Everything you need to know about Bob Vylan’s IDF chant as BBC faces ‘prosecution’ calls

The BBC has been told to “must explain” why it didn’t stop chanting “death to the IDF” at Saturday’s Glastonbury show from Pro-Palestine act Bob Vylan.

The BBC could be prosecuted over rapper Bob Vylan’s “appalling” comments after he called for the death of Israeli soldiers at Glastonbury. The corporation has been told it must explain why it failed to cut away from the rap duo’s live set after the band led chants of “death to the IDF” on Saturday.

After criticizing the “appalling hate speech” in which the Pro-Palestine band also sung chants “from the river to the sea, Palestine must be, will be, free” on the festival’s West Holts Stage, Prime Minister Keir Starmer also demanded answers from the BBC.

Before the BBC eventually removed Vylan’s set, it was uploaded to iPlayer and remained there for more than five hours. The organization did, however, issue a warning about “very strong and discriminatory language.”

Danny Cohen, a former director of the BBC, predicted that the failure to cut away from the rapper would “shiver in the Jewish community of the UK”

According to a BBC spokesman, “some of the comments made during Bob Vylan’s set were incredibly offensive. A warning was posted on screen about the very strong and discriminatory language used during this livestream on iPlayer, which reflected what was happening on stage. No intention is being made to provide the performance on demand.

Why might the BBC face legal challenges?

After Bob Vylan’s performance was live-streamed on the BBC’s iPlayer site, Keir Starmer claimed that the BBC had “serious questions to answer.” Following the rapper’s chanting “death, death to the IDF”-referring to the Israeli Defence Force that was performed by punk duo Boby Vylan during their performance, the organization could face an investigation into whether it has broken public order laws.

Broadcasting information that calls for the death of a person or group is prohibited under the Public Order Act of 1986. It can serve a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.

The BBC may have “broadcast unlawful material,” according to Lord Carlile, despite the free speech and anti-Israel sentiments that are made.

The top attorney added, “I would be interested to know whether the BBC sought legal counsel, and if so, what that legal counsel was.” They may have broadcast unlawful content under section 22 of the Public Order Act, which I find very troubling.

After the comments were broadcast, and what transpired during Kneecap’s set, Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp demanded that the organization be subject to a police investigation. He claimed that the BBC “violates the law” by broadcasting Bob Vylan’s vile hatred. I urge the police to conduct an immediate investigation and prosecution.

The police are conducting an investigation.

Detectives from Avon and Somerset Police, who are tasked with policing Glastonbury, are currently reviewing the performance’s footage. The police force stated that “we are aware of the remarks made this afternoon by acts at Glastonbury Festival’s West Holts Stage.”

Officers will examine video evidence to determine whether any crimes might have presupposed a criminal investigation have been committed.

A spokesperson for the government said they “strongly condemn” Bob Vylan’s threatening remarks at Glastonbury. The Culture Secretary thanked the decision to re-broadcast the performance to BBC iPlayer and stated that she had spoken to the BBC Director General to request an urgent explanation of what due diligence was done.

What is the statement of Glastonbury?

Emily Eavis, the rapper’s hostess at Glastonbury, wrote in a statement that the comments “crossed a line.” There is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech, or incitement to violence, she wrote, “Their chants very much crossed a line, and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the Festival.”

While “as a festival, we stand against all forms of war and terrorism – we will always believe in – and actively campaign for – hope, unity, peace, and love,” she continued, adding that a performer’s comments “should never be seen as a tacit endorsement of their opinions and beliefs.”

With almost 4, 000 performances at Glastonbury in 2025, “there will undoubtedly be artists and speakers on our stages who’s not sharing our views,” added Eavis.

What was Bob Vylan’s response?

In addition to addressing issues of racism, masculinity, and class, Bob Vylan, who formed in Ipswich in 2017, has released four albums. Despite reports, Bobby Vylan’s real name is 34-year-old Pascal Robinson-Foster.

Posting on Instagram, Vylan told his fans that he had been “inundated” with a mixture of “support and hatred” following the performance but that he stood by what he said and is calling for “a change in foreign policy” despite the the Israeli Embassy saying it was “deeply disturbed by the inflammatory and hateful rhetoric expressed on stage at the Glastonbury Festival”.

The musician wrote in a lengthy statement that read, “I said what I said,” that my daughter is typing loudly into a school survey to ask her about the state of her school dinners right now as I lay in bed this morning, my phone buzzing nonstop, inundated with messages of both support and hatred.

“She expressed that she would like healthier meals, more options and dishes inspired by other parts of the world. Listening to her voice her opinions on a matter that she cares about and affects her daily, reminds me that we may not be doomed after all.”

The only way to improve the world is to teach our children to speak up for the changes they need and want. It is crucial that we encourage and inspire future generations to carry the torch that was given to us as we get older and our fire may start to dwindle as a result of the suffocation of adult life and all its responsibilities.

After her partner, 39-year-old Julian Story, was discovered decapitated in their South Australian home on June 19 following a minor blaze, former reality TV personality Tamika Sueann-Rose Chesser is the subject of a grisly murder investigation. Following an investigation by the authorities, 34-year-old beauty and the geek star Tamika was arrested on suspicion of murder.

According to reports, Julian’s charred and headless remains have been discovered in the bathroom of their Port Lincoln residence, and the detectives are still putting pieces together the puzzle of whereabouts. They are primarily looking for his missing head. Tamika’s arrest took place just 48 hours after her discovery, when police discovered her while she was sat motionless in a garden and appeared catatonic, according to legal documents.

According to The Telegraph’s briefing, Tamika is also accused of assaulting a police officer and meddling with human remains to obstruct justice.

Amidst their ongoing inquiry, officials have prompted the general public to provide assistance in locating Julian’s severed head, which they attest was detached subsequent to his supposed slaying in the late hours of June 17, reports the Daily Star.

Without going into great detail, Detective Superintendent Darran Fielke stated at a press briefing, “I can tragically say that we have not recovered the head of Julian Story.”

The senior detective also urged the public to comprehend the grief Julian’s family is experiencing during this ordeal: “I can only imagine, and I want you to imagine, the grief this news is causing Julian’s family.”

He asserted that the force’s main goal is to retrieve Julian’s head. He stated that “recovering Julian’s head and bringing it back to his family so they can have a peaceful outcome, have a funeral, and lay him to rest is a really important part of our lives.”

No clear cause for Tamika’s actions were revealed after she was discovered unconscious and under arrest.

Police are appealing to the woman for information on where Julian’s missing head is located as she is being sought after her dog was discovered on surveillance following the alleged murder.

I’m asking local residents to check any CCTV or dash cam footage that they may have in order to help with the investigation, according to Detective Superintendent Fielke in a plea.

In a significant turn of events, Magistrate Ben Sale on Friday revoked a previous court order that prevented Tamika’s identification and the details of the case.

Additionally, this action makes it possible to track down the status of the investigation and the allegations.

Tamika was denied bail and is still being held in a mental health detention facility after she was linked to a video link in court.

What is the sign for “”?

In January 2000, Meg and Noel welcomed their only child, daughter Anais, in Las Vegas after getting married in June 1997. However, after Noel allegedly cheated on her with his second wife Sara MacDonald in the 2000 Ibiza nightclub Space, they were divorced in 2001.

Although Meg claimed she had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of the divorce, according to reports, she received a $ 4 million divorce settlement. It is said that Hard-partying Meg, who was a member of Kate Moss and Sadie Frost’s infamous Primrose Hill set, had a meltdown.

“I once experience terrible PTSD.” I was the third woman author in the country in 1997. The Spice Girls, Lady Diana, and I were involved.

Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms include anxiety, nightmares, and sleeping difficulties. In 2007, Meg admitted she had gotten too boozy and that her behavior had gotten out of hand.

It was then she decided to stop partying – but rehab also helped her finally come to terms with her divorce. She told The Sun: “I was in my early 40s when I realised that partying wasn’t for me any more and I had to get myself into a better situation.

You can’t continue to live that way forever, drinking and staying up all night, not eating well, and not eating well. There are times when enough is enough, but I don’t regret any of them. I don’t want to stutter around in 55 years.

She continued, “My divorce hadn’t been resolved. Noel and I both caused me heartache, but I couldn’t let anyone know how much it had hurt me. So I kept feigning it would matter for five years. I had to learn to let go of everything, from the rage to the bitterness to the emotion.

Meg still has well-known menopause campaigners in her day job like Kate Moss, but she still leads a quieter life in Cornwall. Since she’s reportedly single these days, a Meg and Noel reunion might be in order. Fans are enraged by it.

Sustainability influencer slams Kate Moss’ ‘overpriced’ Glastonbury-inspired Zara range

Dr. Brett Staniland, a sustainable fashion editor, criticizes Kate Moss and Zara’s festival-inspired collection as being “overpriced” and “plastic” and says Gen Z won’t be interested.

A sustainable fashion influencer is calling out Kate Moss and Zara for trying to ‘cheat-code’ their way into a festival edit – completely missing the point of festival dressing. The new collection is “overpriced” and “plastic” according to Dr Brett Staniland, who has accused Zara of haute-washing.

Fast fashion companies make an effort to use marketing and aesthetics to convey to consumers a confused sense of craftsmanship, similar to greenwashing.

Kate Moss partnered with Zara for a second-time, launching a festival-inspired collection on the heels of Glastonbury. The collection features waistcoats, a silk print dress, camisoles, and shorts.

Moss’ Glastonbury style – much like Alexa Chung’s – was era-defining, but Dr Staniland has claimed that Zara is using the famous icon to cover up a low-effort and plastic-heavy collection.

Dr Staniland – known better as TwinBrett on social media – took to TikTok to share his take on the new collection. He told his 31.3k followers that the collection “continues Zara’s and the rest of fast fashion’s ‘haute-washing’; using high-end people and aesthetics to appear more luxury than they are.”

Many businesses increased their investment in high-end products and aesthetic rebrands to monopolize the “quiet luxury” trend without actually investing in top-notch craftsmanship or materials.

Dr. Staniland says, “I don’t know who they’re designing this for.” Gen Z “don’t really care about this style, and I’d even suggest that Kate Moss isn’t that interesting to them.”

He also mentions that thrifting and re-wearing items from years past are at the heart of festival attire. I doubt that festivalgoers will be spending money on these kinds of clothes because it isn’t a glam fest for most people outside of the VIP ropes.

The collection is woefully lacking on the sustainability front, and it also falls short of festival-inspired standards. The collection’s “silk” and “lace” shorts, which are made of only 17% silk and have a 100% polyester lining, are praised by Dr. Staniland, who claims, “plastic weaves its way all the way through this collection.”

Without prior authorization, content cannot be displayed.

The collection is composed of “overpriced, plastic, fast-fashion items” says Dr Staniland, who calls it a “blatant cash-grab” for both Kate Moss and Zara who think they have “cheat-coded their way to easy sales”. The Mirror has reached out to Zara about Dr Staniland’s claims.

Dr Staniland’s advises those looking to get festival-inspired clothes to explore the second-hand market. Ahead of Glastonbury, The Mirror heard from veteran thrifters to understand how they curate their festival looks.

Evie McCarthy, a 24-year-old experienced thrift-shopper, reveals she enjoys wearing both vintage and handmade items. According to Evie, “My favorite pieces of clothing have come from Glastonbury Oxfam stores.”
