Adolescence and The Studio were among the big winners at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards.

Owen Cooper, who played Jamie Miller, the 13-year-old accused of murder, in Adolescence made history by becoming the first ever male winner of an acting Emmy at the ceremony in Los Angeles. It was one of five awards the Netflix British drama celebrated, as his co-star and its co-creator Stephen Graham won Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series.

And The Studio, a satirical cringe comedy on Apple TV, broke an Emmy Awards record for wins by a comedy in a season. It picked up 13 awards, including Seth Rogen’s gong for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. Seth, 43, joked about how he had “never won anything in [his] life” as he took to the stage to collect the accolade.

Owen, from Warrington, Cheshire, beat co-star Ashley Walters to the award for Supporting Actor. Addressing the crowd at the Peacock Theatre, the humble teen said: “Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple years back, I didn’t expect to be even in the United States, never mind here. So I think tonight proves that if you, if you listen and you focus and you step out your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life.”

Today’s horoscope for September 15 as Scorpio senses unspoken emotions in others

Today’s horoscope for Monday, September 15 will see Gemini focus on responsibilities, while Pisces will feel more in control both emotionally and financially

Find out what’s written in the stars with our astrologer Russell Grant(Image: Daily Record/GettyImages)

It’s Monday, and one star sign will avoid confrontation today, while another is eager to start making new plans.

There are 12 zodiac signs – Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces – and the horoscopes for each can give you the lowdown on what your future holds, be it in work, your love life, your friends and family or more.

These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant, who has been reading star signs for over 50 years. From Aries through to Pisces, here’s what today could bring for your horoscope – and what you can do to be prepared.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)

You might start the day full of energy but don’t be surprised if later in the morning you feel an urge to abandon everything and escape from what you are doing. With a long list of things to do, you may not get a chance to relax properly. This means you just have to get on with it, even if you really don’t want to.

Taurus (Apr 21 – May 21)

You could do with a short break especially if this will help you dodge an uncomfortable meeting or tense confrontation. Taking a little time out to reflect will provide you with the clarity you need and help you come up with creative solutions. This in turn will lead to better interactions.

Gemini (May 22 – June 21)

It won’t be easy but you won’t want to let someone who enjoys creating conflict take up too much of your time and energy. You can’t see the point of letting gossip and jealousy divert your attention when you just want to focus on your responsibilities.

Cancer (June 22 – July 23)

A lack of understanding between friends will take you by surprise. Your efforts to share ideas with workmates may not succeed but don’t get discouraged. This is just a temporary setback and it will pass as the day comes to a close.

Leo (July 24 – Aug 23)

You get a strong impression change is coming. That’s why you’re eager to start making new plans. Even though you have some great ideas, Neptune hints that you could be swayed to take a path that isn’t right for you so give more thought to what you agree to.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sept 23)

Your mind is on a number of professional challenges, one of which is the need to complete intricate tasks promptly and properly. Keeping calm is essential to prove your skills and professionalism. Another important element for your success is accepting support from colleagues.

Libra (Sept 24 – Oct 23)

You have home, family and emotional matters to think about more carefully. Inspiration will arrive in subtle ways such as through music, colour or memory. Creativity will flow when you put less stress on the outcome and just accept the way things are.

Scorpio (Oct 24 – Nov 22)

You have always been intuitive and you are sensing unspoken emotions in others today. Rather than retreating from conversations or walking away from tense situations, lean into connection. Let people know your intentions. A spontaneous idea or invitation could lead to something magical.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 – Dec 21)

You are trying to work out where you stand, financially, emotionally and even spiritually. A new approach to an old problem will suddenly appear. Be willing to let your imagination guide the way forward. Sometimes what seems impractical is actually the beginning of a more inspired lifestyle.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20)

Relationships are highlighted. Even practical matters will seem to carry emotional weight. Someone’s kind gesture may seem small, but it will mean a lot to you. Be sure to respond with warmth. Ideas shared in passing may plant a seed for real change.

Aquarius (Jan 21 – Feb 19)

What looks like a great opportunity will come along. There’s a risk of focusing too much on the positives and overlooking the negatives. Keeping that in mind, try not to rely too heavily on what other people say. Thorough research is required before making important choices.

Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)

If you’ve been stressing over money it could be due to some surprise bills as well as a few recent spontaneous buys. It might therefore be a good idea to start budgeting for any upcoming expenses. This will help you feel more in control both emotionally and financially.

Owen Cooper’s first words after making history as youngest male acting Emmy winner

Owen Cooper was recognised for his role in huge hit Adolescence, one of five Emmy Awards the Netflix miniseries picked up at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday

Owen Cooper expressed his shock after making history as the youngest male winner of an acting Emmy.

The star earned the award for his role in the British drama Adolescence, which widely impressed after airing on Netflix earlier this year. Cooper, 15, beat tough competition, including veteran actor Bill Camp in the Presumed Innocent and Rob Delaney in Dying For Sex, to the gong.

Speaking upon accepting it, the humble teenager said: “Honestly, when I started these drama classes a couple years back, I didn’t expect to be even in the United States, never mind here. But I think tonight proves that if you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life.”

His costars, Erin Doherty and Stephen Graham, also emerged victorious in their respective categories. It meant Adolescence won five awards at the ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Addressing the crowd, Owen, from Warrington, Cheshire, continued: “I was nothing about three years ago. I’m here now. If you listen and you focus and you step out of your comfort zone a little bit, who cares if you get embarrassed a little bit?.. It says my name on the statue, but it really belongs to all of the people who worked on the show.”

Adolescence was the youngster’s first TV role and, since its success, he has gone on to record scenes for Film Club, which is an upcoming BBC drama, and he will play the Young Heathcliff in an upcoming Wuthering Heights adaptation.

Roxana Zal was the youngest ever at age 14 when she won best supporting actress in a limited series or special for the TV movie “Something About Amelia” in 1984. However, Owen has added his name into the history books and told fans it “means a lot to me” after his win.

Erin dedicated her first win to her “big sister Grace” and said she “wouldn’t be here without” her. She said: “I love you with all my heart” during her acceptance speech for the best supporting actress in a limited series.

Adolescence received 13 nominations, having dominated Netflix’s most-watched list earlier this year. The British drama centres on the story of a 13-year-old boy arrested for the murder of a classmate.

Owen Cooper today became the youngest ever male winner of an acting Emmy – at 15.

The teenager won the award for his lead role in drama series Adolescence, which impressed on Netflix earlier this year. Upon collecting the award at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, Cooper said when he started drama classes he didn’t expect to be in the US, “let alone here”.

Owen, of Warrington, Cheshire, said: “I was nothing about three years ago, I’m here now. Step out of your comfort zone a little, who cares if you get embarrassed.”

The youngster portrayed Jamie Miller in the Netflix miniseries, for which Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham won the award for writing in a limited or anthology series at the Emmy ceremony.

Addressing the crowd at the theatre, Owen continued: “I was nothing about three years ago, and now here I am.” Speaking to reporters moments after his win, Owen added: “It means some much to me. It means so much to me, my family, people back home. So, you know, it’s just, yeah, it just means a lot to me.”

A journalist asks him how his friends would react to his win. Cooper said they might not be awake yet “because it’s four in the morning at home”, before adding: “They’ll be all over the moon, yes.”

And Apple TV series The Studio broke an Emmy Awards record for wins by a comedy in a season. The programme picked up 12 awards, including Seth Rogen’s gong for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, at the ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The Studio’s success beats last year’s record for The Bear, which won 11 awards at the Emmys for one season.

Speaking after his win for best comedy actor, Seth, 43, said: “I could not wrap my head around this happening. I’ve never won anything in my life.” Seth co-directs and stars in The Studio, which is a satirical cringe comedy about floundering film production company Continental Studios.

Seth shares the directing Emmy with his longtime collaborator and Studio co-creator Evan Goldberg. In a recent review, Seth is praised highly. It reads: “Rogen has made a lot of very funny stuff over the years, but this is by far the best thing he’s ever done. It’s been said that in order to make an effective satire, you first have to love, or at least care about, the thing you’re mocking.”

Seth Rogen joked about how he had “never won anything in [his] life” – as he accepted his first Emmy Award on Sunday.

The 43-year-old actor beat off competition from Adam Brody in Nobody Wants This, Jason Segel in Shrinking, Martin Short in Only Murders in the Building and Jeremy Allen White in The Bear to take the Best Actor in a Comedy Series prize for his performance in The Studio, and joked about how he had “never won anything in [his] life”.

He said on stage at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater: “This is amazing, I cannot wrap my head around this happening so I literally prepared nothing.

“I’ve never won anything in my life. When I was a kid, I bought a used bowling trophy at an estate sale and my parents were like, ‘Yeah, that’s a good idea, you should probably buy that.’

“Thank you to my wife, my mother, everyone who works on the show, my agents, my managers, the writers, guest stars, thank you so much. this is just so lovely and I… I don’t know what to say, this is so nice. I appreciate you all, thank you. Have a good one.”

Seth is also nominated for directing, producing and writing the Apple TV show. Meanwhile, Jean Smart picked up her fourth Best Actress in a Comedy Series award for Hacks and revealed on stage she was recovering from an injury.

She said: “If i was walking like John Wayne it’s because I broke my knee this summer and it’s not quite repaired.” Jean – who was nominated alongside Uzo Aduba (The Residence), Kristen Bell (Nobody Wants This), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) – went on to thank those involved with the show.

She noted: “You actually get to publicly thank the people you work with, my unbelievable crew, my incredible castmates led by the incomparable Hannah Einbinder. Our show runners, beyond brilliant. Everyone at HBO Max and Universal TV and the Television Academy, thank you so much. Let’s be good to each other.”

Speaking on stage at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater, she grew emotional as she said: “Oh my goodness, I am so proud and honoured to receive this award from the Acadamy. My whole career I wanted to work with John Wells, he elevates everything in his wake. John, I’m so much better when you’re around. Mostly because I don’t want to get fired.

Zach Bryan jumps fence and hurls ‘death threats’ in bitter row with fellow country singer

Country singers Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock’s ongoing reported feud hit a new level this weekend as Zach scaled a fence and hurled ‘death threats’ before security jumped in

Zach Bryan made an unannounced appearance at the Born & Raised Festival on Saturday where he was seen scaling a fence as he shouted at fellow country music star Gavin Adcock before security was forced to intervene.

Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock’s have a reported ongoing feud, which was captured on TikTok as the country singers shouted at each other through a wired fence. As things heated up, Zach decided to hop over the fence in an attempt to get closer to Gavin as he reportedly hurled ‘death threats’.

Zach can be seen in the video climbing over the fence as Gavin shouts, leading to the security team getting involved. Zach can be heard saying in the video, which has already racked up a huge viewer rating: “If they open this f—–g gate I’ll f—–g kill you”. Zach, who was dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans, was also heard shouting, “Hey you wanna fight like a man? Open the gate,” while hitting the chain fence.

The Deep End singer, Gavin, reposted the footage on his social media along with the caption: “When you get death threats from Sack Cryin before you headline in his hometown.”

Fans shared their thoughts on the video in the comments section as one person wrote: “About time Gavin gets confronted for running his mouth. Zach doesn’t hide behind his phone while Gavin is at party city picking up his cowboy costume”.

Another TikTok user added: “Gavin ain’t have a lot to say to Zach when he hopped that fence, he sure turned around and talked to his little gf tho.”

A third chimed in: “It’s interesting to see how the tension built up before the confrontation. Moments like these can truly shift the direction of a situation, and it’ll be interesting to see how it unfolds.”

The two country music stars have reportedly been in an ongoing conflict, and Gavin recently criticised Zach online for his response to a teenage fan who had waited for an autograph. Zach said at the time: “You’re not entitled after someone plays two and a half hours to a picture or a hello”.

(Image: Variety via Getty Images)

Gavin spoke about Zach during a Rolling Stones podcast where he said: “I think that Zach Bryan puts on a big mask in his day-to-day life. Sometimes he can’t help but rip it off and show his true colors. I don’t know if Zach Bryan’s really that great of a person.”

Gavin has also shared his controversial thoughts on other stars in the music industry, including Morgan Wallen and Beyoncé. Morgan Wallen ended up flipping off Gavin after he held up a shirt with Charley Crockett’s face during one of his live sets, and he also said Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter “not country music” during a concert.
