The original Nintendo Switch has a very distinct design that shaped present-day handheld gaming. It had a screen in the middle, with two detachable controllers, allowing you to play in handheld or docked mode. The screen measures 6.2 inches and features an LCD display with a 1280 x 720 resolution, which outputs 1080p (Full HD) when connected to a compatible dock.
Boasting 32GB of internal storage, this gaming console lets you store your favourite games and save with ease. Armed with Wi-Fi & HDMI connectivity, gamers can simply plug in and play anywhere, any time. Plus, the 720p and 1080p outputs provide crisp HD visuals for immersive gaming sessions.
The Nintendo Switch Mario Red & Blue Edition sports a distinct red-and-blue colour scheme in honour of Mario’s iconic outfit. This bundle includes red Joy-Con Controllers with blue straps, a blue Joy-Con grip, a red Nintendo Switch dock and a red Nintendo Switch system.
This edition also includes a stylised Mario Red & Blue Edition Carrying Case and a screen protector to help protect the Nintendo Switch when gaming on the go.

Peter Kay speaks about painful surgery as part of his new book which is out today
Peter Kay has revealed he had emergency surgery on a giant kidney stone and a stent needed to be fitted after it caused “major trauma” to his urethra.
Writing in his new book Peter Kay’s Diary, his March entry documented a troubling and painful time for him several years ago, but in typical comical fashion.
Comedian Kay, 52, said he was wearing a covid mask on a train from London Euston to Wigan when he felt severe stomach pains and had to rush to use the toilet. Two days later he had throbbing pains in his lower back and googled his symptoms, which suggested a kidney stone so went to get medical attention.
Kay writes: “Fast forward 24 hours, and my suspicions were confirmed via a CT scan at the local hospital. It turned out I had a big stone block in the exit of my right kidney.
“He(urologist) reassured me, but said I needed emergency surgery to remove the kidney stone, which would also involve having a stent fitted at my urethra in order to maintain my kidney functions. F**k a duck.
“My pre op bloods confirmed his suspicions that, apparently, my kidney functions were deranged. Well, that’s how the nurse delicately put it. As much as I was shocked, I was also relieved and felt vindicated, as I actually had something wrong with me, and it wasn’t just hypochondria.
“However, kidney stone pain is legendary, and I was starting to sob and make the occasional high pitched whining sound, like when you fire an air rifle at a dog’s testicles.”
Worse was to come for Peter though, when he was told the operation would involve a small camera fitted with a laser entering his body to “blast” the kidney stone away.
The doctor told him there would be no need for any cuts or incisions as the camera would be going in another way.
Kay added: “Then the penny dropped with a huge realisation. Oh, my God, he means he’s going in through the hole at the end of my penis. My world collapsed. Red lights flashed in my head. He can’t go up there? It’s out of bounds, private land. Area 51. A camera won’t fit up there, let alone one carrying a laser. Was this guy on glue?”
Sadly for comedian Kay the doctor was serious and that is how the operation took place, but not before his anesthetist had also asked for a selfie shortly before putting him to sleep.
The stone was removed and Kay was left in serious pain for a week when he used the toilet, until he had to return to remove the stent via the same way the camera had gone into his body.
Kay added: “The urologist said I didn’t need any pain relief. He said it’d be a walk in the park, though I don’t know which parks he walks through.
“The urologist advised me to breathe deeply, in and out, then grabbed my penis like he was grabbing a snake and squeezed it, which caused my eyes to bulge like a cartoon.”
The urologist then advised him to slow his breathing although Kay says he was lucky he didn’t get headhunted by this point, such was the pain. A small hook was then used to remove the stent and Kay “howled” in pain.
He added: “It was painful and unpleasant and a dreadful experience I never wish to repeat. Ever!”
According to the NHS, Kidney stones can develop in 1 or both kidneys and most often affect people aged 30 to 60. They’re quite common, with more than 1 in 10 people affected.
Kidney stones are usually found in the kidneys or in the ureter, the tube that connects the kidneys to your bladder. They can be extremely painful, and can lead to kidney infections or the kidney not working properly if left untreated.
Symptoms include pain in the side of your tummy (abdomen) or severe pain that comes and goes like Kay felt on the train.
In the “cheery” September chapter of the book, the Phoenix Nights creator also recalls his honeymoon disaster, as he and wife Susan were married just a few days before 9/11 and were in Mexico when the disaster unfolded.
Kay thought it was a movie when he first saw it on TV before the realisation hit and the holiday resort took on an eerie state.
Kay writes: “The whole resort was flung into grief, as you’d expect. We really wanted to go back home, but thousands of planes were grounded. It was an unprecedented move to thwart any further attacks from hijacked planes.
“The feeling was eerie. All joy evaporated. All music stopped. It was a surreal juxtaposition; we were in such idyllic surroundings while all this tragedy was happening. We tried to continue with normal holiday activities, but we felt guilty.”
Kay said the world changed for years afterwards and when children came into their lives he tried to shield his young kids from 9/11 and would change TV channels if a programme came on mentioning it as there was no real explanation for what happened.

He added: “Sometimes the world can be a horrible place, and it ruined our honeymoon. We got back home six days later than scheduled. We were so grateful to get a flight back. We’d been waiting in a packed airport in Cancun for seven hours.
“I’ll never forget the passengers clapped and cheered when we landed in Manchester. Such a relief to be back on terra firma, though no one would feel safe for a long time to come. F**king Al-Qaeda.

Kate Garraway has been hit with mounting debts in recent years. The Good Morning Britain anchor, 58, who is to star on BBC’s Celebrity The Traitors, has been hit with staggering bills after being dealt multiple financial blows due to caring for her husband Derek Draper, who died in January 2024.
Earlier this year, Kate’s media firm reported losses of almost £300,000 in the previous year. She launched Praespero 100 to look after all of her earnings from media-related work. Documents filed with Companies House disclosed it owed £288,122 for 2024. In the previous year, it was £165,011 in the red, down from a £36,888 surplus in 2022.
The firm is described as being in the business of “radio broadcasting, television programming and broadcasting activities, management consultancy activities other than financial management”. She had previously racked up debts of £800,000 due to spending £4,000 a week caring for Derek after the former lobbyist contracted Coronavirus..
Kate was also slapped with a tax bill of £716,000 after closing down their joint psychotherapy company, Astra Aspera Ltd with £183,096 worth of debt. Earlier this year, Kate was forced to sell off one of her London homes in order to pay off her debts.
The home is said to have sold for a whopping £1.5 million, with the three-bedroomed townhouse having been “heavily mortgaged”. A source at the time told The Sun: “Kate takes paying off the debts very seriously and she’s always said she’d go to any lengths to achieve that.
“This is just part of that commitment, even if it does mean she’s had to lose the flat which she actually purchased years ago before meeting Derek and before they bought a family home together. Like many people, she was keeping it as a financial safety net which she thought she wouldn’t have to use so soon.”
She also had to explore her pension funds in order to cover her bills. Hacker Young, a London firm, is believed to now be assisting her with her financial affairs. Speaking in a passionate plea on Good Morning Britain earlier this year, Kate told Wes Streeting how she was in “unpayable debt”.
She told Mr Streeting: “I’m going to be honest. In my mind, I’m thinking about the situation with Derek. It actually happens to be the anniversary of his death, one-year anniversary of his death, today, which is a day only relevant to me, but over the last few weeks, the family and I have been talking about the challenges we faced this time last year.
“And one of the overriding ones until he went back into intensive care before he passed away, was dealing with the funding of care. At the time of his death, there were two appeals that hadn’t been heard for funding.
“It kept on getting pushed back and pushed back. In the meantime, and I’m lucky I’ve got an incredible job which is well paid, I was having to fund the situation. Now I’ve got excessive unpayable debt because of it, and if I’m in that position, what else are people going to be? People can’t afford four more years of this.”

Matthew Perry went to Alcoholics Anonymous meeting at Ozzy Osbourne’s house before his death, it has been revealed. It has been documented in the Black Sabbath’s star’s posthumous memoir Last Rites that the late Friends actor often visited his home in Los Angeles.
Ozzy died at the age of 76 in July of this year and Matthew died from a ketamine overdose in 2023 at the age of 54. In a segment, Ozzy says that Matthew would “come to our house for AA meetings”.
He then added that Matthew was the “funniest, most talented bloke. And he was trying so hard” to recover from his struggles with drugs. Ozzy then went on to reflect on the sadness he felt when he heard that the iconic actor has died.

Ozzy wrote: “Then one day he listened to his addiction telling him it was OK to get loaded, and that was it – game over. I felt so sad when they said he’d been found in his hot tub, unresponsive, with ketamine in his system. He’d given everything to stay clean. But it wasn’t enough.”
Ozzy explained that he had thought about using a ketamine treatment similar to the one Matthew did in an attempt to combat his own addictions but he soon went off the idea.
The rockstar said that the doctors started him on a “tiny dose” but he soon felt a “very small but unmistakable altering of the mind”. That’s when he realised he would “never let addiction steal my spirit from me again”.
Ozzy has opened up about how AA meetings were able to help him when he “fell off the wagon” in 2012 as he went to 90 meetings in as many days in West Hollywood.
It has been reported since Ozzy’s death that he shared a deeply moving conversation with wife Sharon where he revealed what he was most looking forward to, just days before he died.
The sweet exchange was filmed at their English countryside retreat in Buckinghamshire, where they brought up their family. It proved to be one of the most emotional scenes in the BBC One documentary Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home.
The 76-year-old rocker was sprawled on the sofa when Sharon, 72, posed the question: “What are you most looking forward to?”
Following his last gig, Ozzy, who fought against Parkinson’s disease, replied: “Doing absolutely nothing.” Sharon agreed as Ozzy added: “Being with you Sharon… just being with you. We don’t have to be on phones to agents and things. I’m retiring from public life.”

In a shock confession, Ozzy then reveals to his wife that he’d like to put together his own vegetable patch which Sharon said they’d make happen.

Celebrity Traitors star Charlotte Church is no stranger to unexpected TV appearances after making a surprise cameo in the Welcome to Wrexham documentary. The Disney+ series, which charts Wrexham AFC’s journey under the ownership of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, has become a huge hit since it first aired in August 2022.
The show has shone a global spotlight on the community of Wrexham, turning local figures like Wayne Jones, landlord of the Turf pub, into household names. Several famous faces have also featured along the way, with Welsh singer Church turning up in the first season of the docuseries.
Church, who is one of 19 stars taking part in the BBC’s new series of Celebrity Traitors, turned up in the first season of the Wrexham documentary, in an episode highlighting Welsh culture and history. She performed stirring renditions of ‘Men of Harlech’ and the Welsh national anthem ‘Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’ to finish the programme.
The 39-year-old has previously revealed how her appearance came about after Deadpool actor Reynolds flew her and her three children out to the USA, despite them having never met before. Church praised the way the duo have transformed Wrexham’s fortunes, as well as the their interactions with her family.
Talking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on the Dish podcast, she said: “He [Reynolds] flew me and my kids out to New York because they were doing the show about Wrexham, and I went and I sang the national anthem, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau.
“The kids were like, ‘it’s Ryan Reynolds, we have to go.’ So I was like, ‘I’m a working mum, unfortunately you’re going to have to bring all three of my children out,’ and they were like, ‘yeah, sure, fine.’
“They got to meet him and Rob McElhenney and they were delicious. They were so kind and they’re so lovely. I think what they’re doing for Wales – in terms of Wrexham and stuff – it’s really genuine.
“Unfortunately the way that Wales has been portrayed for such a long time is like we’re the poor relation and a lot of people talk about us by taking the p***, but actually, it feels really uplifting. They’re doing it with a lot of care and integrity, I think.”

Welcome to Wrexham recently concluded its fourth series and has picked up several Creative Arts Emmy awards. A spin-off show focusing on Mexican football outfit Club Necaxa, which Reynolds, Rob Mac and Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria have invested in, launched in August.
A number of other clubs have followed in Wrexham’s footsteps, including Championship rivals Birmingham City, who are part-owned by NFL legend Tom Brady. Their series, Built in Birmingham: Brady & The Blues, was also released in August on Prime Video.
As well as shining a spotlight on the club, the Wrexham documentary has also triggered a tourism boom in the local area, providing a boost for local businesses. In some cases, fans have traveled from as far afield as Brazil to watch the Red Dragons at the Racecourse Ground and the series was recently renewed for a fifth season.

Jonathan Ross’ wife and daughters’ have been open about their health conditions over the years, with Betty Ross experiencing several health problems herself.
The TV presenter has been open about his family going through several health issues as he gears up to enter the celebrity version of The Traitors which airs tonight. Betty has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.
The conditions combined have impacted her mobility which means she often needs to use an electric wheelchair for daily activities. She has undergone treatment but has admitted it has been a tough time for her.

Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes widespread pain, fatigue, sleep problems and difficulty with thinking and memory. Whereas, CFS has some similar symptoms which involves extreme tiredness and problems with sleep, thinking and concentration.
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome is a disorder that causes an abnormally high heart rate when standing up or sitting up.
Doctors initially thought Betty’s symptoms pointed to Long Covid but then diagnosed her with the subsequent illnesses. Jonathan has previously said that they have had a “tough couple of years” but things are looking up.
Speaking on Loose Women, he said: “She has fibromyalgia and she has chronic fatigue syndrome and PoTS syndrome as well, which is where your heart rate shoots up.
“We found a good… there’s a thing called the Perrin treatment. The guy who invented it, he came to talk to me about it and she looked it up online because she’s a smart young woman, so she has to want to do the treatment.
“You know, I mean, I can’t just say to her ‘try this, try that’ if she thinks it’s wrong in some way and if she’s not going to enter it 100%, of course it’s not worth doing. But we’ve been having that treatment going on and she’s definitely showing some improvement.”
The Perrin technique is a bio-mechanical treatment consisting of lymphatic drainage. Jonathan’s other daughter Honey also received a “life-saving” diagnosis after struggling since she was 14-year-old.
She has always spoken candidly about her mental health and talked about how having ADHD impacts her life. Honey, who was only diagnosed in 2022, spoke on the Is It My ADHD? podcast about how she has always struggled with anxiety and depression.
Honey said she has been in therapy since she was 14 but it was only when her godmother was diagnosed with ADHD that she realised she might also have the condition.
“I’ve also been super hyperactive, can’t sit down, always fidgeting and I thought that was because I was anxious, and it wasn’t until my god mum got diagnosed with [ADHD] and things were clicking into place,” Honey said.
Jonathan is married to his wife of nearly 27 years screenwriter Jane Goldman after tying the knot in 1988 when she was just 18 years old. They met when he was 26 and Jane was just 16 and working as a showbiz journalist.
In 1999 the couple briefly separated after the stress of Jane’s battle with depression. Their statement said: “Jane, who suffers from depression, recently had a breakdown for which she checked into the Priory Clinic for treatment.
“As a result of this very stressful period a great deal of strain has been put on the marriage. Jane and Jonathan’s main concern at the moment is the happiness and security of their children.”

However, the couple decided to give things another go soon after and have been happily married ever since. Jonathan is set to appear on the next series of Celebrity Traitors which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
