Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen admits ‘I cried’ as she owns up to major family mistake

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has opened up about the last time she was brought to tears as she confessed to causing an awkward family moment

Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm favourite Amanda Owen has offered a candid insight into her family life, revealing an awkward blunder that reduced her to “tears”.

Speaking on the Walking the Dog with Emily Dean podcast recently, the presenter questioned Amanda about whether there are occasions when she finds it difficult to suppress her emotions.

The 51-year-old responded frankly, revealing that her most recent bout of “tears” actually came from fits of giggles following a mortifying mix-up at a family celebration: “When did I last cry? I can’t (remember) I probably cry with laughter actually.

” It was probably sometime around about Violet’s birthday, when I got her a birthday card that said, ‘ Happy Birthday, now you’re a teenager’. And she (Violet) said, ‘ that was last year’. “

However, beyond her rather amusing family episode with daughter Violet, Amanda also reflected on the darker periods she has endured in her personal life.

She recalled when her father tragically died when she was just 18-years-old and how it helped her understand that she” wished I’d listened more to what people had to say”.

Amanda and her brood initially appeared on television in 2011 through ITV’s documentary programme, The Dales.

The series featured the shepherdess alongside her family of five youngsters, at the time, and ex-spouse Clive, documenting their experiences managing a farm in the Yorkshire Dales.

While they had a number of other roles, it was in 2018 that the family catapulted to stardom with their own series, Our Yorkshire Farm, on Channel 5.

Over a period of four years, the programme became one of the channel’s most-watched, showcasing Amanda and Clive’s attempts to balance raising their nine children while managing their 2, 000-acre sheep farm.

She recently revealed on her Just As Well, The Women’s Health Podcast that her daughter was experiencing loss of awareness and zoning out. As a result she is now receiving treatment for epilepsy. In a new Instagram Story, Gemma revealed the timeline of her daughter’s health problems. She said: “Morning everyone, Just jumping on to address the recent headlines regarding Mia.

“I was recording an episode of my podcast last month and in a relaxed environment with mates i mentioned her health during a topic we were discussing.

“To put this into context, Mia’s diagnosis was something we dealt with privately almost 18 months ago. This isn’t recent and I’m pleased to say she’s now absolutely fine. She’s thriving and doing everything in life she wants to do.”

She added: “The amount of support and kind messages I’ve received from people has been really lovely, but I don’t want to mislead people into thinking this is our current situation. 18 months ago it was a scary time and to any other families who have been through or are currently going through similar I truly understand how you feel.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel though. Many children grow out of absence seizures, just like Mia has & they can live a very normal life, so stay positive, thanks again for your kind words.”

It comes after Gemma said on the podcast that Mia had ‘absence seizures’ which have ‘gotten so much better’ after a year.

Gemma added that she went down a research “rabbit hole” when she heard the diagnosis. “When I was told that I was like, ‘right I need to research, research, research’ and I went down a rabbit hole.”

A doctor recommended putting Mia on a keto diet. Gemma explained: “The keto diet was designed for patients with epilepsy because it re-wires their brain function. The doctor told me, ‘If you can get her on a keto diet, it could help with brain function’.

“The improvement that we’ve had, I mean we’re constantly monitoring but the last six months she’s had none, touch wood.”

It comes after Gemma claimed on the podcast that Mia had “absence seizures,” which have since improved significantly.

Gemma continued, “When she learned the diagnosis, she went down a research rabbit hole.” When I was told, “Um, I need to research, research, research,” I went down the rabbit hole.

Mia’s doctor suggested trying a ketogenic diet. Epilepsy patients were specifically given the keto diet because it rewires their brains, Gemma said. The doctor advised me that putting her on a ketogenic diet might improve brain function.

“The improvement that we’ve had, I mean, we’re constantly monitoring, but she’s had nothing for the past six months,” she said.

Stacey Solomon ‘scared and heartbroken’ in emotional post on Manchester synagogue attack

Stacey Solomon has issued an emotional statement following the attack on a synagogue in Manchester today that has left two people dead. Police have classed the car attack and stabbing as a terrorism incident.

Five people were injured in the attack and two people were killed. The suspected attacker was shot dead by officers. Greater Manchester Police initially declared the attack a major incident.

However, the Met’s Head of Counter Terrorism Policing, Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor, later confirmed it was being treated as terrorist-related and that two other people had been arrested. A cordon has been placed around the Heaton Park synagogue, where armed police, paramedics, a bomb disposal unit and the fire service remain on scene.

In a post on social media, Stacey said: “It is heartbreaking to hear of the attack at a synagogue in Manchester on Yom Kippur. My thoughts & prayers are with everyone effected.

“I’m also thinking of anyone right now who feels scared for themselves & their loved ones just because of who they are. Being Jewish feels scary & that is heartbreaking.

“It goes without saying, although I’ve said this before, My thoughts are also with the innocent people in Gaza. Being proudly Jewish & being against the horrific attack today does not cancel the other.

“I realise no matter what I say. Someone somewhere won’t like it. But all I really have to say is that none of this is ok.”

Police have confirmed three members of the public who were attacked remain in a “serious” condition in hospital. The Prince and Princess of Wales are among those who have expressed their condolences.

“Our thoughts are with the victims and the families of the terrible attack at Heaton Park Synagogue. The fact that this tragedy occurred on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more shocking,” the royal’s statement said.

“We are thinking of the entire community as well as the emergency responders who attended this terrible incident.” King Charles has issued a statement following the attack at Heaton Park synagogue.

He said: “My wife and I have been deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the horrific attack in Manchester, especially on such a significant day for the Jewish community.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this appalling incident and we greatly appreciate the swift actions of the emergency services.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer will chair an emergency Cobra meeting. He said the attack is “absolutely shocking” and his thoughts are with those affected.

Starmer added: “I’m on my way back to London. When I arrive, I will chair an emergency Cobra meeting. I’m already able to say that additional police assets are being deployed to synagogues across the country, and we will do everything to keep our Jewish community safe.”

‘Indignant Nicole Kidman is innocent in Keith Urban split but has revenge plan’

A body language expert noted that there are differences between Nicole Kidman’s and her husband’s divorce from Tom Cruise in 2001 and her split from Keith Urban.

Nicole Kidman was pictured jumping for joy as she left her attorney’s office when Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman divorced in 2001.

When she broke the news of her divorce from Keith Urban, she cut a different figure in 2025. After three months of living apart, Nicole, 58, discovered that she had filed divorce papers against her 57-year-old husband, a country singer from New Zealand. Keith allegedly broke up with them and left their Nashville home without a trace.

According to sources, the breakdown was “inevitable,” and initially appeared to be peaceful and untangled. Recently, new allegations have emerged that Nicole, who has daughters Faith and Faith together and Keith, was “blindsided” by the development.

Just a day after the breakdown of their marriage came to light, the Australian actress was photographed on a walk with her sister, Antonia, in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday. In photos obtained by Mail Online, Nicole was seen sporting grey and black active wear while donning a cap and sunglasses, as she appeared to “take control and action”, body language expert Judi James told the Mirror.

This is radically different from Nicole’s divorce from Tom Cruise. The actress was photographed leaping up in joy and happiness as she left her lawyer’s office after 11 years of the A-list couple’s union.

Judi compared Nicole’s “announcement” gestures to those in her divorce from Tom Cruise, which both appeared overdone, incongruent, and overtly dramatic. The actress also flung her head back in what appeared to be a rather naive attempt to appear very happy divorcee while her hands were spread out in what appeared to be body language of relief and celebration.

“But her mouth was open and her eyes were forced shut, which appeared to be a pain response, similar to an open-mouthed look and an eye squint that might indicate agony rather than ecstasy. “

The expert continued, “It made her ‘celebration’ appear to be a rather strange and lonely ritual, and it also lacked the quiet, PR-driven dignity that Hollywood is typically known for. “

Judi noted in examining the image of Nicole from her Wednesday outing with her sister that Nicole is “taking control” of her grief and that even though she may be “innocent” in everything, she has a plan for her retaliation. She stated, “Nicole’s present-day rituals after her split from Keith were revealed, do, however, appear to have some fundamental similarities. She has made herself very visible, but this time around, her sister appears to be sharing her thoughts with her.

She indicates that there are many thoughts to share, though. Her extremely upbeat hand gestures appear to be talking about the end of her marriage with some degree of surprise or disbelief rather than a whooping of joy and relief. “

However, she added that the actress has a plan for handling the divorce: “The sportswear and the way she’s striding out here seem to be an important message for Nicole to suggest she’s taking control and taking action rather than sitting indoors crying over a tub of Ben and Jerry’s,” but she went further. Her ‘celebratory’ pose post-Tom, where she spreads her arms out, appears passably similar, but here she has her hands in a palms-up reveal, which suggests she is looking into what transpired and what went wrong.
