Pregnant Georgia Harrison imposing strict ban on first child – and parents are divided

Former Love Island and Love Island All Stars favourite Georgia Harrison is expecting her first child this November – and the mum-to-be has already imposed strict rules about her child’s future

Pregnant Love Island star Georgia Harrison has revealed strict rules she plans to enforce when raising her first child with boyfriend Jack Stacey, due November 5.

The 30-year-old, who announced her pregnancy in April, says she won’t allow her child to have a phone or access social media, citing her own traumatic experience with ex Stephen Bear, who was jailed for sharing an intimate video of her without consent.

Opening up about the trauma she faced after the life-changing ordeal, Georgia explained her approach to a no-phones household as she insisted that she wants to protect her child as much as she can.

“I’ll do my best in the household just to try and educate them the most I can. But I really hope that by the time my kids do get of age, that actually the education systems will be doing a lot of that.

“I hope actually that the legal system tightens laws around children’s access to social media. I know Australia have been doing that. And I just think it would be such a better place if kids didn’t have social media up until the age of like 16,” she shared.

Sharing her thoughts with The Sun, Georgia added: “I just think, you know, the world’s so hard to navigate as it is. They don’t need to be exposed to so much. And I saw Robbie Williams saying the other day that he’s not letting his kids have a phone. And he’s like, I just don’t care.

“I’m not going to let them have a phone until a certain age. And I think that might be something that me and my partner do look into because I don’t want my kids to be exposed to things that do make them understand misogynistic tendencies. They won’t learn it in my household.”

Georgia has previously outlined other rules, including banning friends and family from kissing her baby after sharing a cautionary reel about herpes on Instagram. She captioned it: “To all my friends and family don’t be offended when I tell you to back off.”

Georgia said she's happy to have her first child 'sooner rather than later'

The Love Island star shared her wonderful pregnancy news in April, at the time telling the Mirror that she was excited to have children ‘sooner rather than later’.

“We both definitely wanted children, and while some may say it feels too soon, we know that this is amazing news and we couldn’t be happier,” she said at the time.

“We’ve both lived so much already, partied to a point that is probably concerning, and done everything fun you could possibly do. If we’re lucky enough to be able to have kids, why not have them sooner rather than later.”

Reflecting on meeting her partner Jack and falling pregnant, Georgia said: “If you don’t go to the interview, you’re not going to get the job, are you? I was thinking, ‘I’m nearly 30, I really want to make an effort to meet someone’.

“But I was quite pessimistic about love in general. It took me a while to really believe that someone could treat me so well, but Jack did. Now here we are, living together and about to have a baby! I do believe the things I’ve experienced in my past were meant to lead me to where I am now.”

Robert Bedford’s ‘best friend’ Paul Newman’s touching final words before his death

Robert Redford forged lifelong bonds with co-stars like Paul Newman, Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda, and Barbra Streisand, whose before his death at the age of 89

Best-known to many as the twinkly-eyed outlaw in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Robert Redford’s relationship with his co-star Paul Newman was perhaps the most important of his six-decade career.

They remained close until Paul died in 2008, and in the final months of his life he sent Robert a poignant handwritten letter which said: “You were always the Sundance to my Cassidy.”

Devastated by the loss, it took Robert weeks to find the right words, and he eventually said: “It was like losing my balance. Like one leg of the table was gone. He was my partner. My friend. My brother.”

A shared love of banter on the Butch Cassidy set once saw Paul fill Robert’s car with popcorn. He retaliated by unscrewing all the lug nuts on Paul’s tyres, causing one to roll off as he drove to the studio lot.

“It was like we were teenage boys who happened to be in a Western,” Robert later said. Their natural chemistry ran so deep that when they reunited for The Sting in 1973, they barely rehearsed, with director George Roy Hill telling the crew, “Just roll the cameras and let them do their thing.”

Another hugely influential figure was Robert’s Out of Africa co-star Meryl Streep, who said upon the news of his death: “One of the lions has passed. Rest in peace my lovely friend.”

In one of Out of Africa’s most touching scenes, Robert – who starred as game-hunter Denys – washed her character Karen’s hair by the river.

“It was magical,” Meryl said of the experience. “We see so many sex scenes in movies, but rarely something with that kind of tenderness and intimacy. I never wanted it to end – even though we were surrounded by hippos.”

Jane Fonda was another key of his key leading ladies, and after working together on 1960’s Tall Story they collaborated again in 1966’s The Chase and then Barefoot in the Park the following year.

Nearly four decades later, they reunited for Netflix film Our Souls at Night, which explored late-in-life romance. “It just makes a lot of sense, the two of us in a movie like this,” Jane said, adding that it felt “like hands going into comfortable gloves.”

Reacting to his death, she said: “I can’t stop crying. He meant a lot to me and was a beautiful person in every way. He stood for an America we have to keep fighting for.”

Meanwhile, it was Barbra Streisand who convinced Robert to star in 1973 film The Way We Were after he turned down the role – twice. “Bob is that rare combination,” she once said. “An intellectual cowboy… a charismatic star who is also one of the finest actors of his generation. He’s almost apologetic about his looks, and I liked that about him.”

Summing up his appeal, late director Sydney Pollack who partnered with Robert on seven films, said: “He never seduces his audience but makes them come to him.””

That was surely never more evident than in survival drama All is Lost, in which Robert spoke just 51 words – and still found himself nominated for a Golden Globe.

I walked miles and they were wearing slippers! They are perfect for the wider foot/ankle. They go with ease. Would highly recommend purchasing these boots.”

And this buyer beams: “They are the most comfortable wellies ever, the elastic width makes it easy to put on. I would highly recommend, from a gardener who wears them most days. Good fit, looks good on. It’s been dry, so I can’t say anything about any leakage yet.”

Though one less-than-impressed customer does note: “Bought these to walk dog on fields and wire them first day after receiving them. Sorry to say that the side gusset allows water in and the top also, my feet were wet within minutes walking on wet grass. Disappointed to say the least as I wanted wellies not too long but weatherproof.”

Robert Redford confessed he was paid ‘practically nothing’ for legendary movie role

Robert Redford, who has died at the age of 89, once opened up about his iconic role in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and how he was paid ‘practically nothing’ for it

Hollywood legend Robert Redford, who died at the 89, says he was paid “practically nothing” for one of the most iconic roles of his long career.

Redford, who appeared in films such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, and All the President’s Men, passed away today (Tuesday, September 16). The actor, director, and activist, who also founded the Sundance Film Festival, died at his home in Sundance, Utah, surrounded by loved ones, according to his publicist.

Redford, an environmental advocate and champion of Native American rights, was once described as “a chunk of Mount Rushmore levered into stonewashed denims”. Over his illustrious career, he starred in over 50 films and won an Oscar for Best Director for his 1980 film Ordinary People.

Despite his many achievements, Redford is perhaps best remembered for his role in the 1969 classic, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, where he starred alongside Paul Newman.

However, in a revealing interview on BBC’s Talking Pictures with Michael Parkinson, Redford admitted that he was paid “practically nothing” for this iconic role due to his relative obscurity at the time.

BBC’s Talking Pictures aired a special episode examining legendary collaborations between cinema’s biggest names, featuring the enduring friendship between Redford and Newman, which extended far beyond their celebrated on-screen partnership.

During his 1980 chat with Michael Parkinson, Robert reflected on his character and how the chance came about.

He said: “That was the film that went out of whack. I had made films before – there was one film that was successful before that, in America anyway.

“But nothing to that degree where it got outsized.”

The actor made the shocking revelation that film bosses “didn’t want” him at the time.

“That film was a film that, for me, was very comfortable,” he stated. “The studio didn’t want me in that film because I was not known.

“They were trying to have a star comparable with Paul (Newman) to be with.

“And I practically did it for nothing, that film, because I just felt comfortable playing that role.”

He added: “So it was enjoyable… I probably had more fun making that film than any film that I did.”

Robert has received countless accolades for his acting work across several decades.

His role in The Voice of Charlie Point landed him an Emmy nod for Best Supporting Actor, and whilst he’s taken on various other parts, it was Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid that launched his career into the stratosphere.

The friendship between Paul and Robert was just as strong away from the cameras as it appeared on screen.

Paul died in 2008 aged 83 following a lung cancer diagnosis.

Years afterwards, Robert looked back on his mate’s personality, sharing that Paul was a “nervous” person. “He was a chatty, nervous guy who was always biting his fingernails,” he revealed to The Toronto Sun.
