It’s been just four days since the New Shepard NS-31 mission on April 14, and the lucky celebrity astronauts are already well aware of criticism aimed against them. Bezos’ partner Lauren Sanchez was the person to fill the limited seats, and opted to bring pop star Katy Perry, CBS News journalist Gayle King, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen for her intergalactic tour.

The highly-publicised celeb trip to the stars naturally incited plenty of criticism, with many people pointing out how the money could be used to help those suffering on solid ground. Speaking after the flight, the celebs blasted any idea that their trip was morally wrong – and said that no one had a right to criticise them unless they’d been to space themselves.

Gayle King – who previously called critics of the journey ‘sexist’ – offered one of the most controversial comments in defence of the trip, asking critics during an interview with Extra: “Have y’all been to space? Have you been to space?

Go to space, or go to Blue Origin, and observe how they behave before returning and saying, “This is a terrible thing. Costs it? Yes. However, one of the things they’re trying to do is that it shouldn’t be that expensive if there are enough people interested.

King reacted in a second blatantly titled, “This is what bothers me, because I’ve certainly read some of the things online – coming from people I know, I like, and I consider friends!”

She later stated, “Your space activities are attempting to improve things here on Earth.” The goal of Blue Origin is to find a way to make our planet cleaner by placing the waste there.

King responded to the official press conference with a similarly passionate defense of the star-studded journey by saying, “I feel anyone that’s criticizing doesn’t really understand what’s happening here.

Sanchez quickly accepted the microphone, who re-entered Bezos’ website despite the cost and exclusivity of doing so. She says, “I get really excited about this because I would love to have them visit Blue Origin.”

“See the thousands of employees who put their heart and soul into this vehicle instead of just working here.” Rocket scientists, engineers, and anyone else involved. They are passionate about both their work and their mission. And since it’s such a big deal for them, I simply say, “Truth me, come with me, and I’ll show you what it’s about” whenever I hear comments like that. And it’s incredibly eye-opening.”

While King and Sanchez’s solution to the backlash seems to be getting us all spending millions on going to space despite the current economic crisis, Katy Perry is said to be having some regrets behind the scenes. A source said: “Katy doesn’t regret going to space . It was life changing. What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it.”

The star led the charge in making media-friendly moments out of the trip, including talking off her plans to make space “glam” and “put the ‘a**’ in astronaut,” alongside stealing the show by singing at zero gravity and linking her upcoming tour to the trip, but now wishes she’d kept her head down a little bit more.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans made it clear that the celeb crew had missed the mark with their statements after the journey. “Have you been? To space? Lady people can’t afford homes ON EARTH!” one person summarised.

Pop star Chesney Hawkes has been married to Krissy since 1997 and as we catch up with his wife – as well as their 21-year-old daughter, student Jesse – it’s clear they couldn’t be prouder of the One And Only singer, who is also dad to Casey, 23, and Indi, 19.

Here, Krissy and Jesse talk about what fans would be surprised to know about 53-year-old Chesney and what Krissy really makes of his saucy confession to housemates that they had once been in a sex club where he was whipped by “a very muscly butch guy in a thong” – and then by her!

So, what’s it been like watching Chesney in the Celebrity Big Brother house?

Krissy: Chesney is Chesney. What you see is what you get.

Jesse: He really is just himself.

What would surprise people most about him behind closed doors?

Jesse: Definitely how clumsy he is.

Krissy: My mum actually bought us these “unbreakable” plates from the States, but Chesney still manages to break them regularly. There’s also a classic story in our family, from when we got married in Indiana. We were playing wiffle ball in the backyard, Chesney ran to catch a

ball, looking up at the sky and crashed right into a tree – snapped it clean. From that day, he was nicknamed Tree Breaker.

Jesse, you were there when he entered the house. What was that experience like?

Jesse: Surreal. I’m at uni so I don’t see him that often. Seeing him walk up that stage was very emotional.

What did you think when he said he was doing the show?

Krissy: It was definitely a surprise. But one thing about Chesney is that he loves a challenge. Also, a close friend of his who passed away in January had told him, “Just say yes to things,” and that really inspired him to go for it.

Jesse: He was unsure at first, then he really went for it. I was proud of him for saying yes to something so out of his comfort zone.

Has anything surprised you about what he’s up to so far?

Krissy: The dad dancing. I always say he’s an amazing singer – but dancing is not his strong suit.

Jesse: Yeah, very much “dad dance” vibes.

Let’s talk about Chesney stripping naked for TV…

Jesse: Good for him. It’s a little weird for me as his daughter, but it’s his thing. He’s just really free. I can’t be biased just because I’m his kid.

Krissy: It comes from a place of, “I’m 53 and – in his words – f**k it! I don’t care what anybody thinks.” But, he’s not going around the house naked, he’s not a nudist – he just enjoys feeling free and being in nature. It’s about not taking yourself too seriously.

Krissy, Chesney dropped a bombshell about you whipping him during a sex club visit…

Krissy: OK, let’s clear that up… it wasn’t a sex club per se. It was a bar in LA with a little area upstairs – we popped up there for a second and thought, “Why not?” It was a one-off, spontaneous moment – not something we’ve got booked in the calendar regularly! For us, it’s all about fun and spontaneity.

Do you think he could win?

Jesse: I mean, part of me wants him to be evicted so I can see him again. Jokes aside though, I want him to go far. He seems really happy.

Krissy: Yeah, he’s loving the experience. He’s someone who wants to see things through once he’s started something.

What do you think he’s found hardest about being in the CBB house?

Krissy: Being away from us. We’re a close family and talk all the time.

Jesse: Even when he’s touring and loses signal for a day, he struggles. This is the longest we’ve gone without speaking. He brought a jacket from each of us to wear in the house – really sweet.

Who has he bonded with most in the house?

Krissy: He’s very genuine, so I believe any connection he’s made is real. I saw him taking tea and facemasks to Danny [Beard] and Angellica [Bell], and chatting with JoJo [Siwa] too.

Jesse: I don’t think there’s anyone he couldn’t have a good laugh with.

Anyone in there you’re not so keen on – or Chesney might not be?

Jesse: There was – Mickey Rourke. I wasn’t a fan.

Krissy: No one specifically, but if anyone’s being disruptive – like keeping people up at night – that would wind him up.

Mickey made a controversial comment to JoJo about her sexuality. Jesse, given that your dad had mentioned you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community, how did you feel seeing that?

Jesse: When Mickey said that thing to JoJo – and my dad had previously mentioned that I, his kid, am part of the community – a lot of people got mad at him for not speaking up. But you don’t see everything. You see 45 minutes out of his 24-hour day and he’s the type of person who would have stepped in if needed. He would’ve spoken up. I really don’t like people saying bad things about my dad on that topic or saying I’d be disappointed in him – because I wouldn’t. It was making me upset seeing those comments because they don’t know what happened in there.

If you could sneak a message in, what would it say?

Jesse: That I’m so proud of him – and I’m stressed about my dissertation!

What do you miss most about Chesney?

Krissy: I miss our conversations and that connection – his hugs and the physical touch.

Which housemates are you looking forward to meeting?

Jesse: JoJo because we’re the same age.

Krissy: Donna [Preston] and Angellica seem fun – and Danny.

What‘s the first thing Chesney will do when he gets home?

Krissy: Sit on the stairs and let the dogs climb all over him. We have two – a big one called Finn, who he says is the love of his life, and a little one, Mischief.

Kristina: Chesney is Chesney. You get what you see.

Jesse: He is truly his own.

What about him in public would surprise people the most?

Jesse: You can tell how awkward he is.

Who in there is not your thing to enjoy or Chesney might not?

The band’s drummer Nick Mason has dubbed a newly restored version of the groundbreaking 1972 film Pink Floyd “moving and entertaining.”

From April 24th, Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII has been re-mastered with enhanced audio, enhanced audio, and heads to theaters and IMAX® worldwide. Mason, however, discussed the movie and its impact during a special VIP screening on Thursday night.

He continued, “Over the years, looking back at something like this, I must say, I found it quite moving and entertaining.

One of the things about the movie is how few cuts, roll backs, and drop ins are there. Adrian Maben, who actually came up with this idea, should be mentioned. We were blatantly unaware of this at the time! Adrian worked really hard to get us to travel to Italy and produce this film.

“This film was very much put together by outsiders, by Adrian, unlike most of the things we did,” he said. The thing about it that worked was that he had an audience-free live performance that we didn’t and did not see. Even without the audience, this arena and amphitheater had the vibe of a full-fledged concert.

Additionally, the movie includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from Abbey Road Studios’ beginning of The Dark Side of the Moon.

The project that followed this one became a favorite of the fans and the biggest album ever. Nick Mason remarked on why Pink Floyd fans adore this time period, saying: “

“I don’t know,” I believe it’s a case of people getting hooked into something that’s completely different from what used to exist. The scene in studio two of the movie, which I recall watching, is one I recall watching. We were able to enter the small glass box at the top of the studio and watch the Beatles in that same room three years prior. You might be thinking, “Okay, things do move along, don’t they?” at this point.

The performance, which was released in October 1971, features the storied “Echoes,” “A Saucerful of Secrets,” and “One of These Days,” which was Pompeii’s first live concert.
