Joey Essex is being probed over the collapse of his management firm. The former TOWIE favourite’s firm has been forced into liquidation after failing to pay huge debts of £1.2m, mostly due to the taxman.

Accounting firms looking into Joey Essex Management Ltd. say they will now look into company director Joey in new documents sent to Companies House.

The Liquidators will now be required to look into the affairs of the Company to assess its assets and liabilities and identify any actions that might result in the liquidation’s ability to recover funds, according to the documents.

According to the Company Directors Disqualification Act, “We are also required to take into account the conduct of the Company’s director and to submit an appropriate, confidential submission to the Insolvency Service.”

Joey, 35, is the company’s only director and shareholder. He set it up in 2011 when he joined Towie. He has banked millions from other shows, including Educating Joey Essex, Celebs Go Dating, Dancing on Ice and Love Island.

The firm had cash and assets of almost £1m just two years ago. Now the outfit is being wound up by a liquidator who has revealed debts racked up by his business include £30,449 in VAT, £9,552 in PAYE, £402,302 in corporation tax, £15,000 to trade and expense creditors, and a £39,942 Covid bounce back loan. In total, the debt to creditors stands at £497,246. But Joey’s director’s loan account is also overdrawn by £780,000.

The report added that £350,000 of the cash has now been repaid to the firm’s coffers. Last August Joey signed a Declaration of Solvency document stating the company would pay back its debts back in full within a year. The reality star, who is trying his hand at boxing, was last month announced to appear on Gary Lineker ’s upcoming ITV gameshow The Box.

Through his agent, we reached out to Joey for a comment.

In March, he shut down another business, The Top TT Limited. He set it up in 2023, but it never filed accounts. He recently switched to boxing, which may help pay off his debts.

He landed a reported £500,000 pay day for his maiden fight. However his dream boxing debut could be under threat after his opponent announced plans to appeal the result. He stepped into the ring for the first time last month for the latest Misfits event.

On August 30 in Manchester, the TV personality defeated Portuguese influencer Numeiro to earn points. In the fourth and fifth rounds, Essex even overcame a standing count to claim the victory.

In a surprising twist, Numeiro revealed that he intends to appeal the outcome a few weeks after the fight. IFL TV’s Joao Barbosa, 27, said, “I really don’t want to cause any trouble, sound rude, or do anything wrong.

However, every time I rewatch a fight, every time I speak with a professional, a coach, a referee, a professional athlete, I always receive the same comments. That “could have never happen (Essex winning),” the thought came to mind. I don’t believe we would have gotten into a fight if they had given us a draw. Although it has been suggested, Barbosa insists that their first fight is more about getting a fair result. He wants a rematch to take place outside of the UK, if it ever occurs.

A mother whose two children were assassinated by their own father during a court-approved access visit has her support.

The Spice Girl and domestic abuse campaigner has endorsed Claire Throssell’s campaign to change family court guidelines after her sons were killed by her ex-husband when he deliberately set fire to the family home.

“Every day the government drags its heels on this, more and more women suffer – more and more women lose their lives, their kids, their future,” Mel said.

“Keir Starmer promised to do something about the violence against women,” he said in a letter to me. A complete strategy takes time, too. The truth is that survivors of domestic violence and refuges can’t wait for support, which can mean the difference between life and death.

Mel who has previously spoken of her own experience of domestic abuse, added: “Claire is one of the bravest women I know. She campaigns so hard but is living with heartbreak every day as her two sons were killed by her abuser, their own father – we cannot let this happen to anyone else.”

After igniting 14 separate fires around the house, he died in the fire but not before making sure his sons wouldn’t survive.

Claire, 53, had repeatedly warned social workers, the courts, and Cafcas – whose role is to represent the interests of children and young people in the family courts – that her abusive ex was capable of murder. Yet he was granted unsupervised access to his months and within months had killed them.

In 2016 Claire started the Child First campaign, supported by Women’s Aid, calling for guidelines in the family courts to be changed. The petition has now received over 110,000 signatures.

The heartbroken mum has now received the support of MPs to end the ‘presumption of contact’ – a family courts guideline that says children should spend time with both parents, even if there is a history of domestic abuse.

In January, Labour MP Marie Tidball, led a debate calling for a change in the law to remove the family court’s presumption of contact.

The family courts were already finding children were being put in danger by the HARM Panel’s report, which was released in 2020.

Another 19 children in England and Wales have been killed by a parent, or parental figure, who was granted access to them despite being the victims of domestic abuse, according to a recent Women’s Aid report.

According to the harrowing Nineteen More Child Homicides report, the oldest child was 11 and the youngest was three-weeks-old. In all but one case, a man killed 15 children by their own fathers, and the killer was a man.

The charity, which tracks child homicides, claims 67 children have died at the hands of perpetrators of domestic abuse over the last 30 years. At the recent Labour Party Conference, Claire called on the Prime Minister, to ‘keep children’ safe’. She was supported by several MPs who have promised to support Claire.

In a bid to overturn the presumption of contact between known domestic abusers and their children, Marie Tidball promised to keep pushing for crucial changes in the family courts. According to her, “MP Matthew Patrick also expressed his support for raising public awareness and educating the public about financial and economic abuse.”

After giving Claire a copy of her book, For My Boys, Alex Davies-Jones MP, the Minister for Victims and Violence Against Women and Girls, gave her a hand. I was invisible, unheard, and unprotected while enduring domestic abuse, according to Claire. In the end, MPs are listening to me because my two gorgeous boys, Jack and Paul, were taken from me in the cruelest of ways.

It means a lot to me, I can’t express in words. Uma Kumara, the Labour MP for Stratford and Bow, promised to order the book, and Emily Darlington MP said she hoped my book would inspire others.

In his final moments, Claire finds strength in reliving Jack’s bravery. She remarked, “In an effort to save Paul’s life, he pulled his brother from the attic hatchway with his strength.” As the fire fighters cradled him in their arms, Jack said, “My dad did this and he did it on purpose.”

Russ Langsford, 65, described the embarrassing incident where she unintentionally shared a private photo on her social media account for ITV’s Loose Women and claimed that it has helped her gain some respect from her son.

When she unintentionally posted a picture of a penis alongside a Mother’s Day tribute, Ruth Langsford was left red-faced as she recalled a comical incident.

Confessing her lack of tech-savviness, the TV presenter had good intentions when she shared a photo of herself and her family. She captioned it: “My wonderful Mum and big Sis. Thinking of those who no longer have their Mum’s….. you’ll always have memories x”.

She forgot to include a shocking amount of male nudity in her camera roll when she also uploaded the image as a screenshot. Oh my goodness, that’s what happened when she also took a screenshot. Even a shoe had one inside.

“Someone had sent me a cheeky photo of a man’s appendage in a shoe, but it wasn’t immediately noticeable. So I took a photo of me and my mum and didn’t realise that the photo gallery was below…” she explained on Loose Women a few years ago.

She insists that Eamonn Holmes, her husband, did not own the shady photo, and that they have since parted ways.
