Cat Deeley shared a screenshot of the sweet messages she received from Diane Keaton as she paid tribute to the Oscar-winning star. The star, best known for roles in Annie Hall, The Godfather and Something’s Gotta Give, died at the age of 79 this weekend, with her loved ones asking for privacy.

Huge A-listers, including Michael Douglas, Bette Midler and Reese Witherspoon, paid tribute to the icon. On Sunday, This Morning presenter Cat joined in on the tributes with a screenshot of a few messages she exchanged with Diane in 2021. Diane had responded to an Instagram Story, writing: “Haha! I love it!” with Cat responding: “Omg!!! I just saw you replied to my message before! Sending love. You rock,” along with a few heart emojis.

Diane tagged Cat in a story and wrote: “You’re adorable!!!” Writing in the caption, Cat said: “It’s the little things. There is and will only ever be one Diane Keaton!”

Bette Midler, who starred alongside Keaton in the 1996 comedy-drama The First Wives Club, previously paid tribute to her late friend.

Captioning a collection of snaps of herself and Keaton, Midler told her Instagram followers: “The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died.

“I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me. She was hilarious, and completely without guile, or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star. What you saw was who she was…oh, la, lala!”

Jane Fonda said: “It’s hard to believe…or accept…that Diane has passed. She was always a spark of life and light, constantly giggling at her own foibles, being limitlessly creative…in her acting, her wardrobe, her books, her friends, her homes, her library, her world view. Unique is what she was. And, though she didn’t know it or wouldn’t admit it, man she was a fine actress!”

Michael, who shared a picture of the two laughing together, said: “RIP to my friend Diane Keaton. A heartbreaking loss of one of the greatest icons in our industry. I have so many fond memories of working with Diane on our film And So It Goes nearly twelve years ago. Sending my deepest condolences to the Keaton family during this difficult time.”

It was recently reported that the star’s health declined at a rapid rate in the last few months before she died. More details about Diane’s death have since emerged, with a friend reportedly saying that her death was “unexpected”.

A friend of Diane’s told PEOPLE Magazine: “She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her. It was so unexpected, especially for someone with such strength and spirit.”

The source added: “In her final months, she was surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep things very private. Even longtime friends weren’t fully aware of what was happening.”

Diane Keaton’s cause of death remains undisclosed, but reports suggest that the film star’s health had taken a sudden downturn in recent weeks and that she had been looking frail

The distressing 911 audio from the call made to emergency services from Diane Keaton’s house on the day she died has been released.

The Hollywood icon died in California after reportedly suffering a “sudden” decline in her health. While the cause of the 79-year-old’s death remains unconfirmed, reports suggest that Diane’s health had taken a sudden downturn in the weeks before the heartbreaking announcement.

The phone call was made from the Oscar-winner’s residence on 11 October. The actress was rushed from her Los Angeles home by ambulance on Saturday, October 11 and was later pronounced dead following a phone call for help from the property.

The 911 audio to the fire department revealed there was a “person down.” While Diane’s cause of death is currently unknown, a friend of the actress told People Magazine: “She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her. It was so unexpected, especially for someone with such strength and spirit.”

Songwriter Carole Bayer Sager has said that the star had become very thin before her shock death and remarked how affected she was by the wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles earlier this year. “I saw her two or three weeks ago, and she was very thin; she had lost so much weight,” she said.

“She had to go to Palm Springs because her house had been damaged inside and they had to clean everything. “I just loved her. She was so special, she just lit up a room with her energy.” Diane bravely opened up about her battle with bulimia in 2014, describing it as “the lowest point in [her] life”. As she aged with grace and poise, fans often marvelled at how she managed to maintain such good health and handle the ageing process with such resilience.

Tributes have been pouring in for the actress from celebrities, including Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. Following Diane’s death, Robert De Niro. who worked with Diane several times, said in a statement, “I am very sad to hear of Diane’s passing. I was very fond of her, and the news of her leaving us has taken me totally by surprise. I was not expecting her to leave us. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.”

Bette Midler, who starred in The First Wives Club with Diane, said, “The brilliant, beautiful, extraordinary Diane Keaton has died. I cannot tell you how unbearably sad this makes me. She was hilarious, a complete original, and completely without guile or any of the competitiveness one would have expected from such a star. What you saw was who she was … oh, la, lala!”

Leonardo DiCaprio, who played Diane’s nephew in Marvin’s Room, wrote on Instagram that Diane was “one of a kind. Brilliant, funny and unapologetically herself.” He added” “She will be deeply missed” – and his view was echoed by many in Hollywood.

Goldie Hawn, who starred in The First Wives Club with Diane, posted on Instagram, “Diane, we aren’t ready to lose you. You’ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination. “How do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can’t tell me to ‘shut up’ honey. There was, and will be, no one like you.”

Diane starred in dozens of films throughout her career, including Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club and The Godfather. She frequently collaborated with Woody Allen, starring in eight of his films between 1972 and 1993.

Diane had a number of high-profile romances, including with Al Pacino, Warren Beatty and Woody Allen. However, she never married. In her 50s, Diane adopted two children, Dexter and Duke and raised them as a single mum.

Eminem rose to fame throughout his life due to his impressive musical talents, but he is also known for being a father to three children. He became a granddad earlier this year after his daughter Hailie Mathers gave birth, but now his other daughter, Alaina Marie Scott, is also set to be a mum.

She announced the exciting news via a series of photos on social media. In the first photo, Alaina and her partner, Matt Moeller, held up a baby-gro as they stood in a field and smiled, while another picture showed him blindfolded as she guided him into a building.

Others showed him removing his blindfold to be greeted with balloons and the announcement in the form of baby Nike sneakers and a positive pregnancy test. Eminem shares children Hailie Jade, Alaina, and Stevie Laine with his ex-wife, Kim Scott. Alaina is Kim’s sister’s daughter, but Eminem legally adopted her in the 00s as her mother struggled with drug use and died in 2016.

The Daily Star reported Eminem took in the youngster so she could grow up in a stable family environment. It meant Alaina could grow up in a loving home alongside Hailie and Stevie, Eminem and Kim.

Speaking previously, Alaina told fans on Instagram: “I didn’t start calling my aunt and uncle mum and dad until I was older but having a meshed family is what’s always been normal to me. Side note; just because you birth a child or provide the sperm for a child doesn’t make you a parent.

However, Alaina’s mum, Dawn, was found dead in January 2016 following an accidental overdose. In order to distance Alaina from the heartache, Eminem legally changed her surname to Mathers upon adoption, but she’s known publicly by her birth name.

Despite being his adopted daughter, Alaina refers to Eminem as uncle, a fact he acknowledged in his song Mockingbird, saying “Lainey, uncle’s crazy ain’t he, yeah but he loves you girl and you better know it,” with Alaina previously publicly acknowledging the 52-year-old as her father figure.

In a 2004 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Eminem opened up about his children, stating: “I have full custody of my niece and joint custody of Hailie. I was always there for Hailie, and my niece has been a part of my life ever since she was born. Me and Kim pretty much had her, she’d live with us wherever we were at.”

Alaina also chose a different career path from her famous father, going into academia instead of music. She studied Public Relations at the University of Oakland, graduating on April 27, 2017.

At the time, Alaina took to Instagram to share photos from her graduation day. One snap saw her posing with a graduation cap, embellished with the words: “1st generation grad. Thanks mom & dad,” while another showed her spraying a bottle of champagne in celebration.”

The mum-to-be tends to leave her famous dad out of her social media posts but one Father’s Day, she shared a snap of Eminem’s back while he wore a personalised T-shirt that read: “The best kind of father raises an ADP daughter”.

Alongside the post, she wrote: “It’s true and I got the best one out there.” Alaina tied the knot back in 2023 with her long-term boyfriend Matt after being together for seven years prior.

The special day was held in Detroit and all her family joined in on the celebrations. Alaina tends to spend her free time visiting various exotic places. Last year she and her husband travelled over to Southern Europe where they took in the sights and visited Rome, Italy.

Kerry Katona has opened up about welcoming a new baby into her family and said that her kids would be happy for her if she decided to have another baby with her boyfriend, who is 10 years younger. While discussing her relationship with new boyfriend Paolo Margaglione, whom she met on Celebs Go Dating this summer, Kerry gushed over how ‘smooth’ her relationship has been.

Kerry made the admission as she gave her opinion on Jamie Redknapp having another baby with his new wife, Frida, and how his eldest son, from a previous relationship, wasn’t best pleased. While Kerry said she ‘understands’ that it can be difficult when you ‘have children with new partners’, she is ‘lucky’ as her kids would be ‘happy’ for her to have a baby with Paolo.

Kerry said: “Jamie Redknapp said last week that his eldest son wasn’t a bit happy when he told him he was going to have a baby with his now-wife, Frida. I completely understand how hard it can be when you have children with new partners and try to blend them into the family. But it seems like everything has worked out for them now. I’m quite lucky in that respect with my family.”

She added in her weekly column with new! magazine: “Everything has gone so smoothly with me and Paolo. I’m definitely open to having more kids – and I know my children would be happy for me, if that was the case.”

It follows after Kerry opened up on her new ‘blended family’, sharing how their children have bonded instantly. Kerry says things are going “perfectly” so far as they spend more time together, in between her ongoing tour with Katie Price.

She said last week: “This week I’ve been super busy touring, but I did have a day with Paolo and the kids, my lot and his two girls, which was lovely. I love spending time with his girls; it’s such a nice feeling to have little ones around again. We’ve blended our families together seamlessly, and everything fits into place perfectly”.

The Atomic Kitten star has been up and down the country with her best mate Katie Price, as they spill all on their lives in the spotlight with the show ‘An Evening with Katie & Kerry’. While the pair appear to be having a blast for the most part, at a recent gig in Shrewsbury, things didn’t go as planned as Kerry later revealed how she had a ‘severe panic attack’ and was forced to leave the stage.

The mum-of-four explained how she normally would take pictures with fans after her show, but had to rush into her car and drive home. Kerry was flooded with support from her understanding fans.

One said: “Wishing you well Kerry. You are a brave lady and by talking about your experiences will help so many.” Another added: “Big love Kerry I have panic attacks and they are not nice and can hit you at any time, even when ur feeling ok and like your doing well.”

A Britain’s Got Talent singer, who was praised by Simon Cowell on the show, has died. Dave Betton, 82, performed on the show in 2020 with his son Dean, even though he retired from singing a decade earlier.

The father-son duo got to the later stages of the competition after receiving a standing ovation for their performance of Frank Sinatra’s That’s Life. Amanda Holden told them they “smashed it”, while Simon Cowell paid them an extra special compliment.

“There are certain days I think what I need is a mug of hot chocolate,” the judge said. “And you were that mug of hot chocolate. You made me feel good and I needed that.”

Dave began covering Frank Sinatra and the other Rat Pack stars on stage as a teenager. By 1981, when he was in his 30s, Dave and his wife Josie bought the Dorchester Hotel in Blackpool, where he started his professional career as a club singer.

The singer became a well-known name in the local club scene and performed at many up and down the coast. He also did a tour in Australia and South Africa, and did a brief stint in Las Vegas.

15 years ago, a whole decade before he would perform for Britain on the hit ITV show, Dave retired from the music scene after the death of his wife. Meanwhile, their son, Dean, became a musician and created a career as a Robbie Williams tribute act. In 2020, Dave and Dean went on Britain’s Got Talent together.

After his father’s death last month, Dean, 54, shared: “I always looked up to Dad and he inspired me to take up singing, quite late in the game. He was definitely a local legend in his time – he would pack out the clubs.

“I wanted him to experience a big live TV audience, even though he’d retired, and when we got such a huge response on Britain’s Got Talent, I was made up. I felt so proud of him, he knocked them out. The tributes he has received this last week on my post about his death on Facebook has been phenomenal with over 400 messages.”

Dave is survived by two sons, Dean and Darren, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter. One of his grandsons is also dipping his toe in the music industry.

Dave died surrounded by his loved ones. Living in sheltered accommodation in Lytham at the time, he died from sepsis after a brief illness. His funeral will be held on 27 October.

Meanwhile, auditions for Britain’s Got Talent have returned to Blackpool. The Winter Gardens are hosting the opportunity for the local performers to show off their skills from 10-17 October.
