BREAKING: Aubrey Plaza breaks silence on husband Jeff Baena’s death – ‘Grief is a daily juggle’

American actress Aubrey Plaza has said it is a “daily juggle” following the death of her estranged husband Jeff Baena at the start of this year.

The filmmaker died in January at the age of 47, with the Los Angeles County medical examiner concluding he took his own life. The director and screenwriter was found at a home close to the Fern Dell Nature Trail near the Hollywood Hills, with the cause of his death determined as hanging.

Aubrey released a statement with Jeff’s family when his death was confirmed in January but this marks the first time she has opened up about her grief. The Agatha All Along star wore a subtle tribute to her late spouse on her return to TV in February when she appeared on Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary show.

The star, who made her red carpet return at the Cannes Film Festival in May, discussed dealing with grief during an appearance on her Parks and Recreation co-star Amy Poehler’s podcast.

She said: “Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you. Overall, I’m here and I’m functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I’m ok, but it’s like a daily struggle, obviously”.

She told Amy’s Good Hang podcast that she compared her grief to the 2025 movie The Gorge, which stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy.

She said: “This is a really dumb analogy and it was kind of a joke at a certain point, but I actually mean it. Did you see that movie The Gorge? … In the movie, there’s a cliff on one side and there’s a cliff on the other side, then there’s a gorge in between and it’s filled with all these monster people that are trying to get them.

” I swear, when I watched it, I was like that feels like what my grief is like … or what grief could be like. At all times, there’s like a giant ocean of awfulness, that’s right there and I can see it.

“Sometimes, I just want to get right into it and just like be in it.” Then I occasionally just keep looking at it and occasionally retreat. However, it is always present.

According to a report from the Los Angeles County Coroner Investigator, Aubrey and Jeff broke up in September 2024. The couple got married ten years later after dating since they had been together since 2011.

After getting “a little bored one night” during the Covid pandemic, the actress revealed to The Ellen DeGeneres Show in December 2021 that they had decided to tie the knot. The Little Hours and the 2014 horror film Life After Beth were co-written by the two.

In the workplace comedy Parks and Recreation, where Poehler portrayed politician Leslie Knope, Aubrey is best known for her role as April. She is also renowned for her roles in Agatha All Along and The White Lotus, the second season of Marvel. She has also appeared in movies like Emily The Criminal, Megalopolis, My Old Ass, Ingrid Goes West, and Dirty Grandpa.

Baena also wrote the 2004 comedy I Heart Huckabees, starring Jude Law, Jason Schwartzman, Dustin Hoffman, and Mark Wahlberg, as well as the 2020 thriller Horse Girl, which stars Alison Brie, and the 2022 dark comedy Spin Me Round, both of which he also directed.

Additionally, he co-wrote the comedy anthology series Cinema Toast, which featured Alison Brie as the lead actress and Alison Brie as the lead actress.

Perrie Edwards reveals Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s reaction to her ex reaching out

Former Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards has spoken out about her ‘toxic’ relationship with ex Zayn Malik and how her current fiance Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reacted when an old flame got in touch

Perrie Edwards has revealed how her current fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reacted when an old flame got back in touch with her.

The former Little Mix singer sits down with Paul C Brunson for an emotional chat on his podcast, sharing details of two painful miscarriages and her ‘toxic’ engagement to Zayn Malik amongst other topics.

Perrie and Zayn began dating soon after Little Mix triumphed on The X Factor in 2011, with their whirlwind romance accelerating rapidly. Zayn proposed in 2013 and even had Perrie’s image inked on his arm to show his love for the pop princess.

However, their fairy-tale didn’t endure and the pair confirmed their engagement was over in July 2015. Perrie later disclosed that Zayn, who swiftly began dating Gigi Hadid following their break-up, actually ended things via text message.

Perrie went on to find love with former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2017, welcoming their first baby Axl into the world in 2021 and becoming engaged the following year.

On today’s instalment of We Need To Talk, Paul C Brunson’s podcast, Perrie recalls her unhealthy relationship with Zayn and how their ‘toxic’ romance compares to the bond she has with Alex these days.

She tells Celebs Go Dating star how her time with ‘first love’ Zayn shaped her future, admitting it was “probably not good” and that the pain of the heartbreak left her thinking “I’m done with men forever. That’s me done.”

But she managed to find peace in her next relationship and credits Alex with being a positive and healthy partner. Although she doesn’t mention Zayn by name, Perrie tells Paul about an instance when an ex got back in touch and how Alex handled it.

“And I remember there was one point my ex reached out and I didn’t know how to handle the situation because I’d been with Alex for like a year and a half, two years, and I felt a bit uncomfortable about it,” Perrie recalls.

“And I remember sweating and like panicking, thinking, I’ve got to tell him that, obviously, I’ve spoke to him. And I remember being terrified, thinking, oh, no. And then I sat down and I was like, I need to tell you something. He was like, ‘okay, is everything all right?’ I was like, ‘yes, such and such reached out today’.”

She continues: “It was really weird. And he was like, same what? So I told him everything. And then he was like, okay, well, I really appreciate you telling me, like, thank you for letting me know. That’s fine. Like, hopefully, he doesn’t contact you again. I was thinking, okay, cool. That’s it. And that’s that. That was it.”

Elsewhere during the chat, Perrie, who has three year old son Axel with the footballer, calls the former One Direction heartthrob her “first love” but confesses their time together was anything but healthy.

Paul later asks how her relationship with Zayn, and its bitter ending, shaped how she loved again after their split. “Probably not good. It wasn’t it wasn’t ideal. I think it definitely at the time, I thought everything we experienced in our relationship was normal,” Perrie muses.

“Because it was my first relationship, first love. I was like, oh, this is how it’s supposed to feel. It’s supposed to feel a little bit toxic in some ways. This is probably normal.

“And then when I become single, I was almost thinking like I never, ever want to go through that again. I didn’t even want to meet anybody. I was like, that’s me done. I don’t think I could bear that pain. Like the pain of heartbreak is so grim that I remember thinking I’m done with men forever. That’s me done.

“And then when I met Alex, I had so many issues in our relationship at the beginning that I probably didn’t notice at the time. But now reflecting back, I’m thinking, oh, that probably wasn’t, it wasn’t good. And I’ve noticed it a lot.”

Tommy Fury’s bombshell Molly-Mae revelations from wake-up call to feud with her sister

Boxer and reality star Tommy Fury opened up about the difficult year he had and reuniting with fellow Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague following their brief split last year

Tommy Fury’s bombshell revelations from Molly-Mae wake-up call to feud with her sister

Tommy Fury candidly opened up about his struggles ahead of the release of his new documentary series, Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury. The star had been hitting headlines in the last year following his split from Love Island co-star Molly-Mae Hague after five years together.

The couple became a fan-favourite after meeting on the ITV2 show in 2019 and went on to live together before welcoming a baby girl named Bambi, now two. In the summer of 2023, the boxer got down on one knee to propose to Molly-Mae while on a sunny holiday in Ibiza.

However, their relationship soon came crumbling down as Molly-Mae shocked the showbiz world with their breakup announcement in the summer of 2024. Rumours started swirling that Tommy was unfaithful, but he was quick to shut down the claims before revealing the real reason behind their breakup – issues with alcohol. It comes after Tyson Fury’s huge net worth is revealed as Morecambe face going out of business.

He opened up about his drinking hell, hitting “rock bottom” and how he’s turned his life around to win back his fiancé and two-year-old Bambi.

Wake-up Call

Tommy discussed the harrowing moment he knew he needed to change or face losing his family forever.

Molly-Mae made the drastic but understandable decision to move out of their family home as Tommy grappled with his drinking struggles. “I had enough drink to last me a lifetime in 2024,” he confessed.

“Suddenly, one day, you find that all you can do is sit down and then a few of them (drinks), it takes the pain away. You forget where you are, you forget what’s going on. And sometimes you want that feeling all the time, and that’s where obviously it starts.”

While he hasn’t quit drinking, he says he barely touches alcohol. After working on himself, Molly-Mae and Tommy soon reunited.

However, it was her upping and leaving that really got Tommy into shape. Tommy recalled: “I woke up one morning and everything was gone, Molly and the baby had gone. That was the moment I thought, ‘wow, what’s going on?’ And that was the moment where I just started to try and change things around.”

Lessons learned

The opening episode showed his dad and boxing trainer, John, admitting that he urged Molly to leave Tommy, believing it was necessary to sober him up.

“I mean, I probably would’ve walked away from me too,” Tommy said. “It was a tough moment in my life, but everything happens for a reason.

“I’m not happy that I went through that, but I’m grateful for the lessons that I’ve learned, and I don’t think I would’ve known half of what I know about myself if I never went through that.”

Feud with Molly-Mae’s sister

Zoe Hague
Zoe was skeptical about Molly-Mae’s reunion with Tommy(Image: Prime)

Molly-Mae’s sister Zoe had expressed her fears that the relationship was doomed – with her damning opinion being aired in the reality couple’s Amazon reality show, Behind It All, in May.

On Molly-Mae’s Amazon Prime series, Zoe and Molly-Mae clashed in the car after Zoe admitted she didn’t feel “comfortable” not discussing Molly’s relationship.

She added: “Sisters need to be able to tell each other everything.” Before Molly-Mae fumed: “Right, then I need to be able to tell you the good, the bad and the ugly.” Zoe went on to say: “Your relationship and how you feel and how you are with Tommy is my only concern.”

This, however, appeared to touch a nerve for Molly who quipped: “Well what a lovely life you have, that, that is your only concern.” Pleading with her reality star sister, Zoe commented: “Nothing I do or say to you is going to change what you do, your opinion or how you feel towards him.”

“You know what Zoe, that’s the wisest thing you’ve ever said,” an annoyed Molly responded. Standing her ground, Zoe said: “I know at some point Mol, in the next year, however long it is, there will be a time, where unfortunately, and I hate to say it – you probably will be upset again.”

Now, three months on, it seems Zoe, Molly-Mae, and Tommy are all getting along swimmingly. Taking to social media over the weekend, the trio shared footage and photos of themselves working out in a gym together – alongside toddler Bambi.

Zoe and Bambi could be seen performing burpee exercises together, while further content showed the toddler watching her dad, Tommy, running on a treadmill in the same gym.

Molly-Mae shared content alongside an amusing caption, writing: “I think she may feel the same about the gym as I do,” drawing attention to Bambi’s unimpressed expression while watching her dad exercise.

Tommy and Molly-Mae only recently gave their romance another go after first heading on a family holiday together in April. On Tuesday’s edition of BBC Breakfast, Tommy provided an update on their romance.

The 26-year-old chatted to Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell regarding the current state of his relationship with Molly-Mae.

He revealed: “Me and Molly are in the best place that we’ve ever been in in our entire lives, even before all this. We’re do good now and it’s so nice to be in a healthy and loving relationship again.

“We’re keeping everything to ourselves and just enjoying what we’ve got and what we’ve created in Bambi.”

Yet the BBC presenter delved deeper into their present relationship circumstances, after Tommy’s proposal back in 2023. She enquired whether they remained engaged as Tommy playfully responded: “Who knows?”.
