Friends actress makes major career move as she steps away from acting

When Friends first appeared on television in 1994, the cast had some of the most recognizable faces in the business, but one actor has since left the field altogether.

The Friends cast haven’t been able to escape from their character’s names since the show first aired in 1994. However, one star has moved far away from the sitcom as she reveals her surprising career change.

A huge storyline in the NBC sitcom was Ross Geller’s (David Schwimmer) unfortunate love life, which all started off with his first wife Carol (Jane Sibbett). The couple shared son Ben, although Carol left Ross for Susan Bunch, played by Jessica Hecht.

The first lesbian wedding to be shown on network television was the episode “The One with the Lesbian Wedding,” which aired on NBC on January 18, 1996, making history with the on-screen relationship between the two.

Jane, who starred in 15 of the NBC sitcom’s 15 episodes between 1994 and 2001, has a very different career as an energy healer.

The 62-year-old relocated from California to Hawaii more than ten years ago to pursue an energy healing career. When I use the dancing hands, it’s not me, Jane said in a conversation about the transition from acting to healing and spirituality with people. I only experience bliss, joy, and love when I’m in this state because the energy is flowing through me.

Before moving to Hawaii, Jane and her hosted goddess circles for women in groups ranging from 15 to 100.

Later, the couple started a production company, but they later split while residing in Hawaii. She told the publication, “I was on my knees because I was really broken hearted by everything,” and part of that was her stuff.

Then, she accepted her new job as a “energy healer.” She said, “I wouldn’t call it Reiki.” I wasn’t even trained in Reiki, so I couldn’t even begin to dance [my hands]. I have faith in it, and I can trust it, but it’s just not my thing. This was not taught. This was just released in its entirety right away.

In 2020, Jane opened up about the backlash she received from viewers for playing lesbian character Carol on the hit sitcom.

She stated in an interview with Now To Love that, “It suddenly became apparent that there was a responsibility to be able to stand up for what was wrong, including my own father, who had a really difficult time with that.”

Before the show’s opening, the actress revealed that she had been approached to audition for Rachel Green’s Jennifer Aniston role at first.

She was pregnant at the time, so she was unable to take the part.

My leg keeps letting me down, despite the unpleasant conditions and aches and pains I can deal with. I cycled out the pitstop determined to make it as far as I could toward the stadium and attempted to run into Villa Park after being told at the last pit stop that I could try to run the final few kilometers to test my leg and recover.

“I’ll do it if I have to wake up at 4 am every morning for the rest of the week to finish this,” I said. By Friday, I’ll be arriving in Manchester. I’m so appreciative of everyone who has already stepped up and donated, which is what keeps going.

His best pal Pete Wicks shared his support for the radio star during his challenge. Sam burst into tears upon seeing his close pal.

Sam clocks Pete, 36, who rushes over to give his friend a big hug while being seen as sweating, limping, and bandaged up in his knee.

The I’m A Celebrity winner, who was clearly stunned, cried and spluttered, saying, “Thank you so much for coming,” “Pete said:” Don’t be silly. as if I had no intention of coming. You are so amazing. You’re killing it, yo!

Pete insisted that you are smashing it, but Sam conceded, “I’m not smashing it.” Do you have any plans? You’re smashing it, then.

Sam then said, “I’m not the guy, man,” in a heartbreaking manner. Pete said, “You are the guy, and you are the guy,” making his friend even tighter. You were the guy before this began, and you are now.

An actor who rose to fame on Skins before starring in international projects for the likes of Netflix has announced that he needed surgery after sustaining an injury recently. He has now told fans that he spent two weeks in hospital.

Sebastian de Souza, 32 – who is best known for playing Matty Levan on the E4 show – has shared that he fractured part of his leg after falling off a bike in London. He revealed on Instagram last week that he needed an operation on his “mangled knee” at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington.

His post included photos, including several of Sebastian – who recently starred in Netflix’s the Life List – lying in a hospital bed. He’s seen with a bandaging on his left leg in several photos and appeared to sport a cast at one point.

Sebastian, who showcased a shorter hairstyle in some selfies that were included in the post, wrote in the caption: “New Hair! New Normal! Dear Souzles, forgive the radio silence! Three weeks ago I broke my leg falling off my bike.”

Sebastian continued: “Some very, very kind people (the first of thousands of kind people who have gone out of their way to help me recently – you know who you are and I will never be able to repay you) got me to St Mary’s Hospital Paddington, where I was whisked through the extraordinary A&E department by the gorgeous paramedics, doctors, nurses, domestic and administrative staff, all of whom made to feel so welcome and comfortable and safe.”

He then said that it turned out he had a tibial plateau fracture, which is understood to be a break in the upper part of the shin bone, and “needed an operation”. He however said that his “mangled knee” wasn’t as bad as some other patient’s injuries so he had to wait for the procedure.

Sebastian said: “St Mary’s is one of the best trauma centres on planet earth and so, naturally, there were lots of poor people with injuries far graver than mine queuing up for operations that needed doing quickly, which meant my mangled knee would have to wait a little bit before getting patched up.”

He continued by saying that he spent time on wards at the hospital whilst waiting for surgery. The actor – whose credits include shows like Medici: The Magnificent, Normal People and the Great – described that two week period as the “most wonderful, inspiring, insightful, love-filled fortnight”.

Sebastian added: “I have never been treated with such kindness, care, respect, sensitivity and love. Nor have I ever seen such professionalism and compassion shown so consistently by anyone to everyone, ever. During my two weeks with you I witnessed selflessness and charity and generosity of spirit the like of which one never sees these days. Behaviour rarer than magic.”

In the caption of his post, he continued: “Thank God for @nhsengland @nhsenglandldn . As far as I’m concerned the NHS is the greatest institution ever invented and should be supported, protected and celebrated at all costs. Forever.”

Sebastian concluded by apologising for his “lengthy message” and said that he just wanted to say the “biggest thank you imaginable” to the staff at St Mary’s Hospital. He added: “And an equally massive thank you to my incredible family and extraordinary friends – the most remarkable, steadfast, loyal and supportive on Earth – for helping me crutch my way through this fascinating new chapter!”

Stephen Fry reveals surprising new hobby thanks to younger husband in rare marriage insight

Celebrity Traitors contestant Stephen Fry opened up to Rylan Clark about his marriage to Elliott Spencer on the latest episode of the BBC Sounds podcast How to Be in Love

Broadcaster Stephen Fry has given a rare insight into his marriage to Elliott Spencer after more than a decade together. It’s included him revealing that he has discovered aspects of pop culture through his younger husband.

Stephen, 67, and Elliott, 38, have been together since 2013. The couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary earlier this year and the former QI host described himself as “a lucky man” in a post marking the occasion in January.

The Blackadder star has now spoken about his marriage whilst a guest on the BBC Sounds podcast Rylan: How to Be in Love. He was interviewed by host Rylan Clark, 36, for the latest episode, which was released earlier today.

Stephen was asked about the age gap between the couple and said he “stopped thinking about it”. He went on to suggest in the discussion that a younger partner can be “more experienced in the world as it is than as it was”.

The comedian, who said that he has “completely different tastes in things” compared to his husband Elliott, added: “So much of what I love in music and literature and so on is from not necessarily this century. It isn’t from this century.”

Asked how that plays out, he said: “It’s wonderful.” Stephen then revealed that Elliott has introduced him to rapper Kendrick Lamar and wrestling brand WWE, for example, with him sharing that he’s now a fan of them himself.

Stephen said of his husband: “He teaches me things I just didn’t know. He introduced me to Kendrick Lamar, which was a great thing to do because [he’s] I’ve decided is a great poetical spirit – a really remarkable figure.”

He continued: “So that, plus, now you’re really going to laugh here, because I thought ‘is he insane?’ He has a great affection for, and I guess you could call it ironic, but it’s real, for WWE.”

Stephen – who is set to compete on Celebrity Traitors later this year – said that Elliott introduced him to the “cast of characters” in wrestling, whom he described as “bloody talented”. Asked if he’s a fan now, he said: “I kind of am.” He added that he’s even bought tickets for WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

Asked about the “secret” to a “successful” ten-year marriage, Stephen said that every relationship is different. He said that each relationship is “brand new” and has “never been seen before,” adding: “So I can tell you how to have a successful relationship with Elliott, but that’s probably not very helpful.”

Sharing his thoughts, he added: “All the normal human virtues, some of which are forgotten virtues, but one of the most important human virtues I think isn’t even really considered a virtue, but it is one that changes the world.

“It’s not kindness, which obviously is important, but it’s a subset of kindness, perhaps. And it’s cheerfulness. When you’re in the presence of a cheerful person it makes everything better. They’re like their own sunshine. So that’s one of the things – if one is down to help the other come up.”

Prince William jokes about family tensions on visit to Prince Harry’s old regiment

Prince William visited servicemen and women from the Army Air Corps in Suffolk arriving in a Wildcat Helicopter and flying himself back home in the aircraft after the visit

Prince William joked about families not always wanting to see each other as he sported military uniform on a visit to estranged brother Prince Harry’s old Army regiment. The Prince of Wales also promised he would raise the accommodation concerns of troops from the Army Air Corp (AAC) as he handed out bacon and sausage rolls to their families as he visited them today.

William showed his interest in the welfare of the men and women of the regiment in his role as their Colonel-in-Chief and said the issue would be landing on a desk. He also lightened the mood when he joked, after asking one soldier if he spent enough time with his family “some of them might not want to see you that much – it’s a mixed bag”.

Wearing camouflage military uniform and the AAC’s iconic blue beret, William arrived at Wattisham flying station in Suffolk in a Wildcat Helicopter, a reconnaissance aircraft in the AAC’s fleet. The prince is a former RAF helicopter search-and-rescue pilot who later spent two years flying air ambulances and he flew himself back home after the visit to the AAC’s headquarters to meet military personnel and their families.

During a break in a physical exercise outdoor session, he told a group of servicemen “I’m going to have a chat about accommodation, make sure they look at that”, and went on to say “if they listen to me, that’s another matter”, and said the issue would be landing on a desk.

When he asked another group about accommodation and only received smiles in response, the prince said: “I’ll take that away, a lot of smiles going on, that’s all you need to say.”

William later served bacon rolls and sausage baps in the Archer’s Breakfast, a weekly social event held by 664 Squadron for its personnel and their families, and said the food was “very good-smelling, making my mouth water”.

A long line of servicemen and their families quickly formed and the prince quipped “nothing worse than the smell of bacon in the room and you cannot eat it”.

Outside the cafe, William chatted to servicemen and their families including the children of Warrant Officer Class 2 Matthew Foster, Ida, eight, and five-year-old Archie. Asked by William what they liked, Ida replied ‘school’ while her younger brother opted not for lessons but ‘play’.

He ended his visit by presenting a King’s Commendation for Valuable Service and awarded a group of soldiers their promotion from Corporal to Sergeant. The AAC is the combat aviation arm of the British Army and is made up of several regiments and units including 664 Squadron, and uses Wildcat battlefield reconnaissance and Apache Attack helicopters to seek out and destroy enemy forces.

William became the AAC’s Colonel-in-Chief in May 2024 when the King officially handed over the role at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop. King Charles – who became the inaugural holder of the title 33 years ago – met with his eldest son in a rare joint official engagement to transfer the role last year.

The Army Air Corps is Prince Harry’s old unit, in which he served as an Apache helicopter commander and co-pilot gunner during his second tour to Afghanistan in 2012. The King’s decision to hand the role to William was seen as a blow to Harry when it was announced in 2023. Neither the King nor William are in contact with Harry amid a long-running royal feud.

Back in 2019, Taylor publicly voiced her outrage after industry mogul Scooter Braun took over her previous label, Big Machine Records, and along with it her treasured master recordings, which were later passed on to Shamrock Capital in 2020.

This spurred Taylor to embark on re-recording journeys, leading to the release of ‘Taylor’s Versions’ of her albums, including ‘Fearless’, ‘Speak Now’, ‘Red’, and ‘1989’.

On Friday, the 35 year old songstress delighted her followers by announcing that she has successfully regained control over her music catalogue.

In a heartfelt message on her official site Taylorswift.com, she expressed: “I’m trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow. A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news.

“All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close , reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now.”

She continued, overwhelmed with happiness, “I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me. And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life’s work.”

Taylor further stated that securing the rights to her music represents her “greatest dream come true” and she extended her gratitude towards Shamrock Capital for making this opportunity possible.
