Love Island winner glad she ‘fell off’ fame train amid ‘anxiety inducing’ post-villa life

Amber Gill, the fifth-season winner of Love Island, said she was glad she “felt off” the fame train because it served as a wake-up call in the pressure of post-villain life.

Love Island winner Amber Gill has admitted that she’s glad she “fell off” the fame train after her appearance on the hit reality TV show.

Amber won series five of the show with ex-partner Greg O’Shea. She was in the villa with the likes of Tommy Fury, Molly-Mae Hague and Maura Higgins.

Amber and Greg broke up just five weeks after the pair won the prize money. Shortly after their split, Amber called herself the “first solo winner of Love Island”.

Amber reflected on her life both prior to and right after the show in an interview with her podcast Just Existing. She revealed that she had little to no experience and extreme pressure to produce content after gaining more than two million followers from her show appearance.

“[Before the show] I didn’t really post anything so it was throwing me very firmly into the deep end,” she said. “It was getting to the point where I was getting like 900,000 likes on an Instagram photo which is insane and I was still thinking, ‘Why is it not a million? How come I only got 2000 comments and why not 3000?'”

“I kind of felt like I needed to go a little off balance just to have a reality check and be grateful for what’s happening around us,” Amber continued. “I feel completely disconnected, and I think that time in my life was very anxious-inducing.”

Amber remarked that “a lot of pressure is on you to make sure you’re always doing what you’re supposed to do.”

She has collaborated with Misspap to create a clothing line since her appearance on the show. She was underrepresented in the media when she was younger, so she co-wrote a book called Until I Met You, which was based on a Black love story. In July 2022, the book was published.

One Summer in Miami, the 27-year-old woman from Newcastle, is set to publish her second fiction book. She discusses her appreciation for therapy, her most important life lessons, and her celebration and representation of queer joy.

Holly Hagan’s sister, 19, dies as she is left ‘traumatised in every sense’

Holly Hagan-Blyth has announced her 19-year-old sister has tragically died. The Geordie Shore star took to social media this morning to confirm that her sister, Darci, “passed away peacefully holding my hand surrounded by family & her best friends. She was never in any pain.”

The MTV reality star added: “The last 4 days have been something I hope no family ever has to go through. We are traumatised in every sense of the word. One day we will share Darci’s story.

“But for now I please ask that you do respect our privacy and allow us to process what has happened. I would like to ask the press to please refrain from speculating and writing stories that could further traumatise my family. They do not deserve that. I chose this job they did not.

“To the incredible ambulance crew, and everyone at Manchester Royal Infirmary A&E & ICU, thank you so much for giving my sister the absolute best chance. Because of you all we have had the opportunity to hold her hand, stroke her hair and feel her heart beating for the last time. We will forever be grateful for the way you have looked after her and us throughout this unimaginable process.

“Right now, my job is to support my family in any way that I can to ensure they don’t have to worry about work/finances. Any posts you see this month are pre-recorded and scheduled ahead of time. I will be continuing to work so they do not have to.”

Holly continued: “Darci is so beautiful and she genuinely didn’t even realise it. I always told her she’d look better without the huge spider lashes but we all know what a hypocrite I was being since I wore 9 pairs at her age! She lived in Darci world, forgetting to turn lights off, didn’t know how to lock doors after coming in from a night out, leaving the freezer open so my mam came down to a puddle of defrosted food.

“She was the best aunty, Alpha-Jax adored her. She spent his whole birthday on the bouncy castle with AJ and Alba, and that’s a memory I’ll cherish forever. She wanted to go into social work, after finding a passion for helping children. And I just know she’s looking after all the babies up there

“I don’t know if I’m behaving in a way I assumed I would when grieving but I genuinely feel she has given me so much strength and is watching over us all as our guardian angel. We love you so much baby girl. Forever 19.”

Holly’s tragic announcement was flooded with messages of condolences from fans and her friends. Charlotte’s close friend and former Geordie Shore co-star, Charlotte Crosby said: “I’m blessed to have known such a beautiful girl! Alpha Jaxs birthday will be how I will remember your beautiful sister Darci. Alba spent all day playing with her!

“She naturally gravitated to her because Darci radiated warmth and sunshine! So kind and caring. Reading this post has broke my heart. I love you so much Holly sending so much love to you your mam and John.” “Holly, im so so sorry for you and your families loss. I’m sending you all love and hugs,” typed Nathan Henry.

Holly’s ex-boyfriend, Kyle Christie said: “So sorry to hear this Holly my heart is broken for all of you, if you need anything from any of us we’re all here for you and your family.” Sophie Kasaei, Holly’s friend and former co-star commented: “A family should never have to go through this ever. I wish I could take this pain away my amazing Holly. Darci was and is an angel and will always be guiding you and your family. You have strength I admire and I’m so proud of you for having to keep the family together. I love you endlessly and we will be there for you through this journey of grief. Our angel Beautiful Darci.”

Kelsey Parker, the widow of singer Tom Parker said: “Sending you so much love.” Nicole Bass added: “This is truly heartbreaking. Sending you and your family love and prayers at this painful time.”

Shaughna Phillips responded: “Oh Holly I can’t believe what I’m reading. I am so so sorry for yours and your families loss, sending you all the love and prayers in the world.” “

Darci and Holly share the same mum, Vicki, but have different dads. While Darcilived out of the spotlight, Holly previously opened up about her sister in her memoir, Not Quite a Geordie. She said: “When my sister Darci was born, I loved her, but she was too small for me to even bother with at that stage.

“It was only when she was a little bit older, when I would babysit, that I could really enjoy having fun with her. But when she was first born, she would cry and scream and keep the whole house awake. Honestly, she was the worst baby ever. I don’t think she slept for two years. All night long she would let out blood-curdling shrieks at the top of her voice.”

Bob Vylan frontman has ‘no regrets’ over Glastonbury ‘death to IDF’ chant

Bobby Vylan has revealed he’s not regretful over his chant at Glastonbury Festival, which saw him say to the crowd, ‘death, death to the IDF’ earlier this year

Bobby Vylan is “not regretful” over his chant at Glastonbury Festival. Reflecting on the controversy, which caused a storm during the BBC coverage, the Bob Vylan frontman said he would “do it again tomorrow.”

While performing at the festival earlier this year, the punk duo led the crowd in a chant in between songs. Frontman Bobby said: “Alright, but have you heard this one, though? Death, death to the IDf.” Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis said she was “appalled” by the remarks.

The BBC swiftly removed the performance from iPlayer and apologised for the “deeply offensive” content. But in a new interview, the frontman, whose real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, said he would do it all again.

Speaking to Louis Theroux on the documentary-maker’s podcast, he said: “Oh yeah.”Like what if I was to go on Glastonbury again tomorrow, yes, I would do it again. I’m not regretful of it. I’d do it again tomorrow, twice on Sundays. I’m not regretful of it at all, like the subsequent backlash that I’ve faced. It’s minimal.”

The musician added: “It’s minimal compared to what people in Palestine are going through. If that can be my contribution and if I can have my Palestinian friends and people that I meet from Palestine, that have had to flee, that have lost members in double digits of their family and they can say, yo, your chant, I love it. Or it gave me a breath of fresh air or whatever.

“And I don’t want to overstate the importance of the chant. That’s not what I’m trying to do, but if I have their support, they’re the people that I’m doing it for, they’re the people that I’m being vocal for, then what is there to regret. Oh, because I’ve upset some right-wing politician or some right-wing media?”

The episode of Louis’ podcast was recorded on October 1, with the broadcaster noting that it took place just one day before the tragic Manchester synagogue attack, during which two people were killed and three were injured. It was also recorded nine days before the ceasefire in Gaza commenced on October 10.

Robinson-Foster revealed he was taken aback by the fury that was sparked by his chant. Prime Minsiter, Kier Starmer, said it was “appalling hate speech”. But the musician claims staff at the BBC told him the set was “fantastic”.

The Executive Complaints Unit of the BBC has since found the broadcast breached editorial standards in relation to harm and offence. Robinson-Foster said: “I had no expectations. I honestly hadn’t heard it (the reaction). I hadn’t seen it. Because obviously there was a lot happening at the time. Do you know what I mean?

“It wasn’t like we came off stage, and everybody was like (gasps). It’s just normal. We come off stage. It’s normal. Nobody thought anything. Nobody. Even staff at the BBC were like ‘That was fantastic! We loved that!'” He also lashed out at Blur icon Damon Albarn who said that the chant was “one of the most spectacular misfires I’ve seen in my life, especially when he started goose-stepping in tennis gear”.

He said of Albarn: “It was disappointing. Because it lacked self-awareness, I think, his response. I just want to say that categorising it as a ‘spectacular misfire’ implies that somehow the politics of the band or our stance on Palestinian liberation is not thought out.

“And as a more senior, experienced, veteran artist – he’s been in this industry for a long time – I think that there were other ways that he could have handled that question being fielded to him. I take great issue with the phrase ‘goose-stepping’ being used because it’s only used around Nazi Germany. That’s it. And for him to use that language, I think is disgusting. I think his response was disgusting.”

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed in the weeks after Bob Vylan’s set that it was still being investigated. After their set, the force said: “Video footage and audio from Bob Vylan and Kneecap’s performances at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday has been reviewed.

“Following the completion of that assessment process, we have decided further enquiries are required and a criminal investigation is now being undertaken. A senior detective has been appointed to lead this investigation.

“This has been recorded as a public order incident at this time while our enquiries are at an early stage. The investigation will be evidence-led and will closely consider all appropriate legislation, including relating to hate crimes.”

Alison Hammond says ‘I want to live longer’ as she addresses weight-loss jabs

After changing her lifestyle and being diagnosed as pre-diabetic in 2020, Allison Hammond lost 13 stone.

This Morning star Alison Hammond says she “wants to live longer” as she addresses the possibility of using weight loss jabs. Alison, 50, shed around 13st in recent years after altering her diet and adopting a strict exercise regime.

Alison decided to overhaul her lifestyle after being diagnosed as prediabetic in 2020. People who have been diagnosed with the condition are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes later in life, the NHS explains.

The Great British Bake Off host had previously lost 2st in 2007 after having a gastric band fitted when she took part in the reality TV show Sugar Free Farm. But she had it removed just three years later.

Alison now admits to enjoying being “smaller” and hoping it will prolong her life. She acknowledges that she might use weight-loss jabs in the future.

She responded, “Oh no, I wouldn’t have the jab,” and I don’t like it. I might change my mind next year and begin to rant.”

Alison claims that she has “no opinion” about weight-loss diets. She continues, “Go for it if someone wants the jab.” What factors are important when someone loses weight?

Would you prefer for me to lose weight? We’ll do whatever it takes to get smaller and be healthier because ultimately, I want to live longer.

Alison has previously shared details about the exhausting exercise regimen she has followed to keep her slimmer. When she can’t train, she frequently completes 45-minute circuit routines in the style of bootcamp.

Alison said, “If I’m working, I don’t train, I’ll go for a walk.” However, I’ll just spend an hour with her when I get home from work and have a session there. It might be four days a week.

She claims to have completely eliminated all of her food but still enjoys it in moderation. She has previously expressed her fear about weight-loss attempts, claiming she had heard “funny” tales about them.

She admitted in a conversation with Good Housekeeping in December that she thought “I think that using them is a good thing,” but that I get scared as soon as I hear any scary stories.

“I haven’t wanted to use them, but that’s not to say I won’t in the future, and I’d never look down on anyone who did,” he said.

Alison rose to fame on Big Brother in 2002. She went on to work as an entertainment reporter on This Morning in 2002, gaining attention for her cheeky interviews with A-list stars, before becoming a main presenter on the hit show in 2021.

Prince Andrew’s ex Lady Victoria Hervey sparks fury with dark Virginia Giuffre response

As she addressed Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous allegations, socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, who dated Prince Andrew in the 1990s, said “dark forces are at play.”

Prince Andrew’s ex-girlfriend Lady Victoria Hervey has sparked outrage with a series of claims about Virginia Giuffre’s bombshell book.

Ms Giuffre, who accused the late convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, took her own life in April this year.

Her posthumous memoir, which details alleged sexual encounters with Prince Andrew, was published today after six months of her passing.

The prince, who gave up his titles last week in the wake of reports of his friendship with alleged Chinese spies and his connections to an alleged Chinese spy, is the subject of Ms. Giuffre’s Nobody’s Girl.

Andrew has consistently firmly refuted all accusations leveled at him.

Victoria responded to the publication of Ms. Giuffre’s book by calling the accusations a “witch hunt,” claiming that “dark forces are at play.” She has made no secret of her criticism of her assertions. ‘

Victoria wrote on Instagram that “her death was incredibly convenient to take back the narrative and make people forget how her story crumbled toward the end of her life.” “

She continued, “There are some very dark forces at play here that are causing the witch hunts.” “

Lady Victoria has previously spoken out about Giuffre, who she had labeled a “fantasist” and a “liar.” Following a crash earlier this month, the Prince Andrew accuser of calling her “fighting for her life” claimed Giuffre was “the Queen of the fake photo.”

When Ms. Giuffre’s death was revealed this year, Victoria posted on social media that “lilies have no way out.” “

On social media, users vented furiously, calling Victoria “no lady” and calling the post “sick.” Another shocked recipient responded, “Wow, she’s a cold-blooded woman!” “

After the post caused a significant backlash online, Lady Victoria made a follow-up and went back to Instagram.

She stated, “I’ve made the decision to put a halt to my posts right now on Virginia Giuffre.” Anytime, regardless of the circumstances, anyone who commits suicide is tragic, and a young mother who has children even more so. “

In recent years, Sofialite Lady Victoria has spoken out to defend Prince Andrew after a brief romp with him in 1999.

His accuser, Ms Giuffre, claimed in a shocking Instagram photo that she was lying in a hospital bed after colliding with a bus traveling 110 kilometers and suffering from kidney failure in April. The bruised image of Giuffre and another of herself smiling was later shared by Lady Hervey, who later wrote, “What is Karma. The soundtrack to the 1986 film “The Final Countdown” in Europe, which appears to mock Giuffre’s claim that she had days to live, was played.

Following a few weeks, Giuffre’s family announced that she had committed suicide and that she had fought sexual abuse. ‘

After being a long victim of sex abuse and trafficking, her family stated in a statement that Virginia Giuffre lost her life to suicide. In the struggle against sex trafficking and sexual abuse, Virginia fought ferociously. She provided so many survivors with light. She shined so brightly despite the hardships she endured throughout her life. She will be greatly missed. Her children, Christian, Noah, and Emily, were her life’s source of light.

Virginia “realized she had to fight back against those who had abused her and so many others when she held her newborn daughter in her arms.” Our beloved Virginia passed away, and there are no words that can adequately express how devastated we are right now. She was brave, and her incredible bravery and caring spirit will always stand out in her memory. In the end, Virginia could no longer bear the weight of abuse because it was so oppressive. She is well-known to the angels. “

Virginia was much more than just a client, according to her attorney, Sigrid McCawley. She was a wonderful supporter of other victims and a dear friend. Her strength and courage inspired me to fight harder, and she was inspiring. Today, a remarkable person has been lost in the world. My sweet angel, rest in peace. “

Giuffre claimed in a lawsuit brought against Prince Andrew in New York in 2021 that he had sex with her three times between 1999 and 2002 in London, New York, and on a private Caribbean island owned by Epstein.

In February 2022, they reached an extrajudicial settlement, but it was not made public. Prince Andrew has refuted any allegations made against him.

He expressed regret for working with Epstein in a statement in the settlement, but he made no admission of guilt.

Six years after learning about Virginia’s death, a tragic post from her that claimed she was “no way” suicidal reappeared.

One of the most openly accused of sex offenders, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, was the sex trafficking victim.
