The conclave of the fashion world is kicking off with a LinkedIn job posting. A week after Anna Wintour announced she will be stepping back as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue US, the publication’s parent company Condé Nast took to the networking site to open the door for her replacement.

With an image captioned “WE ARE HIRING” Condé Nast posted on its LinkedIn page: “Condé Nast is hiring a Head of Editorial Content for U.S Vogue.” The post included an email address for keen candidates to reach out to the prominent leadership consulting agency, Spencer Stuart.

“If you are interested, please reach out by email with your resume to condenast@spencerstuart.com” the post concluded. It was unsurprisingly vague, with no information on job qualifications, job description or salary information. There is also no posting for the position as of yet on the Condé Nast job site.

The likelihood that Vogue US will choose its Head of Editorial Content from LinkedIn is fairly slim. Maybe only slightly more plausible than the next pope being recruited through LinkedIn.

Even the keenest of fashion journalists and students found it difficult to take the posting seriously, with the comments descending into speculation on the successor and Devil Wears Prada memes. “On LinkedIn lol. The ultimate job troll post” wrote one user. “Can’t wait for us to hear about the replacement they 100% selected before posting this and we find out it’s a big name who probably hasn’t seen a job application in decades,” commented on PR specialist.

The new head will undoubtedly be chosen in the upper echelons of Condé Nast and a prerequisite for consideration being an established bond with Wintour.

In her 37-year reign as Editor-in-Chief, Wintour has fostered a reputation for being heavily involved in every link of the publication’s production and wields a heavy influence at Condé Nast as well, serving as Chief Content Officer.

The new successor will take charge of the magazine’s daily operations and shape its creative and editorial direction. They will notably not take on Wintour’s former title of Editor-in-Chief, but the title of Head of Editorial Content.

While many have speculated that Wintour’s ego had to do with the difference in title, the same change occurred at British Vogue in 2023. After Edward Enniful left his role as EIC after six years, he was replaced by Chioma Nnadi as Head of Editorial Content for the publication.

That said, Wintour will oversee HOECs at all Vogues in her capacity as Chief Content Officer for Condé Nast. The new HOEC for Vogue US will report directly to Wintour as well. In an article announcing Wintour’s departure, Vogue wrote that the addition of a new editorial lead for Vogue US will “allow Wintour greater time and flexibility to support the other global markets that Condé Nast serves”.

Rumours have been swirling for a week about Wintour will select to lead Vogue US in its next chapter. British Vogue’s Chioma Nnadi is rumoured to be the front-runner for the role, given her longstanding relationship with Wintour and history with Condé Nast.

Sharing the news of her departure with Vogue staff on June 26, Wintour said: “Anybody in a creative field knows how essential it is never to stop growing in one’s work. When I became the editor of Vogue, I was eager to prove to all who might listen that there was a new, exciting way to imagine an American fashion magazine.

“Now, I find that my greatest pleasure is helping the next generation of impassioned editors storm the field with their own ideas, supported by a new, exciting view of what a major media company can be. And that is exactly the kind of person we need to now look for to be HOEC for US Vogue.”

As reported by Vogue, many of Wintour’s responsibilities at the US publication would remain the same: “including paying very close attention to the fashion industry and the creative cultural force that is our extraordinary Met Ball and charting the course of future Vogue Worlds and any other original fearless ideas we may come up with. And it goes without saying that I plan to remain Vogue’s tennis and theater editor in perpetuity.

“But how thrilling it will be,” she concluded, “to work alongside someone new who will challenge us, inspire us, and make us all think about Vogue in a myriad of original ways.”

She reveals the highs and lows of parenting on Instagram, not holding back on the demanding nature of raising children. She describes their time since welcoming the new addition as both incredibly joyous yet “overwhelming.”

In an emotional post, she penned: “The first six weeks of Poppy. The last few weeks have been a real rollercoaster but overwhelmingly, very happy indeed.

“There has been [very] little sleep, quite a few tears and even a dash to hospital. Some days it’s a struggle to even get dressed in the morning, given Pop wants to be held all the time.

“In these pics I look vaguely presentable but most days I’m rocking the mum bun, have huge dark circles under my eyes and am wearing clothes covered in baby vomit.

“BUT here are some of the highlights – introducing Pop to friends and family, celebrating birthdays and even taking her to Warwick for my university reunion. Now all four kids are home for summer, the real chaos begins!”

Oasis’ Bonehead reveals truth behind nickname after parents’ utterly brutal decision

Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs is a legend on Oasis, but not everyone understands why he is called that. In this article, he explains everything.

Oasis’ much-anticipated tour kicks off on Friday(Image: Getty Images)

It is the great nickname in Oasis – but the reason why guitarist Paul Arthurs is called Bonehead goes back to his childhood.

The 60-year-old owes his moniker to his parents and their hatred of long hair, before he was playing gigs with Noel and Liam Gallagher.

Taking up the story in the Oasis book Supersonic, Paul said: “I probably got the name Bonehead when I was eight.

I didn’t have long hair in 1973, which was the traditional style at the time, but most people in my primary school did. They have no long hair in our house, and it was straight down the barbers every Friday, you know, typical Irish Catholic parents.

They gave me the 50 pence, and I had to go down. Describe it. Your short back and sides, please? ‘.

On our street, there is no longer any hair. So I shortened myself from eight years old. Some kids say, “Ah, look at the bonehead! “, you know. ‘. That was it.

Oasis guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs

“When I entered secondary school, even the teachers called me Bonehead, and even when they were enraged, Bonehead, it wasn’t “Arthur’s.” You first became aware of your problems at that point. Bonehead was the surname you were given when you first learned it, and it has always been so.

The guitarist acknowledged that he had experimented with the name a little since he had been in Oasis and when they were getting big and doing interviews because of the straightforward nature of the nickname Bonehead.

He continued, “When we became very well-known, we used to conduct interviews in France, and people want to know why I was called Bonehead.” I used to constantly remind them that my family history had been preserved. The Bonehead was short for me, and my real name is Bonaparte Headimas. People adored it.

Noel and Liam Gallagher and Bonehead have remained close friends throughout their ups and downs, which is unusual for a member of the Oasis inner circle. Although the Gallaghers adore Manchester City, Bonehead is a red, and even that makes them uneasy.

Some insiders found him to be a “glue” that will keep this tour together in the event of conflicts.

When Bonehead was preparing for rehearsals, he has been sharing photos of his selection of Adidas trainers every day on social media. He has also been trying the welsh teacakes since arriving in Cardiff before the first night when he has been brewing in his spare time away from the stage.

After playing with Liam on his Definitely Maybe solo tour in 2024, Bonehead will be playing with them on the Oasis Live 25 tour. Andy will join Gem Archer and Andy Bell on bass for the massive sold-out shows.
