiar face on our telly over the past two decades, but his television career really kicked off in 2007 when he hosted his own programme, Alan Carr’s Celebrity Ding Dong, which aired on Channel 4 until 2009.

Following the conclusion of his first eponymous show, Alan bagged another, this time presenting the massively popular Alan Carr: Chatty Man from 2009 until 2016 after filming 16 series. Such was the success of the show, Alan was awarded a BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance in 2013.

‘I was on Strictly and I’m not surprised by married couple kiss – they won’t be the last’

Strictly Come Dancing is facing yet another scandal as reports have claimed there is a video circulating of a married celebrity contestant kissing his dance partner

The hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing has seen many scandals in recent years, and has been rocked by a fresh one, as reports claim that a married celebrity contestant was caught on camera kissing his dance partner. But, one former star isn’t surprised.

James Jordan, who was a professional dancer on the show from 2006 to 2014, said a video of a female pro dancer sitting on the lap of and kissing her married celebrity partner does not shock him, as it’s “not the first time it’s happened”.

He insisted that he isn’t aware of who is involved, but he added that such things have happened before and will happen again. “It’s not the first time it’s happened, and it won’t be the last.”

He told The Sun. “When people are on Strictly, they’re put in a situation where they’re training with people for maybe eight, 10 hours a day, spending sometimes months with each other.

“So if anything’s going to happen, it’s more likely to happen on a show like that because of the intensity, the fact that you’re so close to each other and everything.”

The show is known for the ‘Strictly Curse’ – the name given to relationships, no matter how brief, that start between a celeb contestant and their pro dancer and lead to the break up of a prior relationship.

Some have used the term to talk about the relationship between Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen, as he was married when he started Strictly. It has also been used to refer to the scandal that erupted when Katya Jones and Seann Walsh were seen kissing on a night out, as both of them were in relationships that subsequently ended.

James continued: “It doesn’t make it right, does it? It can obviously damage people’s lives and upset a lot of people, but it doesn’t necessarily come as a shock to me. But I am curious, very curious now who it is.”

The video was supposedly taken backstage at Elstree studios, which is where the show is filmed. A source said: “This incident has been the talk of Strictly in very need-to-know for the past couple of years.

“The video itself shows the famous married family man passionately kissing his female dance pro. She is sitting on his knee, and he has his hand on her back before leaning in for a kiss. The kiss only lasts a few seconds but it would more than likely end his marriage and destroy his carefully cultivated family man image.”

In recent years, a few scandals have struck Strictly. There was an investigation into the conduct of some of the professional dancers, after Amanda Abbington claimed she was harassed by Giovanni Pernice and Zara McDermott claimed she was bullied and kicked by Graziano di Prima. Both pros are no longer on the show. Strictly was also rocked by scandal when two unnamed stars allegedly used cocaine.

When Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced they would be leaving the show, some wondered if they were pre-empting another scandal, but James has said he does not think this kiss caused them to leave.

“With regards to Tess and Claudia, I don’t think that would be a big enough reason for them to decide to leave the show. I think it would need to be a much bigger story or scandal than that, because it’s happened from the first series, hasn’t it?

“The strictly curse, as everyone calls it, happened from series one, and it’s happened pretty much most years throughout the show’s history.”

Gilson Lavis dead: Squeeze star and Jools Holland drummer dies as icon pays tribute

An iconic drummer who performed in the band Squeeze and with Jools Holland’s band has died. Gilson Lavis died at the age of 74. The news of his death was announced by his musician pal Jools, 67, who paid tribute to him on social media.

Lavis rose to fame in the 1970s as the drummer in the hit rock band Squeeze, known for hits such as Cool for Cats, Up the Junction and Labelled with Love. He joined the band after seeing an advert in the paper.

The band then split in the 1980s, before reforming in 1985 and eventually splitting once again in 1999. Squeeze then sensationally got back together again in 2007 and toured across the UK and US, later releasing two albums, Cradle to the Grave in 2015 and The Knowledge in 2017. He later joined Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra before retiring from drumming last year.

Musician Jools shared the sad news on his Instagram page as he posted a photo of himself alongside Gilson. Jools penned in the caption: “I’m very sad to report that Gilson Lavis my dear friend and long-standing drummer passed away at his home in Lincolnshire last night.

“On behalf of my Orchestra, Squeeze, the many musicians who have worked with and befriended Gilson over the years and all the people he has supported through the AA fellowship, I send our love and sympathy to Nikki and Gilson, his dear wife and son.”

Meanwhile tributes from fans poured in on social media. One wrote: “RIP Gilson and thanks for the music”. Another added: “His contributions to music made my life more worth living. No one can top that. You did well, Gilson.”

And a third said: “Oh so sad to hear. Rest in Peace, Gilson. Thank you for the wonderful music you gave the world.”

Lavis was also a keen artist, having discovered his passion while on the road. Last year, Gilson revealed how he had been trying to retire from music, but struggled to do so.

He told LincsOnline: “I was trying to retire and trying to get out of the business and thought I would live in the country and give some drum lessons.

“The phone went and it was Jools who said he’s got a gig – and I said I’d rather not.

“But I played a charity gig in London, then another and another one and it gradually grew into the Rhythm and Blues Orchestra – and I am still doing it.”

Gilson met his wife Nikki, who founded the Pinchbeck Tappers, while she was working as a PA for Jools Holland.

The drummer leaves behind his wife Nikki and their son, also named Gilson.

Kaleb Cooper kicked customer out of Jeremy Clarkson’s pub during opening night

Jeremy Clarkson has opened a new pub near his Oxfordshire farm and has shared some of the challenges he has faced since he decided to venture into the hospitality industry

Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed that his co-star Kaleb Cooper ejected a patron from his pub, The Farmer’s Dog, on launch day after asking him a single question.

Fans have loved watching Clarkson and Kaleb tackle the many challenges of running Diddly Squat Farm on his acclaimed Amazon Prime programme.

In 2024, the former Grand Tour presenter chose to open a new pub near his Oxfordshire farm.

In his latest book, Diddly Squat: The Farmer’s Dog, the 65-year-old revealed that the establishment had a bumpy start even before its official launch.

Clarkson explained that the finishing touches were hampered by setbacks, red tape, and costly blunders, reports Wales Online.

From deciding whether to fit a defibrillator behind the bar to navigating fire safety rules for a chrome vintage tractor intended to hang from the ceiling, Clarkson admitted the process was full of unforeseen difficulties.

When The Farmer’s Dog finally opened, Clarkson had devised a distinctive approach—an upstairs bar reserved exclusively for agricultural workers.

“Only farmers would be allowed in here,” he declared. “Many had asked how we’d be able to tell. Ha. Because you just can.”

However, that rule was quickly tested.

During the trial opening, a man who looked the part ventured upstairs.

“His wardrobe was pretty convincing,” Clarkson wrote. “But his shoes were wrong.”

Clarkson decided to interrogate him. “I asked him, ‘What’s glyphosate?’ He said, ‘Weedkiller,’ and I let him past. But Kaleb still wasn’t convinced.”

Kaleb, known for his straightforward approach, challenged the alleged farmer with a decisive question: “How many acres are there in a hectare?”

When the man hesitated and guessed, “Er… twelve?”, Kaleb was quick to respond: “Out,” he commanded.

That unlucky guest wasn’t the only mishap of the day. Clarkson revealed that shortly afterward, “the water had run out, the power was flickering again, and cooking had stopped. It was our opening day, and it wasn’t an opening day at all.”

Things have since improved, but Clarkson warned future patrons to manage their expectations. “Your lunch, if it arrives at all, is costing us a lot more than it’s costing you. So please be kind.”

The pub, formerly known as The Windmill, is located in Asthall, near Burford in Oxfordshire, and was reopened by Clarkson on August 23, 2024.

Clarkson stocks his own Hawkstone lager at the venue and aims to source all produce from British farmers.
