Abbey Clancy has slammed husband Peter Crouch’s spending habits, saying he’s “got cheek” after discovering his enormous clothing collection. The model and former Premier League striker have been wed for over 14 years now.
They regularly dish the dirt on married life through their podcast, The Therapy Crouch. In the latest episode, Abbey worried she might be battling Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
This led husband Peter to suggest the 39-year-old mum-of-four should “save up and go on a nice holiday”. He said: “I don’t want to spend money on anything, but holidays I do.”
Peter continued by claiming there’s “nothing he really likes to spend money on”.
But their podcast producer Ross cheekily fired back that he splashes cash on Abbey. This prompted Abbey to take a swipe at Peter’s wardrobe obsession.
She said: “Did I tell you he’s got like 50 polo necks from Tom Sweeney, and that’s just on one rail. When I was cleaning out his wardrobe and they’ve all got the tags on.
“He’s got five of the same jumper in the same colour and he’s got the cheek to say, ‘I don’t spend anything’. I reckon there’s about £10 million of clothes in that wardrobe.”
Peter, who claimed the collection has accumulated over time, replied: “I didn’t know I had them.”
Abbey quipped the polo shirt salesman must “see him coming”.
Abbey and Peter have been together for nearly two decades, initially meeting in a bar back in 2006. Their romance endured a rocky start when Peter managed to rub Abbey up the wrong way mere moments after they first crossed paths.
Looking back on their initial encounter during a Good Morning Britain segment, Abbey disclosed: “When we first met, he begged me for my number and then I went to the loo or the bar, and when I came back, he was talking to another girl. I was like, ‘How dare you?'”.
Peter later clarified he was “just talking” to the other woman, although Abbey insisted on having her contact details returned. He added: “I said, ‘You can’t give someone your number and then take it back’.”
Despite this rocky beginning, the couple’s relationship blossomed and they tied the knot in 2011. According to OK!, the family call a “magical” Surrey estate home, complete with its own cinema room and sprawling grounds.
Former world champion boxer Ricky Hatton was found dead at home last month, with an inquest into his death opening on Thursday following his funeral last week
An inquest into the sudden death of British boxing legend Ricky Hatton will open on Thursday morning, just over a month after his untimely passing at the age of 46.
The former world champion was found dead at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester, on September 14, sending shockwaves through the sporting world. His funeral was held on Friday, with thousands of mourners lining the streets of Manchester and a host of celebrities attending the service at the city’s cathedral.
A month on from the tragedy, little is known about what happened to Hatton, with his cause of death not yet publicly disclosed. However, some of the circumstances surrounding his death will be revealed on Thursday, after police – who do not suspect foul play – referred the case to the coroner.
The inquest opening is officially scheduled to take place at South Manchester Coroners’ Court in Stockport at 9am on Thursday, and will be held before the area’s senior coroner Alison Mutch.
Inquests are opened by coroners when there is reasonable cause to suspect that a death has occurred due to anything other than natural causes. While there is no precise legal definition of a ‘natural’ cause of death, it is typically described as “death due to a disease running its full course with no other intervening factors.”
An inquest opening is a brief administrative hearing where the coroner officially opens the investigation into the death. The coroner will confirm the identity of the person who has died, as well as the medical cause of death if it is known, while the brief circumstances of the death may also be heard.
The coroner will then determine whether a full inquest needs to take place and adjourn the hearing to a future date for a review or final hearing. A schedule is then established for the next stages of the investigation, including the collection of witness statements and reports, as well as setting a date for any required future hearings.
Hatton was open about his struggles with his mental health, with his 13-year-old daughter Millie’s heartbreaking eulogy at his funeral seeing her ask him: “Why didn’t you reach out?”
Addressing the mourners inside Manchester Cathedral during the service, she said: “I can’t help but think about how you will never walk me down the aisle, how you will never meet my children and your grandchildren, how you won’t be here to see me leave school or even see me grow into an adult.

“Why did you feel that way? Why didn’t you reach out about how you felt? I genuinely hope you don’t ever think you have let me down, because I would never think that. I love and miss you unconditionally.”
Paul Speak, Hatton’s friend and long-time manager, was the one who found the 46-year-old’s body at his Manchester home when he came round to take him to the airport. Initially thinking the former boxer had simply overslept, it wasn’t until he went upstairs that he discovered the heartbreaking reality.
“The lights weren’t on, which I thought was strange,” he told Boxing News: “I thought he’d overslept, but it’s not unusual. People do oversleep. So, I went inside – I have a key – shouting, ‘Rick, Rick, wake up! I heard music coming from upstairs, so I went upstairs… I took a look at him… I had to take some time to process it.
“I was in a state of shock and confusion and loss and many more emotions,” he added. “Then I called the police and the ambulance. But I firmly believe he didn’t intend to do it. It’s for the coroner to determine, but he had it all to live for.

One happy buyer beams: “I have had this around four months now. I wasn’t sure if to bother – I’ve had an IPL before (many years ago) and it was c**p. I am so glad I did! After a month, on the highest setting, I noticed a difference, and after two months, I saved maybe twice. I haven’t used any other hair removal for over a month, and I have no hair on my legs. Great for the holiday season and hot weather. It has also meant no ingrowing hairs, and my skin’s dryness has improved. My underarms are now at their ‘no hair’ stage (started about a month later), and my bikini line is in the early stage, but it’s looking great so far. Do follow the instructions. Have the highest setting where possible. Answer the surveys truthfully and finish the course it sets. It’s not an overnight win, why would it, but it will change your life.”
Another shopper raves: “I’m genuinely impressed with the results! I started noticing less hair growth and smoother skin on my arms, legs, and underarms after just my second session on all three areas. I honestly can’t recommend it enough; it’s super easy to use, and the way it leaves your skin feeling is incredible. I’m so happy with my Braun Skin i·expert Smart IPL!”
And a third notes: “I honestly didn’t expect this to work as well as it did. It felt like it could be gimmicky and probably wouldn’t work like the products in salons. I was totally wrong! I used it religiously for 6 weeks straight, and I saw incredible results! So much so that my husband wanted me to use it on him! I travel a LOT, and not having to shave my armpits or legs anymore is a HUGE flex. Buy this yesterday!”

Though not everyone was thrilled with their experience, as one customer shares their disappointment: “used as directed, but haven’t noticed any difference. Pretty bummed, especially with how expensive it is.”

A savvy shopper was gobsmacked after bagging a “holy grail” find in a charity shop for just £7.52, despite its actual worth being significantly higher. Charity shops are often treasure troves of discounted items, ranging from designer apparel and handbags to quirky trinkets, vintage games, and much more.
One bargain hunter got a pleasant surprise after popping into a charity shop and spotting a sought-after item they’d been on the hunt for for months – a Singer sewing machine, complete with all its components and accessories, original packaging, and even the receipt indicating exactly when it was bought.
Sewing machines are practical, efficient tools found in numerous households worldwide. They’re perfect for mending and altering clothes, as well as for creative pursuits and projects.
Singer sewing machines are a hit among both seasoned and beginner sewers.
On its website, the brand boasts: “Today many of the vintage models are collector’s items and very much [sought] after. Singer sewing machines have the history.”
The price tags on these machines can vary – for instance, a Singer M2105 Sewing Machine is priced at £159 at full retail price, while the Singer Quantum 9985 Sewing Machine comes with an £879 price tag.
One Reddit user couldn’t contain their excitement after managing to snag a Singer machine for a mere £7.52.
Sharing a series of photos on the popular social media platform, they revealed: “My mom needed a sewing machine and has been looking for one, I passed on a few of them the past few months because I didn’t recognise the brand.
“[I] did see one that wouldn’t have been bad but was missing some parts so passed on that too.
“After a few months of keeping my eye out, this guy comes out on a cart! It’s not brand new, it is used but the receipt inside shows it was bought recently in 2021.
“Originally $149.99 (£112.92) got it for $9.99 (£7.52)! Even came inside the original box and all the instructions, receipt, and parts, and even some extras! Immediately bought it, brought it home, and it does indeed work!”
They ended their post by expressing gratitude to the original buyer “Judith” for donating such a sought-after brand and machine.
In a subsequent comment, they added: “My mom was going to buy a brand new one at the store and I convinced her that I could likely find one at the thrift store, I’m glad she listened to me! I definitely didn’t want her to spend the full price!”
In the comments section, fellow Reddit users were eager to share their thoughts. One person exclaimed: “so jealous!!”
The Prince and Princess of Wales kicked off their one-day visit to Northern Ireland today by visiting trainee firefighters at a new £50million training college near Cookstown in County Tyrone
The Prince and Princess of Wales were treated to a ride in a fire truck and watched trainee firefighters take part in drills as they kicked-off a day-long visit to Northern Ireland today.
William and Kate watched as emergency workers simulated rescuing a casualty from a fast-flowing river and toured a warehouse space where others practised high-rise rope and ladder rescues and tested breathing apparatus. It came as the royals visited Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service’s (NIFRS) new £50million Learning and Development College, near Cookstown in County Tyrone, which opened in May. The pair were shown around by Chief Fire & Rescue Officer Aidan Jennings, walking past a replica village into a training warehouse where the drills took place.

The couple met two recent graduates of the 18-week training course, firefighters Piarais McCaffery and Caoimhe McNeice, to hear about their experience of training at the 50-acre site, which is set in the countryside.
World-class facilities include a flood water rescue simulator – one of only two in the world at a fire service training facility.
And after watching hose drills outside the warehouse, William and Kate boarded the fire appliance to head there and watch the simulated floodwater rescue – and also take part in the drill from the safety of the bank.
Each attempted to throw a line attached to a float to rescue a ‘casualty’, played by an instructor, but didn’t manage to reach him as he was swept past by the current.
The Princess of Wales, who wore a green Alexander McQueen coat and Gianvito Rossi boots, also joked that she wanted to drive at full speed with the ‘sirens on’ as she and the prince rode in the back of the fire engine.
Kate “was wanting the sirens on” during the short drive across the training site, “but the driver was strictly told no,” according to newly qualified firefighter Caoimhe McNeice, who joined the royal couple for the ride. She added: “She was wanting the prince to drive, but no the driver got us there safely anyway.”
“The Princess was saying, ‘I’d love to drive at the real speed and have the sirens on,’ but they were getting to the water rescue [area], it was just a bit of banter.” Caoimhe, 25, and her fellow graduate Piarais, 32, were chosen to spend time with the royal visitors after passing out as graduates in June.
“They were both lovely, great, down to earth people. It was great to showcase our Learning and Development College to them, and they were blown away by it,” said Piarais. He said William and Kate were “very, very genuine and interested, especially with the water facility.”
The college is the largest investment ever undertaken by the NIFRS and is a training centre for all NIFRS employees. Training with other emergency service workers and partner agencies also takes place there.
NIFRS chief fire officer Aidan Jennings described the visit as “a proud and unforgettable day” for the service. He said: “With a one team ethos in NIFRS, our personnel work together to help make Northern Ireland a safer place. It was a privilege to have our royal visitors meet many people across our Service and recognise their commitment, dedication, and enthusiasm in doing so.
“I’m honoured that the prince and princess witnessed first-hand how the real-life scenario-based training facilities are revolutionising how we train and develop our people enabling us to meet the evolving needs of a modern-day Fire & Rescue Service.
“Our next generation of firefighters, currently undergoing their training at the college clearly demonstrated that today in their display of operational skills and capabilities.
“I would like to sincerely thank the Prince and Princess for their visit, their kind words, support and recognition of the work of all our people in NIFRS dedicated to serving our community and keeping people safe.
“I would also like to thank the Northern Ireland Office, the Executive Office and the Department of Health for their efforts and support in making this memorable visit possible.”
It was announced earlier today that William and Kate were on a surprise unannounced trip to Northern Ireland today for a series of special engagements.
Kensington Palace said “they will spend the day visiting innovative organisations that showcase growth and investment in rural areas and demonstrate entrepreneurial and creative opportunities for young people”.

The trip marks Kate’s first visit to Northern Ireland in three years, with her last trip there in October 2022, when she joined William at a suicide prevention charity in Belfast before heading to a food market, where they made cocktails, before ending the day-long visit with a trip to Carrickfergus.
It also marks her first trip to the area since her cancer diagnosis and treatment. William on the other hand, last visited last November, when he was in Belfast for a series of engagements for his Homewards initiative, which is aiming to end homelessness.
Duchess Meghan has stepped back into the spotlight, making a series of high-profile appearances, and has been spotted catching up with a bevy of her A-list pals recently – and one expert thinks it’s a key sign of more to come

Meghan Markle may be plotting another ‘relaunch’ as she cosies up to key fashion players and makes a string of high profile events – with more in the pipeline.
It’s been a big year for the Duchess of Sussex, having launched a series of new ventures and returning to social media with a bang. Two series of her lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, have dropped on Netflix, and Meghan also released the first series of her second podcast offering: Confessions of a Female Founder.
Alongside this, the Duchess has launched her lifestyle brand As Ever, with many of her initial product runs quickly snapped up by her fans. Now tongues are wagging that Meghan might be planning even bigger business moves as she’s been spotted at various glitzy events over the past month, including Paris Fashion Week – her first public trip to Europe in years.

The Duchess re-embracing both social media and the lifestyle space represented something of a return to form for Meghan, who for many years ran a successful lifestyle blog, The Tig, while she worked as an actress.
In the last few weeks she’s mingled with fashion tycoons like Anna Wintour, delivered a speech after being crowned Humanitarian of the Year alongside her husband Prince Harry, and lunched with her pal Serena Williams in the Big Apple’s Soho House.
And on Tuesday, she’s set to join the likes of Selena Gomez and Kamala Harris at Fortune’s Most Powerful Women summit in Washington DC to give a lecture on the world of entrepeneurship.
Meghan posted a reel round-up of her trip on her New York Instagram, which included pop icon Ed Sheeran, feminist trailblazer Gloria Steinem, and a look at the immaculate wardrobe she took with her.
The video showcased several racks of designer clothes with matching high heeled shoes lined up along the floor to match her several luxury outfits. As Meghan filmed the rows of clothing, Harry made a casual cameo, standing in the doorway smiling in a pair of grey track pants.
The Duchess also reportedly enjoyed a low-key dinner with the new editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Chloe Malle, tucked away in a corner of a lavish NYC hotel.
With these high-profile sightings and catch-ups, one PR expert told the Daily Mail that the Duchess might be looking for a way to reposition herself, with some of her ventures, like her TV show and podcast, landing mixed reviews.
“It’s Meghan 3.0. She’s on manoeuvres and looking for yet another relaunch,” the expert told the outlet.
The expert opinion comes as the new Creative Director of Balenciaga, Pierpaolo Piccioli, the debut show of which Meghan attended, revealed that the Duchess had asked if she could attend the show.
“Meghan and I met some years ago, and we’ve been texting ever since. She reached out and said she’d love to come to the show,” the designer told The Cut, explaining there was “no strategy or big orchestration”.
Meghan’s spokesperson is reported to have described her appearance as “the culmination of many years of…friendship”.

It comes as the Duchess shared a never-before-seen snap of her daugher Lilibet in a new social media post. In order to mark International Day of the Girl, Meghan shared an adorable photo of Lili running across the grass in a pink outfit.
