Sam Rivers, the bassist of Limp Bizkit, has tragically died at the age of 48.

The band continued to pay tribute to Rivers, saying, “From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced. His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous. We shared so many moments – wild ones, quiet ones, beautiful ones – and every one of them meant more because Sam was there.”, reports the Mirror US.

He was a “once in a lifetime” type of person. They continued, “A true legend of legends.” His spirit will remain present in every song, movement, stage, and memory forever. Sam’s entire existence was centered around music. He co-starred with the band’s drummer, John Otto, throughout his teenage years. He didn’t come across Fred until the early 1990s, when both worked at the same Chick-fil-A.
