Ozzy Osbourne beamed for the camera as he posed for a powerful snap ahead of the Black Sabbath concert at Villa Park on July 5. In a collaboration post between Aston Villa Football Club and Ozzy, the Prince of Darkness posed with a host of rock and metal stars ahead of the superconcert.

The musician, Bill Ward, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler will be joined by the world’s best heavy metal bands for the July 5 show before Ozzy retires from performing. The caption of the Instagram post read: “‘It’s taken us 57 years to get to the Villa, we made it. Back to the Beginning’ – Ozzy Osbourne.”

Black Sabbath performed a farewell tour from 2016 to 2017, with all the founding members minus Bill going on tour. Last year, Ozzy took to his The Madhouse Chronicles podcast to admit the band’s career felt “unfinished” as they didn’t tour with Bill.

He wanted a proper original lineup reunion, with all the band members sharing their interest in the idea. The huge comeback was finally revealed in the Back To The Beginning’s announcement earlier this year.

Ozzy first retired from live singing in 2023 because of his numerous surgeries and his Parkinson’s Disease.

“As you may all know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine,” he said on social media. “My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage.

“My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently, groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak. ”

Along with Black Sabbath, the Back To The Beginning supershow will include sets from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Gojira, Anthrax, Lamb Of God, Halestorm, Mastodon and Rival Sons.

An all-star super-group will be playing, with The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Megadeth’s David Ellefson, and Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst taking to the stage.

The event will be hosted and compered by Game Of Thrones icon Jason Momoa. Sharon Osbourne recently said of the show: “Then you’re going to see one icon playing with another icon, doing a Sabbath song and one or two of their own songs, and people playing with each other that you never you’d see.

“Tom Morello is going to play with the drummer from Tool and they’re going to have Billy Corgan with them. Then you’ll see Slash and Duff and whoever they choose to play with.

“David Draiman is going to come up and sing, Jonathan from Korn is going to be here and he could be playing with Chad Smith or whoever! ”

The brothers have gone for a simple stage setup, but an ‘Oasis’ sign can be spotted at the top of the stage. Cardiff is the first place that the brothers will travel to on their reunion tour where an estimated 74,500 fans will go to watch at the Welsh city’s Principality Stadium.

The concert will first begin with two support acts before Oasis take to the stage. Cast will play first at 6pm followed by Richard Ashcroft at 7pm.

However, a confirmed setlist is yet to be released. This show marks the first of 17 nights across the UK, with fans set to flock to London, Manchester and Edinburgh too.

Oasis will also play in Dublin before the band takes the show on the road to North America, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia, Chile and Argentina.

The band announced the reunion tour last year, much to the delight of fans. They shared a video to promote the comeback when Liam was heard saying: “When we both come together, you have greatness. “

Noel then says: “I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening.” Oasis surprised its fans who have been camped outside Cardiff’s Principality Stadium ahead of their reunion with an upgrade.

Those fans who had been out on the streets of Cardiff were given wristbands to access the front pit in the standing crowd, meaning they get the chance to be up close with Noel and Liam.

ITV Lorraine correspondent Nick Dixon revealed on the ITV show that some ticket holders had been waiting outside the Principality Stadium since yesterday in the hopes of getting to the front of the stage.

He explained that super fans had arrived a day early so once doors opened, they could rush to the front of the stage. The band’s management noticed the early arrivals and decided to give them upgrades so they didn’t have to wait any longer than appropriate.

Noel Gallagher’s ex-wife Meg Mathews makes Oasis Principality Stadium appearance

Meg Mathews is on hand to support her ex-husband, Noel Gallagher, on the first night of Oasis’ legendary tour. A source told the Mirror: “After posting about her ex-husband for weeks, Meg Mathews had a prime seat for watching the band. She was in great spirits before the set, watching Richard Ashcroft with pals. ” It comes just days after Meg was forced to deny that she and Noel had decided to give their relationship another go.

The 59-year-old has been sharing throwback snaps on social media, prompting fans to believe that they were back together following the breakdown of Noel’s second marriage. Meg denied the speculation but insisted that she would be attending the upcoming Oasis concert in London.

But despite engaging with fans about the huge reunion, Meg decided to throw a spanner in the works earlier today, revealing that she was in Cornwall, where she was meditating. But that didn’t stop her from getting involved in the Oasis hype.

Taking to Instagram today, sharing a slew of old snaps of her and Noel larking about in a club, she wrote: “TODAY IS THE DAY 4th July 2025 Finally here …. OASIS REUNION TOUR, Britpop was a British music and cultural movement that peaked in the mid-1990s, characterized by a revival of British guitar pop from the 1960s and 1970s, in contrast to American grunge.

“It was not just a genre, but a reactionary and patriotic cultural response, celebrating British identity, working-class roots, and everyday life. To everyone who’s there when they walk on the stage at 8. 15pm will be a piece of history. “

Referencing the photo, she added: “That night was a lot of fun can’t remember what after party gig it was . . back then there was always one which I was in charge of organising through @creationrecords money and fun had no limit back then. “

Throughout the week, Meg has been reflecting on her former marriage to Noel in the lead-up to tonight’s mammoth concert. Just yesterday, she marked the countdown with an adorable snap of herself and the rocker.

Alongside the pics, fans have been desperate to see them reunite. One wrote in the comments: “Please tell us you are back together again,” whilst another added: “So nice to see you still love and support your ex. So healthy to have that bond. Especially when you have a beautiful daughter together. “

A third shared: “Meg these pics are the best! ! You’ll always have a bond, you share an amazing child who is a credit to you both,” with a fourth writing: “The best era, and the best couple, wish you two got back together. ” But Meg said it was a firm “no” when asked if she and Noel were an item again.

The former couple tied the knot in Las Vegas back in June 1997, before they welcomed their daughter Anaïs, who is also in attendance. But they were married for just four years before they decided to split and go their separate ways.

Noel went on to marry Sara MacDonald, whom he split from in 2023 and has subsequently divorced.

The Lilacs star reveals cancer news and ‘takes step back’ for chemotherapy

An Indie music star has shared a devastating health update as he revealed he will be stepping back from his band duties. Sam Birchall of The Lilacs took to the band’s X, formerly known as Twitter, account to share the heartbreaking news after initially thinking he had received the all clear.

The guitarist shared a statement with his fans as he revealed he will be taking a step back from his role to focus on his health. It read: “Lilacs Fans, Friends, Family x.

“After recently hearing the news that my scans were looking clear from cancer, it is with utter disappointment to tell you that after just my first couple of check ups back, the cancer is infact showing again and remains present. “

He went on: “Perhaps a real reflection of what cancer is, it picks you up and drops you, plays with your mind and just when you think you’ve got it on the ropes it throws another swing.

“With this in mind I must again put my health first and will therefore be stepping back from the band for the coming summer months to complete chemotherapy and get this thing beat once and for all. This is certainly not a long term thing and I will be aiming to be back just in time for Manchester Academy in November and better than ever! “

He explained how recent gigs had been some of the best in the band’s last five years. Sets included an impressive Isle of Wight offering and supporting Sting at Cardiff Castle.

Sam went on to say that while cancer might think it is powerful, nothing is more powerful than music and its community.

He added: “With this in mind, all Lilacs summer shows will still go ahead as planned and a deputy player will be standing in so please make him feel really welcome and support the lads over the festival season like always! “

Signing off, he said: “P. S – I know there will be loads of messages and I really appreciate everyone’s support but I just won’t be able to reply to them all, so please respect mine and my family’s privacy during this time and I will catch you all when I’m better x. “

Fans were quick to send messages in the comments section. One user wrote: “Hope it goes well, keep fighting & can’t wait to see u on stage at Manchester Academy. ” Another added: “You’ve got this, Sam. Thinking of you, mate, and wishing the fastest of recoveries. “

And a third said: “Devastated for you Sam. You can beat this keep fighting. Love from us all with fingers crossed. ” They added a red love heart emoji to their supportive message.

Oasis support act Cast halt performance for touching Diogo Jota tribute

Cast have halted their performance on the Oasis tour to share a moving tribute to the late Diogo Jota.

While on stage, Liverpudlian singer John Power dedicated their track Walkaway to the late Liverpool FC footballer, Diogo, who died on Thursday. He said “This is Walkaway. This one is for Diogo Jota. Take it easy brother. “

The footballer and his brother tragically died after a fatal car crash in Spain, just ten days after he married his wife, Rute Cardoso.

Diogo and his brother Andre spun off the road before their car caught fire. One of the tyres had blown out while overtaking another car on the A-52, around 70 miles west of Valladolid, causing it to veer off the road. The incident occurred at around 12. 40am. The blaze had spread to nearby vegetation which was eventually put out by firefighters, with the assistance from the Civil Guard.

Medical officials later confirmed the death of the two occupants of the car shortly after arriving on the scene.
