Die-hard EastEnders fans will never forget Ali Osman. Nejdet Adamson, a member of the original cast of the much-loved British soap, played the character and became a household name in Walford some 40 years ago before he jetted off to chase his Hollywood dreams. During his time on Albert Square, Ali was embroiled in intense storylines involving marital breakdowns, the grief of losing a child, and a troubling gambling addiction.

He also ran the café, then-known as Al’s Café, alongside his wife Sue, played by actress Sandy Ratcliff – and later started a taxi firm, OzCabs, alongside his brother Mehmet, running it from a corner table in the café. Sadly, Sandy – who was also an original cast member – died alone in sheltered housing from an accidental overdose, back in 2019. She was 70 years old.

After leaving EastEnders, 66 year old Nejdet made a dramatic career switch from Walford to Hollywood, landing a role as a short sailor in the blockbuster hits Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and its sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006).

Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl pulled in a whopping 654.3 million USD, while its sequel, Dead Man’s Chest, amassed a global total of $1.066 billion. Post-EastEnders, he bagged a role in Carry On Columbus as Fayid, sharing the spotlight with comedy icon Rik Mayall.

But he hasn’t been shy about discussing his professional struggles, confessing on the soap’s 25th anniversary in 2010: “I have had to live with Ali for 25 years. I’m just trying to get on with my life.” Maintaining a low profile, he added: “I don’t give interviews. I am still acting but it is hard when everyone I’m still Ali from the café,” reports OK!.

Nej also popped up in two episodes of TV comedy drama Auf Wiedersehen Pet, and has had parts in Doctor Who and Wall of Silence (2004). While juggling the life of a small-time actor, Nejdet even briefly moved to Hollywood in 1990.

Tinseltown, however, was not exactly what the actor had hoped it would be. His marriage to Susan Stevens, his love of drama, came to an end in 1990, just one year after their union.

Nejdet and Linda Davidson, who played Mary Smith in the TV series EastEnders, had a lull relationship before getting married to Stevens. He has recently appeared in the horror film Heckle and previously appeared in the crime drama Sleep Warm.

The actor has a personal net worth of between £1 million and £5 million, according to estimates. After his time on EastEnders ended in 1989, he changed his name to Nej Adamson. He calls London home for the long term.

David Beckham’s friend details family move that ‘makes Peltzes look pretty awful’

Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham moved into a new, £11 million five-bedroom home in Beverly Hills, California, with her husband’s money, which her wealthy parents had given her.

David and Victoria Beckham have today been lauded as “sensible parents” for “instilling work ethic in their children”.

A friend of the family praised the way the couple, who have four children, “never forget where they came from” and made a savage contrast to Nicola Peltz’s family. Her parents, including US billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, are thought to have gifted her the money to buy her and husband Brooklyn Beckham’s new £11 million five-bedroom home in Beverly Hills, California.

It led to Nelson, 82, and wife Claudia to accuse David and Victoria of being “tight with their cash” for not following their example and providing their eldest child with a home. However, the family friend hit back at this criticism, insisting David and Beckham – who wed in 1999 in Ireland – actually have come out the spat glowing.

Where is the motivation to work on your own two feet, they say? Do the Peltzes realize David and Victoria’s objections to not purchasing Brooklyn and Nicola a home are real? It is obvious that the Beckhams believe it to be true, but the Peltzes do not.

The Peltzes appear to be awful for having just spoilt their daughter because all this only serves to demonstrate that they are wise parents who have instilled a work ethic in their children. What message does that convey?

READ MORE: Real reason Brooklyn Beckham has chosen to set up home in LA with Nicola Peltz laid bare

Despite their estimated joint wealth of £500million, Posh and Becks are understood to have always tried hard to keep their children grounded. However, Brooklyn, 26, agreed to move to Beverly Hills after Nelson, who has 10 children, offered to pay for the property, as it is said the place has “always felt like home to Brooklyn”. He spent time at school there when his dad played for LA Galaxy, for whom he made 98 appearances.

According to sources close to the Peltz family, Nelson, the founder of an alternative investment management fund, “threw money at anything and everything” when his children were growing up. It completely contrasts with the parenting and upbringing of Victoria and Beckham. David, now 50, was raised in a modest semi in Chingford, East London, with his father, a gas fitter, and his mother, Sandra, a hairdresser. Victoria, 51, was raised in Harlow, Essex, a more middle-class family, but she wasn’t exactly a millionaire.

The source told Mail Online: “David and Victoria, like Nelson, are self-made. But they value that and never forget where they came from. They have both made a huge number of sacrifices to get to where they are.”

Love Island UK winner reveals why she thinks US reality TV shows do better

One Love Island champion is unhappy with the change, which has evolved from savage showdowns and shady one-liners to a more polished PR-safe version over the years.

Amber Gill has slammed ‘overly sensitive’ UK reality TV viewers.

Former Love Island winner Amber Rose Gill has hit out at the current state of UK reality TV, claiming it’s become too “soft” and over-policed by viewers who get offended over everything. In a fiery social media rant, the 2019 champ said the reason reality telly is “dead” is because people can’t say anything without backlash – calling out recent outrage over a Love Island contestant saying another girl was “too glamorous for a 9-5”.

Amber yelled, “You can’t say that! You’re too glamorous for a 9-5!” she said. “I just saw articles about a girl. Everyone must grasp me, “I need them to get some grips.”

The rant came after viewers’ complaints(Image: amberrosegill/Instagram)

She continued, “God forbid you to say anything offensive because they come f**ing media trained.” I can’t recall what I said, and trust me, I say it in private.

Amber has always been known for her sharp tongue and unfiltered opinions, and she has always clashed with islanders like Michael Griffiths and sparked heated debate on the show.

Amber is living proof that she isn’t just shouting into the void. After Michael Griffiths pied her off in Casa Amor, she famously argued with him after his backtracking was labeled “childish” and holding nothing back during her season. Every word was glued to the viewers’ ink. And Amber didn’t sugarcoat a thing on national television calling her a “dead ting” when Joanna Chimonides returned to the villa.

But while her straight-talking ways earned her backlash with some calling her a “bully” – the public still crowned her the winner. In fact, she was caught in the middle of one of the show’s biggest ever blow-ups, when bestie Anna Vakili erupted at Jordan Hames in scenes that producers later called one of the loudest in Love Island history. For Amber, those raw, messy moments were what made the show real and she reckons that kind of telly just wouldn’t happen today.

You want to know what’s going through my head, I say. If you believe that to be true, she continued, “I need everyone to get in the groove and just enjoy it for entertainment value.”

Amber’s remarks come as a result of a growing debate over how sanitized reality television are and how less experienced contestants are afraid to speak up for fear of being “cancelled.”

Meghan Markle claims new As Ever wine and £21 honey has nearly sold out already

Apricot spread and limited edition orange blossom honey are currently available for purchase from Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. They cost £21 per jar.

Meghan Markle has claimed her brand’s new food products – including a £21-per-jar honey – have almost sold out within hours of release.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has expanded her As Ever range with several new items, including a rosé wine, an apricot spread and the limited edition orange blossom honey. She said most of the first batches of these treats almost sold out within minutes of release, a claim which left some fans and critics puzzled.

Social media users went online to suggest the former actress was “playing the ‘sold out’ game”, an approach they say salespeople use to encourage customers to swiftly part with cash. However, Prince Harry’s wife did enjoy success with the first release of products under the brand – with the likes of a jam, honey, herbal teas and flower sprinkles all snaffled within hours.

Meghan claims in an Instagram video that she wishes she had “so much more inventory” when suggesting that this was the case again. She continues, “We are almost sold out on everything, and I can’t believe it. I appreciate everyone.

The mother of two explains in the video how, just like in April, flower sprinkles have resurrected as the most popular item. The flower sprinkles and apricot spread are the most frequently “sold out” items on As Ever’s website.

But trolls are still not convinced, writing on Twitter (formerly X) they felt Meghan was assuming “people were stupid”. One person posted: “She is playing the ‘sold out’ game and thinking we are all stupid. You fool no one Meghan Markle.”

Another person said, “Wait, the only thing she didn’t change was the apricot spread.” WTF. After 20 minutes, it was sold out. Meghan must believe that people are truly stupid. Another critic retorted, “Wow they have super small quantities,” among other harsh digs. The apricot and tea are already sold out.

Meghan goes on to say in full that “we made sure we had so much more inventory.” We took the time, and you guys are doing it once more because of this. Nearly everything we have purchased is sold out. Even the flower sprinkles, which I was anticipating would be the big one again, are unbelievable. That is also about to sell out, and that has more inventory than all of it.

Hailey Bieber divorce rumours are rampant after she was spotted without her wedding ring

The disturbing sighting comes as rumors grow that the supermodel is planning to divorce her husband, Justin Bieber, after his troubling behavior in public, including bizarre outbursts.

The supermodel kept her left hand in tact all night, putting a dent in rumors that her marriage to Justin might not be as successful.

As she left the West Village and grabbed breakfast at The Commerce Inn, Hailey, 28, appeared glum and put her bare left hand and her largely empty ring finger on display.

She appeared tense as she exited a black SUV outside the restaurant while wearing a khaki trench coat and dark sunglasses.

Paps placed her naked ring finger in front of her, making sure her left arm was raised the entire time.

Her left hand was once more fully visible as she brushed her hair back for the cameras.

The $ 500, 000 rock was unrecognizable, and it wasn’t just a one-time purchase.

Katie Piper’s frank marriage update and why she needed a ‘relationship MOT’

The Loose Women favorite exposes the difficulties that the happy couple faced in their relationship and explains why therapy was necessary.

Katie Piper shares what made her feel “seen and heard” during her ten-year marriage.

Katie Piper has opened up about using couples therapy to strengthen her marriage. More than ten years later, the campaigner and presenter, who has been dating Richard Sutton since 2013, said the couple are still working on their relationship.

Describing it as a “relationship MOT”, Katie, 41, says it’s been key to keeping their marriage on track. “I’ve had therapy in lots of ways that people wouldn’t [expect],” she explained. “Therapy for the burn injury stopped years ago. I’ve had therapy since for normal things in life that people go through that aren’t visible. I’ve been to couples therapy with Rich. It’s like a relationship MOT and it helps because it validates what you’re going through.”

Loose Women star Katie says it’s helped her feel “seen and heard”. “It’s healthy for your marriage and friendships,” advocates the mum-of-two. “Relationships go through different seasons. You see him as your boyfriend, then he’s your husband, then you see him as a dad. It sounds a bit cliché and overused, but Rich has got a lot of kindness at his core.”

The couple, who both have 11-year-old daughters, and seven-year-old Penelope, say Katie would be happy to grow their family. Katie claims they have been discussing fostering and adoption after unsuccessfully attempting to adopt a third child. Katie admits, “I am aware that the kids would love a second child.” Before I turned 40, we made an attempt on our own, but it was unwise. We discussed whether IVF, adoption, and fostering would be the best options. Because I was like, “I’m done with medical stuff,” I would prefer to foster and adopt.

The household has grown recently – with the addition of a dog. “The kids have always wanted a dog and [this year] we rehomed one from Battersea, through Alison Hammond on For the Love of Dogs,” Katie told woman&home magazine in a new intereview. “It’s like having a newborn but it’s good for the kids. It has given them something to pour their responsibility into.”

Katie survived a sulphuric acid attack by an ex-boyfriend when she was 24. She suffered severe scarring to her face, chest, neck, arm and hands, and has undergone more than 250 operations. She became a campaigner after the 2008 horror. She recently said she “never thought she’d make it to 40” after the devastating attack.

Katie says women should embrace getting older while sharing her thoughts on the pressures women are subject to in terms of beauty. I was taken out in seconds at age 24 because, in my opinion, women frequently feel like they vanish from the male gaze.

No one goes through such a rapid transition, which is why it was traumatic and unnatural. It’s [about] exploring where you sit with that and how that affects how you operate and your identity because society values beauty and youth.

Women shouldn’t be afraid of transition, I say. They should not be rigid, but malleable. I want them to know that there is hope after all and not feel constrained by their circumstances. “Now that I’m in my [my] 40s, I realize that this is the period of my life when I’ve truly lived.
