Lady Victoria Hervey, an ex-girlfriend of Prince Andrew, has bizarrely questioned whether his sex abuse accuser, Virginia Giuffr,e has actually died
Prince Andrew’s ex-girlfriend has shared a bizarre conspiracy theory, questioning whether his accuser Virginia Giuffre is actually dead. Virginia accused the disgraced royal of engaging in sexual activities with her when she was just a minor.
She alleged she had been trafficked by convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, in March 2001, when she was just 17. Virginia claimed that Epstein and his girlfriend had taken her to Tramp nightclub in London, where she met with Andrew and later had sex with him that night. She claimed that Epstein had paid her $15,000 after sleeping with Andrew. During an interview with BBC’s Newsnight in 2019, Andrew vehemently denied the allegations and told host Emily Maitlis he had no recollection of meeting Virginia.
On March 31 this year, Virginia said that her car had hit a school bus while travelling at 70mph. She told her online followers she was “banged up and bruised” but decided to go home, and later was taken to the hospital after her condition deteriorated.
It was here that she was told she had gone into renal failure and had just four days to live, before going on to make a recovery and being discharged. Western Australia police said that on March 25, they had received reports from the bus driver involving a minor crash the day before, but no injuries had been reported.
Tragically, just one month later, Virginia took her own life at her home in Neergabby, Western Australia, at the age of 41. Her dad initially refused to accept her death as suicide and believed that “somebody got to her”. But now, several months on, Andrew’s ex-girlfriend, socialite Lady Victoria Hervey, has questioned whether Virginia is actually dead, in another bizarre social media post.
In view of her 564,000 followers on Instagram, the 49-year-old said: “On another note, there’s a growing consensus questioning whether she’s [Virginia] truly dead. We never saw a body, never saw a funeral. Usually, there’s at least a covered stretcher – but this time, we got nothing. Was the ‘4 days to live story’ a rehearsal to disappear?”
She also cruelly shared a poll with the options being “Dead” and “Or alive still” to her followers.
A follow-up post read: “62% don’t believe she’s dead.” However, there is no credible reason to suggest that Virginia had faked her death. E
It comes after Lady Victoria hit out again at Virginia’s claims following the release of her post-humous book.
She said on Instagram: “Her death was extremely convenient to take back the narrative and make people forget how her story had crumbled towards the end of her life. Who benefited from her death? Her lawyers, her family. I go on TV with people who have not read depositions or court filings or spoken to whistleblowers and they think they know best because of a headline story in a newspaper. It’s tedious and a joke. There are some very dark forces at play here who have created the witch hunts.”
Victoria’s bizarre post comes just days after her former boyfriend announced he would no longer use his royal titles, including Duke of York, due to increased coverage on his friendship with Epstein.
More recently, an email from Andrew sent to Epstein in 2011 saw the Prince say they were “in this together”, despite telling Maitlis that he cut contact with him in December 2010. Last Friday, the disgraced Prince said that the “continued accusations” around him have been distracting “from the work of His Majesty and the royal family. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
In a rare statement shared by Buckingham Palace, he said: “In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family. I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.
“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me. As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
But Andrew still retains his titles; he just won’t be using them publicly. He also legally retains his Prince title, as the son of a Monarch – but the government could step in, should his older brother, King Charles, issue Letters Patent to strip him of all his titles.
