Jessie J was emotional as she announced the Capital Summertime Ball would be her last show before she undergoes surgery for breast cancer

Jessie J got emotional as she announced a break from music to undergo breast cancer surgery. The singer performed at the Summertime Ball today at London’s Wembley Stadium.

As she took to the stage, Jessie paid a tearful tribute to those who had supported her after she announced she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She said: “Today, this show is my last show before I go to beat breast cancer! So it’s so special to me you have no idea. I feel so special to be from the UK, to be an honest person and say how you feel.

“This is my last show before go treatment and all the things It’s the most special thing and I’m so grateful for this life, for you guys, for my career, to my, my son. My partner, my parents. My family, my band, my crew.”

She concluded the emotional speech: “We are so lucky, we have so much to live for, so much joy, so much, so many things to do.”

Jessie announced recently that she had been diagnosed with “early breast cancer”. She said in a video shared with fans: “I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early’.

“It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I am going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I will come back with massive tits and more music. I just wanted to be open and share it.”

She added: “One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories.

“I’m an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse-that’s the bit that kills me.. The timing of it has been mad but also beautiful and given me this incredible perspective in this time. But honestly I need to process it and talk about it and, I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don’t want this to be any different.”

Jessie will undergo surgery following her last concert at the Summertime Ball today. She has a young son called Sky Safir Cornish Colman, who she welcomed into the world in 2023 after experiencing the heartache of a miscarriage in November 2021.

The 26-year-old Espresso singer has been the ultimate Pop girl in the last few years with her clever lyrics and visually appealing performances. However, she’s not the only talented person in her family.

Her aunt is none other than Nancy Cartwright, who is best known for voicing Bart Simpson in The Simpson. The 67-year-old voice actor has been the voice behind troublemaker Bart for over 30 years, and also voices Maggie Simpson, Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders, and Nelson Muntz. Nancy is also the voice of Chuckie Finster in Rugrats and its spin-off All Grown Up!

Sabrina’s father, David Carpenter, is Nancy’s step-brother, with some of Sabrina’s fans only just learning about the family connection.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one amazed user commented: “Interesting side note for those who don’t know. Sabrina Carpenter’s Aunt is Nancy Cartwright… Aka Bart Simpson.”

Another answered: “I did not know that!” One shocked fan said: “Just found out that the voice of Bart Simpson (Nancy Cartwright) is not only a Scientologist but also Sabrina Carpenter’s aunt??”

One added: “How the f*** am I just finding out Sabrina Carpenter is Nancy Cartwright’s niece?” Sabrina has previously talked about the love she has for her aunt.

In an interview with Captial FM, she explained: “My whole life, that was just like the coolest thing in the world to me. I wasn’t even allowed to watch the show until I was a little bit older!

“The woman is a woman of many talents, not just Bart. She always blows me away.” She went on to recall how Nancy would use the voice during family dinners at restaurants.

“When we were in a restaurant, she didn’t do it all the time, but there were a couple of times when we couldn’t get a table and she’d be like, ‘Hey, man, I’m Bart Simpson. What the hell’s going on?'” Sabrina said.

Hailey Bieber revealed the sweet present she bought her son Jack in a post shared right before Father’s Day. The model, who recently sold her brand rhode for $1billion, shares the 10-month-old baby with Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who has recently been worrying fans with his erratic posts.

On Friday, Justin shared a photo of himself holding little Jack, who looked adorable in a white jumper with a zebra on it and a pair of multicoloured trousers. Jack’s face can’t be seen in the snap, but his blonde hair can, as Justin – wearing a red Balenciaga T–shirt and bright yellow shorts in the grounds of what seems to be a sprawling mansion – holds him tightly.

Later in the day, Justin shared close-up snaps of Jack’s tiny hand along with a bizarre song choice – the Law and Order theme song from the hit US TV show.

He also shared a black and white shot of himself as a little boy with the caption: “Ay bay bay,'” with a bizarre single middle finger emoji.

The middle finger caption was a theme throughout his social media posts on Friday, which came hot on the heels of his recent cryptic comments online.

While fans shared their worry about Justin’s post, Hailey took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday to share a zoomed-in photo of Jack’s little hand with a ‘JBB’ engraved gold bracelet on his wrist.

On May 21, a meme account on Instagram shared a screenshot of text messages from a user named Grandpa, who wrote: “I’m worried about Justin Beber [sic],” later adding: “There is so much heartbreak in Justin’s life.'”

The caption of the post responded to the text: “We all are.” However, days later, Justin replied to the post, writing: “Worry about yourself gramps.”

The Baby singer also admitted he was “tired of transactional relationships”, adding: “If I have to do something to be loved, that’s not love.”

In response, many of the star’s 294 million followers said Justin did not sound like a 30-year-old man with a wife and child, commenting: “This post sounds like it’s coming from a 20 year old, not from someone who is in their 30s with a wife and kid.”

Responding to his curious message about love, another said: “Love is transactional, that’s the point, that’s real love. Love is not supposed to be unconditional, unless it’s your child.”

Meanwhile, a third compared the Where Do I Fit In? star to Britney Spears as they commented: “You can’t love someone who doesn’t give you anything to love them for.”

She married David and Victoria’s firstborn back in 2022 and once appeared to get on with the famous family. However, cracks started to appear following their wedding and things really came to a head when Nicola and Brooklyn, 26, snubbed David’s 50th birthday celebrations.

The pair failed to publicly acknowledge the football icon’s milestone birthday at the time, with them also avoiding attending any celebrations despite flying into London from Los Angeles. Since then, Brooklyn has continued to prove his loyalties to his wife as he failed to post anything when David was awarded a knighthood earlier in the week.

Now, on Father’s Day Nicola has chose to share the love to her own dad but not her in-law. She shared a series of photos throughout the years with her dad Nelson alongside a touching caption.

Nicola wrote: “Happy Father’s Day to the greatest dad in the world I am so lucky to be your daughter I love you more than you will ever know. Thank you for always being my constant support I love you beyond words. Happy Father’s Day dad.”

Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo and Cruz led the way in paying tribute to David for the special day. Cruz shared a snap of him chilling in the sun with his sports star dad and captioned the post saying: ” Happy Father’s Day, I love you x.”

Meanwhile, Romeo posted two pictures of him and his father. One was of him as a child with David and he captioned it simply saying: “love you.”

Wife Victoria was not too far behind when it came to praising David as she wrote: ” Happy Father’s Day Sir @DavidBeckham!!! We love you so much.” In a video clip of David and their children, she penned: “Happy Father’s Day to the best daddy there is! You always lead with love and our four beautiful children are a reflection of that. We all love you so much.”

David shared his own public message to his children as he appeared to hint at the feud. He shared: “My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad… I’m so proud of all of you and like daddy ( sorry boys ) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what…

“Mummy thank you for doing the most important part and making me a father there is no greater gift in life than making me a dad… Happy Father’s Day… I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.”

As Victoria and David appear to be extending olive branches through their social media, Brooklyn recently shared a picture of a tattoo that could be perceived as a tell-tale sign about where his loyalties lie. The image shows the tattoo on Brooklyn’s upper back that is based on a note Nicola, 30, wrote to him before their wedding in April 2022.

Tattooed in a stylish calligraphy font, it reads: “My forever boy. Read this anytime you feel anxious. I want you to know how deeply loved you are. You have the kindest heart I’ve ever met and hope I never go a day without your love. I think you are so incredible. Just know we can get through it all together if you breathe slow and trust. In another show of support to Nicola amid the ongoing drama, Brooklyn shared photos of them on a motorbike. The caption read: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby.”

Jade Thirlwall took a moment to talk about Little Mix at Capital’s Summertime Ball, saying ‘I miss my girls’ as she made her first solo debut at the annual concert

Jade Thirlwall kicked off the 2025 Capital Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, making it her debut at the concert as a solo artist. However, it wasn’t Jade’s first time performing there, as she reminded fans during her set, and gave a sweet nod to her former band Little Mix, saying ‘I miss my girls’.

As the pop icon stood on the stage, she asked the audience, “I have done the Summertime Ball a few times before – do you know who with?”, before sending fans into a frenzy with a medley of Shout Out To My Ex and Sweet Melody by Little Mix.

Jade then took a moment to mention her former bandmates and sweetly mentioned how much she ‘misses’ them and is ‘proud’ of all they achieved together. Jade said: “I really do miss my Little Mix girls a lot and I am so proud of everything we achieved together, but I can’t lie Wembley, it does feel nice to do my own songs written about my own personal experiences. With that said, this song was my first single”.

The singer, who looked stunning in a red and white miniskirt with a matching jacket, then performed Angel of My Dreams, but not before thanking her fans first.

Jade said: “Before I leave, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for backing me, supporting me as an artist, thank you Capital for having me here today, this is Angel of My Dreams”.

The appearance marked a significant milestone in her solo career, following a series of successful singles like “Angel of My Dreams,” “Fantasy,” and “It Girl”. Her performance was highly anticipated, especially after her standout live shows at the Brit Awards and Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Since departing Little Mix in 2022, Jade has swiftly established herself as a solo artist and released her debut single, Angel of My Dreams, in July 2024, which debuted at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart.

Jade’s debut album, That’s Showbiz Baby, is set for release on September 12, 2025, under RCA Records. Last month, the singer took to Instagram to share the news with fans, posting: “THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY! My debut album out 12th September.” The announcement was accompanied by a striking image of what appears to be her album artwork, which features Jade in four different outfits and poses.

The singer, who will also kick off her first UK and Ireland tour in October, told fans: “This album has been years in the making, so I’m beyond excited that I can finally let everyone know when it’s coming out. I’m very proud of ‘THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!’ as a body of work and can’t wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. This career move comes after Jade has already spent a decade in the spotlight after rising to fame as part of Little Mix in 2011.

The band went on to become one of the UK’s most successful girl groups, clinching number one singles, Brit Awards, and touring internationally. After the band went on hiatus in May 2022, Jade kicked off her career as a solo artist.
