Ryan Carr has been hired as the Tigers’ new head coach for a three-year contract.

The 37-year-old Australian will take over the Super League team starting in the 2026 season as Shane Flanagan’s assistant at St George Illawarra Dragons.

Danny McGuire was fired as Cas’ head coach in July after only four of his 18 games were won.

According to Carr, “I’m very excited about the direction the club is going in the near future.”

“It deserves to be better than what it is, and that’s where we should take it.” I’m excited to begin the club’s growth potential.

After losing 17 of their 22 games this year, the Tigers are currently 10th in the Super League.

Carr previously worked for the Leeds Rhinos and Featherstone Rovers in England.

He also served as the Illawarra Dragons’ interim head coach in 2023 while Parramatta Eels’ coach Brad Arthur also served as his successor.
