The Marks and Spencer mini skirt – set to be a hit for festive parties – is still in stock but selling fast, according to the retailer
A sparkly skirt hailed as ‘very stylish’ and ‘versatile’ has not only earned the approval of fashion fans at Marks and Spencer, but a thumbs up from one of Britain’s best-dressed TV presenters, too. Cat Deeley appeared on This Morning wearing the retailer’s Tweed Embellished Mini A-Line Skirt, which has already gained praise from wearers who bagged it early.
The black mini skirt is made in a ‘heavy’ tweed fabric that’s giving us all the Chanel vibes, but on a budget. While some of the 49-year-old’s previous outfits have proven costly, this skirt comes in at a reasonable £46.
Hailed as ‘great for the party season’, it’s detailed with pearl and bead embellishment for added sparkle. It’s cut in a flattering A-line shape, with a zip fastening at the back, and due to the nature of the fabric, it’s less likely to crease so means it won’t need ironing, either.

Styled by Rachael Hughes, Cat wore her skirt with a white frilled blouse from Holland Cooper, black opaque tights and patent Mary Jane shoes. It’s giving a crossover between St Trinian’s chic and Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl – a combination we’re absolutely here for.
For a similar look, FatFace has this £49 Mari Black Boucle Skirt with a slightly more subtle sparkle in the form of a metallic thread. Wear on office days with tights and the matching cardigan or to evening drinks with heels and a blouse, this skirt is versatile and easy to wear for all occasions.

Alternatively, for those who believe more is more, River Island is bringing all the glitz to the party with its £36 Black Boucle Tailored Sequin Mini Skirt. Made in a boucle fabric, it boasts sequin embellishment and pearl embellished button detail.
But the M&S skirt has been backed by a number of positive shopper reviews, which prove just how well-loved it is among festive fashion enthusiasts. One said: “Really lovely skirt. One of my favourite skirts ever. Can be dressed up or down and is very versatile.”
“Beautiful skirt which will be perfect for the Christmas season,” said another, adding: “Comes up slightly big. I wish I had sized down although I might be glad of the extra room on Christmas Day.”
While one considered it to be roomy, another suggested it comes up small, noting: “Really lovely skirt, worn it to work and got so many compliments. It does run small though, I am a 10-12 and had to get a 14 and even that’s a bit tight by the end of the day.”
A fourth said: “Literally love this skirt. Great for the party season. Heavy tweed type fabric that hangs really well. Lovely fit. Can’t wait to wear it.” Another penned: “Beautiful and very stylish sparkly skirt all ready for Christmas.”
Another high-street number Cat has worn in recent days is this Brown Belted Jumper Dress from River Island, which we predict will sell out in the coming weeks. A jumper dress is a key wardrobe staple for autumn, offering the perfect mix of warmth, comfort and style as temperatures drop.
Priced at £46, the high-neck, long-sleeve design is ideal for the crisp November weather while offering a sophisticated silhouette. With subtle seam detailing and a flattering mini length, it’s as relaxed as it is refined, making it a great option for nailing Cat’s easy-going yet polished style.
